Visiting from Atlanta for the Memorial Day weekend for a change of scenery. The book selection, customer service and welcoming of my puppy (Bear) was amazing. I am definitely considering joining their virtual book club. If I am ever in the Charlotte area again or potentially relocate, this will definitely be my local book store of choice.

Great store - go pickup a signed copy of Splitting Pennies on display now! We need to support our local bookstores! This is not only a great bookstore but they have tons of books for children. Store is clean, has a great selection, and in a convenient and well kept part of Charlotte.

This is a great place for book lovers. The selection is not huge but it is curated. I was able to find books that were on my list as well as make some really cool discoveries. The shelves even have incredibly helpful staff suggestions. You can tell the employees really love books. They have a lot of fun talking to and helping customers.

When I enter this local establishment I was struck with joy. I’ve grown up in this area and now realize what a crime it was for me not to come here sooner.The staff was friendly, inviting and very helpful. I did not feel judged by them when asking simple questions.It is a great place to go to get inspiration to open up a book and dive in. As a future educator I see how engaging Park Road Books could be for challenged readers.They have a point system that is actually beneficial. The staff is super friendly, and the selection is really solid considering the size of the store; I stumbled upon a ton of fiction that I’d never heard of before. I also love the buyers’ reviews that can be found around the shop - they’re so helpful, and they make the store feel like even more of a community staple!

They have a broadly diverse selection of books for all ages, everything is very well displayed & organized as well. The staff is informed and consistently provide excellent customer service. It’s been a while since I’ve stepped in a bookstore that wasn’t a part of a chain unfortunately due to my busy schedule but stopped in today based on word of mouth and honestly never would want to go back to a chain store again. Park Road Books is a very inviting book store. The associates are always friendly and helpful. They are always current on books and events. You can schedule book showings and books clubs events also. I just loved them so much. And if they dont have want you want, they will order it for you.

Stopped in looking for 2 books, they had neither. Young lady behind counter with a nose ring was uninspired emotionalless zombie. Looked ill at me when I requested to see if the books were available. Seemed like a great bookstore. The other clerks behind the counter were assisting other customers seemed more happy to be there.

Small local bookstore with a little bit for everybody - but where they really shine is customer service. Every time I come in, I can give an (often vague) description of the kind of book I’m looking for, and they’ll recommend a fantastic book every time! It’s a lovely place.

A typical, cozy, quaint little bookstore, jammed with books on shelves and aisles that are too close together and difficult to navigate. Though the signage is poor, the sense of community and small -cool -hangout- to- turn -off -your- phone- and discover, ..is strong. Kids seem to love it.

The staff really know their inventory, they are kind, friendly and made my experience that much better. The atmosphere is great as well. Its calming and very appealing for a nice read.

If they dont have it, they can get it! Very knowledgeable staff. I love supporting my independent bookstore! And many of their books are signed by the author! Bonus!

I love how personal this place is with reviews on the shelf and author information for upcoming events. There is more focus on the books and there content than the mainstream of being sold. Great place to find signed books from local authors. Staff is amazing and helpful as well.

A really lovely bookstore. The selection was very good, a range of topics and presses (popular and academic). The kids reading area in the back was cute. The staff were all very friendly. Bookstores like these that deal almost exclusively in new books are not always my first choice (I prefer rummaging through the ruins of used book towers), but this one got to me. Would definitely recommend.

It is a local book shop although it is smaller tuan Barens n Noble it feels more home it even has chairs and couch to sit on. It is also much easier ti find books because every section is labeled nicely

Great small business with a fantastic selection of books for adults and kids. Purchased a few items for the kids, and picked up their newsletter at the front that included suggested reading for kids. The salesperson asked the ages of my children and kindly highlighted a few of her favorite selections for each age. Very thoughtful and valuable. I love small businesses with personal service.

Sometimes buying online just wont get it. Book lovers know about Park Rd Books. They smell like a bookstore and their people know books and authors and can offer suggestions if youre stumped.

Amazing staff who recommends lots of great books for me. The book collection is substantial for children and adults. My family comes here a lot. Sometimes I spend hours at the store reading on the comfy couches. Sherri and Shauna are very knowledgeable about the different genres of books. The atmosphere in the room is very cozy and warm, and the store smells inspiring! Sometimes when I come in the dog greets me.

My 14 y/o needed a book to keep him busy. I called to make sure they were dog friendly! The lady on the phone assured me that they were. We were on the way! Immediately, my pup Tuffy became the center of attention.. Shes high energy and SUPER affectionate. The staff put the biggest smile on my face today, and thank you for that! Tuffy gave everyone kisses, having the time of her life exploring the register area and getting loved on. My son was easily able to find a book he was interested in. He immediately started reading once we got home. I wish there were more places like this in Charlotte, super dog friendly and welcoming. 💖 Well be back!

This is a perfectly good bookstore but definitely boutique style. It is not very large but it is fun and is a great alternative to larger stores or online. There are a lot of staff recommendations.

I adore visiting our local indie bookstore! I am never disappointed with the staff recommendations and it is always such a pleasure visiting and chatting about our favorite books. This store is such a treasure to have in Charlotte!

I called about a book I had been looking for all weekend at 5:45pm on Sunday and saw prior to calling that they were closing at 6:00pm. I asked if it was alright if I arrived a few minutes after 6 and was told it would be no problem. When I got there with my dog, the gentleman had kept the store open for me, with the book I called about already at the checkout. On top of that they had treats and biscuits behind the counter for dogs. I always try to shop here when I can for books but after my most recent experience I doubt I will ever step foot in another book store other than Park Road Books.

One of the only remaining independent bookstores in the area...Yes, you can get books cheaper online, but you will not get the customer service and the relationship with people who really care about books and readers of all ages.An added bonus is that this is also a stopping place for local, regional and national authors on their book tours.

One of our favorite places in Charlotte. My daughter and I frequent this small, quaint bookshop frequently as we prefer the atmosphere here to the giant booksellers. This is how bookstores should be - crammed full of books and really helpful people who know their inventory.

I just came out of this bookstore and thought this place has some rude people who work here. They dont greet you, they just stare and make you feel like what are you doing here?. Im better off going to the big bookstores like Barnes and Noble. You would think that a smaller bookstore like this would have a much friendlier atmosphere. Not the case here. Dont support them, theyre RUDE!!

The light skinned woman who was working Saturday July 13 was extremely rude. Not sure if she has a problem with a white guy with a shaved head or not. I have worked for small business my entire life. Customer service is the ONLY thing that keeps customers coming back. I suggest she take a few classes on how to treat EVERYONE with respect.
