Today August 23rd 2021 my car was an Crank no Start. Towed my vehicle to Auto Check on 13424 Briar Forest to receive diagnostics. Waiting patiently to results. Basically the guy behind the desk told me my vehicle was totaled. He literally over 5 or 6 major problems including throwing in “someone might have put water in your gas tank” told me it’s nothing they can do to get vehicle started. After 5 minutes I walked inside garage to my car . Literally started to put in Neutral to push out garage. Thought to myself, try to crank . I put my key in ignition it started right up! Drove to the front guy behind desk literally yelling . You better hurry before it heats up . My car has been working fine thank God . I just feel like the process was very rushed . Didn’t take time to really tend to the work at hand .

My 81 year old mother was driving when suddenly she heard a loud consistent noise from the engine area. She pulled to the nearest shop, auto check. It was her first time at this shop. She was expecting a hefty bill but after an hour they told her the noise was some sort of a heat protective metal shield which had come loose which caused the noise. They didnt chare her even a penny. If my mother had gone somewhere else they probably would have taken advantage of an old lady and paid a hefty bill and she would have paid the repair cost too since she loves her car because of my deceased father. After she explained to me her story I went to auto check in person and thanked Daniel the manager and thanked the mechanic who fixed her car, Andres. I travel a lot and its so awesome to know when Im not in town this shop will take good care of my mother. Daniel also told me that theyve been here and owned by two brothers since 1998, great. Im so happy my mother found this shop because of their honesty, their professionalism, close to my house and mothers house, and also because after talking to Andres whos a European specialist, I felt really good and impressed enough to take my S550 and my mothers Cadillac for service to him from now onThank you so much again Daniel and Andres from me and specially from my mother. You made us loyal customers with your honesty!

My husband has been going here to service ALL of our vehicles for over 15yrs, & they get the job done. Daniel, the manager, is on his stuff! I will have to say that when hes there - things run a lot better (so my husband says), but they do great work regardless. As far as pricing is concerned, they dont cheat you. My husband always explores his options (buying parts, labor costs, etc), and theyre always right on par or better. We have paid in installments before by putting a down payment upfront, & then they charge us each week until paid off. You cant drag it out for about a couple of months (no interest), but when youre vehicle work costs you $700/1k plus - it helps to break it up & pay it off in a month. Highly recommend them!

I go to this place for everything. It is convenient, everyone there is nice and polite (and have a sense of humor, which is great when your drivers side door is broken.) If something is wrong, they take the time to explain what exactly is wrong, what the options are and if it can wait or not. I think their prices are fair and Ive never had trouble getting my car back quickly and with no issues.

Be sure to get a second opinion. I had an oil change and battery seal done awhile ago. They said I needed a new oil pan because a thread was stripped. To the sum to $350. I took that in today to the dealer for a second opinion and they said all that was needed was a washer. That and, the battery wasnt sealed at all. So at least this place only conned an extra $15 out of me. NICE TRY! Glad I got that second opinion. Wow.

Customer Service has been great- however I just got my car back two days ago and it’s experiencing some other issues. It sucks to spend 1k on repairs then get your car towed back to the auto shop for more repairs.Edit:9/11/2020 Had an alternator issue- I used the over night key drop which was really nice- then they fixed my car. Dropped some more $. They sent their shuttle (a cute PT cruiser) to pick me up from my home so I can pick up my car. Had my car back within a day. So far so good.Edit 9/26/20They said they fixed all the leaks (on the repair that costed 1k) yet my car is still leaking for some reason . Luckily they gave a warranty on the work they do, so I’ll be bringing it in again. So far customer service has been pretty good John and Daniel who typically man the front desk, are courteous. What I like the most about this shop is the timely return of my vehicle.

Took my car to Drivers Auto down the street..(DONT EVER TRUST THEM THEY ARE SCAMMING PEOPLE AND TAKING MONEY WHILE DOING MINIMAL WORK!) Take your car to Auto Check!!! They do the right job the right way the first time! You will not regret it! They treat your car like its their own and you can really see the quality and care that goes into every job they take on. Trust Auto Check! They will have you driving away in no time!!!

