Great people, great staff. I called ahead about a particular item, and the woman I was speaking to heard my children in the background and offered to put that item at the front for me. It’s the little things that matter. I wish I would have got her name because it was extremely thoughtful. But thank you Ms. Home Depot Lady, you’re truly appreciated!!
This is a great store my favorite place for all my projects needs. Store is clean stafff is friendly and willing to help you find whatever you need. Getting to here n away can be tricky depending on time of day n the traffic. Keep up good work 5 stars
They lost my order after my husband and I spent several hours picking out what products we wanted. There was no one to really help us and when our friend stopped to pick up what we spent time putting together, we were told it was put back on the shelves and it would take their staff 12 to 24 hours to pull it again. That is/was unacceptable and I cancelled the order and went to Lowes and received exceptionally great service.
Clean store, polite and helpful staff! We just moved so of course Home Depot is a must. 30 min before close and someone came right over to make a key I needed. Had everything else we were looking for in several areas and found help immediately in the paint dept. which offered FREE PAINT STICKS.**Must note that we had recently gone to Lowe’s to get a paint and were told we had to buy paint sticks !! Since when do you purchase paint and get asked to pay for them. A small detail for Home Depot that was noticed. 👍🏻
I have a local Commercial Contracting Company and a Home Depot Pro account, I just started using the Pro Desk at this location this past summer to purchase in bulk, and its been a complete nightmare. They give you a projected pick up date and tell you that youll be notified when your purchase is ready, no one ever calls, and if they do you show up and no one can find your order, my last 2 orders have taken 2 months for me to receive my complete order, Ive spent over $25,000. In this store alone this year. And refuse to use that service again at this location, not only that they have no clue on how to keep stock in their store. Its the most pathetic Home Depot I go to, its like the elementary store. Unfortunately its the closest one to grab small material quickly, that is if its ever in stock, I dont care for Lowes but they force me to go there just about every day since its right next door and Im sure to find what I need there. The Customer Service at this location is the absolute worse out of any store, instead of solving problems they just keep passing you off to someone else until your so fed up you leave. This store is run extremely unprofessional, it starts at the top! The employees are a reflection of their Management.
Went here on a whim and walked out with a new double oven electric stove for less than $500! Sales associate, Cheryl, was the most attentive, helpful and courtesy employee I have ever encounteted at any Home Depot. She will definitely receive a 5 star review from me!!
VERY pleased with the young lady who helped me today. Ive been trying to find a part that I need for my Dremel tool for quite a while. She checked and there wasnt one. She checked the Chesapeake store and they had one but the clerk didnt want to hold it for me. She asked for the manager; long story short, I got my part. I didnt get her name but shes easy to spot with very long hair.
Plenty of parking space for RV, trailer, or even Mac Trucks. Large warehouse full of awesome. Handicap friendly. Great workers will help you the best they can. Everyone here deserves a raise. I love the smell of lumber. Great paint selections and a fully stocked electricians aisle. Prices are $$$ a little high to expensive. Lots of help there so speak up.
Always friendly staff and today I had left my wallet in the lumber cart with a little over $350 cash in it and im assuming one of the staff turned it in after finding it. To my surprise I didnt notice any money missing so honesty is another attribute to add to the list of positive things of this particular Home Depot.
Enjoyed thru the store looking at new house hold goods and the light the refrigerators n washer n dryers where my favorite to look at...employees where very helpful on helping me find items I was looking for just enjoyed the store all in general loved the freg wit everything u cld imagine on it internet download pictures u name it was great n price wasnt bad either
There are quite a few Handicap Accessible parking spots close to the entrance. This store also provides curb side service. Drive up to the front doors and they will help with large and heavy loads. There are a couple of motorized scooters available! Plan accordingly. Busy days equals longer wait times for these scooters. Was approached on several occasions by employees, asking if I found what I needed, or did I need help. The front desk staff person was wonderful. She walked me to the department because she was going to intervene all the questions on my behalf. Thats great customer service. A little later, I wanted to buy a drill, and since the gentleman had already gone home for the day and couldnt answer my questions, the manager, me, and another female employee opened up the boxes and started working out things on our own! (I have carpal tunnel, wanted a small DYI drill, it couldnt be too heavy, or one that was too light). I am very happy to have been able to have that help. I did buy one I think will work. Thanks!
Terrible!!!! We bought a $2500 GE refrigerator and had to wait weeks for delivery. It arrived on April 27 and ON THE SAME DAY began making loud noises!!! When we called Home Depot, the person in the appliance department told us that it was between us and GE and gave us an 800 number. The number was for the service department at GE and all they could do was give us a service appointment. What we really needed to do was go back to Home Depot!!! We only get 48 hours to report a defective new product!!! If we stuck with the service appointment we would have lost all defective product rights. We went back to Home Depot, raised a stink and were given to another employee. She contacted the correct GE department and supposedly GE will replace the defective product on May 27....A MONTH FROM NOW!!!!! This person did what did what Home Depot should have done to begin with. If we didnt go back to the store, we would have been stuck with only the factory warranty for repairs to protect us. BOTTOM LINE dont buy major appliances from Big Box hardware stores. They take no responsibility, lie to you on the phone, and dont care if you lose your rights to resolve issues with a defective product that they sold you!!!!!
Only reason I gave a 4 star is because I can never find someone working in the area I need help in. They are always either away or busy with someone else. 5 minute trips turn into 30 minutes. But on the plus side when they do have someone available they are normally very knowledgeable and have work around to many common problems.
Visited the Garden Department and needed assistance. Dede is awesome! Kind, helpful and hardworking! Ive been disappointed in Home Depot before with online orders and mix-ups, but she made my day today!
Super unfriendly. Walked in and no one spoke. Went down the aisle 9 bay 7 and walked past the associate working that section (older man) twice and both times he looked me dead in my face and didnt part his lips to speak not once to say hi, ask if i had found what i was looking for or how he could help. Then he sped off around the corner and went down a different aisle. Just rude. I wont be back. Shouldve gone to Lowes.

