I have used Experimax for many of my Apple repair needs. They are always professional, FULL of knowledge, and charge a very fair price for what they do! I needed a battery for my Macbook, everywhere I checked needed to keep my computer for 1-4 weeks! Who can do without their computer for that long! Experimax changed it while I waited! I trust them and will always use them! They also have refurbished computers for a great price!

This is the best place to get your phone fixed! Ive been to the Experimax location in Carytown and this location- both have wonderful staff and reasonable prices. Ive been to other iPhone repair places such as Fruit Fixed, and they charge an arm and a leg for a repair... but not here! The staff was very knowledgeable and told me exactly how they checked to see what was wrong with the phone so I knew what they were fixing/what I was paying for. Coming from Williamsburg, we know its not always convenient for the Glen Allen store to drop everything and answer questions or make repairs on the spot, or even sell/make operational/instruct the use of new items. Nonetheless, thats what Mark and his crew do, day in and day out. And, thats the main reason, along with our Star rating, that when we have a computer need, we travel the distance to Experimax Glen Allen. They know what theyre doing and they take care of the clientele. I was afraid it would be too expensive to fix my Samsung tablet screen ! Well it wasnt and when they accidently broke the screen they replaced the whole tablet! Recently they repaired my iphone 6 it works better than new! IF your looking for a fair price and good work they are great . The owner is a man of his word.

The Experimax team provided great services to my pressing needs to migrate my voice and data from my phone to my computer. They were very efficient and effective in resolving my computing needs such as backing up my data from my phone to my computer and preparing it for migration to my new phone.
I have been a customer since 2017 and I cannot give enough praise to the owner. He explains in detail what is needed and promptly repairs the problem. I have had one of his employees come to me residence to fix a malfunction and was amazed at the politeness and prompt solution to my problem. I wanted to share my experience at Experimac yesterday (10/2). - Our 6th generation IPAD was broken since the charger would get into the IPAD. After circling back with many local folks who repair IPADs - the price tag laid out was between 100-150 bucks. Being mentally prepared for the sticker shock, I visited Experimac and in less than 5 mins they found out the issue and fixed it right away! What a delightful experience! After all this, Mark did not even charge me a penny! This is real customer service focusing on building customer relationships rather than others just trying to make money. I still savor the experience from yesterday and it has left an indelible mark on me!

I brought my MacBook Pro and my MacBook Air to Experimax because both devices needed an upgraded operating system. As it turned out, I actually needed a new MacBook Pro, and I purchased it from this store. Mark and Anthony were very helpful and patient with me throughout the process. They really wanted me to be happy with my computers when the work was finished. I overheard their conversations with other customers while I was waiting for things to load on my computers, and I was impressed with their knowledge and patience. Mark even arranged to go to a customer’s location when Experimax closed at 7 pm, so they offer a lot of great customer service. The store isn’t swamped with customers like the Apple Genius Bar, so I never felt rushed to explain what was going on with my computers. It’s great to be on a first-name basis with these tech gurus!

Had a good experience with Mark at the glen allen location. Had to get a new display on my 2061 MacBook pro retina because I couldnt handle the vertical lines on the screen any longer. Was able to get it done in a day and picked up the next morning. Although the experimac in the fan quoted me $450 for the repair and out the door with the glen allen branch was $530, I am still happy its done. Thanks

We went there with a challenging data transfer request from a damaged mac to new one. The conventional methods didn’t work and things got challenging. The team was very knowledgeable and accomodating. After multiple attempts, once they figured out the working route, they explained us how to do it with lot of patience. And at the end only charged us for the actual cords we bought. The facilities were extremely neat as well.

****Update:After another email exchange with the manager, I have NOT received any response from the owner of the store. I requested this TWICE! They offered to refund my money, but I will have to go to the store to get that done. As of right now, the computer reboots an average of 8-10 times before it will run in the mornings. I have a logic board on order and will replace it myself. After some google research, I found this to be a fairly common occurrence. Since Experimax is a reportedly an Apple expert, I would have expected them to know this. Their diagnostic process is poor and my experience with them was a giant waste of time.I took my computer to the Glen Allen location for repair. The diagnostic fee at $50 seemed like a smart way to move forward. The person in the store was very nice and I left it there thinking it was in good hands. He told me he would get back to me by the end of the day and he did, as promised. He stated that they ran Apple Diagnostics which came back clean. No surprise because I did the same before I took it to Experimax. He stated that they had been running YouTube for hours with no issues, so I asked him to let it go to sleep and try in the morning which is when it was having the boot issues.The following day, the problem booting up resurfaced. He said it was the ram causing the issue and replaced it. The price for the diagnostic was wrapped into the repair and I was a happy customer.I got home, plugged in the computer to find it was having the same boot up problem as before. I called the store and got the same person. The conversation did not go as well. He got extremely defensive and would not let me talk. Said my computer was a 2011 and I could get a credit towards the purchase of one of their computers. His explanation of the diagnostic procedure was basically that they replaced parts until it worked satisfactorily. I could have done the same thing! So, basically he was saying they had no idea what is wrong with it and his solution was to sell me another computer that they had reconditioned. THEY COULD NOT EVEN TELL ME WHAT IS WRONG WITH MINE! Why would I spend more money on a computer they certified?!I am a small business owner and do not use a review as a weapon to get what I want. I would not want someone to do that to me, so I do not take what I am writing lightly. The diagnostic process they used was nothing more that what anyone else could do by watching YouTube or doing a Google search. I tried to find a corporate phone number to register a complaint and there is none listed on the Experimax website. I have reached out to another location to get a corporate number so that my experience could be shared with someone who would, first let me talk without interruption and also offer a path to a proper diagnosis, so that I can make a more informed decision about repair vs replace.For the record, my mid 2011 iMac is one of the most sought after versions because it is so easily repaired and or modified. The “manager” at this location had no clue.

