This was my first time ever getting hair extensions done and destiny killed it!The process was very easy and didnt hurt or feel uncomfortable,I got sew is so I thought it was going to be a little painful,but it was great!Ive had these in for more than 2 weeks urgently and they still feel so secure,I do cheer and feel totally comfortable doing sports and flips while having these without them moving!the hair still feels amazing and the braids are still tight and secure!my hair looks amazing and destiny did a great job! Definitely coming back when it is time to get them redone!

Great experience, Taj is my new guy! I like the vibe of the shop, staff is very helpful. Definitely want to make an appointment beforehand and make sure you get a confirmation. I made the mistake of not checking the confirmation, the appointment wasnt accepted (the barbers option, no fault of the shop) but luckily Taj was open and willing to take me right away. Very personable guy, and he did a great job with my haircut. I recently moved to the area and was struggling to find a barber I like, so this experience made my month.

I went to schedule an appointment online. There were lots of options for 11 for various people. So I selected one. They said it was confirmed but to wait for an email. I got an email 10 minutes before the appointment time that it has to be rescheduled due to conflict. I have two kids that I need to get out of the door, this appointment was for my son. Why is that time even available if it’s not an option especially if it takes more than 10 minutes for me to arrive to the appointment. I find this very unprofessional and not accommodating to those that have children. Or live further away. I also called them twice to ask for another appointment but no one answered.I have never been to this establishment

I wish I could give this place 5 stars. I like supporting small business, but it was a terrible experience. They say it takes a lifetime to build relationships and a second to ruin it. It is very true to my experience at this barber. I called earlier in the day to see if there was availability for a cut they said no problem. Once I came in they told me they are not doing cuts anymore. I get it 1.5 hours left in the day they might have been tired. Except right when I was walking out they took a customer. No appointment, I only know this because the customer asked if they talk walk ins. I hate absolutely hate to play the race card, but the only difference between us skin tone. Everyone always says support black businesses and when you try you get treated like this. I cannot give any review of the services, but if you not black stay away. If the business wants only black clients say it that way no one else is wasting time.

Hairline was pushed back. Was also sliced up by the razor and charged $30 still smh. My barber shop back home charges $15 and does a way better job than this😂

Had an appointment for my son to get his haircut at 12;30 with a specific person. Which apparently that person still has 3 people waiting for him. After waiting Over an hour another girl was available to cut my sons hair. since we did not want to wait any longer he let her do it. We will never come back to this place again. I understand being a few minutes late but what is the purpose of having an appointment if they won’t be on time and can’t get the individual you requested.

Too ghetto, awful rap music always playing, not good to have kids there, patrons that do bring thier allow them to run around way too much, barbers dont make themselves accessible, hair stylist are extremely obnoxious and loud and rude as hell, its like being at the VIBE awards show,not professional at all. Doubt if I go back

The stylists at Erskine Reeves are good at what they do, they seem to take the time, and care it implies, to tend to your service, I’ll give them that. They also have a unique atmosphere and environment. I visited the new location at Woodfield and was excited to see their new expansion. However, I’ve made a total of two appointments and at both, I was told to wait...for my own appointment, sometimes over an hour.The first time, I waited for about an hour and ten minutes. But even then, they only were able to give me my haircut because I complained as I was late to an event. The stylist I had made an appointment with was still cutting other people’s hair. I was nonetheless happy with the skill of the stylist that gave me the haircut instead, so I decided to give it another shot.The second time was almost no different from the first. Except, this time, there was only one available barber. While I waited for my own appointment I was able to see the barber schedule walk in haircuts right in front of me while I waited for my own appointment.I assume the this is to maximize the money she was going to make that day- take a few walkins right before my cut to then get my money, which was a safe bet due to the fact that I booked the appointment in the first place.These experiences speak for themselves, and I don’t think I’ll be back here. Good luck to anyone that books an appointment, it won’t be at the time you schedule at.

My experience at Mr Reeves Barbershop was simply Phenomenal. The environment was Quiet, professional and the staff was pleasant and friendly. Mr Reeves was accommodating, patient, charming and he performed surgery on my dying hair. I highly recommend his services to anyone looking to upgrade their swag.

