Amazing coffee and awesome service. You will not be disappointed with whatever you order. They also have good food options and you can pretty much find whatever you like. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and they are in a great location downtown so its never hard to get to. It is well worth a trip if you are in the area.
I love this place. Ive come probably 4 or 5 times now. Every time, my drink has been good. Service is great as well. Its a very cozy shop, and I like coming in to study. The prices are super reasonable, too. I hate having to dish out almost $7 for a large drink at other coffee shops. Here its $4 and change.
Very awesome place. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the aroma of the coffee and the food is exhilarating. The staff was awesome and very helpful to new customers. The biscuits and gravy were awesome. The prices were awesome. I highly recommend this place and I have decided that this will be coffee shop that I will visit more often.
I have gone to Blue Strawberry for over a year. I have my usual go to meal, and recently had it and it was not up to par. Since I know it is a favorite of mine and normally delish, I contacted Blue Strawberry to let them know. Wesley responded almost immediately and rectified the situation. As I knew...it was a one off...problem. What I did learn is that there is something else on the breakfast menu that i ALSO now like, that is high protein....so I learned something new. Blue Strawberry cares about their customers. Thanks Wesley and staff.
Excellent service and employee interaction. Cold brew was very good as well.
Big. Boss. Breakfast. Burrito. I used to have this for breakfast almost every day when I worked downtown. I stopped in for one again last week. Still my favorite breakfast burrito in the state. The sweets in their display case are always really good too. Staff is always on the ball, everybody hustles! Highly recommend.
Some of the best ice coffee in town. Staff is always friendly, and food is always great. Highly recommend.
One of the few coffee shops in downtown Cedar Rapids to serve decent espresso drinks. Pastries are so-so and bagels are sometimes burnt. The ambiance is moderate. They have a light part, which feels a bit sterile, like a fast-food place, and a darker part, which is a little too dark. I would only grab coffee there, but not spend time.
Stopped in for a quick breakfast and ordered the granola, fruit, yogurt parfait... and then noticed the fresh cinnamon rolls. Couldnt resist adding that to accompany my cappuccino, and I was glad I did!
Have never been disappointed here. Theres several good local coffee joints, but Im loyal to Blue Strawberry
Great prices and service in the downtown! Friendly and helpful staff and management!
Just had the best chai latte of my life made by a very cute barista. I usually try to get in when its not too busy. Ambience is fairly comfy. Coffee is great
The Blue Strawberry has hands down the best espresso Ive ever had. I used to be a barista at Starbucks (I know, I know) and it is much better. Their food is great, although it can be pricey. I go there pretty much on a daily basis so they know me there. I would recommend it to anyone! Been going there for years.
Love this place. I go almost every week with my lap top and work to get done. The atmosphere is great and the prices are crazy low for how delicious everything is. Ive been quoted saying they have the best chai tea latte Ive ever tasted.
The food was ok, but the etiquette of the employees made this my first and last trip to the establishment. For the price of a sandwich and side pricing between 8-11 dollars, I was better off going to subway.
In the fifteen years Ive been frequenting the Blue Strawberry their quality hasnt wavered once. Good coffee, good food, good service. Thank you.
Lovely staff, food is good and really cheap. Coffee is okay, not really strong or hot but good.
