This one is a little rough around the edges but you do get Edwins trademark quality. The ambience is lovely and food is great. We had biscuits and gravy along with corn beef, toast and coffee. Coffee was bold and strong. The biscuits and gravy seemed a little different but they were really tasty. Given this is Slymans land, the corn beef was noteworthy too. Overall, a stellar experience.
Edwins bakery is always a great place to go for brunch. You have to try the Edwins omelette or the egg sandwich on croissant. Service is always excellent, and the store is a great place to pick up some tasty treats from the butcher or Baker
I think the experience was intended to be a good one but when the finger went into my pastry I had to stop. There were only about six items of bakery to choose from anyway. I believe that its a bit overpriced and also I would recommend that all employees wear gloves and wash hands.
Sweet people, my 25 months old munched on their treats for 2 days!Ask about their day old pastries...
Best baked food in Cleveland! And it is for a good cause!
I had to ponder on whether I left this review or not because I really love Edwins and it’s mission. My food was so-so but I understand it was busy(fried home fries and a wet Omellette.) But my concern came from the staff. My waiter was extremely polite and professional and always is, but management seems to be officiating plantation style. One of them yelled at the waiter because he printed menus and I couldn’t understand why anyone would speak that way to an employee. It’s a racial element to this that made me extremely uncomfortable and I can say for sure I won’t be back.
Took my daughter to breakfast. The food was awesome!!! Our waiter was extremely nice and so was all the staff we ran into. I will be eating there again.
Waited a half an hour for the counter girl to get me my cake which was ALREADY PAID FOR! Totally oblivious! Great cake horrible customer service.
The best breakfast of my life. Prepare to be impressed.
Breakfast sandwich was okay. Mocha was made with hot cocoa mix. Too sweet.
Excellent bread and excellent pastries, even if the choice is, stiil (this was only their second day of operation), limited. The palmiers are TDF!!! We also tried their excellent pain au chocolat (chocolate croissant) and pain couronne (crown bread). Pictured here: their honey bread and Congolais (macaroons in English) that I long for tasting :)
Danish was so good ad fresh
My First visit Jan 6 2021 the food was decent, The atmosphere was, let’s say I was surprised on how dirty and in swept the floor was, also the server was all over the place, the food took over 45 minutes and my party of 3 was the only one there. Now today January 10 2021 my brother wanted to check it out so I reluctantly went. The floor was extremely dirty I gues their not required to sweep, the breakfast took 45 minutes, steak was dry from steak and eggs, I got burnt bacon and the Worse MY CUP WAS FILTHY and I drink out of it ( coffee) The place has an I don’t care attitude probably from the location, such a waste of money and time
Great food and a pleasant atmosphere
Quality control. Stopped by to pick up two of the palmiers which have been favorably reviewed. The underlying pastry was buttery and flaky but for some reason they had been sprinkled with salt. I called them to tell them but didn’t seem excited about it. I know it’s a small mistake but I’m halfway between two outstanding bakeries.
Jamal was very polite. Delivered the best super mocha drink. And a wonderful corned beef hash.He checked to see if I needed anything during my meal several times.Everyone of the staff or management I encountered greeted me.Great customer service.
My breakfast took 25mins. But was delicious!!
Food was delicious excellent service
Awesome customer service!! And the food was absolutely amazing!! Will definitely return soon..
A training bakery for Edwins on Shaker Square located on the training facility on Buckeye road near S. Moreland. I have not dined in at this location but the take home bakery is always fresh & tasty. Sometimes they have vegan and gluten free items, but call ahead if your interested, some items sell out fast. Bakery is made daily and day old items as sold for less. Only problem-they have on street parking only & sometimes difficult to find a spot with Edwins butcher shop right next door. Best to park on S. Moreland not anywhere else down Buckeye if you cant find parking.
Great place to have breakfast at, Or just for on the go excellent staff!A breath of fresh air to the community
It is a beautiful totally amazing place with the friendliest staff anywhere. The Zoss inspired bread and pastries are delicious and made with BUTTER!! The butcher shop has a great selection in small quantities of chicken, pork and beef. They also prepare takeout sandwiches, chicken and fish made to order. EVERYTHING is cheaper AND BETTER than any grocery store. And the diner has an incredible selection of egg dishes and pancakes/waffles again all prepared to order and reasonably priced. If I didn’t live on the west side I would go every day. I will go weekly though. Brandon C is the greatest and his contribution to the Buckeye neighborhood along with his unique well trained staff is a true success story!
Great food and service!
Excellent food. You can really taste the ingredients are very high quality. I highly recommend the pecan pie.
Nice place. Good Pastries. Will have to try the breakfast menu next time.
Breakfast was excellent. This place is a hidden gem...definitely will be back.
Hashbrowns hard/undercooked. Pancake and French toast undercooked. Ordered grits which weren’t included. Online menu not the same as in the restaurant so hashbrowns weren’t included with $9 French toast breakfast. Waited another 30 mins for hard inedible potatoes. Waste of time and money. Sad I was hoping to finally have a breakfast spot.
I appreciate the training of culinary skills this business offers to men and women and helping to able them to be marketable as employees. Thank you!!
It was my first time there and the experience wsnt as pleasant, getting breakfast was long waiting we were the only ones there, the food was sent back for burnt, dry, cups were dirty, it was not as pleasant as was recommended
Breakfast here is outstanding with a variety of menu choices, including house made pastries and meats and delicious coffee (unlimited refills), perfect service, and a lovely, comfortable and clean dining area. Very close to Shaker Square and Larchmere, plenty of free street parking. Prices are extremely reasonable compared with other breakfast places in the Heights.
Loved the bakery. I bought a chocolate chip croissant, a linzer, cranberry scone and a cheesy pretzel. Ive not yet tasted everything as I bought so much, but the pretzel and croissant were delicious.
The Pecan Pie Tart was delicious. Cant wait to try the Chocolate Papillon & the Palmiers.
Excellent bakery and a variety of rolls and pastry.
Fresh good pastries. (Need more chocolate choices).
Outstanding, only needs more help behind the counter......
Food is great service was great very welcoming .
Nice space, tasty treats, great prices, and wonderful cause. Very highly recommended!
Excellent
I have dined at both at the bakery and Restraunt and have had a positive experience except on my recent visit to the bakery for breakfast. The Restraunt was busy and we had to wait for a table which was ok. After being seated we waited quite a long time before being waited on but we understood they were pretty busy. After placing our order we again had a very long wait. After awhile we began to notice that a number of people who were seated long after us were eating and in some cases finishing their meals. We asked our waitress if she could check on our order. After waiting again she returned to our table and said she forgot to put our order in. We finally got our meal and found that a number of items were incorrect. For example, I ordered sausage with my eggs but got bacon. As we were finishing our meal the owner asked how everything was and we told him that the food was fine but we were not happy with the service. He apologized and said that we would not be charged for the meal.Shortly, thereafter the waitress said she would get our bill and I gave her my credit card. When she returned with the bill and credit card I noticed the bill was not ours as it had a number of items that we did not order. The waitress went to check on our bill and returned with the owner to our table. He said that he had pulled our bill and the meal was free. My wife explained that we didn’t expect him to pay for our meal but he insisted. We left a cash tip and left.Today I checked my credit card statement and found I was charged for the bill that wasn’t even ours. $48.06. So I not only didn’t get a free meal I got charged about double what my bill should have been☹️☹️
The food was delicious, and the service was excellent.
Cashier in the pasterie section was awesome
