This was my first time visiting Light House Bistro and I loved it! Tried the burger this time since I was particularly indecisive this day for some reason...the burger and fries were really good. I can definitely see myself dining here again as there were many other items I would like to try. We dined curbside on a nice mild day day...the whole experience was fantastic.
Absolutely delicious! We would absolutely go back; just not on the weekend ;-). The bistro was veryyyy busy! We had a reservation at 11:30 and had to wait until 11:55 to be seated. The hostess was very nice but too overworked between organizing the waiting crowd and seating guests. The bistro seemed small considering how many people wanted to eat there. That being said once we were seated the waitress was sweet and fast, the food came out fast, and the runners were great! We got two types of mimosas. And the french toast is a MUST! Everything was delicious and served hot.
I will just put it this way...if you havent been here, RUN, dont walk!First of all, I love the community contribution this restaurant makes to help homeless and struggling people get back on their feet. That alone is a strong reason to support this small business! My boyfriend and I tried Lighthouse Bistro for the first time for Halloween Brunch and my taste buds are still craving the meal we had and its Wednesday. Pumpkin bread pudding french toast with creme anglaise, kitchen sink breakfast bowl (eggs, potatoes, bacon gravy, a bunch more amazingness), and apple pie pancakes that were Heaven on a plate and far superior to any pancakes I have ever tasted in my life. Seriously the best brunch! Lovely atmosphere and friendly, great staff. If you go, you will fall in love with Lighthouse Bistro!Ps - Normally I always post pictures with my reviews but the food smelled and tasted so good that it didnt happen 😅
When I first read about the Lighthouse Cafe I was really excited, as their mission definitely rings true with things that I support. We chose to eat outside and were served very promptly by the nicest staff. I had the chicken salad club, and hubby had the meatloaf hash. Food presentation was great, substantial portions, but the food itself was lackluster. The chicken salad needed seasoning and way more dried cranberries, it was just sort of ho-hum. My husband felt the same about the meatloaf hash. Both dishes just needed something extra. However, we did both like the french fries, they were absolutely delicious. With so many good restaurants in Annapolis, sad to say Im not sure well be back.
This restaurant was simply AMAZING!! The wait staff was extremely organized and very attentive. It was a very busy atmosphere but there was no one waiting a long time. As soon as a party was done eating and socializing, the wait staff was there to quickly clean and prepare for the next guest(s). However you did not get the sense that they were rushing you. Now the food was simply incredible!! I ordered an omelette with potatoes and toast. What I really enjoyed is that the food was not greasy. It was well seasoned but not in an overwhelming way. And the taste was unbelievable!! My wife and I will DEFINITELY return!! We are foodies and the Light House Bistro does not disappoint!!
Outstanding! This weeks hot sauce, they need to go retail with that.
Crowded little establishment, but charming. Very loud and was hard to hear. The food was plentiful and tasty, with lots of variety offered on the menu. Went crazy and got a side of bacon on my shredded chicken salad!
Ive enjoyed breakfast & lunch at the Light House Bistro several times, and have always been impressed by the uncommonly delicious food and the excellent service. One of my favorite places in Annapolis!
Disclaimer: We arrived at 2:59pm today, so maybe the cooks were mad or something, but we got chicken and waffles today and it was really bad. The chicken was dry and chewy, which was surprising. The waffles werent soft and flavorful, just plain. Again, maybe they were a tad upset and in a rush, but would not recommend the meal I had.Two stars because everyone was super nice, person who took our order and the person who brought it to us.
Great experience and delicious food. My wife and I came here for brunch and they were very busy. We were able to get a table very quickly though. The food and service was outstanding. Very delicious pancakes and burgers. We highly recommend.
I had the chicken salad with fries and iced tea. The chicken salad was on the dry side but still tasty and the service was great!
Always has wonder food and great service. Well worth it!
