Very smooth purchase - I enjoyed interacting with Matt Hadley to buy our new Tacoma. He was very friendly and easy to work with. When an issue did arise when we were close to closing, he went to his manager and worked out a solution quickly and completely to my satisfaction. The service center was very unwilling to discuss a recall that was never corrected on a vehicle that was purchased from them. I am guessing that the vehicles that they sell they do not check if there were any recalls to be corrected. Pumpus ignorance, that is why I will not have a vehicle serviced there

I never left a review when I originally bought my brand new 2016 RAV4, which was obviously years ago BUT even that long ago I STILL remember my sales associate by name, Janelle and the experience and how I felt the day I bought it!!!Like any shopper, I was in the market way back when and went to every local dealership looking for a small SUV. I was willing to spend more at each dealership based on what I was getting. After a week of comparing and evaluating... it all came down to the service and experience I had with Janelle that made me buy from David Bruce Toyota!!! She went above and beyond for me and showed me all kinds of features on the car, we took the car for a test drive and she showed me the Sport mode and wanted me to get on it! Dont sell your used car to David Bruce, no one has any authority to sign a check. You have to wait for a Tuesday and after all the meetings are over. Under new ownership, hope they improve. PS owner is only there on Tuesdays. SAD SAD SAD. We had to wait 5 day for our check to be signed

If I could give a 10 star, wouldn’t hesitate to do so! My husband needed a new truck for work and we saw a truck for a good deal on a website. We called the dealership and Dave answered and attended me the first time. I called and asked if he could send us a picture of the truck of close ups before we drive a hour and a half to see it and he went above and beyond with a video showing details of the truck.. we decided to go check it out and we were attended by Jason, awesome customer service, we didn’t feel pressured at all. He was super friendly about everything and attentive. My husband and I have never had such a great experience with purchasing a vehicle... very thankful for Jason and Dave for making our experience great! My husband loves his new truck! We don’t regret not one bit driving a hour and a half and 2 hours back! Thank you!

Worst experience at a Toyota dealer! Went in and negotiated a good price for truck. They didn’t have the truck I wanted and was promised they could have it delivered to me by Tuesday and no later than Thursday. Monday comes around and no one follows up with me. I called the sales guy and he tells me they found 1truck several hundred miles away and working on getting the car delivered. Tuesday comes around still no one calls me and again I call them. I was told the same thing. Thursday comes around no has called me yet. The sales guy is off so I speak yo the sales manager who tells me the same thing and ask if I still want the car? They already took my down payment and we already signed the sales paper! If they had no intention of delivering on their promise they should never have taken my money or given me the offer. They’ve lost a customer and I plan on posting on more social media about this terrible experience I’ve had with David Bruce Toyota.
Recently bought a 2013 Toyota Highlander from them. All in all the process for very smooth. Worked with Mike in sales who was great and David in Financial department was great as well. They were very easy to work with. Very stress free car buying process. Would definitely recommend this place and would certainly use them in future if need be. Great job guys!!!!!

Effective communication with co-worker and clientI had several questions and Keith may not have had all the answers but he clearly stated let me get a more knowledgeable Cadillac sales representative and Brandt answered the questions and returned to what he was doing, not trying to take over the sale, excellent communication between the two of them in front of a client. (the team work was awesome) (I work in a customer service area). Keith asked me to test drive the car and the rest was history. I drove the car to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Hows that for test driving! If I was to write a performance review for Keith Wright and Brandt Winters, I would say Teamwork: willingly cooperates, shares information, assists and is tolerant of others in daily interaction with all co-workers and clients. Easily adjusts to changes for clients needs to be productive. Identifies problems within own area, develops resourceful solutions, and makes recommendations for corrective action. Excellent job. I have been to the Downers Grove Cadillac for services before going to you guys, and I like how everyone at David Bruce treats their customers which is one of the reasons I continue to return to David Bruce. Plus with my crazy schedule you were able to accommodate my needs when possible. Especially this last time being short notice. Kudos to all of the staff, especially those in the service department as well as the mechanics. When its time to purchase a new/used vehicle I am sure I would be able to say the same for the sales department. All in all, a big, huge thanks to all.

