I came in here to get my iPhone X screen replaced. The owner was very honest and knowledgeable on the work that needed to be done. He told me the phone should be ready in an hour, and it sure was. As I picked up my phone, the phone was in mint condition, and looked brand new. Great quality and friendly place. Would highly recommend.

I have used this service many times, and have always been satisfied. When an item wasnt repairable, usually due to parts being unavailable, they refunded my deposit. Also, excellent used equipment.

I have a terrible computer that tends to break down almost monthly, and I have been to many computer repair shops in Evanston. All the other places I have been have charged me a crazy amount to get my computer fixed within the day (Im talking like 100 dollars or more) regardless of the situation or the needed repair. After paying an absurd amount at other stores, I finally gave this shop a chance, and I was so satisfied with the service and price. The owner is an incredibly friendly person and offers a far superior price compared to competitors in the area. Furthermore, I explained to him my situation and despite having other devices, he made time to check and fix my computer. From now on, I will always be going to this store.

Customer service was excellent. Zane (I think that is his name) was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my MacBook repair process. Also, unlike many other repair locations, this location only charges 25 dollars for a diagnostic fee. A huge steal compare to the $100 diagnostic fess other stores typically charge!

Gadgetworks is great. Had a couple of devices needing serious repairs, some of which I thought most of the others wouldnt even consider taking in. Even the authorized supplier and the company needed initial down-payment and few weeks even for an initial assessment. Anyhow, these guys took both, made the cost-effective part replacements quickly. at a far cheaper rate. Sensible, reasonable and professional. Highly recommended.

I had a cracked iPhone screen and saw Gadgetworks charged $50 less than Apple to fix my screen. I was excited, but after having it repaired I noticed the dimensions of the glass was off. The edges of the glass didnt fit quite right, the edges of the screen were not as sensitive, and the screen protectors I ordered online for my phone wouldnt fit on the new glass. Unsurprisingly, a few weeks after I got my screen replaced I dropped my phone and the screen immediately shattered. Even though I bought Gadgetworks upgraded glass to fix my screen, it is of lower quality and easily shatters. Save the time and money and just get your screen replaced at Apple. Its $50 more expensive, but worth it in the end. Im out $100.

Ermin helped me with assembling a desktop. If you are not sure whether you can make a PC yourself, I’d 100% recommend this place. Service fee for assembling a desktop is $150 and $50 for replacing a single part (provided that you bring all the necessary pieces). Staffs are friendly and they surely know what they are doing.

Friendly and helpful staff, I went to ask about pricing for replacing the glass back panel of my OnePlus 6 Android phone, and the man who helped me was very helpful and friendly - really made me feel like I wasnt burdening him, unlike some people have at other places in the past.I got the deposit paid for the repair ($25), and Im now waiting for the part to come in (should be ~3 business days or so), then theyll call me, Ill bring the phone in, and a couple of hours later, Ill pay the remainder of the fee ~$35-ish, and my phone will be fixed.Im very happy with my experience here!

Got my iPhone 7 screen replaced that was shattered beyond recognition super quickly, even though there were a couple orders ahead of mine. The price is the lowest Ive seen in Chicago for that kind of repair and the quality of it is good as new.

During the 2020 pandemic my iPad Pros screen went on the fritz and I contacted them, they werent fully open due to all the state requirements but were nice enough to meet me at my car, in face mask and gloves, repaired it the same day, and met me again to drop it off, even offering to drive it back to me! Slow turn around to get my iPad fixed and when I went to checkout they wouldnt honor the two groupons I purchased. Groupon said you could purchase two per customer, which to me sounded like you can use two per customer. When I asked them where it said I couldnt use two it literally took them ten minutes between the two of them to find it buried in the fine print. If they dont want you to use two it needs to say that. Now I have a useless second one since I wont be going back to this place. Terrible customer service! Instead of apologizes and trying to make it right, I just got attitude. Not the kind of place I want to support.