Good selection of tools. HOWEVER, the rental counter is a nightmare. Reserve at least ONE HOUR of your day to check out or check in any tools. Employees seem to operate on a less is more standard with regards to speed and efficiency. You have been warned.
Worst experience I have ever had to deal with. I rented a tool, returned it on time. Was charged twice the $50 deposit got my $7.60 back from the rental but Home depot is REFUSING to refund my $50 that wasnt even supposed to be taken out back to me. I talked to Jason and Chris the mangers on duty two different days and both said they will not refund me the money that wasnt supposed to come out. I told them what the STORE MANAGER said for me to do and they still refused to do as she said. Will NEVER use home deshit again. Worst place ever!
I’ve been waiting for over 45 minutes for my curbside pickup. Tried calling customer service and was on hold. Went inside and the desk really didn’t look busy. Meanwhile there were three workers just hanging out in the parking lot. I haven’t even seen someone come out to help anyone at curbside. Two people left since I got here because they were tired of waiting. One man even went in and talked to customer service and they never sent anyone out. I’ve never had such horrible customer service and didn’t expect to from somewhere with as good a reputation as Home Depot.

I have had the worst experience with Home Depot. Unless it requires something simple I will never make a big purchase with them again. I went in the beginning of April to purchase a storm door. It took the installer two weeks to come out and take measurements. Then I had to go back after the measurements and pay for the door all to find out that I had paid for someone elses order. They guy that assisted me put someone elses information on the paperwork. Then I go back to get that straightened out and the person whos order I paid for got a refund on my money! Do you not check card numbers or ask for the last 4 numbers on the card?! After all that I had to wait a month for the installer to come put the door up and its the wrong freaking door! All this to say I still do not have my storm door and I am very upset about it!
Home Depot is my happy place. Get what you need and dream about projects that will never happen because there isnt enough time in a day! Went today for plants and mulch but usually here multiple times a week for various things.