Theyre great! Their European master mechanic always maintains my BMW and my husbands VW the right way whether its minor or major. The timing and pricing compared to the dealership is way better. If anyone is looking for a great shop with a great euro mechanic to work on your euro car then just give them a try and youll fall in love with the service, timing, and pricing.

We always have our vehicles machinery/repair work done in Briar Forest location, although we are living near Katy area now. Trustworthy service and reasonable price. There is once alignment issue not done well at the first time for my Jeep. But once I told them, and they got it done right second time. I got my Jeep all the different types fluid changed and break rotors replaced recently at round 70k miles. It just runs great, no resistance when accelerating any more.

This is the place where you will get a honest service and you can trust the staff here. Im not at all expert in Automobils and have no idea about vehicle care stuff. I went in here to check if I need a oil change or any other service before I go out on vacation. Staff was so genuine that they checked and said nothing is required at least for next 2000 miles. Car was all set to go on vacation. Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for any service for your vehicles.

Got a used car and really needed it fixed,I had no other options. Stop by this place and they took care of every problem I had with my Nissan Altima. Got me running in no time and very reasonable. I highly recommend!

Dishonest, not friendly and WAYYYY overpriced. Went to get an alignment and my car started shaking the next week. Go in for them to take a look at it and the guy quoted me 1K for repair. Went to a place next door and told me it was another issue and quoted me $300 and car stopped shaking. I do not recommend this place to anyone. They take advantage of ppl

I worked in auto service for a number of years earlier in life, and this franchise on Briar Forest is the finest customer based Facility I have ever been to. They offer a wide variety of services, stand behind their work, their prices are reasonable, and their turnaround is pretty quick. I have never heard, nor said, anything at all negative about this AutoCheck, and Ive told many person to take the car there for service. Everybody has thanked me.

I went here for a state inspection. My mechanic is closer to my work but came here out of convenience that day. I have a 20 year old vehicle. I was told that it failed inspection due to a leak in the power steering line. When asked to show me, he showed me the high pressure line with some oil on it and caked in debris. It looked pretty dry. There was no drip or under the vehicle leak spots. The fluid level was normal and the steering operation was normal. I explained that perhaps he was picky. I also said that I doubt his summation. I am no pro mechanic but I do a lot of things myself. He stated that I was arguing with the State of Texas.. I then said no just the opinion of a mechanic in the shop. I then told him I would like my keys the inspection is over and do no more. He then delayed and went on a show to to print out a regulation. I do not doubt that a leak is bad but a leak is a leak. It is not oily residue on a line with no fluid loss or wet conditions. I paid and then stated that that is the last donation this shop will get from me. I hope they use it for training. I went immediately to my shop and they passed it. My shop said that this shop did not handle it well and misstated what the inspection course trains the inspectors on. It seemed that this shop is fancy and deals with new vehicles only. I guess I will now go out and polish my engine. Nope. It is a work truck that I hate it when a shovel slips out my hands and dings it but it survives, works hard getting me across the state, and is not on anyones theft radar. It is a shame that I have one less shop option to keep it running due to a dirty hose line. On to more travels on clean streets (chuckle) or dirt roads.

Definitely coming back here. Took my car to a shop down the street and was quoted $3300 dollars so I took it for a second opinion talked to a guy named Daniel and he was very helpful. They check my car out and I left out of there only spending $450 and my car is running fine they have definitely gained a loyal customer.

Scam trying to take advantage of people who dont work on vehicles. Girlfriend took her car there for simple inspection. Told her she needed a bunch of BS work done. Before even taking her car there I already hooked it up to my scanner and fully inspected the vehicle myself.

I did inspection here, which was quick and no complaints. But I had another issue with my car, which had broken fender and liner. To replace it, they gave me an estimate of 130$ which was expensive. I dont have any issues with their quality of work, but I find they do not fit into my budget

I started going to Auto Check at Briar Forest and Eldridge when I lived nearby in 2013. After moving downtown in 2016 I still take my car -- and my wifes car -- to them for everything. An honest, compentent mechanic is worth their weight in gold, and they qualify for that. First rate service and repairs. I have no reservation giving them a 100% rating.

