Had a horrible experience at the pep boys branch of Hempstead. The story is too long to get into but one of the bright spots of this horrid experience was speaking to Nicole of corporate. Nicole is so understanding and compassionate she’s a real people person and genuinely cares about and the customers of pep boys. Nicole was able to walk me through a tough situation and ultimately got fair results that I was dire need of. Nicole is a amazing leader and even more of a amazing person

The shop guys were great with a 4-tire replacement (for the price of 3 ;-)) and wheel alignment. Friendly and informative.And, two days later, I discover that the fellow who mounted my new tires also reattached a portion of my cars front apron that had come loose from hitting a pothole, something Id tried and failed to do myself (well, I dont have a lift!) Thanks, dude!!

The large fellow behind the parts counter refuses to do anything related to working there and unfortunately no one else knows how to work the parts counter. Rude and unprofessional staff.One cashier was willing to help but did not know about the loaner tools or what is available. The parts counter person just shrugged their shoulders and refused to acknowledge customers.

Book appointment online for new tires and a wheel alignment. Reserved, they said everything was ready. I canceled my afternoon appointments and came over on my lunch break, just to be told Sorry the tires you reserved we dont actually have. Then the guy tries to up sell me tires for double the price of what I was initially going to be paying of course, but when I asked for something in a similar price range and rating, he said he can get me something by the next day. Mind you as I said, I dont live here, Im on my lunch break WHAT good does a next day order do me??!!! F this place...2nd and LAST time here!!

Left car all day12-5:30, called to check up on its status & was only told they’d call when it was done. Decided to go over anyway, the manager (as if it was a joke) said oh yeah our machine died as soon as we hooked up to your car so we didn’t do anything. They said they had call - I had no missed calls, they said they closed at 7 & it was 6, thankfully I showed up at 5:30. TERRIBLE.

Purchased a front bulb for my headlight. Installed it fine needed help securing bulb socket back in place. Dont bother coming here if you need any help. Theyd let you drop dead on your knees here and offer to help you only if you pay the fee. Swore to them Id never return realistically only come here if you need a part for an emergency.

Terrible customer service !!!!Employee at the service area is very condescending and has a major attitude problem !!!I could not get basic information from the representative at the service desk, simply because he would not/ and did not want to look on the computer system to tell me what the brand names were of the 4 rotors and 4 brake pads I was purchasing and having installed. I asked for this info. Because the invoice/ quote just shows codes and says rotors and brakes it gives no other description. I ask because I know I have the right to know whether I am being given generic mediocre parts VS. Premium parts.Clearly hates his job, and most likely should not be working behind the service desk dealing with people who pay for his salary.Terrible communication skills, very rude, and complacent. I was there 2 days in a row, 1st day 3 1/2 hours for ordering parts needed and the 2nd day to have total brakes replacement front and back that took another 4 hours.All I wanted was to be informed of, was what brands was I purchasing, and that was too much to ask for !!!This is the primary issue, however having to deal with that representative because he was the only person finalizing payment at the service desk was an extremely unpleasant experience.

I had a 2:00 pm appointment for an oil change arrived on time and waited. Unfortunately they had some issues that day and the service took much longer than expected. So why a 5 star review? Because the manager handled the situation correctly. He communicated with me and at the end heavily discounted my service because of my inconvenience. The manager took a bad situation and did what he could to make it better.

I had a random pipe enter my tire and knew to go to the closest Pep Boys. D and Matt held it down for me. Replaced 2 tires for a good price and in no time. I appreciated them so deeply for their service but always for assisting me in my moment of need. I’d recommend them for anyone.

Great customer service. Friendly staff. Very clean atmosphere. Sanitizer is everywhere for you to use. The manager was even extra considerate of my 1 year old son and brought out sanitizing wipes. The waiting area is pretty spacious and service overall is great. I pass a few locations to go to this one everytime. Went to change my tires and ended up getting an inspection and breaks too. The location is convenient too. Theyre in a shopping mall

Extremely accommodating. Purchase two new Kelly tires at a very reasonable price. The store fit me into their busy schedule on a Saturday. Needed to also replace the automatic tire pressure system gauge. A couple of days later, the gauge malfunctioned and this store replaced and installed a new gauge without questions. They stand behind their work. Good people.

5 stars for the store it self...it has everything u need for your car. And the reward program is great i love receiving gift cards to use. But this 2 stars is for the service shop, today i had a bad experience with them i purchased a Bosch battery and wanted it installed...waited an hour and a half for this to get done. Just to open my hood and notice that they put a cheaper brand battery and not the one i had payed for. Not very thrust worthy if u ask me.

