Great service I hope to use as the only option going forward. My tech, Joe, was right on-time and reaffirmed the quote I received via email with the appointment scheduler. It was so convenient not having to drive to the GMC dealership and mess with a rental or take time off work. Brake Squads price for my front and back brake pads and rotors and brake-line flush for my 2016 Yukon came in $500 less than the same service GMC quoted me at the dealership. Cant beat that!

Ever had Shakey-Brakey(tm)? You know. You apply your brakes and your car shakes to a stop. Well I did so I had to go to the brake doctor, and I found one great practice: The Brake Squad.I sent in a request on their web site, and shortly afterwards a representative called me and we talked details. They gave me a worst case price which was in line with what I expected. I set up an appointment with them for 1pm on the following Wednesday (today) and began the wait.The tech (Alex) called me at 11:25am saying that he was able to get to me early, and he was here about 10 minutes later. He examined my brakes and took it for a test ride.Now -- heres the good part -- He could have said, Yup, you need all four wheels done., but he didnt. He said the back brakes were fine and the front had a small shimmy at 50mph. (Its worse when going faster.)We agreed on the price and about an hour later, he was done.I HIGHLY recommend this company. Its the first time I use a mobile service like this, probably wont be the last time. My rotors were due for replacement and the pads were also close behind but had some life in them. Joe came out, drove the car and explained what needed to be done and what could be but not required right now. I opted for new rotors, pads and brake fluid flush, basically full brake service. It took a couple of hours but the work was done right there the parking lot. Ive been driving the car for a couple of weeks now; it literally feels brand new. I did shop around and the prices were comparable to similar services. I appreciated their promptness from providing the online quote, speaking over the phone and scheduling process, to Joe coming out and explaining everything and more importantly, the quality of the job. Im very happy with the service and will likely use it again the future, when needed. I highly recommend them.

Used the Brake Squad to replace Rear Brake Pads and Calipers that had failed inspection in 2020. Lowest cost option, and they came to me! Passed inspection in 2020! Fast forward to 2021 where I failed Safety Inspection again with a single caliper that needed to be replaced at it was failing. I called The Break Squad and found out that the caliper was still under warranty and Alex came out within days to replace. I definitely will use them for any future repairs as they do excellent work, and have a solid warranty policy.

Great experience compared to the dealership and frankly in general! Mechanic was friendly, professional and diligent. Finished in an hour in right in my driveway. I called around to get a few quotes and Brake Squad was by far the lowest.

The Brake Squad by far provides the most customer friendly and seamless service in NOVA. I went to 2 other “shops” and was quoted for what I thought was an exorbitant price just based on some fast web search results for similar services. I called the Squad and they not only gave me a better deal, but they met me same day and even diagnosed some issue that had been missed by both shops! The tech (Joe) even provided the pictures of the issues he diagnosed, explained how it would impact my vehicle and offered solutions that he could provide. For those who work for home; this service allowed me to meet the tech outside my house- give the keys- attend some meetings and then get my car (all fixed up) an hour or so later. No waiting inside some shop, getting annoyed at the gaggle of techs doing nothing while you wait for 3 hours only to have the price hiked up on you by the end. Very straight forward service and will continue to use for as long as they still service NOVA.

This is a great company. Joe called me the night before to confirm the specifications of my truck so he could bring the correct parts for the next morning’s appointment. He showed up early, completely prepared for the repair. He replaced the brake pads & rotors on all four tires of an 8600 lb. box truck in a little over 1 hour. Wow! The box truck for my moving business didn’t sit in a shop for 2 days waiting on parts. My customers jobs didn’t have to be re-scheduled to another day thanks to Joe. I will tell you a 100% true story of why these guys are honest. My car was exhibiting symptoms of brake rotors needing to be replaced. But when the Brake Squad tech inspected them he advised us that it was the steering control arm bushings that needed attention, no need for brakes. So great diagnostic right in my driveway and low cost for that and then of course saved us on brakes.

Joe did an excellent job! He was very knowledgeable and friendly! He even showed us the old parts so we could see how worn-down they were compared to the new parts. We had all 4 tires done on our van (rotors and pads) and a brake flush. The entire service took 1 hr 45 min. The best part is that my husband and I could stay at home with the kids instead of having to drop the car off at a shop and pick it up whenever THEY would be done. It was done on OUR terms when WE had the time. We loved it!

