Had a great first experience. I haven’t had an eye exam in years and Dr. Berkovich made me feel very comfortable and answered all of my questions. I didn’t feel pressured to buy glasses here and the staff was very very friendly.

They make it easy to schedule your yearly exam and have always attended me at my scheduled time, always courteous too!

This is one of the better places to get a proper eye prescription. Very happy. Been going there for two years because of the optometrist and staff.

Went here for the first time this year and had a great experience. I was hesitant because I had never been here before but Vanessa helped me out a lot ! She was patient and kind. Not to mention that she made sure to lay out my options for contacts and also recommendations. Definitely continuing my eye care journey with Pearle Vision.

One of the gentlemen was really rude. I walked in the store with my brother to drop him off to get the eye exam. He asked us to take the temperature. My brother did as he said. However, I had no problem of doing that but I told him that I am gonna step out and be right back. Guess what he told me, Are you in the store?. I work as a customer service before. There are so many way to ask your customer nicely. I guess I will never come back here ever.

Always a great experience at this location. Lana, the manager, works her hardest to get the most out of your insurance and coupons available.Dr. Berkovich is great. With my challenging script, it makes it quite difficult to find a happy medium. He’s super patient and offers advice to what will work best for my eyes.

Dr. Berkovich was great for both my daughters eye exams. Hes very professional and informative. Tony helped all 3 of us with our glasses. He went above and beyond to resolve a problem on my progressive lenses, even though it wasnt their error. The other staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful too.

I went to check up my eyes over there. Doctor was good. But, one of the staffs was not professional. I dont know her name. Sorry, I couldn’t provide her details.When I asked questions regarding lens which I was not sure about. She was getting irritated after listening my questions and responed rudely. It was appaling at that time. Additionally, delivery time is quite lengthy too. I requested them to call me when my two glasses are ready because I want to have less contact and outing during COVID. But staff ( she) called me and said all ready. I came to the store and realized that one pair of glasses would be delayed. It seemed like they don’t have the lens stocked in the store. Also, they don’t provide the glasses in a any carry bags. Although it was my own glass and I gave for repairing so I didn’t expect any case. However, she just gave me my glasses in my hand. I asked her that can I have a carry pouch ? ( because I was wearing already another pair of glasses) then she provided me. These are very common things that any optical business provides. I will not recommend at all.

I needed to get new glasses and wasn’t sure which style I was looking for. Tony helped me find the perfect glasses for me! I appreciate his honesty and humor. I felt very comfortable with his opinions and expertise as well. My number one place to go for eye care!

Dr. Berkovich literally saved my vision. I happened to be in town and asked about contacts I have my regular eye doctor in Aurora where I live. He found out my doctor had given me a wrong prescription there was a significant difference of what he saw and I was so shocked. He went out of his way to make sure my eyes felt comfortable I bought my contacts and came back for another pair of glasses. The staff was great they made me all feel so comfortable and welcomed so I don’t mind the drive because they make it worth it.

The staff and Doctors were extremely helpful and friendly. The Sales Associate Ashley was more than willing to help me out with understanding the breakdown of prices, helping with lense selections, and overall made the entire appointment fast, efficient, and easy.

I am very disappointed with policies regarding contact returns. When I FINALLY received my PARTIAL order of contacts I immediately wrote an ‘L’ or ‘R’ on the boxes so I wouldn’t mixed them up. After opening ONE box and using ONE pair (dailies) I discovered that I could not see clearly out of one eye. No big deal - the wrong strength must have been ordered. I went in with my PARTIAL order to return the wrong ones when I was told that because I DAMAGED the boxes by WRITING on them THEY COULD NOT BE RETURNED!!!!!! So now I have almost a year worth of useless contacts and am out several hundred dollars?!?!?The corporate office will be contacted regarding this locations horrible policy, and lack of patient/customer care.I will NOT be returning to this location and suggest that YOU DO NOT go to this location unless you want to pay for their mistakes. 👎👎👎👎👎👎

The ladies at the front were super kind, and I enjoyed there company as they were positive, helpful, and made me feel very welcome. On the other hand, the pre-examiner seemed very cold. I was uncomfortable with her, and she also expressed her frustration right in front of me about an insurance issue she was encountering with me. I also did not appreciate seeing one of the nice ladies at the front being mistreated by someone higher than her - reprimanding her in front of me (which made me very uncomfortable as it did her I’m sure). Very undeserving as she was doing her job well- very unprofessional. Doctor was great.

