Tried to call this dealership to look at a truck listed on car gurus… 3 times. No answer to any. Drove 45 min out of my way to look at it, it isn’t on the lot, not even there yet and it already had a deposit on it from a different buyer. Asked why they still had it listed online and one dude told me they can’t take it down until it’s already gone.
Best dealership to buy a car from! This was my first time buying from a dealership let alone from out of state and everything went seamlessly from start to finish. Lindale and Patrick in sales were very kind and accommodating helping with all of my requests/questions and advising me how everything worked. Tom in finance was very easy to work with and was very helpful answering all of my questions or concerns I had. Everyone was very patient and great to work with! They took me in last minute when my vehicle wouldnt start. AAA came to give me a jump. Had I turned my engine off, I would have been stuck. I called Hall Ford and they said they would fit me in. I have been here several times for oil changes. I cant justify an hour for an oil change. You may not have an Express Lube, but it still shouldnt take an hour or more to do a simple oil change. Even with a tire rotation, which I didnt have, it shouldnt take an hour or more. You shouldnt try to set stockholders straight either.
My first Ford was a 1964-1/2 Mustang when I was stationed at Pearl Harbor, HI. In 2011 I bought a Ford Focus in Memphis which ended up being my daughter’s high school car in Camden, NC. I bought another 2018 Focus with eco-boost and the oil pump went out in 2019 and Hall Ford took care of it too include a new turbo. A year later June 2020 the 2018 Focus was a total loss in a bad accident. I didn’t have GAP and had to make up the difference owed. At this time my daughter was in the navy, but I still had the old 2011 Focus with 187K miles on it. I told my wife I would drive it until it started having problems. I drive 64 miles one way to work. The 2011 “Old Faithful” got me to work and home for the next 15 months without any problems. August 11, 2021 with 216K miles going home the serpentine belt broke 30 miles from home. I had the car towed to Hall Ford and all was good with a morning appointment at 07:30 to replace the belt. I took a taxi home and let my supervisor know I would be out 8/12 with my car in the shop. Later I got called by Hall Ford Service that the belt was not in stock, but was ordered and arrive around 10 am and 1/2 hour labor car would be ready. I was good with that. Here is where And why I give a 1 ⭐️ for the service at Hall Ford of Elizabeth City. Expecting a call to come pick up my car no later than noon, but never got the call. I tried calling service and could only get voicemail. I called sales to be transferred and got through, but told no updates because mechanic was on an extended lunch break. At this point I was frustrated and instead of waiting for an update, decided to buy a 2021 Rogue. I called the competition up the road and explained my situation. I truly was going to buy a Ford Escape when the car reached end of life, but the terrible service deterred me and Nissan picked me up in a Rogue they thought I would like. I test drove it back to their dealership and drove home with it that evening. If Ford Service was better, I would have drove home with an Escape. I still like Ford, but if local service is poor I will not buy a Ford.
Outstanding support and assistance in the purchase of my 2021 F150. Even though it was a special order, the entire staff at Hall Ford was very responsive and courteous. If I could give zero stars I would. I drove 6 hours from Pennsylvania for a 2011 Mustang that was misrepresented as a cleaner car than it actually was. They negotiated on the price an I wound up buying from David Camper. I get car home and run an auto check to check the history of the car and it has an accident and an odometer roll back on it. I have reached out to Steve the sales manager several times and gotten no response to remedy the situation. Purchased the car on 8/28/21.
My search for a all black Cadillac Coupe with low mileage and good price was completed online at Hall Ford Elizabeth. I sent a online request and Mr. Jonnie set the tone with his detailed and speedy communication. During my online chat I was able to ask questions and get direct answers that built trust. Because of my great first impression of this dealership, I drove 5 hours from Charlotte, North Carolina to Elizabeth City. Needless to say I am a new over of my dream car and Mr. Lindale the elite sales representative closed the deal! My experience with the closing financial department was spectacular. He also gave me solid advice and education about credit. My entire experience gets 5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Had to bring our truck in on our trip to Cape Hatteras from MO. They have done a great job getting it checked out, unfortunately they didnt get it fixed. Wished they would have listened and changed what we said was most likely the problem (third time its happened on our 2020 F350) but we found some sparkplug wires and well head home. Very friendly staff tho. Thanks

Just dropped my car at body shop tell you how they did when I get my car back! But I can tell you from the first visit for estimate of fixing my car they were great. Gave me alot of information even where to rent a car. Everyone their very polite and knowledgeable. For someone that doesnt know this area I would definitely go there again.

