They are nice here but the place could use a lot of work.They do have fresh bread though, the deli dept. has Boars Head items. I cant find Boars Head anywhere else nearby. So I come here alot.The deli dept. kids are so sweet and patient.Anyways this Butera is way better than the one across town.

Good place to stop on by and pick up veggies and fruit, with a variety of Mexican and Asian foods. Great place to stock up on beer too.

I love this the corn is bussin he bread is bussin everything is bussin respectfully. My grandma used to work here she said her co workers were nice. And when I went here the workers were nice and friendly and yeah I loves it ok ok good food as well.

Tyler Street Buyers is 80% better than Clock Tower. Tyler Street business has correct coolers/freezers. Produce kept correct. Clock Tower Buyers has Old broken coolers/freezers. Have had to take back food/meat numerous times. Dairy coolers are not rotated/disposed of products. Watch dates on ALL fairy y products. Longer drive to Tyler Creek but with it due to spoiled/out of date groceries from Clock Tower. When are they going to update This Store! Down Town Elgin deserves Better.

This store by the casino is dirty and they have a rat problem. They also don’t check the dates on expire items and the ones that they leave for clearance are always 1-2 weeks after they have expired. I do not recommend this store for your shopping

Buyers is always exclent and prices are awesome.Everytime I get meat it always comes out great and would always shop there again.

The place always smells of rotting meat. They thought covid masks would cover it, na. I only stop here in an emergency. I needed some sugar. Hope I stay healthy. The cashiers are always professional, but I doubt anybody is doing regular temp checks on the meat and deli counters much less the open meat coolers with rotting meat in them. I pray for new management or ownership, in hopes it gets better, as I live so close.

Ample parking and a really good selection of items. Pricing is a bit higher on some items but sale items seem to be reasonable. The store is never crowded when I have been there although I never go at peak times. Overall this is an okay place to shop.

Came here an hour before closing for chips super easy to find they are there right as you walk in. However it doesn’t feel to safe. There was no monitoring the door making sure people wear masks and use hand sanitizer before walking in.

This store smells like spoiled meat and sour milk. Bought cigarettes here once and they were extremely stale. The only redeeming quality about this place is that they have two public restrooms near the entrance. Convenient when nature calls and youve gotta drop a deuce. Although, people like to pee all over the toilet seats. Your mileage may vary.

I go there all the time. Their lunch meat is very reasonable in price. I also buy most of my meats from them and their dairy products are priced right. On a fixed income I need to shop by price.

We used to shop this Butera store all the time until my husband got sick after eating the meat from Butera.People be careful dont buy meat here their meat is old and nasty looking and goes bad within 2 days after you buy it.

- Service is really bad and this comes from a person that usually rates high. I bought 3 12-pack of cokes, and 3 piggy wiggly 24-pack. I have to say: they marked them incorrectly; they marked 6 24-packs and 6 piggy wiggly 24-packs. So they wouldve robbed $22.21 if I hadnt double checked my receipt.

Dont buy your meat here. We bought a rack of ribs 2 days ago and when we went to make them today they were spoiled. I knew we shouldve went somewhere else for meat when all their beef was brown instead of red. If you notice, they season all their meat to cover up the fact it is going bad. No wonder the meat here is so cheap. Youll need the money you save to pay for the hospital bills when you go to the ER with food poisoning.

I love shopping here everyone friendly especially the lady at deli.

This is a decent local grocery store. They carry a lot of specialty Mexican items and have some surprisingly good produce. Their milk and produce are usually very well priced and their own brand of tortellini and ravioli are great. The prices on soda and pre-packaged cookies etc can be a little high but it is competiviely priced. The lines can get long sometimes so try to go during a quieter time.

Its clean and the restrooms are upfront I havent tried the hot food yet but it looks intriguing. The guacamole is a HUGE disappointment, but what can you expect from a grocery store. The staff is friendly which helps.

I am not sure what the review before mine is talking about. I am as white as they come and I am always treated with respect, and usually even a smile. If you have issues with race at this store, the issue is mostly likely your own. I have to agree with them though that the store is a bit dark and undesirable at night, but I have never had any issues from anyone in the past 3 years, but I am hardier then the average person.Besides that the produce, meat, fish, deli, and frozen foods are usually good quality for the price. If you are buying anything else you will likely pay a premium for convenience. If you want a fancy store go to Jewel, or whole foods. If you want good prices and convenience come here.

Butera caters to its local customers. The meat is always fresh and nice looking. The story is very clean and prices are often lower than other grocery stores.

They seem nice over the years for the most part. And they keep a clean store. I have shopped thier for at least 10 years now.

Always great deals, a underrated grocery store. Deserves more business....I mean, they had 5 cent limes!!! An meat prices are great!

They have baggers but only For hispanics I felt very discriminated against the bagger n cashier... Especially when she told me it was for only that cashier meaning that she didnt have one that was a lie... Then if they didnt want me to feel that way...the bagger should have kept his eyes opened shame on them!

This store has a reputation of selling past date food. I would have to guess the reason for this is to keep the many homeless people that are in the area from being able to go into the dumpsters and eat the food there that would still be good for a week or two after the date. This IS fundamentally wrong.

I came today to buy dinner it was a simple pizza I made it and when we went to eat it it smelled bad I looked at the date and it expired March of 2019. This is really sad when I shop there all the time but after today I will go the extra distance to go to elgin fresh market. Hey butera you really need to check the dates on your food. And to all the customers please check the dates on your food.

They don’t honor their misplaced Non Ad items. I asked to get 4 items that were placed in the same bin as the sale item( same brand and everything)Mind you that there was 2 cases in the refrigerated area I’m talking about. The ignorant “supervisor “ went back and brought the sign up shoved it in my face showing me that in small letters said those weren’t included. I will not shop here ever!!!Plus they’re prices are super high. I even found them selling clearances out items that expired in October of last year? Can you say yuk!

It is very good there is everything.very fresh fruits,they verduras and they meat.

This place is a mess they follow you around the store and the cashier change the prices of the items when you not looking the produce is out dated and the manager here at this location is aware of it all and give you attitude when you address issues Ive been to other locations and its better preform at them so I think that this place needs to be checked out by the highest officials in the BBB ASAP.