Tony (Optician) was a great help - he picked out the perfect frames and worked to ensure they would be ready in a timely manner! Highly recommend for thorough and efficient service.

Spoke with the rudest most unprofessional scheduler on the phone today and decided to take my business elsewhere.

Ive been here twice now for glasses. And both times Ive received 5 star service. This weekend I made an appt online on Saturday @ 5:30 pm and was in front of an experienced ophthalmologist by 12:30 the next day. Seamless! Dr Kulbak was great. She confirmed that my eyes are healthy (always a relief) via the results of a high tech scanner and helped to determine my prescription.Tony helped me to select the right glasses and navigate through the purchase. Very personable and knowledgeable. I walked out less than an hour later with peace of mind and soon Ill have the right prescription for my ever changing eyes. All of this on a Sunday! What more could someone ask for? They are great and I highly recommend.

Once again cant express enough how helpful everyone at this place is. I had a concern about my glasses, felt like they werent working for me. After a few tweaks and visits..... They made it work for me. All of them have been so very helpful. They wont stop until they get it right and youre satisfied. Thank you so much for all your help.

Between us, my husband and I recently got 5 pairs of glasses at Pearl Vision in Gurnee. Eye exam was thorough and service was excellent overall (thank you Carlos!). We love our new glasses, and will definitely return next year!.

Friendly and good service, but not worth the cost if you have vision insurance. Pearle Visions pricing seems to be made for people without insurance. This is because they inflate their prices and then have really good deals they can advertise. Unfortunately, these arent available in combination with vision insurance. I do, and paid more total than if I had gone somewhere else. Besides cost, their glasses were great.

The Dr. who was filling in for Dr. Berkovich on Sun 2/23/2020 was really great with my son, who is only 5 years old. It isnt easy to keep a child at that age focused or still, especially because it was his first eye exam ever. It took a good while for her to get his vision, but she was patient and friendly with him. The guy who took my son for the pre exam however was not as patient and was showing his frustrations as both my son and I attempted to get his face to sit well and still in the devices they use in pre exam.After the exam, when it was time to pick out frames I got VERY LITTLE assistance from the 3 individuals sitting there with no other customers in the office. I was unaware that they were close to closing time, so I let my son browse and try some frames on. I asked for help understanding coverage for frames vs lenses and didnt get much of an answer. I asked for help with figuring out which of the 30+ frames were within the price range for that coverage and got no help. I asked for help with seeing which of the frames are meant for a smaller face and got no one over to the wall of glasses to help me.When another customer came in to pick up his glasses, the man who was working made a rude comment to the customer saying You should thank these ladies (the 2 women working) in here because we close at 4 and it is 4:05 and usually we are out of here right on the minute. My son and I were checked out and out of there maybe 10-15 mins after 4pm, as again I didnt know they closed because we didnt get out of the exam room until 10 mins to 4pm, which did not give us much time to look around.I work customer service and that is no way to treat a customer. I will NOT be returning to Pearle Vision.

Absolutely love this Pearle Vision!!! They are caring and attentive to all of my vision needs every time. The manager, Lana is fabulous. Always helps me pick out glasses that best fit my face.