I spilled tea on my laptop and took it to Gadget Works for liquid damage repair (a full cleaning and replacement of the mousepad). My experience was phenomenal. The issues with my machine were all fixed in a timely manner at a very reasonable price. In addition, the quality of the customer service is unmatched. Prashant greeted me with kindness and a complete desire to help. He is clearly an expert with these systems! Overall, Gadget Works saved my laptop and alleviated my anxiety which would have ensued if I had not trusted them. I will gladly return to Gadget Works whenever I have any technology issues!

I brought in my iPhone SE because the external speakers only worked intermittently. They diagnosed, fixed & tested it in one hour for $25. They also gave a 90 day warrantee.Polite, quick service, didnt overcharge, was exactly as they said.Great service!

These guys were seriously AWESOME. I cannot stress that enough. My (newish) mac computer was giving me a ton of trouble, and not only did they help me figure out what was wrong, but they let me sit in the store for HOURS (3+ to be exact) to restore everything. Whenever I was confused by something that popped up on the computer as it reloaded (which was a lot), they came over to clarify and help me navigate the confusing jumble that is the inner workings of a mac computer. Ill definitely be coming back here for any future tech issues, 10/10 theyre hands down the best.

We had a iPad with a severely broken screen. They quoted one price and charged much more. A bunch of semi competent children with no structure to what they are doing. No accountability. Just a constant string of extra charges as they break parts. Do not use them.

My experience with Gadgetworks was EXTREMELY positive. I had brought my broken iPad to them for a second opinion. They easily couldve put me through the runaround and charged me, but they corroborated the original diagnosis without hitting me up for a fee.The owner/tech advised me that repairing it would be equal to buying a used iPad...and provided me with a TERRIFIC deal for a refurbished one AND protective case AND charging cord/plug.He was extremely extremely knowledgeable and walked me through the entire pricing process. I concur with a previous reviewer that Gadgetworks empowers you (as a customer) to make the right decision with regards to your tech and budget needs.I highly recommend this store if youre looking for refurbished tablets that have great prices.

Our family has brought in two computers. A PC. And aMac laptop. Both older models. The service on both couldnt have been better. Both are now working perfectly. The service people were very easy to work with and very explanatory about what was going on with both models. Price for repair was low. Easily the best place to bring your computer for service in Evanston.

I purchased a new phone here. Nice, clean store. The young man at this store (Evanston) was very honest, very helpful.I know alot about IT (formal education).I do my own repairs as a hobby. But I would definitely trust this shop to do repairs for me! I dont see this level of honesty very often anymore in a business. I am glad I found GadgetWorks!

Then they replaced my iPhone screen and they replaced it with a defective screen that barely works and they wont honor the fact that its crap. Dont go to this place! I took my laptop in because the track pad wasn’t working. They told me that they would call me the next day to give me an estimate of when the laptop would be fixed and when I can pick it up. Not only did they fail to call, when I called they told me that their technician wasn’t available to fully diagnose the problem and that he would not be available until Friday (I sent the laptop in on Monday). I leave the country Thursday and I need my laptop for work when I travel. So I asked if I can come pick the laptop up so that I can send it to another repair store, they told me that if I came to pick it up, they would charge me a $25 diagnostics fee...$25 FOR WHAT!! I ALREADY KNEW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY LAPTOP AND I ASKED YOU TO FIX IT. NOW YOU’RE TELLING ME THAT YOU CANT FIX MY LAPTOP AND I HAVE TO PAY TO PICK IT BACK UP. I guess I didn’t know that my laptop was being held hostage. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!!Update: After speaking to the Gadgetworks stir in Glenview and having that technician take a look at my computer, he was nice enough to give me repair estimates and wave the $25 fee if I decided not to get my computer repairs with them. I picked up my laptop no charge earlier today.

AMAZING!!! I am so happy I found these guys. I broke camera on my Samsung S7. The back story is I called UBreakIfix adn they lied on price, gave ridiculous quote if I brought my own camera piece AND... wanted be to come in first knowing I had to travel one hour round trip just to drop it off. GadgetWorks gave me quote on the phone, ordered piece and installed Camera for HALF of the other guys!!! And they replaced the glass piece over camera free since they didnt know i needed. I would give 10 stars if I could!! If you have a problem take it here!!

