Well run company, they are extremely easy to work with as a hobby woodworker. They go out of their way to help you and the selection of hardwoods is huge. They have everything. I needed about 100 bf of euro beech and they went out of their way to move multiple pallets of other hardwoods that were stacked in front of and on top of their beech, they moved it all and then left me alone to go thru the stacks and pick out the pieces I wanted. This is the way they have handled me each time I have gone to the store. Its the best hardwood store Ive ever been to.

Built a farmhouse table and wife and I went to four hardwood companies in Dallas. THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE TO GO!! Absolutely accommodating. One other store in Dallas wouldnt even let us look at our wood before buying it! These guys are awesome. We got to pick exactly what we wanted, they cut it, they did the glue up on it and had it planed and ready for pick up in a matter of days! Would give 10 stars if I could!!!! Well worth the trip from Granbury!!

Such a wonderful place. Board foot prices are reasonable and competitive. What makes them different is they prep one straight edge for you and are willing to crosscut boards as well. Staff is attentive and helpful. They dont attempt to get you to buy an extra amount to make money. Well worth the 40 minute drive. There was no where else I could find, dry 8/4 white oak.

Ive been here a couple of time now and the staff is friendly and the lumber prices are good.I wouldve given 5 stars, but dinged one just because there isnt consistency on milling prices. Whoever is checking you out really just makes up a number in their head, so its different every time. It would make it easier to budget out projects if there was a set price for this.

I went there to check it out and end up buying it. They lady Karen is a great helper and provide me a great service. I would recommend her if you need a service or any question about it. The price is reasonable. I’m glad I stopped by and brought it.

I cant say enough good about the crew here. This is where I bought my first raw lumber and they made the process so easy. I was immediately welcomed as a fellow woodworker. They dont talk down to you, they dont seem to be put out by what I later realized were amature questions. Prices are always good, selection is plentiful, I pick the boards I want even when they are in the back, and I like the way they calculate your board foot! There are never any surprises with the bill like you get with one of their competitors down the street. Only way Id consider shopping anywhere else is if hardwood lumber didnt have what I needed... which hasnt happened yet.

COVID-19 gave me a lot of time at home and I picked up woodworking. The staff here has helped me greatly from either helping me think of how to build something to putting up with me taking an hour to select the pieces I wanted. Personable, knowledgeable but not elitist, great service, huge in-stock selection, let you cull your own lumber, and help you get the best deal for your project. I have nothing like this where I live and not only did I call ahead for more information but I was able to budget and get pricing per board foot pretty easily. I sent an email and received excellent advice from Kay and Tom.I told Tom what I was trying to do and he recommended they build a table top for a great price. They did the glue up, sanded the corners, and Tom even gave me excellent advice on how to finish my drafting table top so that it would last. I was able to load it up with Tom and even unfinished it looks beautiful!Great service, sensible pricing, very friendly atmosphere and knowledgeable people. Ill be sending them photos after Ive finished building the bottom section of my drafting table. Ill also be finishing all sides as well since Ill be taking this table everywhere I move. After over a year of looking I was able to get a basic drafting table top and build an heirloom of my very own. If you dont have all of the tools theyll still help and Tom welcomed my questions, no matter what they concerned.

Being new to DFW, it is hard to find a good supplier of hardwoods. Having been to several stores, I do not understand why anyone would go anywhere else. Great customer service by everyone there. Kay is amazing to interact with and makes the entire process a joy. As a beginner woodworkers the terms used for hardwoods can be foreign but they make the entire process easy. They also do milling at a reasonable price and will do glue ups as well. If you go to the big box or small box stores for your wood purchases please give this place a try. Ive been to a lot of hardwood lumber shops across DFW and this one is by far the best. Not only does it feel like that neighborhood lumberyard from the distant past, but Tom and his crew are kind, courteous, helpful and know their wood. Needed very thick and wide walnut for the trim on a workbench Im doing and they both trimmed and cross cut what I needed in jiffy. If youre into wood, this is the place to start (and end) in North Texas.

This place is fantastic! Super friendly staff. I had some lumber I bought elsewhere and they milled it up for me as it was too much for my equipment. I cant wait to go back and will definitely use their milling service again.

I stopped in here today and was nothing short of impressed with the service and genuine nature of the people working there. Everyone was very willing and eager to help me with finding some hardwood samples for an upcoming project. I haven’t checked them out but it seems to be one of the few truly local, family ran businesses left. Long as they keep this up I will go there for all my hardwood needs!

Always fantastic service. As a fairly new cabinet maker, they are incredibly helpful and treat everyone with respect and appreciation. Prices are reasonable and as consistent as the market allows.

Much better than the hardwood dealers that Ive dealt with in Houston. Their selection of exotics is limited, but they are extremely helpful and kind. Some prior reviewers made it sound that there were some rude employees here and I fully disagree. They worked with me on price, helped me find what I wanted, and seemed happy to help the whole time. Also, Im a little picky about 8/4 actually measuring 2+ inches and they delivered on that expectation. I dont feel cheated out of that extra stock.

Disclaimer: hobbyist woodworkerExcellent quality and selection of various hardwoods, both domestic and foreign. They also allow hobbyists to pull their own boards from their stock.Boards can be cut to length upon request, and the staff will surface them to your specs for a small fee. Prices on their lumber are very competitive with other hardwood lumberyards, and far more reasonable than any I have found at any big box store.I do wish they would list prices for the various lumber types and dimensions, although they are happy to discuss prices and types over the phone if you call their office.

Customer service here is top notch. Knowledgeable helpful staff! Come in for lumber or milling. Fortunately for us without our own jointers, they will put one straight edge on lumber you buy. Plus, theyll let you go through their entire inventory looking for the best piece for your project. Theyll also special order lumber or plywood if they dont have it stocked. Wish I had found this place sooner!

This place is incredible! I wasnt exactly sure what I needed for my project. They were able to break everything down into laymans terms and even instructed me on the recommended best practices to help my project with as little issues as possible. The staff are super nice and friendly. They were able to give me a price quote upfront so there were no surprises. They cut to length, planed and put a clean edge on on my wood so its ready to be glued together. Once I get it together Im taking it back to have it planed again and cut to exact length. Definitely a one stop shop for any type of wood project.

I have always liked the personal service at Hardwood Lumber compared to anywhere else I have gone to purchase lumber or just get friendly woodworking advice. They treat the novice to intermediate hobbyist with the same respect as the professional and they let you sort through inventory to find whats right for your individual project.

Given the size of their lumber yard, I needed a relatively small amount of lumber (15-20 bd/ft). But that didnt seem to matter to them, they smiled and helped just as much as if I was buying 200 bd/ft. They cut the boards to fit my car and helped load it, all at a really good price! Good people, Ill be shopping with them again, soon.

Just spoke with a man on the phone to try and get pricing on materials for a project. I have never called a company before where I was treated with such condescending customer service. I am not an EXPERT wood smith but when I call someone to find out the cost of materials I expect the cost of materials not reprimanded for what Im doing!!

This is my go to spot for rough hardwood lumber. 4/4, 6/4, even 12/4. Maple, Walnut, Mohagany, Alder, even Sapele and Hickory.

The description custom millwork is not accurate. The person I spoke to on the phone refused to work on wood not purchased there.I dont have the tools or space to cut a large thick board (literally 1 to 2 straight cuts) and its very disappointing that this lumber business does not offer cutting services.
