Steve Chase gave patient, knowledgeable and completely professional service before during and after my carpet purchase. He came to my home promptly twice with many samples, explaining the benefits of each type of carpet. He arranged for the best installers and worked with me to examine the carpet in the warehouse prior to installation, pulling the roll and having it open and ready when I got there. He also had the original sample there for me to compare. He made numerous helpful phone calls to me to remind me where I was in the carpet process.I am happy with the smart strand brand carpet quality, softness and look.The installers Jose and Victor did an excellent job. They were very careful moving my furniture and returning the furniture to the exact location. The job was very good. They were courteous, friendlyand very respectful.Thank you Steve, Jose and Victor. Steve Chase was our salesman and was wonderful! He knows his hardwoods and was very helpful. We had about 1600 square feet of hardwood put in our home, including stairs to the lower level. Our installer, Josh, was absolutely the best. His knowledge of wood flooring was very thorough. He worked alone and did the carpet tear out, furniture moving in a way that was minimally disruptive.When some additional work was needed to do our stairs, we were not charged any more money. Josh was thorough and very professional.We are thrilled with our wood floors and will most certainly go back to Academy Carpet to get our tile for our entryway and master bath.

My wife and I had looked at multiple places to re-carpet our main level after purchasing an existing home. We had the best experience at Academy Carpet. Steve quickly came to help us and brought us to samples in our price range. He came out an measured and gave us a quote on the spot. I waited four different times for academy carpets installation crew to get to my apartment to stretch the carpet. After being an hour late the fourth time, i called my property management and had them cancel the installation altogether. It took over a month after the initial inspection was made to even hear back from academy carpet about this. I was told this was my property managements fault (at this point that is in serious doubt). I finally received a text from Bob out of the blue saying that their crew had showed up at my house (without any appointment) and that I wasnt home and they wanted to schedule an appointment now. We scheduled one over text for the next day between one and four. The next day I cleared out the two rooms they were supposed to stretch the carpet in. Come four oclock they werent there and I hadnt heard from them. At five oclock I called them and they told me they werent able to make it out that day and that the installer didnt speak English well and that was where the problem was. We rescheduled for 9-9:30 Saturday morning. When no one showed up by 9:30 I canceled again because I had to work at 10:30. I was told that again the installation crew was at fault, that they didnt realize that they had to be there at the time the appointment was scheduled and that they had gone to another job first. On Tuesday morning I tried again for 9-9:30. This morning i had to be to work at ten but my girlfriend would be home. They were not there at 9:30 and at 9:45 I left for work. After getting to work I missed a call with no voicemail which was apparently their installer. My girlfriend called the back and rescheduled a fourth time for between 2 and 3 that afternoon. At four oclock we had received no call or anything from them and called them again. We were told that they would find out where their installer was and get back to us. At that point we called our property management and asked them to cancel our appointment. A little while later we received a call from someone at academy carpet saying they would be there in forty five minutes, we didnt give this person the opportunity to not show up.

We just had vinyl tile installed in our master bath, walk in closet and guest bath and are extremely pleased with the results. These are individual tiles that look exactly like natural stone. Steve Chase provided us very good service and our tile installer, Josh, did a fantastic job of making the installation beautiful. The result is so realistic that only by touching the tile would you know it is vinyl rather than stone. Grouting between each tile enhances the illusion of natural stone.Academy Carpet also installed new carpeting on the upper level of the house and did an equally impressive job. The head installer Edger and his crew completed the work in an amazingly short time and we are equally pleased with the results. Steve really worked with us to get the job done within our budget and yet to insure we were not compromising on the quality of the materials.We would certainly give Steve Chase and Academy Carpets our full endorsement.