I saw the Light House Bistro on the map and was intrigued by their story so I decided to try them for dinner. I was not disappointed. I tried one of their specialty cocktails and selected the shrimp pappardelle as an entree. It was served piping hot with four jumbo shrimp and pappardelle pasta in a cream sauce that included bacon. It was very filling. For dessert I picked the caramel apple tart with vanilla ice cream. Its not a conventional apple tart that you might think of. If was more like a deconstructed tart, in my opinion, but it was still tasty. The pastry was light and flaky and the apples where thinly shaved in a caramel sauce. Overall I give five stars for the Light House Bistro and recommend them for dinner.
Excellent food and service that is also doing a great community service. The food is top notch. I had the meatloaf hash with eggs and it is outstanding. My wife had the eggs Benedict and it was equally so. Service is always excellent. Lighthouse is a cant miss in Annapolis.
Like the atmosphere. Food and service was great and fast. Had the avocado toast with smoked salmon. Very tasteful.
Light House Bistro really is a culinary lighthouse. Excellent restaurant. The waiters work quickly, accurately and they are very attentive. The food was on first class level. Crab-Soup: à point. Salmon: excellent!!! Dessert: fine. The interior is also very unique. Go, try Light House Bistro. You will agree.Light House Bistro is one of Annapolis best restaurants. 🔝🔝🔝
Club sandwich was great as was omelet. Would skip avocado toast. Service, excellent.
Amazing staff!! And great food. Visited for 2 days and this would be my favorite restaurant to have breakfast and lunch!
We loved the mission of the organization and the food is good.
Looove this spot and LOVE the waitress—Vonetta I think her name is. I NEVER come to MD and not pop in…and our favorite person remembers our entire order EVERYTIME!!Can’t say enough about the food—DELISSSHHH! See you guys soon!! Oh and when I move down there expect to see me weekly!!
Had breakfast here on Saturday morning... excellent. Eggs Benedict and Omelet both with homestyle potatoes... very good coffee and friendly staff. Highly recommend!
A friend recommended this place and I was certainly not dissapointed! They have really good options for food and the staff was so sweet and kind. Their COVID precautions are also great!
Excellent breakfast. Staff very nice...
A great place to eat. Fair prices and the best crab dip weve found yet. Had a Bistro (chicken) Club that was great. Will return for a flatbread soon.
10/10 would go again. Great atmosphere and food all around. Small outdoor seating but its perfect on a nice day.
Incredible food, kind, helpful, friendly and wonderful staff! Highly recommend!!
My daughter loved her waffle! She described it like a Waffle House waffle, but much thicker and airier. I thought the eggs benedict was ok - it met all the criteria of eggs benedict, but was not anything special/the eggs were still a little watery. My husband and son enjoyed their meals as well. The potatoes included with it were tasty. The service was great, and we enjoyed the outdoor seating.
Fantastic place that just oozes care in everything they do. The servers and other staff we encountered were incredibly friendly and carried some great conversations around what the mission of Light House does. The food was beyond amazing. We were just looking at another visit and were sad to see they are closed. They do have catering available so we will keep that in mind for the future!
Excellent food i recommend the parfait with the house made granola.
First time going here so take my word for granted if youd like, but this place was banging. The food came out quick - Im talking like less than 15, I think. Nice chill spot. Took my mom here - her first time too - and she enjoyed the waffle and chicken, too. It was great portion for me - filling, but not stuffed. The waffle was crisp and flavorfull; the chicken was nice and crispy. I will say, however - and my mom pointed this out - we didnt taste much protein in the chicken. It was almost as if it was just the skin lol. But I thoroughly enjoyed it. Id come back for another visit (maybe get them fluffy pancakes 😋)
We really wanted to like this place because of their mission, but our meal just fell flat. We left thirsty and hungry for $16/person.Pros: inclusive, interesting menu; interior is charming; other peoples food looked pretty; easily sat large groups; no wait to get a seat at 10am on a SaturdayEh: food quality itself was fine but not made with love (homefries were well salted but not flavored, side of fruit had a lot of variety but half the fruit wasnt cut properly and had inedible bits, avocado toast had a good amount of avocado but was presented in a giant pile in the middle rather than smeared and it lacked all the ingredients the menu listed, and the regular toast was buttered but again, only in the center)Cons: virtually zero service, our drinks were never refilled and there was a 45 minute wait for our meals after our appetizer was brought out; one of our entrees was the wrong meal but our waitress never came back to fix it; portion sizes small for the prices
Amazing, delicious food. We had the brussel sprouts, crab dip, calamari and blueberry cobbler. EVERYTHING was incredibly tasty. That calamari was the best Ive ever had. The decor is very kewl, with most items being upcycled and restored for a different purpose. And the best? They give back to their community. Highly recommend!
