The Gurnee LensCrafters location is amazing. The receptionist, Sheila was super friendly and welcoming. Dr. Ho was friendly as well and also very informative. Im never good at sitting for the glaucoma test, and she made it quick and easy. Ive been going here for a few years now and wouldnt want to go anywhere else.

Eileen(?) was great at communicating and interacting with customers. Not so good with doing her actual job. Overcharged the insurance, LOST my original glasses, new glasses were lopsided and werent even fitted. Dannielle was great at repairing her mistakes, returned the money and fit the glasses for us. So nice and through, 10/10 would see her again.

I was impressed with the thorough eye exam. Special shout out to Sheila, Karina & Jazmin. I was having issues with my vision upon receipt of my new glasses. The issue had to do with the way glasses rest on the bridge of my nose. They tried so hard to get my glasses adjusted, but ultimately I had to shop for a new frame. It took a lot of work to find a frame that would give me a proper fit. A real team effort. I am awaiting my new pair and feel confident they will work. Way to go TEAM!! I appreciate the time an effort you put in to help me. I recommend you give them a try.

I stopped in unexpected with a request. I was not told I can’t do that nor was I turned away! I was welcomed and my request was received warmly. Because of the response. I bought a $980 pair of glasses!

Doctor Ho was magnificent. After my exam Aylin guided me along with my frame options. A truly hassle free experience!!! Highly recommend this fine establishment.

I went to LenCrafters on Friday in hopes to purchase a pair of glasses in time for my wisdom teeth extraction on Monday. When I told Sheila, she said she would to her best to arrange that for me. To my delight, she told me not only would I be able to have my glasses before then, but they would be able to make them in an hour! I was beyond elated! Dahni also did a wonderful job in cutting the lens for the frame I chose. I have a higher prescription and I was worried the frame would look odd with the thicker lens. In the end, I had no reason for concern because they came out beautifully. Thank you so much Sheila and Dahni!

Karina and Sheila were A-MAZ-ING! So helpful and patient! They helped us find a discount (50% for people less than 20) that made getting needed new glasses possible!Could not have had a better experience! WONDERFUL service!

While you pay a little more then you would at other places that sell glasses the extra money is worth it. The last place I went was Affordable Optical. They were much better. I went to that place 5 years ago and when I got my eyes exammed at Lens Crafters they said they are in better shape then that place did 5 years ago. Staff is friendly and works with you. They even offered discounts.

First time here. Team is very nice and respectful. The doctor was great. Very hard to find good eye doctors. I would recommend this place to anyone.

The entire staff at this store was beyond phenomenal. They even had an incredibly rude patient who was over the top obnoxious, and they were nothing but courteous toward him. Dr. Hene was extremely kind and patient with me. Sheila was an excellent, kind, and friendly help and really lit up the store with her friendliness and laughter. Dannielle was incredibly helpful and gave me multiple prices and the help was way above and beyond what Ive received elsewhere. It was my first time there and it was honestly the best eye appointment I have had in my life. So smooth, and the staff was so kind and helpful. I am actually excited to have this as my new eyecare provider.

Came into this location on a time crunch to get a new pair of glasses for my son. We were not greeted by Sheila, but once she over heard my dilemma she took the reins and what an excellent customer service experience did she exude. They were not taking any more appointments for the day but she got us in! We were able to get our new pair of glasses in less than 12 hours!! GIVE THIS EMPLOYEE A RAISE ALREADY! 10 stars all around.. We visited LensCrafters for an eye exam for my husband. We did not have an appointment but they were gracious enough to offer us an appointment within the hour. The staff were very friendly especially Dr. Weinstein. My husband said he felt very comfortable with her and her manner of explaining everything to him. We were then helped by Sheila who helped my husband choose his eye glass frames and she was very thorough about the type of glasses he would receive. Sheila is a very competent and caring person who made the whole experience better with her knowledge and outgoing personality. I went to pick up my glasses, Amanda was very rude about a question I had because I wanted a picture of my preach. After walking 15 feet over to her coworker and hearing her complain about me she called a manager at another store, and slamming a binder on the counter, the manager gave the ok. I was able to receive a copy of my paperwork. Not cool chic, maybe you shouldn’t work with people if you don’t want to answer questions.The rest of my experience was great, but that is definitely not the way I want to end my customer service experience at a place where I just spent a little chunk of cash.

I have to say that I have never had a worse experience at a retail store before. I came in to look for a new pair of glasses and it didn’t seem like the lady cared to sell anything (I believe her name was Amanda).She was rude & didn’t want to help me even though the store wasn’t busy. I will never step back into this store and I would recommend other people to find somewhere else to shop for your glasses.

