I was looking for frosted glass for a door. I went in to Davis-Hawn and went to the section with doors and glass. I was speaking to a younger lady about options, price ect. When from behind me a snarling growl that could only come from a disgruntled middle-aged woman, said something along the lines of .. Go to the register he can help you!! My God woman if I were interrupting you or was in the wrong department? There are ways to let the customer know, besides barking at them unexpectedly. The gentleman at the register turned out to be a great help !! I will no longer be going here, for fear of retribution from the old scab !!

This is a old school lumber yard. Caters to the professional craftsman, but also weekend warrior friendly. Has the type of construction materials that you just cant get at Home Depot or Lowes.

We went to Davis-Hawn to buy doors for a remodel project. I was told the time for delivery would be 2 -3 weeks. Well over one month later, we have no doors, it is difficult to reach anyone, and we have repeatedly been promised the doors within a few days. Just today, a young man couldnt find the order! Were in our new office but have to walk down the street to use the restroom at the local sports bar because our bathroom still doesnt have a door. Dont use them. Youll regret it. If I could give them 0 stars, Id do it.

Called for a quote for about 1,500 boards and they just read me off a general price. They are cheaper than the box stores but more than other local lumber yards. Other local places give you a better deal at least for bulk orders.

Was in need of some historic molding. After searching their online catalog I found exactly what I needed. Or so I thought. Showed up and gave them the EXACT image from the catalog and a small piece of the molding. They agreed it was a match and I paid $50 for the order. Went out to the lumber yard to pick it up, and it wasnt what I ordered. After trying to explain to the worker (who spoke limited english) I ended up going back in and nobody would help me. I finally just went to the front desk and returned the phone order and left. I wouldnt come back here if you paid me, it was a nightmare and took 2 hours just to attempt to pick up a few pieces of trim.