I was interested in a Ford Mustang convertible and I called ahead of time to see if the car was available. Unfortunately, we were told that the car was on hold for another customer but David Camper, took my name and number anyway, he said, you’ll never know what could happen. Well as fate would have it David called me back the next day and told me the deal fell through, and if I was still interested he would hold it for me. That’s integrity in my book! My wife and I looked at it the car next day and drove off with this beautiful car! Thank you David!
I got really lucky and found the perfect truck at a good price. We were getting our old car fixed next door and went strolling through the Ford dealership comparing trucks. The Sales Rep, John, showed us a Ford Ranger that had just come in. Basically a 10 year old truck with extremely low mileage. Perfect! We dont want a truck but we need one. It has to be low to the ground for the height challenged. It also has a 6 cylinder engine so it could tow some smaller items in the future.Then it became Deal Time. John worked with us, and in less than an hour, the deal was done! The paperwork was pretty painless. The Business Manager, Derrick, was very helpful. At no time throughout the process did I feel like chum in a shark tank. It doesnt get much better than this. I definitely recommend you give them a try.
Quite deceptive business practice. I scheduled an oil change over the phone and was told I’m covered under their “39 minutes or the next one’s free” guarantee. It took 52 minutes so I asked how the free oil change works. The service person told me that I had to tell her that when I checked in for it to apply. Seriously? I need to communicate to you what your company communicated to me for you to honor it? It’s terrible that these folks can’t communicate with one another and require the (former) customer to do so for them. I won’t be back.
I had inquired (via email) about a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. Johnnie Oneal responded and answered my question. This vehicle did not have a sunroof (which I really want). Instead of dismissing me, Johnnie searched all of their dealerships to see if they had what I was looking for within my price range. So far, there is not a vehicle with the specifics I am looking for in my price range, but I really appreciated Johnnie going the extra mile to look for me. He also said he would keep an eye out and let me know if one comes up that matches my search criteria. I would be willing to drive the hour it would take me to get to this dealership because of Johnnie!
It has been a long time since I have purchased a new car. I went to look but ended up buying my dream truck. The sales team didnt rush me time I pulled up but gave me a chance to look around before coming to check on me. Beau was my salesman. He was knowledgeable about the truck and features that I could add on. He wasnt pushy but took time to answer all of my questions. Overall, I had a pleasant experience.

The experience started off great. But on the day that I was going to drive down and complete the process. Was notified that another customer had provided a down deposit and the vehicle was now theirs. I was never provided the opportunity or advised that this would ensure the vehicle would be locked in for me. Poor communication up and down and laterally allowed this to happen. Was told due to limited supply this happens, but that should have been communicated sooner not after it’s gone. All around very disappointing!

Pleasant staff, knowledgeable, car was as advertised. Willing to work with you to make your purchase happen. Sales and finance staff were top notch.Cleanlines/detailing of vehicle left a little to be desired but not enough for less than 5 stars. Average car buyer probably would not notice but I extracted some gnarly brown stuff out black interior and lots of swirls in paint and dried on sap showed after glaze wore off, but its a used car - to be expected.

Mixed feelings on this service call. My original request for service was written up wrong. When I dropped off the vehicle and wrote up what I needed done on the key drop envelope, the service rep did call me to verify exactly what service I wanted done.An item I had on the list didnt get done because it required a separate appointment with a different department but I wasnt told this until I called in to tell them I was on my way to pick it up.The tire pressures that I had set for my particular needs were changed. And then they didnt get the 4 rear tires to the same PSI. Dont mess with something that wasnt asked for and if you do mess with it, do it right.Follow up: I was able to contact Amy as requested and we discussed the issues I had with my service visit. Amy commented that my concerns had been noted and would be discussed at the next staff meeting. She also offered to ensure all items in question were corrected at my convenience.
Purchasing of my new 2020 Ranger was quick, simple, and a pleasant experience. I looked on Halls website, found the vehicle I was interested in. It was at their Newport News dealership. I had a fantastic experience both times and will continue to take my vehicle there in the future. Their customer service is FANTASTIC from scheduling all the way to check out - the Reps are SO caring and kind and for me, they have made sure to help me utilize the best available discount for the service scheduled. If you haven’t tried their service dept (even if it’s not a Ford), you should give them a try. Their facility is very clean and inviting and for what it’s worth, I really like the setup of their check-in/pick-up area during business hours. They have a great waiting area. One area has a large table/desk w/ ports for charging devices, a lounge-like area w/ TV and snack machines if you prefer to wait or if you don’t want to wait, they do have other options available. I utilized the after hours night-drop option for my most recent service and it was a very easy and smooth process. Their communication to keep me up to date about when my vehicle would be ready was via text and was AWESOME! NOTE: I have not received an incentive of any kind from Hall Ford Elizabeth City or Hall Rewards Program for this review; if I’m honest, I usually do not write reviews, but I really wanted to share the great experience I have had and give a shout out to all the customer service reps for their kind and courteous service and smiles...it’s such a great quality especially during these VERY crazy times 😊

DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE GUYS!!! Sales associate, Patric Day, was okay until he started talking to his manager who hid in his/her back office. Bait and switch on the warranty promise AFTER paperwork was signed, then pen and inked, and then, “Oh lets just print this out again with the no warranty (we lied about).” Accessories shown in the pictures “disappeared” on delivery. Insulting low ball offer on trade-in. Second time I was taken by Hall – NEVER AGAIN! Obviously, they enjoy preying on older retired military couples.
Me and my mom have been going to Hall Ford for the last seven years our car salesman John SigRanelli and the managers there what an amazing place they take care of you they look out for you they’re not pushy they’re there to help you out and not just sell you a car. I absolutely hate buying cars. Not because of the cost as much as the experience. I expect to walk in and deal with some obnoxious, overeager, pushy salesman, and the car sale waltz begins. This time, I was pleasantly surprised. Taylor was so easy to talk to, down to earth and had realistic mindset when it came to a person buying a car. We told him what we were looking for, and while it didnt work for us, he searched and found something in our description of what we wanted and it was actually better than what we had originally wanted. We were looking for used vehicles also, and he put us in a BRAND NEW ride. The whole process was easy and relaxed and never pushy at all. Not only would I buy another car from Taylor and Hall Automotive, I will be recommending anyone I know to come in to the dealership, and that is 90% because of Taylor Inge.