I am what most people would call a hermit, I have not been outside my home except for work in over 3 years. I am cranky, not easy to get along with and I was dealing with pain and stress when I entered your store. Not the best customer. I had my exam which was good! Then I went to choose my glasses, I was stressed out and nervous and this young woman took care of me.... she was so very kind even though I at first treated her unkindly. She truly did her best to make me feel comfortable. She did not seem to be in a rush and she did not seem to be upset when I just could not make up my mind! I have recently been told that I am going to lose my insurance so I wanted to be sure to get some glasses before I lose my insurance and so for the first time in over 3 years I left the comfort zone of my home and work to go into a store and I am so glad that this young lady was the one who took care of me and I want to be sure that she is given credit. She treated me so well! I was not so nice to her when I first sat down and yet she was really nice to me! She was patient and kind and if she did not know the answer to a question I had, she found others who could answer my question... she was fantastic! Her name is Nelly and because of her I stayed and ordered a pair of glasses! SHE made the sale!

I decided to give them a try since they offer a wide selection of lenses. However, they somehow didn’t get my prescription correctly. I just went back to America’s Best. They do offer great selection but unfortunately I had better service and quality over at America’s Best. I love the styles and the ray bans but too pricey. Wish I had I a good experience. Staff was okay. No complaints about that.

Wish I could give this place a 0. A lady named Amanda who I was informed later on was the manager was shockingly unprofessional. I came in about 4 weeks ago just to browse and tried to ignore the facts that she was standing behind the counter on her phone!!! She didn’t ask me if I needed help while her other employees were scrambling. Eventually I was sat down and she told me “an associate would be with me in a minute” I proceeded to sit there for 20 minutes while she was again behind the counter on her phone playing a video. All other employees were kindly assisting customers. Not understanding why she is above helping me? I decided to leave and try again another day after in hopes that it was just a bad day for her. I went back in a few days ago and stood at the door while she was again behind the desk. Her and a lady with shorter brown hair were both ignoring me at the door. I’m starting to wonder if they were uncomfortable with the language barrier but I am very confused why both times I came I was not helped by her. The staff seemed very depleted and I’m hoping there are days when their manager does help them out. Very disappointed. Will not be returning.

My husband and I recently purchased new prescription glasses and prescription sunglasses. I usually am overwhelmed by all the frames to choose from and the girls there were very helpful and patient with me. My husband had to return his glasses because the lenses were manufactured a bit off the mark in one eye. The staff was very apologetic and reordered new lenses for him. The manager, Amanda and her crew (Aileen and others), are excellent as far as customer service. Thanks so much to them for their hard work and for the extra precautions they took to keep us safe during this pandemic.

Very prompt and Curtious service

The eye exam was fine! Eye doctor was good but the customer service was horrible! Only one person out of five was willing to help me! I ordered two glasses. One sunglasses and the other regular glasses! My sunglasses came in and they never contacted me! I had to call and check the status! Then I had to wait two more weeks to get my regular glasses when they arrived a week early and again, nobody called to inform me! But, the store has no problem taking your money! I will not be going back next year!

I had a great experience with my visit. The Dr. and sales rep helped me with all the questions I had. I got the best suggestions related to my eyes, and was pretty happy with the visit.

9/28/2020: Poor customer service. My wife and I finally broke down and made an appointment for an annual eye exam. The staff were friendly and courteous. They explained everything very well. Paid the hundreds of dollars and waited for the notification that the glasses arrived.When we went to pick them up, it was more like okay, now get the hell out of here. Didnt even offer to adjust mine. A few days later, went back to pick up my wifes glasses. At least they offered to adjust hers; however, they had an attitude as if to say I dont like dealing with people and I cant wait to get out of this place!Well, its that time of the year when I can make a difference and select a different provider. Thank you Lenscrafters!

Sheila of LensCrafters Gurnee is the friendliest and most bubbly person I have ever met. Her customer service skills are ones that need to be read about in books. It should not go another day without the entire company knowing about her greatness. On 3/6/21 I went in to get a new pair of glasses. I normally go to the Racine, Wisconsin location, however, I think that will change after this experience. I had called ahead to see how busy it was and much like any Saturday, it was. My fiance and I walked in and were greeted by Sheila right away, temperatures taken and covid questions asked. As I was browsing the selection of brands, there were many people that walked in and the front desk and every other desk was filling up. When I found my perfect pair of glasses, Sheila was very quick to keep us posted on when we were next to be seen/helped. Sheila was also nice enough to take a moment and call up to Racines Lenscrafters to make sure my prescription was put in to the system so that she could help me. She called once and the gentleman on the other end was receptive, however, given their busy schedule he did not get to it right away. Sheila then called again to verify that it went in. Once we sat down at that desk with Sheila her attention was on us 100% of the time. After adjusting the glasses I chose to my face, she checked us out and answered every question I had perfectly. There was not one moment where I was confused and thats all thanks to Sheila. Please give her the recognition she deserves. I will be going to Gurnee, Illinois instead of Racine, Wisconsin location from now on.

