Went to purchase a new laptop and had a wonderful young man assist me. He was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive to my specific requests. It made it quick and easy to find the one for me and get out of the store back to my day

Im not exactly sure what happened to Best buy through the years but their services took in a steep decline.
We bought an entire kitchen full of kitchenaid appliances last November from best buy. They were on back order which we knew. We received them in February/March 2021 by June our cooktop and fridge stopped working. We lost hundreds in food. We went back and forth with kitchenaid who was by far the worst in customer service. They lied to us, laughed at us, insulted us, hung up on us and when we finally got someone to listen and agree to replace our fridge (4 months later and 2 repairs that didnt fix it later) we were relieved. Well, they didnt show up on delivery day, they didnt call or email us anything. When we called them we found out they cancelled our replacement and sent us more parts to maybe fix the fridge because even they didnt know what was wrong with it and they were just going to replace the cheapest parts and work their way up the list till something fixed it. This meant we would still be without a fridge and for even longer.Desperate, we went to Best Buy where we purchased the items and two women who were supervisors there actually took time to hear our nightmare story and agreed to exchange our fridge with a new one at no cost. Thank God! If best buy Chesapeake square ever has an item we are looking to purchase...we will buy it there before anywhere else. My husband and I are both card holders there and have literally never had any issues with anything weve bought there. We are huge tech people. Hands down great people, great warranties, great company, great customer service. Kitchenaid could learn alot from yall! We love our best buy family and words cannot express the relief and joy that these women brought back to our home after spending this long with no fridge and being treated so poorly by kitchenaid. So sad!! What are we supposed to buy?!This was just the shrinking and super empty toy section. There were exactly two Barbies to choose from (and they were both white) ~ two Hot Wheels cars. 87 (ok, slight exaggeration but still it feels that way next to 1 of each other toy) The Child toys. Yikes. Not sure who does your toy ordering but...they overshot that trend.The nearby movie section was equally empty.The mobile phone sales section was packed with associates though. 🤷🏼♀️The kids and I used to love going through the toy aisle and grabbing a few things (like the blind bag toys or bean bag plush toys for the newest toy release) but I guess well let dad shop by himself from now on since theres nothing to keep us busy!! 😭
Upon entry to this store I was greeting and offered help. This is the first best buy This has ever happened to me at as you can never find an employee to help. The overall organization of the store was good as well as cleanliness.keep up the good work and training of your staff.

Before I came across this Best Buy, I went to another one to find accessories for my new desktop. The store was quiet and I had to (aggressively) hunt down any employee that would help me get something off the shelf. However, when I walked into this Best Buy, in the first 3 minutes I was greeted by two different employees that both individually asked how they could assist me. Even after I was in the que to pick up my online purchase, an employee called on the radio to ask for assistance at the pick up counter so my wait would be shorter. Online shopping has become more of the norm lately, but this store is one that Id come to in person any time knowing Id have face to face service to help me find that Im looking for. Thats something you cant get on any website. 10/10.
Long line to checkout. There seemed to be many conversations between customer service reps on the floor. Once I could get their attention, they were friendly & helpful. Possibly I would have made another purchase there if one of the reps would have talked with me about what I needed. I went a nother store, to find that Best Buy had what I needed.
This is my go to place for electronics. Staff is super knowledgeable and collaborative with their coworkers on knowledge of computers. Batman was over the top helping me with my purchase.

The store was not crowded. There were multiple people that I asked for assistance in the automotive audio section. The undercover security stayed close to me for 15 of the 25+ minutes I waited for assistance...that never showed up. When I voiced my concern to the 3 employees at the front it was explained the blue shirts were doing inventory and someone was there to help me on my way out the door. The lack of customer service was disheartening. The store was not crowded. I wasnt in one of the money making departments...
Just your average electronic store, trash was pulled up outside the entrance over flowing! Customer service reps was helpful to direct you to the area you wished to go

I went to Best Buy on Portsmouth Blvd. at 1020 am thinking I would beat the crowds. Well there weret many customers there, but there also wasnt much staff there either. It took 40 minutes to get some help in the computer section.

I went here because I got a huge scam alert on my home laptop. It was definitely a scam that I almost gave my information to some guy who called himself Mark. He had a very strong middle eastern accent. He said he was with Microsoft and wanted to remote into my computer. I got a weird vibe from him and hung up the phone. He tried to call me back 3 times but I did not answer. The guy at Geek Squad was spectacular. He helped me out tremendously and really eased my mind. I wish I got his name because I would give him some praise on line

Waited for almost 10mins for an associate to help me and nobody came. As I was going through the door the person who told me someone was coming looked me DEAD in the eye and said, someone will be with you shortly- AS I AM GOING THROUGH THE DOOR. I had money to spend. I went to buy a 40 tv and all its fixings (brackets, surge, etc.) .Went to Walmart instead. Got what I went for. Horrible service.
As we walked in, several people asked us if we needed help. We found what we needed, compared features & prices . The check out wait was timely. Nice visit.
Went there to purchase a video camera. They only had three and none of the worked. Poor quality. I looked at Nikon regular camera, that I really liked, but to was not working so I couldnt test it. Wasted trip.

