Ive moved more times than I care to count and I must say that these movers were the absolute best Ive ever used. They were responsive, responsible and rolled easily with the difficulties of parking a huge truck both in Brooklyn and a tiny street in Philadelphia. They moved two huge storage lockers of decades of accumulated stuff, much of which wasnt even packed, carefully and swiftly. Ive had movers in the past pad on costs - not these guys. In fact, the whole move came to slightly lower than their estimate. Hopefully this was my last move, but if I were to ever do it again I wouldnt hesitate to hire Colonial. I wish I knew about them before!

Had them move 6 items be careful they stole a 1200$ necklace and i contacted the owner and he said tough luck i should have calked the police this is our conversation be very very careful of this company no accountability heres the conversation. Buyer beware

From the quote process to the time the movers arrived, I was very pleased with the customer service. However, my personal belongings were damaged. A dresser was broken and my Mac Desktop screen was cracked. The company is very keen to let you know they assume no responsibility for any damage to your property. The way I see it, there’s no incentive for a mover to ensure the safe delivery of your goods. I definitely understand accidents happen and when the dresser was broken while I was disappointed but I wasn’t truly upset. It wasn’t until I unpacked my Mac Computer and my screen which had been packed in a box by the movers was severely damaged. Had I known two major items were damaged, I certainly would not have provided a generous tip. I’ve used other moving companies in the past and I don’t believe other companies take accountability for damaged goods but I’ve never had two very expensive things severely damaged followed with a legal jargon response from the company. If you use this company, beware! The movers are not careful with your belongings and the parent company takes no responsibility at all.

I can not express my gratitude and appreciation for the wonderful job the movers with Colonial Moving and storage performed.Colonial was recommended as the movers for The Cupola (an assisted living facility). As you can imagine, moving your almost 80 year old widowed father from his home of over 35 years into assisted living is an overwhelming event. Joe Reynolds contacted us to decide date/time and get an assessment of what needed to be moved. He sent 4 guys to the house at 9am. These guys couldnt have been better if I hand selected them myself. They put a rug down to protect the carpet, they wrapped and boxed up pictures and glassware, moved tons of furniture. They even guided us with some of the items that we were unsure or just didnt think would be needed. By 2pm, they had moved my father into his new home, helped us move around the furniture and configure the best set up.It was the most pleasurable experience with moving Ive ever had, and Ive moved about 10 times in the past 18 years. Prepared, professional, friendly, hard working and cautious with your treasured belongings. I would recommend them to anyone.

Update: this move was incredibly professional from the time the movers arrived to the time they left! They treated my 89 yr old grandma with the upmost respect. Joked with her, and made her feel safe during Covid.I stayed the entire move, and have decided to hire them for our next move that just happened 3/14/21.My review for the most recent move will be separate, since I see that the company seems to be receiving poor reviews for a confusion between another company.So far so good!We have a verified date of move for my grandma. A confirmed price, and great customer service so far. I will update with post move feedback.Everyone is very friendly, and wanted to truly help us in our situation.

Beware, beware, beware!!!!!! Do not use this company!!! The salesperson will lowball you to get you to sign their contract and then out source the job to another company. When the new company arrives the price to move all that was originally agreed upon is calculated to be soooooo much more. A job that was calculated for one amount will be almost double. Beware of Joeseph!!!! Talks very rude and abrupt.Beware beware. Very deceptive!!!!!!Very displeased with this extremely deceptive practice.

They were supposed to deliver my 4 containers of storage on July 9th, but they lost most of my entire life and will not respond to my calls. Many wedding and childhood photos and grandparent heirlooms among the missing (clothes, furniture, tv, furs, bedding, most kitchen supplies etc). I just want my life back. Mayflower headquarters in Missouri does not have the authority to enforce an external sweep of their records and containers because Colonial, although affiliated, is privately owned.

Colonial movers were absolutely fantastic. They were kind and efficient and took care of my stuff like it was their own. The movers were so professional and beyond helpful.

9 MONTHS AGOTheir team came to pick up my things. They wrapped things meticulously and numbered every piece - stored it perfectly while I relocated to Charleston SC - held it longer during COVID. Handle my things with the utmost care. All items were crated.Then - it arrives in Charleston at another Mayflower called Nilson. The movers here dropped the antique armoire right off the back of the truck lift and it crashed to the ground.The only thing that saved the piece was that the Colonial Moving team had stuffed the armoire and took time to place cardboard supports on every shelf. Had they not it would be a goner.Charleston location stole over $7K in boxes, broke other furniture pieces and has put me through high drama with an unstable man who I knows my address and now I live in fear of him.Your life is disrupted terribly when you have a bad mover if youve things you care about and have worked hard for and are sentimental. Colonial has a level of care and integrity like none other. Feel lucky you found them. I do.Ive moved across the nation over 30x for my career.I wish you luck.

We used Colonial twice in 2017 and this year one of our children purchased a new home, so this is our third time using Colonial in the last 12 months. John and Kristin at the main office are terrific. Communication is excellent. This weeks move was managed by Rene and his team and they were on time, professional, courteous, and we could not have asked for a better experience. Shout-out to Tony on Renes team. The man knows his stuff. I gave them 5 stars only because we couldnt give 10. Well done guys.

Being a military family and moving over 7 times this is by far the worst moving company we have dealt with! We have waited over two weeks for delivery and have been told twice a delivery day and they never showed up. Our account manager never returns our calls or keeps us updated. If looking for movers keep scrolling and find another company! I can’t express the frustration with this company enough!