When I unexpectedly found myself needing to purchase a new vehicle I looked for dealers near my home on the OBX, knowing I wanted an F150. Hall was not the closest but I called on a Saturday morning to discuss one I saw on their website. Several phone calls later and some online paperwork and I had a brand new F150 which was delivered to my front door that afternoon. Everyone I spoke with and/or texted in the process was helpful and professional. The couple that delivered the vehicle were as nice as could be and I am very happy with my purchase!

This past June I was in a pinch and decided to buy from a dealership for the very fist time. I went to multiple dealerships in the Chesapeake area and had no luck, and many of them were rude to me because I did not have a credit score (I had just turned 19 and until then had never had a credit card or loan in my life). However, when I decided to try Hall Ford, they were very polite with me and tried to work with me the best they can. We managed to get me in a 2012 Jeep Patriot. This vehicle is very reliable and I would like to thank my salesman, David Camper for being so kind and helpful. The entire process was very quick and smooth. Since then I have gone here for all of my services and every time I go I am treated very well and with much respect by all staff. I bought a truck with only 27k on it as it’s a 2014 . Next day saw a wet spot under it but didn’t think much of it . I continued to see wet spots and thought it was from ac . 2.5 months later I bring it back for my heater not working right and issue with RPM tack taking off at times as this was 4th time and they couldn’t find the problem. Back to the water spot . It’s a hole in the overflow tank and they wanted $700 plus to put a new one in . Even if I would of brought it back next day I still would of been charged as it’s not under the warranty, Very let down in hard times like it is right now with the virus out there .

They replaced my engine because it was still under warranty. They told us our 2017 Ford Escape was ready to be picked up on Friday 11-20-2021, so we picked it up and we get down the road and it starts making a noise that wasnt there a week ago. Now we must bring it back to the shop. They told me on Thursday they were keeping it until Friday to test drive it a few times to make sure everything was okay. Why is it we can hear the horrible noise, but their mechanic could not? Something is not right here. You do not tell a customer to pick up their vehicle and everything is wonderful and then when the customer is almost home a horrible noise is going on when it was not their a week ago when we dropped it off. Not happy at all!

Don’t expect much after you purchase a vehicle. I purchased a Ford Explorer last October (Halloween). I took it in for a routine oil change and tire rotation last month and they told me my tires are bad and I need new ones. The lady said she was going to get in contact with the tire company and see if we could work something out because it made no sense to have to replace tires after only a year. She said she would give me a call and keep me updated. Well that never happened. I waited a week and called and spoke to a guy in the service department. He said he would figure out the details and give me a call back and again that never happened. I called AGAIN last Monday and left him a voicemail and still no return phone call. I thought this business was all about customer service and satisfaction yet they can’t keep their word or help a customer get answers. Very disappointed
Great service. Straight forward with what needs to be done and how low it will take. Fair pricing. Very nice waiting area.Update: was in for service and was not notified of a recall on my vehicle. Now I will need to waste a half day to return to get the recall repaired. Was really hoping this dealership service department was going to be different than the others but apparently not.

Repairs took approximately four hours however they made me leave the truck for two days forcing me to rent a vehicle for my business!They knew in the beginning that the vehicle was to be used for a business and that it was needed as soon as possible!!!I am happy with the repairs however the scheduling and management needs help.
I have purchased 3 cars from them now, the latest being last night. I have dealt with different people each time and everyone is always so nice and respectful and helpful to make sure that you leave happy and well informed. I was so happy with the more streamlined paperwork process and they made sure to go over all aspects of the car to make sure that when I left, I knew all the features and where everything was located (even down to the gas tank and headlights). Our salesman, Mike White, did a fantastic job. Found the F150 wed been looking for right away. Looked at a few but kept coming back to the first one he showed us, and decided that was the one. Within a few hours, Mike and his team had us powered up and done! Its been two weeks now and we cant be happier with out 2015 F150 Lariat. They gave us a good deal on our old vehicle and have kept all promises! We would freely recommend this team to anyone, especially Mike!

My 6 month new Honda Accord was hit while I was stopped at a light. I was extremely upset thinking it would never be the same. While the car was being repaired and driving a rental I missed it terribly. Hall Ford even took care of the cost of the rental when the repair took longer than insurance would cover. Inside and out you can’t tell it was ever damaged. So happy to have my car back and have the experience behind me! Excellent work.