This Pearle Vision is hands down the best contacts/glasses establishment I have ever been to. I go out of my way to make sure I go to this location for all my eye needs. Dr. Berkovich is fantastic! This location also has a great selection of glasses to choose from, and the staff is absolutely wonderful. When I went there many years ago back in the 90s, I had a horrific experience at this location ehen they gave me run-around, after run-around,after run-around, after run-around, after run-around,after run-around, after run-around! Maybe since then theres been a turnover in the staff and its better now, because Im hearing mostly good reviews on this location. I really need a new pair of frames and I want one similar to an oval, gold pair I really love a lot. They were pricier than another pair someone else (who was a critic) wanted me to get. But I argued that ITS MY FACE!!! And I wanted them to look nice for work! Theyre atleast 15 years old now. 😂 Hahahahaha!Thats how much I still love them! And I want another pair very close to them. Theyre Vogue frames. Until I see for myself theres a good turn over at this location, I gave them one star.

The staff is nice, however they didnt give me a whole lot of options. I walked in with sunglasses, that I purchased there, that had a huge scratch on the lenses. The only thing they would let me do was to schedule an appointment to see the eye doctor since I was over due (understandable) and that they couldnt replace the lenses because my prescription expired. I dont really see how an eye glass prescription can expire, or why they couldnt just replace the lenses to get me by until I had the time and money to come in to see the doctor. Not very happy with how quickly my request was shot down, and that the only option was to schedule an appointment with the doctor. Have to say, I dont think Ill ever go back.

I always like going to this location. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I always feel like I can trust the doctor and assistants. They always have a good selection of high quality glasses.

Was disappointed/ disturbed by cleanliness. My oldest son went to have his eyes looked at through the initial machines and the tissue wasnt changed or machine wiped down. Figured they do that at the end of each use, I didnt say anything. Then my next child went next and noticed the same tissue there (since my 1st son left lunch crumbs on the tissue). The eye exam and doctor did a good job and was happy with that part. When it came to look and order glasses, they were pushy on up sales. I asked for a proce for basic readers and came out to them adding anti glare and extra warrenty which is exactly what I didnt ask for. A basic reading glass for my one child came to almost 250 out of pocket... after a good insurance contribution. I put that on hold and went to another store and just ordered 4 pairs of glasses for under 160 dollars. Didnt feel they were very honest or clean, will not be returning or referring.

I have gone to pearl for my glasses for over 20 years now and like there professional, fast and friendly service. Theyre a little pricey however, you may be able to find lenses cheaper somewhere else. I did exactly that, I went somewhere the last time and still paid fairly high price for regular/bifocal. The quality wasnt quite as good and to have them adjust your glasses at a later time you had to make an appointment. At Pearl whenever Ive gone to get my glasses adjusted they did them on the spot. I would give them an excellent if their prices came down 10-15%.

I had a great experience here. I had a few concerns about an infection in my left eye. Dr. Eugene Berkovich took care of me and my problem. He gave me my medication free of charge and even gave me a discount for the visit. I recommend this place!

It was a hair expensive but the costumer service was good and to me it’s worth the couple extra bucks.they have a lot of cool frames by top fashion companies.they do the sunglasses lenses,regular lenses and everything in between.this is my second time here and I’ll probably come back for my next pair.

Went there to get my Oakley sunglasses repaired. I dropped them and cracked one if the lenses. Because they were more than 1 year old I would need a new prescription with new lenses. I was quoted $569! Ridiculous! Unethical in my opinion!

Had my eyes examined due to my internet self diagnosis of having Myopia (Near sightedness)I was surprised at how much the nicer frames cost compared to the cheapo versions but thats not the point of this review.Dr. Eugene Berkovich was awesome. Very friendly and listened well, performed many tests and explained everything thoroughly. In the end I did need glasses. I am the last one in my large family to get them.The sales staff, Sal and Donna E were also professional, offered eye wear opinions, explained how the insurance process and warranty worked.As always YMMV. I had a great experience and recommend this facility and its staff to others in the area.