I got a discounted Keratin treatment here. Worse mistake I made. First it only took one hour which I know isnt a Keratin treatment. I got to beauty schools for services regularly. They take longer. I called after my hairdo because wasnt satisfied. When came back to beauty school for services made me aware I was ripped off! My hair even proved that!

Overpriced for a amateur job was not satisfied they didn’t even put the razor on my lining but charged as if they did do not recommend this shop

I scheduled an apt for 4, they are good capable barbers but I waited around for 30-40 min and wasn’t even able to get my cut because I had to go back to work at 5. Not everyone has time to waste.

I made an appointment for 3/5 @10:00 am through the website. I got to the mall and the shop was dark. Sign on door said they open at 11. I was confused because my confirmation said 10:00 am. I was calling, no answer. Then finally was able to get in contact with the owner (on IG) who was supposed to do my hair and he says oh my bad, that wasnt supposed to happen The lack of concern really bothered me. He then stated he was on his way but he had to do payroll first and he would be ready at 11 to do my hair. All the while hes saying he doesnt really care about time and is always late. I think that is terrible customer service. I still sat there waiting while he did payroll. I told him I needed to leave by a certain time because I had another appointment, and that still didnt phase him. At 11:20 I finally had enough and just left. I had sat there since 10. On a normal day, I guess it would be ok but it WAS MY BIRTHDAY. I wont go back just because the lack of professionalism and customer service. They have a fee you have to pay if your dont show up, they should be paying fees for the lack of customer service.

It was my first time here yesterday. I got an amazing cut. In addition to this, the people are really nice. Definitely coming back.

Husband normally gets haircut at my sister’s salon in Plainfield but we couldn’t get in so he went to erskine in the woodfield mall. We figured it would be top notch since it’s right next to Nordstrom. He was in the chair almost TWO HOURS talking her through the entire haircut. He had a picture and all the details for clipper size etc but a haircut that normally takes 20-25 took almost two hours. Eventually he got frustrated and told her it was fine and left bc we had somewhere to be that night. I have pictures of the back of his neck covered in scratches from her misaligned clippers (that are still there a week later!) and she took a random patch off the back of his head. Worst experience we’ve ever had with a salon. I emailed them twice that night and got no response. Never going back. $30 for a men’s haircut is also a lot when it takes you almost 2 hours. Go anywhere else!

Great place to get a haircut and shaving thats exactly as you wanted it. Relaxing vibe and the prices are really fair. Best part is all the well qualified barbers/stylists.Try Erskine REEVES . because he does really good cuts. I wasnt sure exactly what I wanted and he was able to do the perfect cut for my hair I will definitely be going back to him again Excellent Pioneer of haircuts. Thanks

Was visiting from out of town and needed a haircut. Reggie did an awesome job and the beard lineup was crisp! You can tell this shop is full of dedicated barbers who know how to cut hair. Would recommend if you need a fresh cut.

Brought my son in for twists. The appointment was for 12 and we were told that it would take about 45 minutes. When I returned in 45 minutes, my son was still sitting at the shampoo bowl. No sense of urgency by the stylist, no apology for the long wait. If my son had not been hell-bent on getting twists, we would have left. I want to support this business, as I have NEVER had a problem with the barbershop. But this is ridiculous! We need to do better. 2 hour wait for twists is unacceptable. I would rather be told that the stylist wasnt going to be able to do it. Just as the stylist time is valuable and should be compensated, customers time is valuable as well. Not sure if we will patronize the salon again, but will definitely keep going to the barbershop.

This was the personalized experience I was looking for away from feeling rushed at the other shops. Barber takes his time and assured I was comfortable and happy through my cut. He personalized my experience with one of his packages. Nice clean shop!

I took my son in to get a haircut and was greeted by Javier Reyes. He was so patient and kind to my son, who hates getting haircuts by the way. By the end of the haircut my son was comfortable with Javier and can’t wait to go back! He and I loves his new cut! I would HIGHLY recommend anyone and everyone to go see Javier Reyes to get a haircut for their kids or themselves!

This place is great for a number of services, I usually go in for a wash, deep condition and blow out and they do a fantastic job while taking their time at it as well.

Anthony is the best barber I’ve encountered with since high school he’s the only one to get me right! And he is so professional and kind and makes great conversation so that’s always a plus. Since high school I knew he’d be one of the best barbers and to this day I only go to Anthony-Keep it up my guy!