I waited 3 hours, helpful staff inside but mechanics not qualified, they were charging me $1200 for an AC compressor because supposedly it wasnt working, of course I didnt pay but yes I went for a second opinion, well, the compressor was fine, it only something to be charged, a lil part and some gas, my total at the other mechanic was $150, yes $1050 less and my AC its working perfectly

Admittedly, I dont have too much experience with auto service but as far as customer service goes I am grateful to have dealt with Frank at this location. He was knowledgeable and refreshingly honest. I paid half of what I was originally quoted for the work, and can sincerely say he went above and beyond to represent Pep Boys well. They try to rip you off no matter how small the problem is! If I could give them a zero star I would! I just went in for a simple light bulb replacement for my blown out front light. The manager decided that I needed to also replace the entire socket and high beam light as well! What a crook?! I left immediately. My bulb is now being replaced, without the drama and bull, by a very lovely young man from a new place that I came across. No hassle!

My experience with this store is beyond unsatisfactory. To begin, I was told my car would be ready within 24 hours. That was far from the truth, as they knew ahead of time they had to order parts as it is listed in the system as a part they do not keep in stock. Moving on, they charge $19.99 for an evaluation, that we were late told is not credited to your overall service fee,unlike most other mechanics. We found this out only after a series of questions...ask questions. We were also dealing with a manager the entire time...so bad customer starts at the top.They attempted to call the house, where no one picked up the phone, and preceded to authorize the work without confirmation from us. Strike two.One of the additions from the mechanic that we never requested was an oil change. After confirm with another mechanic we called back and ask them not to proceed with the work.Going to pick up the car, they had already changed the oil and added it to the list of charges. After venting to the manager that this was not authorized and asking why would they move forward, he provide an unsatisfactory explanation of course.Upon paying for the evaluation and oil change, I go to my car, to drive off. The oil sticker was not changed. Strike 3. I go back to the manager to ask if they could ensure me the oil was changed and change the sticker. Surprise surprise, the oil change was not complete! It took 30 minutes for a refund and I left with absolutely nothing to show. Terrible customer experience and service.

The personal is very nice but the day I came in to have my tired installed and aligned, they only had one mechanic. After nearly two hours of waiting with no wifi, they had not touched my car. I finally had my wife pick up. It was completed in about 4 hours. Be sure to drop it off if you can. Otherwise the work done was fine.

Im a pretty easy going guy, and I respect an honest company. However I have to say that this was my first and quite possibly my last experience with Pep Boys. I brought my minivan to get looked at because it was overheating and losing engine coolant. I knew that it had an issue with the cooling fan (most likely a relay, which is $58) however as I was out of town I had no way of fixing it myself so I took it for them to look at, expecting theyd diagnose the relay problem and send me on my way. They called me back and told me I needed a new radiator. I told them no thanks. Picked up my minivan and drove it away only for stream to start pouring out my car. They left the radiator cap off my vehicle! Who does this? Dont they have a checklist or something to make sure simple mistakes dont happen? Anyway I purchased a relay for the cooling fan at a local autozone and found a guy that swapped it out for me for $70. From $968 to $120 and my radiator is fine by the way. No thanks Pep Boys. Try some other fool.

Went there at 9am on a Monday morning without an appointment. There were 3 cars ahead of me (maybe being worked on already). I was out of there in about one hour with a synthetic oil change at a much better price than at the dealership. Just a hint for all customers: If your service package states that it comes with a free tire rotation, remember that you typically have to ask for it otherwise it will not be done (Pretty much true for all service stations). Would definitely come back here again.

I requested a synthetic oil change with tire rotation. When I picked up my car the bill shows oil change and rotation were done both with labor cost charged. But when I saw my car, all four tires were still at the same place. I went back and asked. The guy behind the counter asked the mechanic, he said no. It was because it is not time yet. I went on to say my car is almost 7,500 miles so I need a tire rotation. The counter guy told me it is not time yet and tried to tell me to leave with my car.The point is1. I requested a tire rotation.2. The bill shows it was done and labor was charged.3. Staff didnt notify me the service wasnt done.4. When I requested again they tried to turn me down and tell me to leave.Of course I insisted the rotation has to be done. I am now still waiting there. Please, not again. Dont lie to customers. I recognize all four tires like my hands and legs.

Came into change 2 tires, they told me it would be quick, 2 hours later I had 2 new tires yet my tire pressure light was still on I went back in to ask them why, they said just drive it a little it should go away. I went out to dinner that night came out to one of the new tires flat... came in again to get it checked out and they said they would get the same guy that did the job the first time on it and get it done quick... 2 hours later still waiting for 1 tire to be checked and replaced.

Do not trust these people or give them your money for services. Especially alignment. I had a brand new rack and pinion put in along with new tie rods and it turns out the mechanic who worked on it stripped the lock nut on the tie rod end. They did not even bother to tell me after having to do the alignment 3 times over again at their location, each time the car would not drive straight! I finally got tired of going back to them and took it to another shop where i got the rack installed and they immediately pointed out to me the new tie rod is officially screwed up. After having to spend another $90 for a new piece, I took it to another independent alignment shop where they got it right the very first time they did it.