I had an eye exam at the Pearle Vision in Gurnee, IL and was given a new prescription. I ordered the new lenses and waited a week and a half for them to arrive. When the lenses arrived, they were the wrong size. I waited another week and a half and the 2nd set of lenses. They were installed in my frames and I told the the lady the lenses did not seem right, she assured me they were. I wore them the entire next day and had a headache and a difficult time with my vision. I returned to the shop that evening, was seen by a different eye doctor there and was given an different prescription, I then ordered a 3rd set of lenses. I waited another week and a half and the lenses were installed in my frames and again they were wrong. The lab tech came out looked at my lenses went took my lenses back into the lab. The lady that works up front came to me and said they needed to order a 4th set of lenses! I absolutely refused and got my money back. I will NEVER go to Pearle Vision - especially in Gurnee, IL ever again. I do not recommend this store to anyone. The only reason I have given them 1 star is because I cannot leave a review without giving at a minimum 1 star.

This place has terrible service. I called to book an appt and then offered to fax my ins card and was told they accept all ppo networks and that they didn’t need the card because they have another company that handles the billing. We arrive at the appt only to wait over an hour because the office triple booked clients and we had to wait. When asked about the insurance I told the lady the info I was given earlier and she was clueless and asked if I had a name of who I spoke to and I said no but mentioned I have a high deductible and didn’t care what we paid as long as my husbands eye was treated because it was irritated and red. The lady told us she asked the doctor and he said if we paid cash then he would give us a discount and that he wouldn’t put it through the insurance. Im in compliance so this was a huge red flag and I reiterated I will pay whatever is needed but I wanted it to be submitted and my husband to b seen. This was a medical eye visit so our need was urgent and we had already inquired about the long wait and the lady assured us we were next. A Caucasian lady walks in the door way after us and the doctor brings her in before my husband when it was very obvious we were next. When I complained about this his staff agreed we were next and apologized for the doctors behavior. They didn’t know why he choose this lady before us but at this point it didn’t matter because my husband and I both lost over an hour of our time only to not be seen for his urgent medical eye issue. I don’t know if this was a racial preference because the doctor was Caucasian or if he thought we didn’t have money to pay but regardless he wasn’t professional or respectful of his order of appointments. My family is fortunate to have a six figure income so money was not an issue.I will never return to this eye doctor as he has shown us to be highly unethical as well as disrespectful. My husband who is Mexican and in a mechanic uniform was so furious he walked out the door feeling like the doctor was a racist! I demanded an explanation and the staff apologized and agreed the doctor took this other lady before us and we had an appt. The doctor sudenly walks out with the lady and I demanded an answer and he didn’t have one and just said I can take you now. I said it’s too late we have been waiting for over an hour and walked out!Truly Uphalled and Dissatisfied!!!! Do Not Recommend!!

I was in a car accident that prohibits my driving right now ..Called pearl vision . My eye exam is due and asked if I could get 1 or 2 months of contacts to hold me over till I Can get there.. The response was no .. I need to have my eye exam or they can can not give me a month or two of contacts..Spoke with Salvador at the store. .. manager.. supposedly...asked for district manager.. was told there is nt ot one... Pearls vision in Gurnee is independent owned and operated. ..they cam do what they want !! Just as 2 YRS ago i showed up fr am appointment and tj sore was closed witj a sign in the window closed ... all personal info was in plastic tubs in front of the store... I AM DONE WITH PEARLE VISION IN GURNEE!!! SALVADOR YOU ARE NO HELP!! WILL NOT BE LETTING YOU OR UR STORE HELP ME WITH MY VISION NEEDS.....GOING ELSEWHERE! !! WOULD NEVER RECOMMENDED PEARLE VISION IN GURNEE OWNER SALVADOR! !!

Worst experience Ive ever had. Dr. Kubliak was rude. I drove 25 miles out of the way to go to this place on a Sunday. They forced me to drive back twice for an unnecessary follow-up exam(which they made me sit around for 30 mins after my appointment time to complete).Then after the follow up appointment they called me to inform me that they forgot to charge me and I needed to come back to pay them because of their error they made when they were late for servicing me for my appointment. Now I go back and find out that they made an error on the date and Dr. Kubliak made an error on my exam for my appointment and so my eyeglass prescription is mistakenly expired.Avoid this place and the hastles.