On the surface, great experience with this business. But in retrospect, I got burned. While visiting from out of town, I brought my iPhone 6 to gadgetworks to have the cracked screen replaced. Work was done quickly and for the standard price of $100+. It wasnt until I returned home and happened to view my new screen through polarized lenses that I discovered that the screen they installed rendered my display 100% BLACK when held in portrait position (i.e. the way you almost always hold your phone). Im very aware that polarized glasses always cause displays to render a bit oddly; but this is not what Im talking about. My display is literally BLACK! What a bummer. For the record, I had the same screen repaired at Batteries Plus 2 months earlier and the screen rendered perfectly through polarized lenses, just like the Apple factory-installed screen (so yes, I highly recommend batteries plus for screen repair). So, sorry gadgetworks guys: I hate to write a bad review, but your sourcing of sub-par aftermarket parts needs to be displayed prominently so that unwitting customers can know that, despite your good service, you are maximizing your profits by selling your customers short on the quality aftermarket parts they expect.For me, its now back to a batteries plus outlet in Florida to pay another $100 to have them remove the cheap screen installed by gadgetworks. I bought my iphone 5c in Gadgetworks last September and recently I found that the battery can only be charged to 3%. At first I thought it was the batterys problem, so I go back to Gadgetworks to ask for help. The staff (not very polite) say hell replace the battery for me, which make sense. But I said that battery being the cause is just my guess, and I asked for some test to find the real cause. But he doesnt think we need to test. Then after replacing the battery, the battery is at 76% when I get it. However, I still cant charge it and it will go all the way to less than 3%. And the same thing happens again. Now Ill find someone else to fix it. Just suggesting that they should have a better understanding of the problem or maybe do some test instead of just replacing things.

I took a chance on this place because I was desperate to get the WIFI working on my computer. I brought it in and had to get my WIFI card replaced, ok. When I brought it home, it still didnt work (the cable came loose again on the way home), but the store hours were over for the day. I called the store anyways and the guy who worked on my computer invited me to come back right away, fixed the problem in front of me, explained everything that was going on, and replaced an additional part for free since I had to come back. I honestly could not believe it!

I have used Gadgetworks for all my computers for 4 years. They are amazing. They are quick, knowledgeable and affordable. They always explain what the problem is and empower the customer. The Apple store made me wait days for a repair they priced at $500. Gadgetworks did it in one day for less than $100. Gadgetworks is highly customer oriented. Don’t go anywhere else.I continue to use this excellent shop for all my macintosh problems. They are fair, quick and full of integrity. They will explain what they do to educate the customer. They know both electronics and computers which is great because sometimes it is not an ap problem. For years I used the licensed Mac people including the genius bars but never agains since I found this great shop. They go WAY beyond the call of duty with their customers and never profiteer I highly recommend this shop! They are extremely customer oriented--whether on the phone when you ask questions or when you come in the store. They are GREAT with Macintoshes and actually better, in my experience, than the licensed Macintosh repair shops. The reason I say better is because they are quicker, less expensive and seem to have a can do attitude that the actual Macintosh shops sometimes lack. I recently ordered a repair and expected to wait a week. Instead I waited two hours! For no charge at all, they also gave me tutorial help. They are great! If you are in Evanston or near Evanston dont go anywhere else!

My iphone 5S was given here for service for charging problem, when i got back, Touch ID fingerprint sensor was not working. Please make sure everything is working before you leave the shop after service.

In June I went to the Apple Store to have them look at an iPhone 5S that I owned that was having problems with its camera. They were going to charge over $200 to fix it, and by the looks of the crowd there in the store I wasnt going to get it back for a while either. I popped over to Gadget Works where it only cost me $40 and the repair was done in a few hours. Ive used them before and Ill use them again and again.