I love this dealership! I bought my car from here and have taken it there for service ever since. They have fantastic people who are always friendly and will give you a good laugh. They are helpful and always explain everything. The prices are fair and coupons are offered. They just remodeled and it is much easier to get in and out of the building.
So here sit on 8-6 wanting to do something with the used car l bought from this dealership on 6-30, but possibly because they sold me the car illegally. ([email protected]) says. Im stuck waiting on my title! Oh and the salesperson didnt follow up with the request to track down the 2nd set of keys and manual . The whole process was easy. I was able to test drive a vehicle I liked on Saturday, but it wasnt the color I wanted. They were able to get the truck in the color I wanted within 2 days. Came in on a Wednesday evening and walked out within 2 hours with my new truck!

Had a recall letter on Toyota. Called and made appointment. Two days before the appointment I get a call saying that the part is in and I need to call to schedule my appointment. I don’t call I just show up to my appointment as it was already previously scheduled. I have no other service done. When I checked in I was asked if I wanted them to wash my Toyota. I said yes. The recall work was done in about 1 1/2 hours. They came out to tell me my truck was done and it was in line to be washed. About 30 minutes later they came out again and asked me if I wanted to take a pass on the wash because the truck was already done and there was a bad storm coming in. I didn’t want to be the bad guy so I said OK fine. I get in my truck that was parked out in the open. As I’m driving away I noticed that the back window is rolled down. So why was my back window rolled down? And is there any guarantee someone was going to check that before it went in the wash or better yet before the rain was supposed to arrive? If you don’t want to wash my truck don’t even ask but go ahead and leave the paper in the floor of the driver’s side and the card with the number on my dash, no worries I got your trash.

My brother has also bought 2 & my sister several more. Apparently, when we find something good, we stay with it. We all worked with Janelle. Shes truly something special.
Had to wait 4 hours just to buy a car
My wife and I drove to this location from the Chicago area to test drive a 2011 Ford Escape that wed found online listed for a few dollars under 10K. I will say that all the staff were very nice, and no one was pushy or rude.It took about ten minutes for them to bring the car to the front, and my wife and I drove the car about two miles around a nearby neighborhood. The first we noticed upon getting into the car was that it was dirty. The carpet had debris in it, there was dust in the car, and there were white marks on the console and other hard surfaces, as though there had been paint transfer or something. However, the car did drive well, so we figured they would detail if we bought it.When we got back to the dealership, we walked around the outside of the car. We noticed right away that there was heavy rust on the metal cylinders behind the hubcaps, and when my wife touched it, it flaked. There also appeared to be significant rust on the tailpipe and other areas around the tires. My wife pointed out to the salesman that she has a 2005 Escape (parked next to this SUV) and does not have rust behind the tires, and the salesman did not have an explanation for that.Then my wife asked to pop the hood. The car was still radiating heat even though it was about 70F out and it had been sitting, off, for 15 minutes. The engine looked good, but when my wife put her hand on the bumper to peer into the engine area...the left side of the bumper fell off. I pointed this out to the salesman and asked if it was supposed to just come loose like that, and he said that it seemed that the clips were worn.I know that theyre a Toyota dealership and this is a Ford. However, I have purchased used cars from different-brand dealerships, and the cars have always appeared clean, with body condition proportionate to price. That was not a 10K car. It was wildly overpriced for what it was.So, if youre going to buy a used car here, check it over very thoroughly. Make sure the body is in good condition. Make sure the bumper is attached (which youd think the dealership would do prior to listing the car, but I guess not) and its not rusted out in hard-to-see places. If we had bought based on how well it drove, we would have made a huge mistake.When we told them we would not be taking the car, they tried to get us to check out another similar Escape, but at that point we felt like if they felt the car we drove was worth 10K, we werent about to look at other cars. This was not a hard sell, though, and as I said, all the employees were very courteous. However, since we visited a month ago, I have gotten about a dozen calls from them regarding the car, which I do not appreciate.

I will recommend David Bruces to everyone. I absolutely love my 4runner. My dilemma started when I undertook the mechanical task much out of my league. Been changing my oil for nine years and made the worst rookie mistake, transmission drain instead of engine oil. That gut wrenching feeling took over, and for a moment i thought I lost my vehicle. Luckily Pete in the mechanical service department fixed my 4runner. I owe him big time. Jackie also in service department is extremely professional, friendly and helpful and didnt make me feel like an idiot when I confessed my error. This service department of Toyotas is probably the best in the midwest. I have been to a few others over the years and will say hands down the best mechanics and absolutely the best staff. Now Im hoping to get 300k more miles on my 4runner, but when she goes, David Bruces will be the only place I purchase another vehicle. Thanks again, we are customers for life

I had a great experience when I purchased my Sienna from David Bruce in February. Keith Wright was my salesman and was very helpful and friendly. I still email him with questions that arise, like when my Service Indicator light came on. I took my van back to David Bruce today for routine service, even though there are other Toyota dealers closer to me, and I am glad I did. Their team is top-notch. They explained everything. They understood my time was valuable; since I drove an hour. And they gave me a free wash! I will always go back to David Bruce!