Good food and great service!
Service is great, food is fantastic, would HIGHLY recommend!
Great breakfast and service.
Great place to enjoy a meal with friends. We were a large group of 25 or more. Carlton was the server at my table. He was fantastic! Carlton was knowledgeable regarding the menu and patient with us as we mingled and didnt stay in our seats. The food was served hot and in a timely manner. Carlton continued his warm smile and great attitude the entire time. I highly recommend the Light House Bistro. You will be happy!!
Amazing! The food here is delicious! I had the Breakfast Nachos for brunch...yummy! Great serving sizes. The service was fantastic. We will be coming back soon!I am editing my review. I went here on 2/16/20 and today, 2/18/20 I see that the waitress charged my credit card twice. I called and left a message for the manager...we will see if anything is resolved!
Great service, delicious brunch, cozy atmosphere
We always have the best food when we come here. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Their veggie omelette is amazing as well as pretty much everything else on the menu. Highly recommend!
Randomly stopped in for brunch and so glad we did! Food was amazing. Had the Tuscan Benedict special, I was full till dinner! Pancakes were delicious! We also got an amazing table near the window! Best seat in the house! Staff was great! What a great place!
I am originally from Annapolis and my family spent the Christmas week together at home. One afternoon, we all had a meal here. Light House has good food, great service and above all else a fantastic mission. I am glad to see a place doing social entrepreneurship in my home city. Doing good and a good meal...totally worth it!
Excellent bistro atmosphere with lots of great mission oriented statements and supporting decorations. Fantastic food and quality service. Please take time to read about their wonderful mission! Hands down one of our top two go-to restaurants in Annapolis!
I had brunch here. It was very good! I had the southwest gravy thing... i ate every bite. As soon as i had my first forkfull i knew i was going to devour the entire meal very quickly. My boyfriend had the vanilla pancakes and loved it. I would return and try something different everything seemed promising.
This is a fantastic place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!! It has high quality food, generous portions and a friendly and professional staff. We specifically LOVE IT when we are fortunate enough to get Roniece as our server!
I loved this place!! The food was very good and the service was even better than the food. Our waiter and really everyone in the place was extremely friendly and helpful. We ended up staying at the table for quite a long time talking and I felt kind of bad keeping the table for that long but the waiter was very patient with us (and we left a very nice tip to make up for the extra long visit) but not once did we feel rushed. The food selection is good and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is very cozy and it has a nice vibe. It doesnt have its own parking but there is a garage nearby. It was a really nice visit. We will be back and have already recommended it to others.
Very impressed! I walked in to try it as I was in Annapolis for a few days and have tried a few places. Right away you note that their charter is social empowerment. The decor is inviting and I tried it.They come right out and say their charter is to empower, train and place people with employment barriers, so the reviews complaining about sub-par food is perplexing. I am quite demanding about my food, and I can say I was extremely impressed with my breakfast: it was very fast, the eggs were really light, muffin perfectly toasted and bacon crispy and light; on top of that their in-house blueberry and pomegranate jam was very impressive. The final point is that the espresso was really top. I was impressed, for a breakfast full stop!
Ive been here twice now for brunch - enjoyed both times! Their homemade jam is the star of the show for my girlfriend and I (make sure to try it). Staff is great and food is good. Not too many vegetarian options but their protein scramble is pretty nice!
Light House Bistro is a must when in Annapolis! The food is great and the prices are not expensive. There is on-street parking as well as garage parking. This is a popular place in the arts district so make a reservation especially if you have a large party. It is handicapped accessible. Remember you are helping people that needed a helping hand when you eat here since the Lighthouse Bistro employees people moving from homelessness to Independence.