We just had Academy Carpet install carpet in a small private residence. There were many precision cuts needed as the rooms had a lot of cut outs. In other words the rooms were not square. They installed the carpet with all the cutouts in two adjoining rooms with NO SEAMS. Steve, the salesman was extremely knowledgeable and very pleasant. He came to the residence to take the measurements and scheduled an installation date. The technicians that came to install the carpet were out of this world. They took the time to do the job right. I highly recommend Academy Carpet. They will be my #1 choice if I ever need to have carpet installed again.

He measured and quoted a very good price for some higher end carpet while in our home. Carpet was shipped about a week earlier than promised. The installation crew were awesome. From start to finish, a very good experience for us. We cant speak highly enough of Steve and the Academy Carpet team. Yesterday, we had Steve out to give us a quote on a property we are selling and once again, he came thru with amazing pricing.

The quote I got for flooring was about 3000 more ( over double the cost) than the competitors ... not only for overpriced material but insane labor cost. We have gotten quotes at several reputable installers and Academy carpet was by far the most expensive option! The two guys in the store did not provide much info on the materials they actually sell, was vague and un-helpful. I am a serious buyer - how are you going to convince me to purchase from you if you dont show me color samples and point out options and quality differences? Weird place!

They installed cork flooring in my basement bar and turned out great. The installer was very professional and wanted me to be happy with the install. He grinded down the high spots in the concrete so the cork would lay flat and did a pretty good job. There are some spots where the cork flexes but its very minimal. You can have them fill in the low spots of the concrete but the added cost can be quite high and just isnt worth it, in my opinion.The salesman, Steve Chase, was a great guy to work with. He was very courteous, and worked within my budget and schedule for getting the job done. Youll get a great price and great service with Academy, and ask for Steve.

We werent really sure what we were looking for since we were trying to choose something that a potential buyer will like. Steve was our salesman and he was patient while helping us to find something universal that would look great in our house. I recently had the carpet replaced in our basement by Academy. Steve made sure that the measurements were correct, and the job was done in under one week! It looks great and I expect theyd be helpful should anything else need attention.

Pushy salesman that gave us one price and when we agreed to buy, he suddenly added freight charges to the total - as in freight to the store, he told us it couldnt be shipped to the house. When we told him we wouldnt agree to that, he petulantly tore up the contract in our face. Amazing quality service, but we just had to go with the same product for less than half off online that would deliver to our house.

Steve Chase exhibited excellent customer service and follow-up! We had carpet installed on our stairs and upper level- including having the installers move all of our bedroom furniture. Concur with the previous 3 reviews. I had hardwood floors, carpet and bathroom tiles installed. The hardwood floors started to bow the day after installation. There were 3/4 inch gaps between the floor and the walls, it was difficult finding molding wide enough to cover the gaps. As for the carpet, theres no amount of rubbing that can cover up where the carpets were joined. The joints are actually raised with hard lumps where the glue was over applied. Now, for the tile job. No sealants were applied (I guess thats not so uncommon, was shocking to me) and the toilet leaked because they didnt compensate for the tile heights. It took them over a week to come out and fix the toilet issue.Overall, the installers took 4 days to complete the tasks (including the get back out here and correct this crap days). They never showed up on time and never cleaned up after the days work. The sales manager was not only rude on the phone, but was short with me as he told me he was going to charge my card for the remainder of the bill. Only after me driving to the store and having a face to face conversation did I get some kinda corrective action.If youre going to go with this company, NEVER give them your credit card! Use a check for the deposit. If you want something professional and something to show your friends, go someplace else.

Very pleased, start to finish, with Steve Chases handling of my new carpet order. His estimate for the carpet amount needed to do the job was less than two previous estimates and I still had a bit left over. Edgar, the installer, was also very professional and pleasant. All in all, a good experience, I would recommend them.