Brian in the flooring department helped me and he was awesome. Not only did he do all the paperwork but he also loaded it into my vehicle for me.
I asked an employee standing near by, if he could measure 2 trim boards that I needed. Reluctantly he walked over and huffed and mumbled something under his breath. I thought it was his job to assist customers, my mistake.
Clean and well organised. Freindly and very helpful employees. The item I wanted was listed as being in stock on a certain aisle in a certain slot/shelve, however it was not there, it was instead a couple aisles away on the very top shelf needing a forklift to get it down for me. I ran in on my lunch break to pick up some things and not having stuff where its supposed to be is very inconvenient. Luckily the employees sprang into action and saved my lunch break so I wasnt late to get back to work.
I wish I could give 10 stars! I buy all my Halloween stuff here every year. 2 names - unbelievable ladies: Destiny and Krissy.I approached Destiny first about a possible sold out 12 ft skeleton display. She was super friendly and quick to check if there was any stock in back. She then right away found out if I could purchase the display. She made me feel like the only customer during this time. She tried to get team members to help us, other team members stopped by as well everyone super friendly trying to figure out how to take this massive thing down. One girl I wish I could remember her name was quick to get online first to try to look up the instructions she was super awesome as well. During this whole ordeal Destiny was constantly involved and making sure everything was being taken care of as well as running back and making sure her other customers were being taken care of also, that is an excellent employee! Everyone wanted to help that stopped by. So many nice employees, I wish I could name them all. Another employee by the name of Krissy was quick to help as well. Let me tell you this girl researched online right away as well as studied how to put together and take down this skeleton. She was great at directing other team members, she was patient never flustered. Once we got some of the pieces apart we laid down the main part and Krissy with no hesitation was laying on the floor under this thing trying to take it apart. She also took time and gave me some great idea info about projectors! Again all the employees were wonderful. Destiny and Krissy were involved in the whole process, never seemed frustrated, made sure it was taken care of professionally. They made sure my mom and I had help with all of our items and in the end and asked if we needed help getting things out to our vehicle after ALL THAT! My family will always continue to shop at this location due to amazing employees like Destiny and Krissy who go above and beyond to make you feel important and excited about what youre getting. These 2 ladies deserve recognition for exceptional customer service, leadership, professionalism, team work..and so on...just making my day! Kindness goes a long way.. and the rest of my day was super positive because of it. Thank you ladies!! Home Depot is lucky to have you on their team! And a big thanks to all of the team members involved- recognition deserved for this group for sure!
Had a very helpful group of three women who assisted me in ringing up the item for a Christmas gift for my husband. They tried to get some guys to help me put it in my mini van but I changed it to home delivery because if its weight of 200lbs and I didnt think Id get it out of my car when I got home. Also the delivery gentleman were very nice and placed my purchase right where I asked them to do so in my garage. Would shop here again in the future.
One of the nicer Home Depots in Virginia. Selection and prices are the same as anywhere but staff seem friendly and helpful.

Great home depot! The staff was very friendly, especially Joya Im sure the spelling is wrong, but she was about to go on break and took the time to help me. She could of said no or got someone else, but she took the time out of her break to help me. Thank you for not only helping me, but also making my day. Ill definitely keep coming back.
Friendly staff: Going to Home Depot has always been a find memory of mine since I was a child. I think back to the sounds of forklifts and saws, and the smell of saw dust. What I often did not appreciate until I got older was the importance of customer service. This location honors that. During my first curbside pickup, the staff member was warm and helpful during a most brief interaction.I hope this location keeps such friendly staff.
Poor customer service. HD scheduled the delivery between hours of 1430-1830, show up at 1333 and left at 1345. Claimed that Noone was home to accept the delivery as the scheduled time was at 1430... Zero customer service, passed around for over 3hrs on the phone. David (store manager) very rude, back talking, and all out disrespectful towards my wife when trying to schedule the delivery of the refrigerator ASAP. Called corporate with Zero resolve. Will not be buying anything additional from this store.

Went to the 1400 Tintern St, Chesapeake location for a curbside pickup. Checked in on the app and waited 20 minutes. No one came out with my order. So, I went inside and got in 1 of the 2 lines at the customer service desk. When it was my turn, the associate looked me dead in the eye, yelled toward the back that she was going on break, and walked right off. I had to then wait at the end of the other line.

Went to Red Mill HD to buy some towel hooks. Inventory showed three in stock. Arrived and found zero. Went to Chesapeke HD. Inventory was correct. Purchased three.