This was the most diverse barbershop Ive been to!! I am not a native of the Chicago land. I am going to be honest, the majority of the time, I have felt unsafe once I found experienced African American barbershops because the location hasnt always been the best. I was referred to Erskines barbershop through one of my acquaintance. This turned out to be the best references ever! I arrived to Woodfield mall and immediately felt the safety that I desired. The mall was beautiful. Once I arrived to the Erskines barbershop, I was greeted at the door to ensure that I either had a scheduled appointment or if they had availability to take me as a walk-in. This was a COVID-19 precaution. This made me realize that the business followed local rules and regulations during the pandemic! I was amazed. I originally scheduled an appointed in advance for my son only, but the staff must have realized that the pandemic took its toll on my inability to groom myself. It wasnt long before I was asked if I wanted some service, lol! This was the best decision that I ever made! My son had his hair cut and washed. I had my hair cut, facial hair trimmed, hair blackened, washed and dried for $75.00. All of these services plus a safe environment inside of a mall environment made me feel complete! Im looking to another experience. Ive been referring the business ever since! This is highly recommended for anyone who just wants a safe, clean, and friendly environment.

I go to Rell on a normal basis for the most part and he is my go-to barber now. He’s cool, outgoing, funny, and extremely talented with some clippers! Y’all will not be disappointed getting your hair cut by him! He’s amazing! I owe my crispiness to him! 😂

Brought my son (3 yrs old) and nephew (4 yrs old) here for haircuts and they did amazing. My nephew asked for a Spiderman web in his hair and my son wanted a Batman symbol. They pulled through and the kids loved it. Will definitely come back again.

Four or 5 years ago, Anthony was at Master’s Touch and rescued me from a bad haircut and, honestly, a bad stylist. My cuts have been great ever since, including a couple of style changes, and including my goatee I grew in a couple years ago. Anthony is talented and adaptable. (Also, BTW, bring some sunglasses for the bright lights that are becoming popular at salons now 😛).

Walked into the shop one day, after leaving Nordstrom’s and had a great conversation with Rell. Before I knew it, I was booking an appointment. He was very professional and courteous. Fade came out amazing! He not only cut my hair but did excellent beard work. I will definitely book with him in the future.

I have been going there for about 2 years and have been very happy with my hair. my hair is growing in length and thickness and I am very pleased. Alecia has always done my hair and does a great job. Everyone in the Salon is great and are always happy to help. Erskine is an amazing person. He is extremely respectful and truly enjoy saying that I go to his salon.

I will not go back to Eskine Reeve ever again.The hair stylist Zaydia is terrible, nasty and rude.She damaged and dry my hair completely by blow drying and using excessive heat to my hair and scalp.I would not recommend to anyone to go here unless you like your hair damaged.

I have been taking my son to Rell for the past 2 years. I refuse to let ANYONE touch his head besides Rell bc he’s so precise & all of his work is perfected!!!! I can be in the grocery store or simply dropping my son off at school & everyone always asks OMG whoooo cut his hair!!!! Swear if Rell was to move 2 hours away I’ll gladly take that ride EVERYTIME!!!!! Best barber ever for sure!

Hi, I have nothing but wonderful things to say this beauty salon. My hair artist is Zadiya, very friendly and professional when it comes to keeping appointments & providing you with exceptional customer service. I mean she is truly dedicated she had a family member past this last summer, with tears in her eyes she did not leave until she placed me with another well qualified stylist Daunte (wo derful)! I also had experience with another young lady who assist in coloring my extensions she did a great job as well. As we all know it is truly hard to find a dedicated, timely, & creative hair stylist. I began my research in trying to locate a hair salon that would fit me last year & lucked up on finding Erskine Reeves Hair Salon. I was nervous and apprehensive in trying them out as we know every stylist does not have a clue at what you want and sometimes try to push upon what they think you want. Not here! I dont care what ethinicity you are this team of stylist works together at making sure when you leave this salon you feel like a Beyonce/Celine Deon (BASICALLY a STAR). I am relocating this spring and plan on scheduling my hair appointments around my visits home. Not interested in finding a new shop, I feel its a waste of time & money. The services Ive had done were relaxers, trims, installs (overlay & sew ins) & color. You pay for quality & exceptional customer service and this is what you recieve. Truly a great team!!!