Our experience with Academy Carpet Company was a 10+. My husband and I decided to replace the original builder carpets and vinyl in our home. We had shopped around for some time at different flooring stores and home centers. We were somewhat confused and frustrated trying to find the right flooring that would perform well but not stretch our budget too far. We saw several carpets, hardwoods, and laminates that we thought we would like, but found the sales people somewhat indifferent, or not very knowledgeable about the products. In some cases we felt like we knew more from our online research than they did. In other cases they seemed to want to sell us something that they wanted us to buy. Then I called Academy Carpet and talk to Steve Chase. Steve was very patient and listened to me rant about all that we had seen and heard and been through so far. Steve was very knowledgeable about carpet, hardwood and laminate flooring. He explained the differences in the underlay and why we may choose one over another. He was also very specific about the details that may be involved in our project. I was very comfortable talking to Steve. He then offered to bring samples to the house so that we could shop at home, something no one else had offered. When we met Steve he was very polite and patient. He measured the rooms, and showed us exactly the kinds of carpet and flooring we described to him over the phone. We made a few different selections and Steve worked out all of the pricing on the different products so that we could compare the bottom line and make a decision that we were comfortable with. It was a fantastic experience! It was so easy that we wish we would have known about Academy Carpet and Steve Chase before we had done all of that laborious running around that got us nowhere. We are very happy with our final selections and the price was very reasonable. I should also say that the installers did a fantastic job with our engineered hardwood and Shaw carpet. They were very professional, careful with our furniture, did a great job installing, and cleaned up when they were finished. The house looks great now, and we are very satisfied with everything that Academy Carpet has done for us. We have some future projects in the planning stages, and its good to know we wont have to go running around looking for flooring. I can just pick up the phone and call Steve Chase at Academy Carpet! Im loving it!

Im not just giving this place a bad name for the giggles. I like to give the benefit of the doubt usually but this place doesnt deserve it. They were borderline rude from the first time I went in there. Installers never ever showed up when they were supposed to and when I called to ask what was up I got the run around on the phone. The first installer left two glaring mistakes (think unsealed seams that were popping up so much I tripped on one). It was like pulling teeth to get them out to fix it. Like I say, not posting this just to complain, but to warn other people that this is what this place was like to me. I would never recommend them to anyone and would never go back.

Well where to start - I give this company some credit for effort and finally getting a good ending but not it is worth the effort of using this service again - Unresponsive owner to problems appears he or she likes to avoid customers - damage to interior included scratch furniture and a hole in the dry wall. Effort was made to repair but now I have to spend more money to paint the downstairs as color did not match. Frustrating process as scheduling goes, workers did not even show up the first day after I took us from work, finally got a call after waiting well over an hour. This scheduling issued happened twice. Just surprised that Costco is using Academy Carpet seems below their standard. Good news a few friends were about to use them and saved them from this experience. Should have listened to other friends who said dont use them - lesson learned - anyone know a good flooring company in town as I have to finish a few other items

Randy, our salesman, took care of us after a bad installation took place. He took full responsibility and payed for damages and new flooring. As a customer, I cant ask for anything else. Thanks again Randy and Academy Carpet for making a horrible experience into a stress free situation for my wife and I.

We tried to buy carpet at Academy Carpet. We really did. But we ended up walking out of there after the worst sales experience ever. The salesman was downright rude to us and, as if we were at a used car lot, literally said, What would it take to get you in this carpet today? We had only been in there a few minutes and told him basically what we were looking for and the pressure was ridiculous. He also said, Whats your problem, you know what you want? Well I guess what we really wanted was to be treated with some respect.

We had to purchase carpet for a home out of state. Steve Chase helped us with the type of carpet and the color. Installation was quick and their price was terrific!