Great service that comes to your home. They replaced front pads and rotors for about $600, when the dealer was quoting over $1000 for the same thing. Additionally, the dealer wanted another $1000 to replace a caliper, which The Brake Squad was prepared to do for another $500. However, upon examination, The Brake Squad said that the caliper did not need replacement. So really it was $600 vs. over $2000 at the dealer.

However, The people @ The Brake Squad are amazing and a friendly shout out is overdue and well deserved!I first reached out due to the local mobile service offering for an emergency with my front brake pads and easily scheduled an appointment with Crystal who was very friendly and accommodating. Every time I’ve called she’s been a pleasure communicating with and willingly explained what may be an issue based on what I describe. Calling a company and speaking with a genuinely nice and pleasant person who cares goes a very long way.Both brake specialists (Alex & Andre) that I’ve worked with were very professional and efficient. When I went back to Brake Squad to replace the back brake pads and rotors Andre came slightly early and double checked work with before and after the test drive. I had my own parts and was going to do the brake job on my 2012 Yukon but I could not break loose some of the bolts and was afraid of striping them. These were the original brakes and I believe it was a flood car from hurricane Sandy. I got an online estimate for all 4 wheels and called them directly since I only needed the labor. They came out on Friday and replaced my front and rear brake pads on my truck for literally HALF of what my dealership service desk wanted to charge. I rarely post reviews, but this service was so excellent I had to pass along my praise. The Brake Squad only does brakes, but they come to you and do the work in your driveway efficiently and for a very reasonable price. I got 2 other quotes for replacing my front brakes and rotors (the dealer, and the gas station where I get my oil changed), and both were significantly higher, and would have required my sitting around in a waiting room for a couple of hours. This was SO convenient and reasonably priced, and Joe was incredibly friendly and honest (hes a Boy Scout leader). He explained everything to me, let me watch him work, and was done in 45 minutes. He came on a Saturday morning, right on time, and seemed very flexible with scheduling. He also spent some time with me on the phone prior to the appointment as I explained my braking issue, and was very friendly and professional. This was, hands down, the best service I have ever used for my vehicle. So easy. Crystal and Alex took super good care of me. If I had a question or needed to reschedule, Crystal was always able to answer. Alex was always prompt and explained everything to me. I had to have my brakes looked at, I wasnt exactly sure what was wrong. With all sincerity, my experience with The Brake Squad was the best customer service I can recall in a long long time.Im from out of town, and was just in the area for a night and needed to drive another 500 miles the next day, so having a prompt service without the headache of driving to a shop and being on their clock sounded great to me.I scheduled an appointment for what I thought was going to be a pretty simple pad (possible rotor) replacement- which isnt always easy for me as I drive a 30 year old classic truck and some mechanics dont have the skillset to troubleshoot old equipment or even get their hands on the right parts. Andre, the technician who was scheduled to do the job, called promptly after I made the appointment to confirm and was able to come a little early.After diagnosing the problem, it turned out to be a lot more involved than we had initially thought and the owner of the company, Joe, personally came out to help expedite the job. It turned out that I had handed these guys a whole can of worms...30 year old rusty worms. Long story short these guys busted their backs in the 40 something degree rain, at night, for hours after they were supposed to punch the clock to go home. They did all this with a smile, and at a fair price- just so I was able to hit the road the next day on schedule. What else can I say? I dont even think if my entire family were mechanics they wouldve helped me out like that!These guys are the GOAT.

