This was my first time to use Belmont Garage. I was very impressed. Ive been taking my car to the dealer for years but since my car is out of warranty I decided to give my local garage a shot.They took a good look at my Audi and told me that it could go several more months without needing new brakes. There wasnt even a charge. Kathy and her team will have a repeat customer.

Belmont Garage at the corner of Lakewood Boulevard and Abrams is my local garage. I can drop off my car for repairs or inspection, and walk to Starbucks, Whole Foods or walk home. They are very affable, competent and efficient. I always call ahead, but Ive never had to wait very long to get my car serviced. During the pandemic they have an outside window to which you can walk up instead of going inside. They always leave my car clean and tidy. I highly recommend them if you live in the Lakewood area.

As a single mom, I’m always worried when it comes to car shops and repair. However, I took my Lexus in to get a new fuel tank and they did a fantastic job! They were professional, trustworthy, timely, and helped a girl out! Will definitely use them again.

It’s now a few months and a few thousand miles later and the starter motor installed at Belmont has only functioned with perfect excellence. I have used Belmont Garage for multiple years and multiple cars. Helpful. Fair. Trustworthy.They are a small shop and arent always able to get to things on my time table but if I called ahead they told me how long the line was to get things done. Getting work done by someone I could trust was worth that minor inconvenience.The other thing they did for me was give me advice about cars in general. In International Diplomacy, I believe that is called being an honest broker. Belmont Garage is an honest broker. They made suggestions for where to go to get a fair deal on tires and car body work and where to go to buy a used car. They even played Match-Maker one time to help me sell one of my cars.

These guys are the best! Honest and trustworthy. Car repairs are so frustrating, so it is a relief to find a company that is fair and dependable! They took care of me like I was family!

They were able to do a major brake overhaul on my vehicle in the middle of the afternoon and got me back running before 5 p.m. And they shopped around to find cheaper parts. Even had time to do an oil change before I picked up the car. Great service from people you can trust.

We have had several disappointing experiences with this garage, mostly due to what seems to be an unwillingness to work with us. We like to work with people who are open in their communication, even if they cant help with the car issue, however, it is very disconcerting to be talked down to, ignored or treated as a pain. We were initially excited about the close proximity, but now will have to either put up with being treated as a bother or try to find a new decent mechanic.We have appreciated the quick turn around, sometimes having a car to borrow, and they have done good work. Maybe someone else will have a more positive experience with their communication.

I have used this company several times in the past and have been happy with their work. However, today I questioned an estimate and was screamed and cursed at by the receptionist. This is rude, inappropriate and totally unacceptable and unprofessional behavior. It appears that since Mr. Lewis retired, there is little or no oversight of this arrogant employee. I will never use this company again.

I have a 2001 Jeep Wrangler and Id been having some consistent trouble with it. I brought it to Belmont Garage based on the online reviews I had read, and I have been extremely pleased. The mechanic replace my drive belts, tensionner and idler and the Jeep has been running beautifully ever since. Its been close to a 1000 miles since the service and its really been great. I cant say enough about how much I appreciate their help. Id recommend this shop to anyone with a Jeep.

Belmont garage is one of those rare gems of a business that reminds you of the 50’s -60’s era. I walk in the door and know they are quoting work that only needs to be done. I did my due diligence 10 years ago, still coming back today and getting timing belt for my Lexus GX 470. Highly recommend this place, I also come here to evaluate any used car (pre- purchase inspection). KAT is the point of contact, great representative and subject matter expert! She shoots straight from the hip.This single mom trusts, and recommends highly!

Recently my Toyota Highlander would not start. You cant even get it to shift when that happens. Called Kat and she sent a wrecker to pick up the car. Within two hours she called me and told me all it needed was a new battery. I checked the price of the recommended batteries for my make and model - Belmont was $25 less than what was listed!Just one more reason we have been using Rays Belmont Garage to service our vehicles for the last twenty years and seven different vehicles. Never have we had a negative experience, or felt ripped-off, or treated disrespectfully by the staff. This experience is no different. We normally call the day before to see how busy the garage is, leave the car at the garage that night, and picked it up completely repaired the next afternoon. How much better can it get?