I just had Academy Carpet install ceramic tile in my kitchen, pantry & powder room - & I love it! Ive wanted to do updates for years & was nervous about it, but it turned out to be a good decision. The salesman Steve was very patient & helped me find just the right style to look appropriate in my 105-year-old house, & I never felt pressured to make a decision. The installers showed up on time, were very polite & careful around my antique furniture, & they did a nice job of cleaning up afterwards. Steve even came by afterwards to make sure everything was just the way I wanted it. Not many companies provide that kind of service these days, so Im very pleased with the experience & am now planning my next room makeover. :)

Terrible customer service!We got our carpets removed by them and got hard wood floor instead. The outcome is amazing, but the promised 3-5 days turned out to be 2 month!We spent a lot of time waiting on their workers and one day we ended up waiting 5 hours with no one showing up! I called a few times and was being lied to on the phone that the workers are already on their way to our house, well nobody ever came! The day the workers actually showed up I asked them where they were that day, finding out, they didnt even have a work order for that day! I talked to the sales associate we set that whole deal up and he told me we could work on the final price, since we were missing out paid time at work! End of story, ended up paying full amount, allegedly he talked to his manager and there is nothing they can do, and I could be happy that they didnt charge me for a wrong part that was delivered to them!Worst customer service ever and definitely not worth the price!

Posted my first horrible review on here and it doesnt even show. Therefore posting another review. Bill Cagle is avoiding following up on carpet complaint which was started last Oct 2018. Says one thing and doesnt complete. Never ever use this company.

Updated, owner lied to/about this disabled veteran yet again.They flat out lied to me, all of them. Everyone from the sales person on the floor, to the manager last that day we selected them, and later even the install scheduler, told me they could take care of subfloor issues.The day of the install, Actually, we cant replace one board of subfloor. Youll have to find someone else.This halted the install mid process, costing me a premium to get the fix done in a hurry..... while secondary issue arose with Academy Carpet refusing to pay the installer, causing him to have to leave the job site to drive back into town or not get paid.Apparently they pissed the guy off, who came back angry and damaged basically every wall in my house he worked near while he angrily installed our carpet.Every wall we just laid to re-paint has score / tool marks, some very deep into the drywall. The images added here are a mere sample of the damage.They lied to us, cost me more for a repair I could have had a contractor on months ago, held up our install, and damaged our freshly painted walls, the multiple delays which are costing us even more time before we can put our old house on the market, and longer we have to pay the bills at a second home.Academy Carpet has seriously screwed us several times over in this single exchange; we strongly recommend you find any random homeless person with one arm and no legs instead of Academy Carpet, youll have a better experience with less headache.***UPDATE****Got a call from the sales manager (also Randy), “We have two new options for you unfortunately with you complaining to BBB and all...” (It was actually a review.) “...the owner wants payment in full or we can charge you for materials, and let you find your own installer. He thinks you might not pay after we finish now.”He repeated this worded several ways, but the punchline was, “we lied and did several shady things to you, but the owner says pay us or we won’t even schedule a finish, cause we don’t trust you now.” -While breaking a second agreement with me, I was to pay the second half on completion.My review, is 100% honest. With pics to support my claims. I’ve got tons more pics. What a sorry thing to do to a customer your company lied to, cost money, and massively inconvenienced.What an owner....******NEW UPDATE!We apologized and reimbursed... blah-blagh. -OwnerLiars to the end months later. They never apologized, they responded by leaving flooring material and toilets in my yard trying to get back at me for reviewing their business, not an apology. Cleaning up after ourselves isnt in your contact. And I then had to threaten to sue them to get the promised reimbursement for my walls their installer damaged. There were no baseboards, this portion of the owners response is another fabrication. Check the BBB review where the lying owner claimed all the damage was higher up on the walls away from where our installers worked. I offer the pics here as proof of this owners consistent LYING.Only when they realized I had pics & msgs from them PROVING ALL MY CLAIMS did they back down and pay for the damage their installer did.Seriously, any random homeless person with 1 arms and no legs is a better choice than the Academy Carpet Liars to do carpet business with.

Feb 2012: Stay far, far away!!! Dishonest from the sales manager down to the installers. Had problems with carpet after installation. They would do nothing. It even took us 3 months to get them to provide warranty information on the carpet they sold us. I cant believe they have an A+ rating with the Southern Colorado BBB. Just goes to show you that you can not always trust those ratings. Tell all your friends - stay away from this place.
