I spent several weeks contemplating spending $500 for a new bedding set since that is a significant investment. I finally decided to get the set that included sheets, two sets of pillow cases along with the duvet cover and was thrilled when they arrived. Washed in cold and dried on low (didn’t even dry completely) before putting on the bed. I was really surprised by how small the pillow cases were. They don’t even cover the end my standard pillows (Casper pillows from Target). The duvet was great. Sheets were great. I emailed them asking if I could possibly exchange all four for ONE King set of pillowcases which I would then have to have altered or if I could purchase the King set at wholesale cost, etc. Again, this is me offering to spend more money with them and then spend money to have them altered, which is super aggravating, but I was just trying to find a way to make it work. Back and forth with them via email, they offered no support whatsoever. Can’t return once washed. Only “discount” offer was to tell me that I could purchase a “build your own bundle” for $455 which would give me a 15% discount. Seriously, this is what they offered. Do not buy unless you have tiny pillows.*Note - seeing their reply is hysterical. There was never any offer of resolution beyond the 15% off of another $455 bundle ...

Wrong rug was mailed. For a $1500 rug I expected more. When I got it the colors were dull, and it was more of a mat than a rug. Absolutely zero padding.

My interaction with the Citizenry went off to a bumpy start, but I later realized that they were just overwhelmed with orders while having too little personnel. The manager got to my order around midnight CT, after I already had an email exchange with her early morning, which tells you something about their dedication. Great customer service, now Im waiting for the product.

I placed an order for a bedding set due to ship out a month later (07/18), the deadline came and went and no notice of shipping or otherwise. I went to the website to see if I could get info and I noticed that other colors were available for shipment 2 days later. I called and inquired about my original order and was decided that the original order would be cancelled and I placed another order for 3 items that would ship 2 days later. One item shipped and arrived. the second item was allegedly shipped but after fedex changed the expected delivery date 3 days in a row the message changed to say the delivery had been cancelled by the sender (it obviously never shipped). No email or communication of any sort from The Citizenry. At this point I called, several times through the day, phone was never answered and no call back to the message left was received. The next day I sent an email which did receive a reply within a few hours, the response was that someone made a mistake in inventory and now my 2 additional items (which included at sheet set!) would not ship out until September 18, exactly two months after the initial promised ship date!! Obviously this company has no idea how to communicate with customers or how to manage inventory, I would perhaps take the excuse that this was due to Covid, however, there is a reviewer that had the same issue 10 months ago, well before Covid. The more infuriating part is the fact that a whole week went by and no communication (or product) was received, I had to chase them around to find out my shipment was delayed 2 months. I am talking about a $665 order, it is ridiculous! This company will not see my business again, went with Magic Linen instead.

Last night cooking for the what seems like 100th night in a row due to the current quarantine. I looked down and noticed my citizenry cooking board and was all of a sudden a little less mad about cooking. Love that cooking board and all your products.

Ordered the baya, wondering if it would really have the texture and depth and human touch I wished it might. It did! Would just like some assurance of fair sharing of price with artisans.