Bought rock, sand and 70 bags of mulch. The guys loaded the stuff in my van and were pleasant while doing it.
Ordered fence materials, they sorted us almost 30 pockets so couldnt finish the job in a weekend. Said they couldnt deliver them for 2 weeks but I could pick them up. Showed up to pick them up and they sent me to collect them myself from the stack. Surprise! they didnt have them in stock. This is extremely unprofessional and I will certainly not be back.
Sometimes wonder why I go there. Decreasing selection and items carried is getting ridiculous. However they did have the items I was looking for this time.
I ordered single and double bathroom cabinets, I only got the single and not the double cabinet. They claimed it was delivered. After 4 attempts to the store. Thanks Ms Theresa of battlefield Va, she was very helpful. However, til day, no vanity and no refund. I am frustrated.
Hung out for about an hour. Not too much to see. It’s your usual neighborhood Home Depot. Kinda wish they had a food court because I got kinda parched walking around trying to find what I needed. Got some help from a pretty average employee she offered an adequate amount of help I guess. Nobody said anything about having my dog with me as well even though the door said no pets. 6/10. If they had a food court I’d give it 8/10.

Came into the store at 8:40 pm to get blinds cut for the second time today. Was told they have no one available to operate the blind cutting machine. This is such a simple task. 20 mins before they even close. Thank you for nothing but a waste of time.

I didn’t catch the guy’s name; but the gentleman working on Sunday Aug 1st was extremely helpful and went out of his way to make recommendations for our particular idea. We came in with a certain shopping list in mind and ended up with a complete different assortment that we liked even better; all thanks to his guidance. Great job!

Considering Ive lived in the area for three years now, this was my first time at this home depot. I placed an order online for pickup and went ahead to the store. I called prior to leaving to see if I could just grab the item myself and bring it to the customer service desk. She said thatd be fine, that my order had four others in front of it. By that statement, Id honestly thought they were very busy for a Wednesday night. It was about 7.30p when I got there, parking lot empty, store relatively empty. In my mind i thought, OKAY, WHY WOULD IT TAKE SO LONG TO FILL THE ORDER???? I grab my item and wait at the customer service desk where there was only one guy, a couple employees probably on break. I was in no rush. They were polite when she eventually walked over. And they were polite over the phone. Overall my experience wasnt the greatest but I think I was there a tad longer than I needed to be. Had I been in a rush or more people it wouldve made more sense. But sense I got what I needed and no one was rude and it was relatively smooth, I gave its really more like 3.5 stars but i round up.

I experienced very slow customer service but yet they are quick to cancel your order even when there is stock available at the store where I picked up. I had to take my time to reorder the 2 items that I wanted to gather with the rest of my order. And I also had requested by email to hold my entire order until everything was delivered to the store & be ready for pickup.
Had an issue with a tool battery malfunctioning. Dede at customer service went above and beyond to make things right. I will continue to shop at this store in particular because of the great customer service. Thank you again Dede

A Home Depot staff member named Bobby in Plumbing helped me tremendously today. I needed advice & help with a unique configuration to install my bidet, he explained everything in full detail. I left very happy with the parts I needed to finish installing my bidet. This particular home depot has very knowledgeable and caring employees, I really appreciated the help today.

I should have gone to cashier school. I would like a w2 and benefits package. There was only 1 cashier down at the contractor end. Everything else was self serve. I had a big order and it took forever.
*2020: Absolutely love the customer service here, even though during peak months/hours it does the team members are overwhelmed, the culture of the store here is very much like your neighborhood family hardware store.*July2021: Fred in lighting section today helped us find our light bulb. He was very friendly and at first couldnt find the bulb we were looking for with him. But after we went on to look at other areas, he found it, and then found us in the store to let us know they had it. Thank you Fred!

I went to the Home Depot looking for plants and painting supplies - I found a huge supply of both. The store is extremely large but the friendly employees helped me find everything I need and answered all my questions! The lines look long, but thats just the social distancing effect - they moved really quickly and proved to be shorter than they first appeared. Great prices, great stock, and AMAZING people!

Having a Home Depot next to a Lowes you would think it would spur some competition. Well it hasnt, this home depot lacks customer service, good staff and an overall care.
I was having a rough day stopped in to pick up a few items. On the register today was a young lady named Erin she was very polite and helpful. I appreciated her kindness she made my day.
Great selection of items (like Lowes).One drawback: self-checkout folks have to use a handheld scanner as you cant just wave the items over something that scans.

Love it! Yes, sometimes it’s hard to find help, but then I remember lol the store isn’t just for me! So patience is a good thing to have. Good prices and easy in and out if you’re familiar with the area.
It was certainly different. Trying to purchase and have a Rheem hot water heater installed is a whole new process in itself. Still waiting on a call back, had to leave store.