Great food, friendly service, and the location is great for enjoying the rest of downtown Cedar Rapids
I used to love The Blue Strawberry. I rarely go there anymore. I was at the library yesterday getting some work done and contemplated eating at one of the food trucks around Greene Square Park, but chose to go to the Blue Strawberry instead. The place was empty at 12:30 pm on a Friday, which was odd. I remember they used to be packed at lunch time.I ordered a chicken fajita wrap with Cole slaw. They used to give you your food on trays. Instead, I was handed a plain brown paper sack. I took the sack to my table and found my wrap was wrapped all right, in paper. No biggie, until I took the paper off and the thing fell apart. It wasnt a wrap, it was a salad on a small tortilla. There were a few pieces of chicken with no marinade or seasoning and a few raw red peppers. When I think of fajitas, I expect the meat to be seasoned or marinated. The rest of the mess was made up of huge pieces of lettuce and drenched in some kind of southwest salad dressing. Like I said, this wasnt a wrap, it was a salad with a small tortilla. I liked it all right. Just dont really agree that a salad drenched in southwest dressing can be called fajita. In the paper bag I also found this skinny little warm and limp pickle, wrapped up like a mummy in plastic. They used to have big, crisp pickles theyd put on the side of your meal, not some sad little thing wrapped up and shoved at the bottom of a sack. It tasted okay, but it was soft and soggy. The Cole slaw was disgusting. Very bitter and sour. Even though it came in a dinky little container, I couldnt finish it.Maybe Ill try them again one day. Probably not anytime soon.
I always come back to this place when Im in town. Just had an amazing biscuits and gravy dish for under 4 bucks. That and in-house roasted coffee makes this one of my favorite breakfast places in Cedar Rapids.
My cappuccino was bitter, too hot, and milk was too foamy. Cinnamon roll was just okay. Please free your surface of the sun hot coffee from its styrofoam cup prisons. The staff was also impersonal all the way from taking my order to pick up. They call your name on a PA system (very weird, felt like an old Burger King). I went to pick up my order which was on the far side of the counter. When I kindly asked if it was mine, the young woman said yes, but then just stood there and didnt even try to move my items to my side of the counter. Just kind of awkward.Seems a nice place for a coffee work or networking meeting or to grab a more substantial meal, but I was not impressed at all, especially given its central location downtown. Definitely better coffee shops in CR. Try Brewhemia or Brewed Awakenings.
Had some coffee. Good and polite service. Will go back and try some pastry.
You have to try the Mike Gary wrap! The Blue Strawberry is a great place to grab breakfast or mid-morning snack with a coworker -- a tasty way to get business done.Admittedly, every time I go there I think the wait shouldnt be as long, but then I take my first sip/bite and realize it was worth the extra minute.
GAME CHANGERBlue Strawberry where have you been all my life?my goodnessI give you all the stars that other places have failed to earn. You meet so many expectaions, and exceed them more over.I will be back to share my earnings with you for food and fuel (perfect espresso).Thank you for exsisting.
Love this coffee shop. Enjoy the employees
We had the ham and muenster with strawberry mustard sauce breakfast sandwich. Unique and very tasty!
I love the salads for lunch - especially the Polynesian. For coffee, I like the Americano. Overall I like this place but I do wish theyd offer paper cups instead of Styrofoam for those days I forget a reusable mug.
Love the BLT on a Pretzel Roll - its a one-of-a-kind flavor combo that makes your tastebuds come alive. Service is always friendly and prompt. Great place for lunch with indoor street-view seating from barstools, outdoor seating, tables, and booths available. Love the whole package.
Highly recommend this place. Super friendly staff and the food is exceptional!
Unique food (try the ham and muenster sandwich with raspberry spread) and a cozy atmosphere in downtown Cedar Rapids. The warm cinnamon roll will make anyone smile.
Delicious food and hot coffees! Perfect for cold days my favorite place amazing staff [=
Love their asparagus panini. great for lunch in a relaxing space
Kind staff, and the coffee is pretty good too. They also have a decent selection for wine and beers and can accommodate a larger group. Nice and laid back area creviced into the downtown area of Cedar Rapids. Not the best, but still a good option for your caffeinated fix.
The New England turkey sandwich has been my favourite sandwich for 10 years! I love the chill atmosphere here and that it has some class as well as uniqueness to it.
The Expresso drinks are tasty, they maintain multiple varities of brewed coffee. The French roast is good. The food is good and prices are great. Service is wonderful.