Last Friday (Sept. 9 2016) I had to get new brakes on a BMW X5 - was quoted one price before I left (with one of their loaner cars which is a great perk..). Was called a bit later after they found out I had the M-Sport package that included upgraded rotors/pads/etc. that was much more expensive to replace. She called to ask if I was aware of the package, which I wasnt (I dont have the M5 but a dolled-up 5.0), but said she didnt want to be one of those garages that re-traded after a customer dropped their car off and stated that they would stand by their original price. They fixed my car at cost, minimum, and probably even lost a few dollars in the name of honesty and integrity; if I could give 6 stars I would.

I have been using Belmont for 35 years. I like the people and they have always been available when I need help. I prefer to use neighborhood merchants and keep the business in East Dallas.

They tested my brakes (Toyota Prius) after a warning light came on. They said they had pinpointed the exact issue and it was something the dealer would have to fix. On the way home, my hub cap flew off - they did not put it on correctly. I figured they probably didnt run their diagnostics correctly either so took my car to another brake shop the next day. The new shop said the brake pad was rusty and scrubbed it with a steel brush. Brake lights went off. Problem fixed. I would not trust Belmont Garage. They speak with an assumed authority but, at least in my case, do a poor and ill-informed job. Avoid this place.

After about 20 years of (not cheap) experience with Belmont Garage, they created a horrific, & very expensive situation for my car & myself. They had done some repairs & forgot to add the oil back. In the middle of traffic the car threw a rod - I had to put an entire new engine in a car with about 60,000 miles on it!Not only did they refuse to take responsibility for the situation, but charged a hefty sum to tow it back to their garage. I then had another towing charge to take the car to a different garage, since I no longer had any trust in this business.

The rumors are true. Great, speedy, trustworthy, and affordable service.

I took my car in for brakes and they did a wonderful job, now it brakes nicely!

Service was fast and reliable. They even let me use their car while mine was in the shop overnight. However, the total sum was hefty! The remanufactured alternator they ordered was so expensive, i dont even know where they got it and what brand it is. A quick internet search gives you top reliable and 100% new alts in the market for half the price! They didnt give me any choice... So do your own price check before going here.

My experience at belmont garage was absolutely fantastic. very honest people felt very good about the whole experience. kat who help me explain everything to me where i could understand. the greatest thing she said Laurie iam not just start throwing parts in your truck . they did a diagnostic my check engine light came on after my son -n-law had replace the fuel pump fuel filter fuel relay. she said Laurie probly what happen was when ever you place fuel pump it gets a little gunk in it . and then it cleared it out. another garage told me needed lifters coilpack and plugs. at the tune of $950.00 to repair. iam so thankful that i had been told by lady friend of mine about belmont garage. she said they very honest and fair people. since then i have referd to other lady friends and they had the same great experience. i with out a doubt be going back for all my auto needs.and telling every one i no about belmont garage Thank you belmont garagelaurie

I was really excited to try this garage, given the reviews. I called to get more information on availability and pricing for an on-going issue Ive been having with my car for several months. Ive already taken my car into another garage, paid a couple hundred dollars for them to run their diagnostics and identify the problem, only to learn they werent able to identify the specific issue, so instead recommended replacing the whole system to be safe (they didnt have the proper equipment, which many garages dont, to identify this specific nuanced issue and where the leak is occurring). Needless to say, I did not move forward with the expensive system replacement based solely on the other garages recommendation.Given my recent experience at another garage, I was asking the front desk attendant at Belmont Garage some clarifying questions around exact process, cost, and reliability of their diagnostics equipment before making the decision on whether I wanted to use them for my auto repairs. The response I received was annoyed, condescending, and snarky. She seemed highly offended that I would ask a clarifying question around their equipment capabilities. My car just hit 50k miles so I anticipate quite a few maintenance visits in the near future; unfortunately for Belmont Garage they just lost my business and a few thousand dollars.Hopefully my experience was an anomaly, but this certainly wasnt the honest and helpful neighborhood garage I was expecting.