Dave worked with me even before coming in to the dealership to nail down a competitive price that was one of the lowest in the region. He included all fees, taxes, etc, so that I had the Out the Door price even before I walked In the Door.Matt was a great salesman, meaning that he was personable, easy to relate to, and very low pressure. He was so easy going that I hesitate to even use the word salesman for fear of negative connotations that some associate with that word. He is relatively new to the Toyota world, and so while he knew many things, there were some Toyota-specific details he did not know. WOW! Really? I brought my 2016 Avalon in for the 20K Toyota Care warranty service(purchased from David Bruce). This service includes oil & filter change,tire rotation, new cabin filter, check brakes, fluids, etc.When the car was returned l noticed the tires were NOT rotated.After bringing this to their attention the tires were rotated, but I left with a feeling of less trust and wondering how often this happens with other customers(unknowingly). My gut feeling said I should check the cabin filter after I got home.AND GUESS WHAT? The filter was NOT serviced either and needed changing. I guessing everything needs to be checked from the service department, IF I ever return to David Bruce for service. But I doubt it.So customers BEWARE! I Consider this an UNSAFE practice. Wonderingwhat other maintenance procedures arent (unknowingly) completed.
BRANDT: Way, way above and beyond….I was looking for a trim level of a 2014 Toyota Highlander that no other local dealership had on their lot. Further, no one was willing to help me find it. Then I called David Bruce Toyota. Brandt Winters answered the phone and immediately said that if they didnt have the car that I wanted on their lot, he would do anything in his power to find it and bring it to David Bruce. I was skeptical, but sure enough, a day later, Brandt called me and said he found the exact car I was looking for in another state and that he would send someone to pick it up and bring it to David Bruce. Im sure it was no easy feat on his end, but he made it sound like it was no trouble at all. Ive never encountered anyone in sales who has been willing to go to such great lengths for a customer. Brandt was happy to go the extra mile, or 200 as this case may be, to get the car I wanted. He was kind, easy-going, and knowledgable. If anyone I know needs a car in the future, I will most definitely have them call Brandt. He is a valuable asset to David Bruce Toyota and made the hour drive to get there well worth it. I love my pruis, but the one I was sold was not worth the price. After buying, I didnt notice that there was barely any oil in the car and almost made the engine lock. There was damage to the inside frame of the doors, and the back seats seatbelts sometimes refused to lock. Plus my dealer said the Wipers were new, they were not new. I love Toyotas but this dealership were cheap.

***UPDATE*** Went in for some recalls for my Toyota Coralla, which I bought from David Bruce in 2012. Service Writer Steve who helped me doesnt seem like he wants to be there. He didnt even explain the recalls to me. For a broken plastic A.C. knob it would cost $455.00, this is because you have to buy a entire new assembly. The most disappointing thing about this experience is the next day I had a new radio installed by Best Buy, their geek squad fixed my A.C. knob with no questions asked while they installed my radio. (no charge) I was so grateful and surprised. This also shows me that the David Bruce Service team didnt even look at the issue and just wanted to charge me for a whole new assembly. Please explain this to me David Bruce? Does your service team even focus on customer care? My mileage is just over 115,000 miles and they didnt even recommend a belt replacement, which is due, based on the Toyota Manuel. I guess the attitude is get the customer in and out without even inspecting the car and giving recommendations. I really wanted to spend my money with David Bruce since they specialize in Toyota car care. I choose to go to Menike the next week for my belt replacement.

This last summer I was looking for a new truck and stumbled upon this dealership. Went in to buy a 2012 Ford F-150 in Mid July and this truck has been the biggest headache I’ve ever had. I had been told it was minimal rust and that everything had been inspected and was good on this truck. Here we are 4 months later and I’ve already been in a wreck because I just slid when I pushed the brakes and come to find out I had pretty much no brake pads and needed all new rotors. Also, someone had ZIPTIED the emergency brake hookup to the back tire. Today I am having to take it again to get looked at because of a oil leak. This truck had already cost me at least $1500 just in repairs of stuff that should have been looked at and mentioned when I was buying the vehicle. I would not recommend buying a vehicle here.