This has to be one of the worst stores Ive ever been to. All they want is for you to buy something new but wont stand behind their product or try to correct whats wrong. Id go to radio shack before I go to this store again. Very unprofessional!! And their auto techs dont know anything about car audio installation. Heath and Kenny are crooks, no wonder best buy went bankrupt.
I came in for an electronic that was missing in my new car..(fm transmitter).. There were 3 team members there helping me and opening boxes so that I could see if that specific product helped my needs (as the boxes themselves didnt list complete operations)...I was greatly relieved because I didnt have to keep buying only to return because the product wouldnt work for me. GREAT TEAM WORK, and even better Customer Service!!!
The decline of the big box store. Went into this location and wasnt able to find a representative to help us learn about our planned purchase. Minimal staffing and didnt see too many other customers.
The staff were so nice and welcoming. All of my questions were answered and I left with a purchase I was happy about.

Helpful isnt the word. I was helped all around the store except the register. I was the only one in line and still waited at least 3 minutes while 2 workers chatted in front of me. Other than that, at least i found what I needed
Every time I go they never have anyone Willing to help you. Unless youre willing to get the higher price items! I wanted the cheap phone .We dont have it. I left pulled it up on my phone went back and guess what they never looked for it. I got two but next time I will be taking my $200.00 elsewhere.
Best Buy Worst Service...I have wasted nearly 2 hours trying to get with some certainty an ETA of something I purchased on 3/24 and was told Id have it in a couple days. I just tried to follow up on an email I received that contradicted what an email sent earlier indicating I would get it today. Tried to call the store and They are not taking calls at this time. After going as quickly as possible to get out of virtual assistant and to a rep....they said Thanks you for.... and the call dropped. Positively awful experience.
Wife and I purchased new phones from Chesapeake Best Buy, and the Staff was very friendly and helpful. A special thanks to Oscar who made sure everything was transferred properly, they were a blessing to us.

Has made some changes that has made the store better. More knowledgeable staff and quicker service as well as bit more individual attention from staff to help customers. Have greatly improved themselves.*Update - TJ is an amazing computer expert and has a lot of great knowledge about the right computer to fit your needs. I highly suggest talking to her if you need any help about anything computers.

The customer service was kind of slow, and I didnt know you had to make an appointment for the Geek Squad to see you. But, they eventually did service my computer and it turns out that my internet service provider was having major issues all over the Chesapeake area. In all, my experience was good.
I was very pleased. It had the item we needed. Had a reasonable cost. And very knowledgeable personnel, friendly, and very outgoing. Keep up the good work.
I had been to this location a couple of times for some computer parts that I needed to hook up my monitor with my surface. The woman who helped was really helpful and when she wasnt sure of a question, looked it up online and we talked through what I needed. She was able to help me get the parts I needed which was awesome considering Im not that great with computers. During Black Friday, one of the employees was also kind enough to let me know that if there was anything I would need to get it during the weekend before cyber Monday hit as they would be really busy again.
Corporate and the store manager should be proud of the employees here. My husband and I bought 2 phones Sunday that werent available in our preferred color, so they were shipped to my house. I believe the associates name was Molly. She was unbelievably friendly and knowledgeable. I brought the phones in the following Tuesday when they were delivered to be activated and have my data transferred. We had massive technical issues. Oscar was absolutely the best. He was on the phone with Verizon, Best Buy internal support and probably God himself. In the end, Josh representing the Geek Squad came in to troubleshoot the issue. And he killed it. It took at least 3 hours total to get my new phones online, but the associates worked hard the entire time on an issue they had never seen before. They were patient, kind, and smarter than me. Absolutely phenomenal staff. Would definitely reccomend. To Best Buy: Molly, Oscar and Josh deserve a raise. (If I got your name wrong let me know. I will edit the review)

In spite of everything that we are going through in this country, the young people in the store remained positive they smiled and greeted us. they showed extreme patience in me when I did not understand anything about technology. Dirty and smelly was my experience. They have a bathroom that gave me a vive of a gas station bathroom. It was dirty smelly and no toilet paper. Walls had writing on it. It was awful. During this pandemic they really should do a better job. As far as the rest of the store. They looked like they ran out of everything so they just put plastic bins on all the shelves. What’s the point. I left. I won’t be going back in.

Had what I wanted.
I ordered an item online. I went to the store the day of. It was stated that they didn’t have the item yet. I went and checked and there was one in store. I asked if they could just give me that one since it was the item that I was waiting on. It would have saved me at least an hour of drive time. You can’t call the store anymore because of how they have the calls set up now. So, it’s not like I could make sure that they had the item. I only can see that I could have purchased one in store and picked it up today. Figured they had it. The response I received was, I could get the other refunded in 3 days and purchase that one or just come back later. Now the website says the item is delayed to pick up in store. Either way, I used to love Best Buy and the people that worked there. Now, I’ll never shop there again because they suck. Thanks Best Buy on Portsmouth Blvd. You suck now. Congrats!Update!!!!Been on hold waiting for a customer service manager for 45 minutes now.

This location seems to be better stocked when it comes to their gadgets given the age of covid, so I definitely recommend this Chesapeake location, however, if youre hoping for the Xbox series, PS5 or Nintendo switch to be there, you will be out of luck. This is one of the better locations to go to. Highly recommend.
I suppose I went on a non busy day because I had a rep named India help me find a color printer today. I just simply appreciated the fact she legit cared that I had a concern in regards to purchasing the right printer and even helped me look for one! Attitude goes a long way!