My eyeglass prescription has not changed for well over 15 years. Then all the sudden for the first time I went to lenscrafters at Gurnee Mills Mall in Gurnee illinois. And I ordered a pair of glasses I had told them that they seemed a little different and they said its normal youll get used to them. Next year happens and I discover that my prescription has now changed because the glasses that I received last year weakened my eye muscles due to the curvature and the heightened prescription that they gave me. I will never go back to LensCrafters again. now theyre saying that I need to wear reading glasses on top of other types of glasses all within one year of wearing glasses that damaged my eyes.😡😡

Great service

Since covid started I delayed my appointment due to safety concerns. Anyhow I was told the hand sanitizers would be available when I called an schedule the appointment funny that I had to asked for the hand sanitizer because it was over the counter. I order my contacts over the phone since I my new born waiting for me to nurse her. I was told expect 7 to 12 days delivery. I asked if I could get a sample of contacts lens and Amanda the manager was quick to say she didn’t have any. Instead trying help me see if there any available. At Walmart when I placed my contacts orders and they didn’t have any boxes available they would give me a pair contacts while my prescription arrived. The last thing she could done is checked to see if they could possibly sell me another brand of prescriptions they have available something that Walmart offered. But Amanda was so quick to answer they don’t have any. Did not even bother to check my prescription or asked for customers name or anything. Poor customer service for someone who is called a manager. Idk if is covid that have people acting rude. Smh !!!!

Was told glasses would be 1-2 weeks. It will now be 3 weeks and i still dont have them. Kinda disappointing to pay for something that they still fail to deliver. Spend awhile on hold with no resolution. Guess they dont care once they have collected your money

Had a great experience here tonight and wanted to thank the store manager, David Johnson, for going out of his way to help. There was a quality issue with my son’s glasses and he quickly took care of it, getting my son back in his glasses tonight versus having to wait for the manufacturer to fix the issue. I already let go of the fact that I was there for three hours due to waiting for my exam because I was forgotten about after being dilated, and their system was down so I had to bear with excruciating small talk. PLUS after saying thousands of times that I did not want to purchase glasses, I sat holding my fiery rage as I was shown dozens more... anyways.. I have not gotten my contact lenses.. and with all this craziness going on I don’t even know when I will be able to get them. They were supposed to be delivered to my home but after reading other reviews, something tells me my contacts are still sitting around there somewhere. I wish I was given a call to pick the contacts up (even though they were supposed to be delivered to me). Who knows, maybe someone was smart enough to send them out.. maybe not. I’ll try going to a different lens crafters after this and hope I don’t go through this again.

Sat around until someone would assist me. 15min later i had to go up to the counter to insist on following up with my purpose of coming into the store. This location does not treat you as a valued guest. Nor did they find the frame i was looking for.

Originally I was mad because my glasses were broke. I made a couple of trips and they were still broke. Sheila promised to get an answer. She was Excellent. She remained calm and polite while I was not. She took care of my problem with a smile. Sheila was fantastic.

I wasn’t even able to call. Just wanted to setup an appointment and talk to someone about insurance coverage, but every time I called, the line would hang up on me as soon as I heard it get picked up by an associate. Do they even WANT business? I’ve had troubles with this place in the past, but I’ve always at least been able to call and schedule an appointment. Do yourself a favor, go anywhere else.

Took my daughter to get glasses they told me I would get a call when they were ready, no one called I waited 2 weeks, I called and they have been there the whole time. SHM - and to be honest the selection is not the best and the staff are also not very knowledgeable.

The workers here are all so kind and caring. I’ve been going here for more than 2 years and have never had any problems with them. The also have a great selection of different frames. I was never able to put contacts in till one of the eye examiners kindly taught me how, something no other eye care place has done haha!

I attempted to allow this LensCrafters to redeem themselves from my previous visit here. I usually do not go out the way to review a business, but this time; I just had too. They used to have a high quality of service at this location years ago. The last two visits have been nothing but issues, and headaches from ordering contacts to lost files on their part. The lack of professionalism exhibited from the employees, from answering the phone, to the way they talk to you about options regarding glasses/contacts tell a lot of how they really train their staff, or lack of training. I would not recommend anyone come to this location. This will be the last time I give them my business.

Would not recommend that much. The doctor was very nice and courteous, but the front desk not as much. Wanted to order contacts and they didnt even talk options with me just told me what brand they were ordering and how much. Then I was told it would be a week for the trial contacts so a week passed and they didnt even call me I had to call them, they said that day of week was too busy (Thursday) to try on my contacts so the lady on phone rescheduled me for that Saturday at 11 am. At 10:40 they call me after Im already at the mall saying they dont do contact fittings on weekends so yet again I have to wait almost another week. Do yourself a favor and get your contacts or glasses somewhere else.

I LOVED IT! Went in yesterday to get my sons first glasses and they were amazing! Everyone was kind and made my sons first glasses experience great! Definitely coming back for myself and my familys eye exams and glasses! This team was awesome! I told the Lab Tech Manager I felt like crying for how happy I am, literally had tears leaving the store. =)

Worse Place ever! Had my appointment at 5:00 PM. Two hrs later and I was still waiting and seeing other going in and out. First and last time visiting this joke place. They couldn’t even were able to find my insurance policy. Don’t waste your time in this place people.

Worst experience ever. After three hours left with no prescription, no glasses, no contacts. Sat ignored, when we tried to pay the balance was told to go to another chair after standing at the counter. Was promised a phone call. Never happened. Stay away! Don’t waste you’re time.