Greeted by friendly staff, had a short wait for a party of 5. I had the Bistro Breakfast which was eggs, hash browns, sausage and an English muffin. The price was very reasonable, $10, and tasted great.I learned, while there, this bistro is part of a training for culinary skills for the homeless of Annapolis. How great they are providing job skills while serving great food. Our server Kelly was the best.
Outstanding food, Service, atmosphere! After spending many years overseas and now back in the Annapolis area, this was 1 of 2 outstanding restaurants at which we have eaten. Thank you! excellent!
The restaurant is the restored old shelter from years ago, where my group and I used to volunteer. They did an amazing job constructing this place. The employees and managers are all trained by the Light House Shelter and all profits go back to help their budget. The menu is small but attention to detail and courtesy cannot be beat. They will customize any order if you make your preferences known. For so many reasons I give this small business my highest recommendation. Call ahead for reservations, even if you don’t think you’ll need them! Just a little addition to management: please include a vegetarian option! It will make it so much easier for me to enjoy your menu...

A non-profit, high quality restaurant, where the profits go to bettering peoples lives. This place has a rustic feel, but definitely hi end food and prices. The interior felt warm and rustic. The crab cake and salad I had what pretty high quality. Though I would have preferred larger portions for both the crab cake and salad. I think theyre going for a bit of a tapus feel. Even though I ordered an entree salad, it wasnt a large salad. So here, you will wind up purchasing several items from the menu. Thereby reducing the bang for the buck at this place. The quality of the food was fantastic though.
This is our favorite place for brunch! Service is awesome! Food is amazing! You can taste the freshness, flavor, and all that good stuff! And the pancakes are to die for!
Delightful. Service spot on. Food great! Only down side is noise level. Maybe some acoustic panels in ceiling ?Will be back nonetheless. Cant wait to try more of dishes . Hope breakfast is as good as dinner.Well deserved success for all involved
Bring a board game while you wait for food
Best Crab Cake sandwich Ive had. Nice casual atmosphere. Good service.
They have some of the best food in Annapolis! The idea behind this place is great and the salads and burgers are to die for! If you go for lunch it seems more casual but for dinner a little nicer but I wouldn’t say fancy by any means. The inside has a rustic look and everyone is always so nice. Great service and great food!
We loved this place. The menu is intriguing; full of a variety of wonderful healthy sounding options. The food did not disappoint! We were all pleased with the variety of items we ordered. Very decent prices; friendly service; interesting decor. Family friendly, but also great for a casual date night. We will be back!
Great place with a great staff. The various takes on American foods and the all American burgers and meatloaf are awesome. I highly suggest the meatloaf and their avocado toast with salmon and capers! I could eat one for lunch and the other dinner 4-5 days a week.
Excellent food and service. The owner provides help to the homeless community and tries to break the cycle. Good place for Sunday brunch.
OMG! First time here....best gazpacho and crab cakes I have ever had. Wish they had a cookbook for sale. Really wished this place wasnt 12 hours from our home in Florida. I will just have to come back to Annapolis more often. Best food we have eaten all week.
What a beautiful and inviting restaurant with great hours (you don’t have to wait until 11:00am on a Sunday for brunch). While the table we requested and a few others were empty the entire time we dined (“we are too busy to give you that table sir”), I thought the service was good. (Sitting next to the kitchen is no fun, loud and the conversations are not always pleasant to witness first hand). Even though my omelette came out incorrect once and undercooked the second time, we will check back in six months to a year to see if they have ironed out the kinks. Pricing is a little high for eggs and toast.
What a fantastic hidden gem!Looked dark and uninviting from the outside but once you enter - Wow!The place was packed, had ncredible energy, the people were super friendly and inviting, Mike behind the bar was totally awesome, giving both food recommendations as it was our first time, and ensured we wonderful cockrails, and was he ever right on the food? Im running out of adjectives! The food was perfection. We will visit again!BTW, this place helps the community!
The food is quite good. I like that you are helping the homeless by eating there. Its small and popular.