Worst place ever! I wouldn’t send an enemy here! Don’t even think about going here. My fiancé was stranded by herself with a flat tire in the cold about 2 feet from the shop a few minutes before closing. Instead of helping her and doing their job they told her they couldn’t help her!!!! What kind of animals work here?! Eventually a kind stranger helped her instead of a place that is paid to do so! She would have paid you! I hope that one of your lady family members runs into the same problem and no one helps them! You should be ashamed of yourselves!

This the most unprofessional and rude staff I have ever encountered. I brought my car to put gas in for my A . C . they gave me a price I agreed to it and when the job was done they added 200 dollars to the original price without discussing with me or letting me know that the price had gone up. . what if I couldnt pay it ? on top of that they have the audacity to give you attitude . still I decided to give them another chance. brought a light for my car the guy at the desk in the mechanic department told me they were gonna install it for me . I waited after awhile he came back and told me it was too late to come back the next day . I came back the following day, he told me now he has to charge me 22 dollars. I reminded him he was supposed to install it yesterday but ran out of time and told me to come back . he proceeded to give me an attitude and told me I had to pay or he wouldnt do . it s the worst customer service ever and the experience will be nothing like what pep boys advertise. They dont service vehicles with interlock. I left my car there on sunday they said it would be repaired on monday. I called on monday to check if its done they said by tuesday. On wednesday i went to the shop its still not repaired and they left the sunroof open all night in the rain. The manager then said that pepboys want nothing to do with cars with interlock. I am very disappoint with this store. I am never going to this pepboys for service again.

KNOWLEDGEABLE,RELIABLE AND FRIENDLY STAFF.i stopped by at this location to have my suspension looked at since I was chasing this incessant noise since summer.I had 2 mechanics look at it and could not figure it out.While explaining the noise to the service manager smiley (which I think is unprofessional to have as a name when its a nickname)He suggested what parts may have to be changed without looking at the vehicle and when the mechanics looked at it it turned out to be exactly what smiley Suggested.So then with fingers crossed i told them to go ahead and change the parts.So after they were done the noise is no longer there!! i was EXTREMELY happy and they should be pleased to know id definitely be a returning customer.

Worst Customer Service. I was told that the emission test will take 45 minutes but it took more than an hour. This isnt the first time, it happened so the last time too. Moreover my bill was not sent to my email-id even after the inspection was complete. I just received an email saying that my vehicle is ready for pickup. The pep boys survey is simply a goof-up, the page does not exist. Had to call the person at pep-boys to know the order number and store number. Poor customer service and management. What is wrong with pep-boys?

I dropped off my car at 9:45 this morning I received a call from Pep Boys at 3:52 this afternoon just to tell me we can’t do any work to your car because we don’t have the parts in stock. So why did it take almost 6 hours For you to call me and tell me you can’t do nothing? I was told we only have 2 mechanics by the young lady. I still don’t see how that’s the customers problem.Sounds like the owners staffing issue.I took a Uber from Pep Boys and I’m Taking and a Uber back to Pep Boys. If i could put 0 stars, i would. Mechanics give an attitude and literally double the price on maintenance parts. I got my alternator replaced here and was charged over 700 bucks when an alternator REMANUFACTURED cost 160 and they charged 320 literally DOUBLE. 2 1/2years later alternator dies again and are charging 400 to repair.

The only pep boys I know where you leave your car for service and when you get back the parking lot at Hempstead Commons trys to tow your car. Ridiculous place, mind you I left the car with Pep Boys to fix the car... Why have a parking lot for your patrons if you are going to be threatened to have your car towed while you are waiting for the repairs to be completed. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE GO HERE

Went in for an oil change and ended up with transmission issues... Why? Because the ASE certified mechanic drained the transmission fluid by mistake and even after realizing the mistake he did the oil change but didnt add the transmission fluid that he drained... Car broke down less than a mile away... They gave me a coupon for a free oil change that I will NEVER use... I wouldnt even let them change a wiper blade now....

I brought my 2011 SAAb 9-5 to this location on 10/22 to get a new battery put in and to get an oil change. After the vehicle was picked up my boyfriend opened the hood to look at the batter and noticed one of the mechanics left a large screw driver under my hood. I took it back to them.As I drive home, I pull for my iPhone charger to plug into my phone and find that my cord had been extremely damaged or replaced. And I say replaced because my cord was in perfect condition but the one that was in my car had cuts and strips in it not to mention the oil that was also on it. It was basically dirty and my cord is always plugged in but when I pulled my arm rest up this cord was not plugged into the car. Im so furious that they would damage my cord and or replace it.However, I called and one of the guys told me to call back to speak with the service manager. I spoke to Peter the manager and after speaking with him he advised me to come back to the store where he would provide me with another iPhone charger for my car to replace the damaged one.

This is the most horrible place to bring your car. They are a bunch of liars, poor customers service. I brought my car for inspection, the check engine light was on before the inspection they put it through anyway and call me to say I fail inspection $37. I told them that it was obvious that the light was on why not alert the customer before the inspection. The answer was $37 fail or pass. This is not my first bad experience with them. Did a oil change on my car on a Sunday in the past, was here waiting 1.5 hours before they took my car in.