BEWARE!!! A simple coolant leak turned into a complete replacement of our engine. After 8 times of back and fourth, in and out of this shop, we finally decide to bring our car to Dodge, and the dealership refused to work behind this company. Dodge stated to us that it would be a liability because the previous work was poorly done. We then had no choice but to return the car back to Auto check. After threatening the company with a law suit they replaced the engine, but didnt even change the oil!!! We lost approximately $3800, plus numerous uber rides at over $300. We are currently still having major issues with the car, because after the engine was replaced the mechanic created other issues in the process. The car now pulls to the right, the power steering is ruff, and the engine idle is making a loud noise. Auto check refuses to take responsibility for that, and is blaming it on the age of the car, even though these werent issues prior to replacing the engine. They are also now refusing to further work on the car. This forces us to take the loss and purchase a new vehicle. The most disappointing thing about this whole situation is that the owner not once was willing to sit down and discuss the issues.

This is the best shop to go I refer all my friends and family to come in. They are very respectful and never once pointed out a problem on my car that I didnt need. Plus best prices on new parts. Anyone reading this go check it out

Daniel was really nice to help me purchase my own part and confirm I was getting the right one. Many places wont fix your car if you bring your own part. He only charged me for the paint and installation.

Theses guys are fantastic. I came in and excited to see how large the waiting room area is compared to other shops Ive visited in the past. They are very friendly and knowledgeable about Euro and Domestic cars.

My car battery died while I was across the street in the shopping center. Someone came out and helped me jumpstart my car within a couple minutes of calling for help. Now that is what you call excellent customer service. Came back to Auto Check and had my battery replaced, an employee even offered to drive me somewhere nearby while I waited. I had an overall pleasant experience.

Going here for a pre-purchase inspection saved me THOUSANDS!!! The vehicle I was strongly considering purchasing had flood damage and long list of other problems. Daniel and Sam were both very kind and professional. I highly recommend bringing your car to Auto Check for a pre-purchase inspection. Its affordable and can save you hundreds to thousands of dollars.

I went in for a second opinion because my cars a/c was not working. They charged me $40 for a diagnostic and came back with a hose which was bad.I walked away paying about $400 with the a/c fixed which was much better than the $1800 estimate i got from the other place.They made me so so happy.

I have had my car serviced here for years and I have yet to be disappointed. I make it a point to bring my car to this location although I no longer live in the area. They provide quality work.

My son 20 yo went there to figure out the cause of issues. They scanned errors codes and told my son he needed $1200 repair.I asked him to hold on with any work and double check it again with my friend. When they opened the hood they found a hose detached from mass airflow sensor. My son put it back and the issue was resolved.These guys charged him $70 for just reading the error codes.

I got a flat tire due to a nail, they plugged it up in just a few minutes and didnt even charge me anything for it. it was A courtesy service. Customer service was also wonderful

Dont go here. Every time my husband and I go in there on separate occasions customers are being told a list of things wrong with their vehicle. I was told my axles were loose and seals were leaking so i couldnt get my tires rotated. False. My husbands a mechanic & is quite unhappy at this shop for trying to take advantage of me like that. We took it to a different mechanic (close friend as well) propped the truck up at his shop and looked at everything stated in the bid. It was a joke at how fine everything was. A few rusty bolts that might break with labor but that doesnt mean replace everything. Called them and asked for Daniel to speak to him about this but he wasnt there. I dont have any more time for this nonsense. Unhappy, no longer a customer, & will make sure no friends and family are either.

I took in my Range Rover to have them check for a noise which had been there for 2 months when i would drive and was looked at by 2 other shops before which they could not distinguish where the noise was coming from. That same afternoon i received a call from Daniel, GM, who told me that the noise was coming from some sort of control arm on the vehicle, and his European Tech was sure about this finding. I was hesitant at first to authorize the work since the two previous shops could not find the problem, but Daniel reassured me that the noise would be gone after replacement of the part so i authorized the work. After i picked it up and drove my vehicle, i was singing with joy. The noise was gone. These guys are awesome. They are next to my house, the service is great, and their European Tech is very knowledgeable.