They offer Ceremony coffee, one of the best local coffee roasters here in Maryland. The menu is often inspired and obviously is made by someone who understands our local food. The Crab cakes are DELICIOUS and have very little filler. The service at times is a little slow as most of the employees are not seasoned food service professionals, but DONT allow that to deter you. You get a feeling from the waiters that they truly love the food they are selling.
Great lunch today at the latest spot in the arts district. Our service was attentive and the food was great. The atmosphere is a comfortable, rustic vibe and well thought out. Chef Beth is a great asset to West Street. Great to have a social enterprise in town and we wish them nothing but the best!!!
What a wonderful breakfast! Vegetarian omelet filled with ratatouille and boursin cheese...bacon just the way I like it and strong, hot coffee. Excellent service and beautiful decor. This is a nonprofit business that supports their community. Highly recommend!!!
I love eating here. Server is always great, Ranice, or something like that. Beautiful black woman with a great smile, so friendly.
Good wine and drink and beer list. Good service. Liked the salad.Unfortunately crab cakes are the only seafood item on the menu and only one crab cake for $26! Dry, not fresh fries served with ketchup and garlic butter--weird.
Our crab dip with a kick was delicious!! Our dinners were so good and our service was too. Such a great place with a small and unique menu that offers something for everyone!!
The food is always great. Excellent service. We always go here for breakfast when in Annapolis.
Food was excellent, service was super friendly and helpful. No wait breakfast on a Sunday, is worth its weight in gold. I think I found a new Gem.
Where else can you go in Annapolis to get great food, drink, and companionship all while helping a worthy cause and mission? The staff are all folks who are getting back on their feet, but fear not, they perform admirably and are friendly and capable and serve wonderful foods!Annapolis newest treasure.
Wow! Best breakfast food Ive had in a long time. We are Navy and were in town from NY for a wedding. Im a celiac and I had the veggie omelette. The veggies were so flavorful and cooked to perfection, tender but not overdone. My company said that the pancakes had a buttery crisp to them with a lot of flavor and the croissant was so fresh. I noticed the menu was very allergy friendly from nuts to wheat it would be easy to find options. The service was remarkable - incredibly welcoming. I noticed locals knew everyone and were chatting with the staff which is a sure sign of a good place! Wasnt aware of the mission of the restaurant at first, what a great idea. Its a winner.
OMG! Had brunch this morning with a dear friend who recommended this Bistro. If you have not dined here you are missing out on delicious food! The large waffle was without a doubt the most delicious waffle I have ever tasted. Dont know what they used to make it so moist but will order it again when I return!
Went here with a couple of work friends and received the best service from Tiffany! She was very friendly and patient with us while were trying to make decisions on what to eat. The food came fast and was very tasty. The location is in the heart of Downtown Annapolis and right next door to the Hilton Garden Inn so if you stay at the hotel, you have a great place to go for lunch!
The food that I Ive had here is very good. Staff very friendly. And all this is for a good cause. Im a big fan of this place. Theres usually not much of a wait at all.
Toast on my eggs Benedict was badly burned, shouldnt have been played that way, not served that way. They did correct it when I pointed it out. Other than that, I did enjoy the place.
Fantastic food! Fantastic service! We loved everything! Its truly a bright light in Annapolis!
We came here for my birthday in July and loved the food, service, background and mission of this restaurant. We visited tonight to celebrate our eldest sons birthday and unfortunately had the complete opposite experience. Last time we made reservations and showed up to an empty restaurant so I figured we probably wouldnt need reservations if we showed up at the same time. We showed up to a mostly empty restaurant but the male host seemed bothered that we didnt call ahead. I explained why and he said that while they looked empty now they were going to get busy very fast. I thought he was going to turn us away but he sat us anyway. Regardless, it was the most unwelcome treatment I ever received at a restaurant which is disappointing since I had been thinking about donating to their cause as well. When we left, there were still a number of empty tables. The food did not taste as good as last time and we asked the waitress which beer did not taste like grapefruit and her suggestion tasted like grapefruit. At least the birthday boy enjoyed his meal.
Great Annapolis location for outdoor dining. While some of the veggies were a bit salty for my taste, the servers were attentive and friendly