Highly recommend the Mike Gary. Ive tried a few others here and nothing can compare. Fast and friendly service, always as well in downtown CR.
Great people, good atmosphere; nice place to conduct business!
The staff at BlueStar were fantastic they know their product the coffee I had was fantastic a girl named Celeste was an awesome help.
Slow and unable to eat- Do you have toasters there? i waited in 15 minutes for a bagel this morning that wasnt toasted it was smashed in a press, have you ever tried eating a bagel thats been toasted this way? My bagel wasnt edible, Id like a refund or a store credit.
Breakfast sandwich was not super flavorful or well cooked. Nice ambiance
Good quick meals, daily soups are awesomeNot much options for vegetarians except salads and veginini
Had the biscuits and gravy, nicely done at a good price. No complaints from me.
Its ok. Half way decent food, staff is friendly. Prices are high, but about what they would be for a place like this. One of the better but certainly not the best coffee shops in town.
Great little breakfast spot right around the corner from our hotel. Good prices. Great coffee.
The food and coffee were delicious and the environment makes you feel so at home!
Great food but there tea doesnt taste good but other then that they have amazing food for a good price and an amazing atmosphere for studying and hanging out
I come in here quite often for a Salad or Sandwich for lunch. Portions are just right so you will be good for the rest of your day, without being weighed down by an overly heavy lunch.
My absolutly favorite place to go.They have wonderful sandwiches and great drinks!!!
Food is ok; really good place for meetings. The place has been up for sale for quite sometime, owner might consider lowering his asking price.
The cheesecakes are amazing. Sometimes I just cant decide on what flavor.
Turkey Provolone panini- my go to. I heard about this place 5 years ago, its only gotten better with time👌🏼
Good coffee & very friendly staff!
I asked about the Maid rite special, what is was, all I did was ask a simple question, and she replied it’s maid rite...thank you for not explaining anything
Beautiful fresh Belgian waffles with homemade whipped cream. Nice local establishment for breakfast and lunch.
Greatest breakfast place downtown.
Came here for breakfast, might as well went to McDonalds for better quality of food. I went to Brewhemia for better coffee after word.
Nice little coffee shop with better than Starbucks coffee.
Super friendly staff and excellent selection of loose leaf teas!
Friendly crew. Good service. Got everything I need.
I had a very delicious sandwich and cup of coffee.
Good food, and coffee. A bit trendy.
Excellent coffee and sandwiches, good attention, quiet environment, definitely will go back
Excellent food and whatever coffee you drink! Love going there!
Great spot to pick up good coffee and breakfast items.
Great coffee. Great food.
Enjoyable place to sit a socialize, down to earth. Good coffee.
Strange hours, good coffee. Can be busy
Really good breakfast, coffee, and baked goods.
Great coffee, plenty of seating, staff is always friendly.
Nice staff, pleasant atmosphere
Excellent coffee, great food, and a relaxing atmosphere
Variety of drinks to choose from, the classic get up & go morning coffee to the day is done glass of wine. Takes a moment to get your order, which I would expect when not being dispensed from a machine with powder & hot water. Only downside can be parking. If you dont mind walking a block or less then this is the place to go.
Good smoothies here. Little pricey though
Great place to grab a small bite to eat...
What a treat! Next time I visit, I want to eat breakfast here every day!
Good iced blended mocha drink.
Great food and service
Get that big boss burrito!
Good coffee for a good price!
Friendly staff and a good selection of products
Peach Berry smoothie was delicious!
Just all you could ask for. Was there again today.
If you like really burnt espresso... Maybe this is your jam.
Amazing coffee and pretty cheap
Good iced coffee.
Great mocha and priced well
This was the first coffee shop that I actually went to I found it overpriced and the staff was in a hurry to move to the next customer with no other customers behind me
Enjoyed my coffee.
Good downtown spot.
Great service and good variety
Love this place.
Cafe with a taste of history
Good coffee
They once let me bring my cat in with me