Daniel is the manager and highly recommend to give him a try if you havent.He always tells us what our cars need,nothing more or less.The crew is great as well.Also,If you have a european car with sophisticated problems,ask for the master mechanic,Andres.HE ALWAYS CORRECTS THE PROBLEM WITH MY MERCEDES.

This shop is a professional SCAM SHOP!!!! They will tell you that you need things fixed that you dont need fixed, I was told I needed a new power steering unit. They quoted me $575.00 !! I went down the street to Midas and the guy showed me a leaking hose. The cost for part and labor was only 165.00 !!! My car now drives fine -no problems at all. DONT TRUST THESE GUYS, THEY THINK THAT BECAUSE YOU LIVE NEAR THE ENERGY CORRIDER THAT YOU HAVE MONEY TO GIVE AWAY !!!!

We have been using Autocheck exclusively for the last 10 years since we moved to this neighborhood, and prior to that used their sister shop on Kirkwood. We have always had good experiences and trust their staff, who have been in place for a very long time. They always make things very convenient for us, in terms of transportation, and once rescued me from a parking lot where I was stuck with a dead battery. Their prices and services are effective and reasonable.

I had the worst experience ever here. They will take advantage of anything to sell auto parts, and even to buy old cars at cheaper rates, after diagnosing that the cars are irreparable, or would cost a lot to get repaired. Drivers Auto across the street is much better. Go here, only to be scammed!

Very honest place. Been taking all 4 of my families cars here for the past 6 years and never once felt I was being decieved or upsold. One time my car broke down on 1-10 and Frank sent an employee over to jump it: free of charge. Always been a skeptic of auto repair shops so it is good knowing I have a place to rely on.

I don’t recommend this place, pricing is way too high for a repair your able to repair way cheaper at another shop.

I almost died because of the scam they pulled.Its taken a long time for me to write this, but Im still dealing with repairs to fix the damage that they did, and its preventing me from going to work, so Im finally writing a review about what they did.It started in summer of 2015. My AC stopped working, and I went here because my house is in Lakes of Parkway. They fixed it. It was over a thousand dollars.The problem is that I drive to Houston from out of town, and I left immediately after picking up my car. I had no time to fully examine what they did.For a year, I dealt with an AC that wouldnt work if I was parked. It constantly clicked on and off. It never got cold enough. Finally, it broke completely... when I was back in Houston this summer.I brought it back to the place. They said they would fix it in a day. It took three days. By the time it was fixed, I had to leave immediately to drive to Louisiana. I literally picked up my car and started my drive on the same day.Within two hours of my drive, the AC stopped working. This was in August. It was a sunny day. It was about 95 degrees. I have a black car with a black interior. Nevertheless, I kept driving. At a certain point, I was about to pass out from how hot it was. I decided to stop and get water at a gas station.I tried to pull off on an exit. My steering failed. My brakes failed. Miraculously, though, I managed to not wreck my car by somehow getting it into a BK parking lot and using the structure at the end of a parking space to stop my car. (I dont know what those things are called.)I was stranded in Lafayette by myself and had to get a hotel. Keep in mind that I am a twenty-one year old girl.I then found a mechanic there. Turns out that this place had destroyed my car so badly that I had to get MULTIPLE PARTS of my engine replaced. I almost died because they didnt realize that I wouldnt even be in Houston to be scammed by them again.Id say the bright side is that they actually paid for all of the work that I had to get done on my car because of what they did.... probably to avoid a lawsuit.Seriously, though. They literally had no issue putting my life in danger to make more money. Please do not go here. My car still has issues related to this situation. My car is once again in the shop.Go literally anywhere else. You could be saving your life.If even one person reads this and avoids coming here, Ill feel better. Im sorry it took so long for me to write this.

DO NOT COME HERE!!! They fix your car by replacing it with old parts so that youll have to come back within a week to get it fixed again, where they tell you about a different problem and proceed to ask for hundreds to fix your car. They name all these complicated car parts because they know youre depending on them, and it starts to seem like everything is wrong with the car. Theyll ruin the car so bad, youll have to end up buying a new one because youre scared to blow up in it. Save yourself money in the long run and just go to your dealership.