I saved $400 by using The Brake Squad. I had two separate garages try to tell me that all four pads/rotors needed to be replaced. When The Brake Squad technician arrived (at 3:59 for a 4PM appointment) he guided me through the work, showing me that I had at least 10 more months to go on my front pads, and that my front rotors looked great. What I thought would be a quick fix, turned out to be a lot more intense. The Brake Squad were amazing. They came to my house and worked on my Jeep while I went to a meeting. They charged exactly what they stated they would and I went from having no brakes to them working perfectly the same day.They are extremely knowledgeable, and trust worthy. I came across the Brake Squad while searching for an alternative to the very high quote given to me by the dealership. As soon as I called and spoke with Danielle I knew they were going to be great. Danielle was friendly and helpful, she even gave me an exact price quote! That was so refreshing after talking to other places who either insisted they needed to see the car before giving me an estimate or saying that their price was only an estimate and depending on the condition of the parts and labor the actual cost could be higher (which it almost always is). Not only was their price lower than the other 3 places I had called, she said they could do it that afternoon and that they would come to my house for no additional cost! What could beat that?? He also recommended the brake fluid be replaced since it was green with algae. He could tell I was on the fence now about having the rotors replaced since it was significantly cheaper to just do the brakes at the current time. I was texting back and forth with my husband trying to decided if we wanted to do all three things...then Alex came up with the perfect solution for us. He said he could replace the brake pads, the brake fluid and refinish the rotors instead of replacing them (which saved a good bit of money). And even though he had to go to two different locations to get the parts for the job I had originally asked him to do, he never once insisted on replacing the rotors and was pleasant and fun the entire time. While on the phone we discussed the detailed notes that Lisa had taken (right off the bat I could tell he and Lisa knew what they were talking about) and he gave me an estimate (parts, labor, tax) that was only $45 more than if I had provided the parts myself. Mind blown a second time!About an hour later I get a call from my wife saying that Alex had just left and all she had to do was hand him the keys. He checked ALL brake components during the visit, replacing only what truly needed to be replaced, and the final bill was exactly what he had quoted me. He even left a gift card to be used on any future services. Absolutely the best auto related service weve ever received. Needed last minute brake service completed one evening at the end of the work day. All the local shops were already closed. I called The Brake Squad and it was received by owner Joe, explained the situation and he agreed to come out himself and take care of it. As if I wasnt already asking for last minute brake and rotor replacement, they were also willing to take care of another vehicle we had in need of the same service as well. Poor service where they insisted that I needed rear rotors for my car...they wanted to charge me over $400 to complete the job where I was able to do it for half off not only that...the Mechanic who replaced the rear advised me that the front was the issue...when I called the Brake Squad back they came by and changed their story to the front rotors that changed a couple of months ago were defective and they replaced under warranty however I didnt need rear rotors yet...bad experience and will never use them again!

This is the 2nd time I have used Brake Squad. Hands down, the BEST auto service I have ever received.(both times). They are quick, professional, with quality service at a price that cant be beat. Most of all, they are HONEST(which is rare these days in auto repair). I had my prius in the dealer for a recall...the service advisor recommended Front and rear brake replacement to the tune of over $1000. I declined and reserved with brake squad. When Alex showed up, he inspected the front brakes and explained there was plenty of wear left on the front.....no need for replacement at this time. He replaced the rear pads and rotors in about 45min. The price was under $450...the price I was quoted for both front/rear was $750(well under dealer price). The day my brakes failed I was on my way to the third of three meetings. Traveling from Reston to McLean I made a desperate call to Brake Squad to see if they could help me resolve my smoking brake situation AND still be able to make my last meeting.As it turned out, I gave them my destination address and they met me there and assessed the situation. If only all car repairs were this easy, effortless, and enjoyable...While they currently only service Virginia, they were willing to take care of me if I could drive to one of the locations where they service an organizations entire fleet of vehicles. I was quoted a time of 1hr 40min. They were done in about 68min. All 4 brakes, all 4 rotors replaced. Originally it was going to be just the front rotors and all 4 pads, but when they pulled off the back rotors and I saw those stress fractures in the metal... Well, it was a no-brainer. I had them do it all.There is no up-selling. They only do brakes. I checked around and their prices are competitive with everyone else who gave me a quote in Maryland. Their Yelp ratings are as good as it gets because their service is as good as it gets. I tend to be fiercely loyal once I find something good. So as long as I am living in the DMV, I will be using the Brake Squad for all of my familys brake service needs.

The emergency brake on my 16 year old Celica locked up while my car was parked in my garage. The car would not move. My regular mechanic invited me to have the car towed to his shop, where he said he would check it out when he could get to it. I found the Brake Squad by doing an internet search (Northern Virginia and brakes), and gave them a call on a Saturday morning. Within four hours, Alex was at my house. He identified and fixed the problem in less than an hour. His work was meticulous. In addition to repairing the emergency brake he also inspected the cars drum and disc brakes. While every repair manual calls for it, until today Ive never seen a mechanic actually check lug nuts with a torque wrench. The price charged was exactly as estimated -- and was less than the price of a tow alone. The company obviously works one customer at a time to earn great reviews for value and service. The next time I need brake work, the Brake Squad will be getting my business.