I booked a move on July 6th, paid a huge deposit and on the 7th cancelled. I was assured by “Holly” (emails bounce now) that I would be immediately refunded. I have made numerous calls and was told the refund is in process and would take 7-10 business days. Now when I call I get put on terminal hold after being told again that my refund is in the works. Now they don’t even answer. All this to keep my $850 bucks? During COVID? It’s reprehensible. Tomorrow I will spend another few hours and the day after and the day after that. They took my money in a nanosecond but WILL NOT RETURN IT. If I could give zero stars I would. Today I left a message after being on hold with a Sarah Drummond in accounting after being told I cancelled on the 13th. I have email evidence that I cancelled on the 7th.

This moving company is amazing. I dont know where to start on how great they were. They moved me from my house in Bergen County to my house in PA. They were polite, professional and very experienced. This was in June of 2018.They also moved my daughter last weekend from her apartment in Closter to her new apartment in Hawthorne. They were able to come to her rescue. I just cant say enough on how great they were. Her roommate had hired a different company and long story short, left them without moving them. They needed to move out ASAP and Colonial was able to move them out the next day in less than 24 hour notice. Colonial Moving and Storage you rock!

This is the 2nd time Ive used Colonial Moving & Storage, the first time being 7 years ago & they were so great then, that I didnt call anyone else for my recent move. Moving is stressful, & the day I moved we had torrential rain at times, but my furniture arrived in perfect condition, not one drop of water on anything. Not only was everything well protected, but they completely covered the floors to keep them dry too. I cannot recommend them enough!

I will be using this company for all my future moves. I was not only pleased with the movers performance but impressed by how much they went ABOVE and BEYOND, exceeding my expectations. SCAM ALERT! Do not use A Colonial Movers and Storage out of NJ. I will write a detailed review shortly but Im so angry from what they just pulled on us that I wanted to spread the word as quickly as possible.

John & his team are always incredibly accommodating. I work at a nearby assisted living and am constantly calling them with last-minute moves for our residents, and they bend over backwards for our senior citizens! I cannot thank them enough for the job that they do. I would highly recommend to anyone!!

I would give this company a zero if I could. They sent 1 person to pack up a 3 story family home. They were WEEKS late delivering the furniture. All this while the furnitures owner, a pregnant woman, meanwhile had nothing to sit on or sleep on but sleeping bags.

John Reynolds (the owner) is a great guy. The dubious thing is his crews. A lot of ex-convicts looking for a second chance but not doing their best to earn it.

Very good movers, explained the whole process moving from Jersey to Florida. Whole move was completed satisfactory and on time.

Colonial decided to use a 3rd party vendor to move my friends, a family of 5, from their 4 bedroom house in NY to GA. Supposed to be here Saturday then moved it out to Tuesday. The kids were supposed to start school on Monday, so there that went. Movers failed to show up at all on Tuesday, with no warning. Family left for GA because HAD TO. A whole slew of their friends rotating shifts to manage on their behalf. Its now Friday morning and they are still not done. 90% of the pack job was done in advance, so they only had to wrap furniture, mirrors, pictures. They say they will show up at 7am, but have yet to ever arrive before noon. They promised to complete last night no matter what, and instead took off at 5 and never came back. We have no idea if they will even show up today. Avoid Colonial like the plague.

I used Colonial after renting a 26 foot Uhaul to move to Florida. The guys did an amazing job. I was worried that all of my stuff wouldnt fit into this truck but Colonial did a professional job packing the truck up neatly so that everything fit. I would highly recommend Colonial Moving to anyone looking for a moving company.

Not sure if this is the Colonial that works long island..but IF IT is,its the most Unprofessional company Ive ever heard of.Promises never met.7am to 8am start they say and show up Late By 3 hours.. even the Day they were supposed to start they never showed.Show up with less manpower than agreed upon and a truck thats to small..Whatta bunch of Imbeciles and STAY far away from them in NY anyway.

Dont waste your time with these guys. I scheduled a visit to get a quote from Colonial and later confirmed the time.During the scheduled time, nobody showed up. Quite frustrating since I had to take off from work. I called Colonial and they blamed the mistake on Mayflower, which is their national partner. Considering that Colonial and Mayflower would be coordinating a cross-country move of my stuff, that didnt inspire much confidence.The Colonial rep insisted it wasnt their fault and said they would have another rep call me back immediately (the reps words, not mine) to sort everything out. Four days later, and still no phone call.Based on that limited interaction, I would not trust these guys with my stuff.

Cant say enough great things about the crew both at the office and the guys who came over to help us move our elderly relative into her new home. Careful, thoughtful and helpful from the first call for an estimate to the final box placed into the new home.

Id rate zero if possible. The guys we hired to load our trucks fought with us the whole time, walked on our property as they were loading it in the trucks, and threatened to walk off the job multiple times. 10/10 will not hire ever again to get the rest for the second trip and will never recommend to anybody. Worst professional moving company ever.

Thus far, we have had an excellent experience with Colonial Mayflower Moving & Storage. Throughout the initial process, I have worked with Tuan Vo, whom has been unbelievably helpful. My husbands company gave us a specific budget to work with, and with our saving for my attending law school in the fall, we desperately wanted to stay within it. Tuan was able to work with us, and get us exactly to where we needed. Moving across country is stressful; and working with Tuan made the initial steps as smooth as possible.

They want to buy my silence with $100! They were so disorganized, they lied about times, they had no customer service in the main office for me when their driver was 6 hours late. It was a $4,000 move and they think the anxiety they caused my 84 year old mother is worth $100! Find another mover!