They fixed it right away with a new hard drive. Bought a used product at the store, the manager or sales person refused to test the product for me. When i asked if i could return the item if found not operational, he could not affirm that. The item i bought was 10 years old with signs of average use. Requested for a discount, he could not lower the price a penny less. All stock if over priced.....keep away

Just wanted to express my appreciation and satisfaction with Experimax Glen Allen. Had occasion the other day, to visit your outlet, in the hopes that something might be done to get my old MacBook Pro up and running. We spoke with Mark and he went out of his way to assure us that after doing some diagnostics, hed probably be able to get it running again. And true to his word, within an hour, Mark had installed a new battery, and done an amazing job of cleaning up (removing some bothersome viruses) the hardware. I couldnt have been happier, inasmuch as Old Mac had served my limited needs very well, and I was not keen on buying new. Mark was most accommodating, extremely knowledgeable and patient, from the git go! If you are ever in need of service or need an upgrade, I highly recommend Experimax Glen Allen. OWNER STOLE MY MONEY IN JULY & STILL NO REFUND... CROOKED BUSINESS!!!!! I purchased a laptop from this shop and returned it a few days because Best Buy had an open box for a BRAND NEW Macbook (w. Touch ID) for $7 more than what he sold for a 2015. When I returned it he CHARGED me AGAIN instead of refunding me for a total of $1474. This was in July. I have been back to his store 3xs to resolve this.. the last time he tried to give me a starter check instead of refunding back to my card. Then asked for a receipt as if he doesnt remember me or stealing my money. I show him the email copy of the purchase and refund receipt. He refuses my refund because he needs the original paper copy. He knows that I have disputed the charge with the bank but pretends he doesnt have the receipt as well. After I leave the store on my way out of town...he magically finds the receipt and calls/emails me. Of course he STILL does not respond to my bank claims to refund my money. Here we in October months later and I still have only received half of my funds back from my bank--not him. They are resending a dispute to him today because he refuses to respond. BUYER BEWARE.....I hope someone reads this before shopping here. GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!!!!!In response to the owner--You know that what you are saying is NOT true. I came the first time you wasted my time and served everyone else but me. That was a few days after I realized I was double charged 8/2. I requested a charge back on 8/5 as the receipts show...you state the bank told you not to contact me yet the receipts once again shows that you told me you would refund my money via email. When I arrived AGAIN to get a refund with my card you told me you needed the receipt AS IF YOU DIDNT KNOW WHAT YOU DID! You emailed me!! You made me wait an extra 30 minutes to try and write me a starter check bc you refused to put it back on the card even though the bank contacted you prior. Please just stop. All I want is my $738 back
Am updating my previous review of 4/23/20. Mark, the owner and I met and resolved our issue. We went over the issue in detail covering the reasons for the malfunction and why things happened the way they did. I now understand better the failure. Mark also stated he was living up to his agreement and refunded the #50 diagnostic fee. He is truly and honorable businessman and I would use him again..
Tried to update software on an iPhone and was left with a black screen with the white Apple logo. Tried to restore the phone, also tried to bring the phone back to factory settings and the phone was frozen. Held off replacing the phone until visiting Experimax. My phone was fully restored by Patrick. Excellent Customer Service by Mark and Patrick.

Best place to go. They were very honest as to what was going on with both my and my mom’s phones. They did not try to sell me on something we didn’t need done, and did an excellent job on what did need to be done. I would highly recommend it here!
I took my laptop to this store to remove broken power connector from the laptop, as simple as it is, charged $80 to remove it, it was difficult to communicate with the guy who is running the shop, gets frustrated for everything. he asked me to leave my laptop in the store along with password for my laptop, when i hesitated to provide password, he got irritated and asked me where am i from? it seems he has to ask this question to himself, Security is a very big concern and we all know. He said all his customers write the password on work orders and he brought some work orders and tried to show it to me, i refused to look at it and said i do not want to look at other peoples work orders or their passwords. I wrote my password and later i came back in 10 minutes and said i want to erase my password from my work order, he brought the work order from the room inside and reading my password. Seems competent, but $500 for repairing display on a seven year old computer is a non-starter, as is a $100 offer for the then top-of-the-line machine. Wife booked the appt, so Im not sure if the $50 diagnostic fee was disclosed to her or not, but it is noted on the web site, so not docking another star for that. We presumably would have gotten $50 if wed accepted the buy offer.Mark also did not give me back the power supply when I picked it up, which is another $30 down the toilet. Ill be setting the computer for use with her old G5 display using an old Apple A1006 adapter so she can use her publishing apps.Update: Mark reached out and asked us to pick up the power supply, so upgrading to 4 stars. We did the Apple A1006 adapter solution to connect the MBP to her old ADC display, and the G5 is now trash.

He is a liar and he will say anything to get your money and show that he done the best for you but in fact he he just want to take your money and anything you have doesnt work so he buy it from you dirt cheap to make more money of it .he hold my laptop for 5 days and told me he got the part for it to fix it and he put it together when I went home my laptop fall a part and i found out he just put electric black tape all round to hold everything together while hesaid he use best glue and fix it everything. Basically I have paid $200.00 for electric black tape .
