Had a terrible experience trying to get a hitch installed. (Sept 30)I reserved one online and got a confirmation. When I got there they had no reservation.., they then found the reservation and said they did not have a hitch guy and I would have to reschedule. I rescheduled with them, then when that reservation rolled around I left my vehicle there, only to get a call a couple hours later that they did not have a hitch in stock. I picked up my vehicle, no hitch, and had to write and call for my money back. They are all very polite and nice here. Not sure how this location is for rentals, but I would not go there for a hitch.
I have been buying boxes and renting here for a while now. The staff is always friendly and eager to assist me. I think they recently changed management, and you can see the difference. They have supplies, trucks of all sizes, and a smile each time. Highly recommend :)
Nigel Hilliard and Branden Alberto provided exceptional service when we came to pick up our rental. When our trailer lights did not work, Nigel helped us try multiple cables and even another trailer entirely! Unfortunately, we were not able to fix our trailer light issue, but Nigel was also very quick to help us cancel. Even after we cancelled, Branden was still eager to help us test our cables and everything! All in all, we will definitely be using Uhaul again in the future!
Went in for propane refill. Stood in line for 15 minutes while 2 other employees joked and did nothing. Finally said hey I just need propane. 2 joking guys put their hands up like not our job!. The lady behind then counter literally wailed in complaint and said she couldnt wait to leave. Sorry for inconveniecing you all so much with my business, guess Ill just go somewhere else.
It took 45 minutes to pick up a Uhaul truck at this location. And I was the only one there! Staff seemed incompetent, more interested in making jokes with each other than helping customers. Highly recommend you go elsewhere for Uhaul.

Dont go here for propane. Everytime I have to wait at least a half hour and this time they told me there wont be anyone certified to do propane in for at least a week. Go to blue flame on Fairbanks in and out in 5 min
I’m not sure what is going on but seven people have been in line and no one is being processed since I arrived 15 minutes ago. 🤨 The one guy writing contracts had to leave the counter several times since I arrived so needless to say it is frustrating
Terrible customer service. This place never answers the phone. I was scheduled to have access to my U-Box on a certain date, movers were there to help and was told the box was not at the center. This is after multiple trips going up there, because they never answered the phone. I waited in line for an hour on my last trip, and Nigel told me, again, it was not there. Nigel told me he would call me once it arrives. Nigel called me once it arrived, and gave me his email and phone number and told me when Im ready to access it to contact him. I did just that. I called and texted him and again no response back. I went to U-haul with the movers again and retrieved all of my items. I checked out and was told my account will be closed. Two weeks later, I see that Im charged for a rental for May 20 - June 20th. I dont have access to this box because I checked-out. I called this location serval times, and again no answer. Finally, after waiting for over 45 minutes with U-Haul, I was told an email will be sent to this location and someone will reach out to me. Its been 3 days and no one has reached out to me and the charge is still on my credit card. I will NEVER use U-Haul again for any type of service. They made my move an absolute nightmare.
Weekend staff was very helpful, especially Paul. They were able to answer questions and get us our unit in timely fashion.
The gentleman, Nigel, does great explaining how everything will happen and keeps a relaxed atmosphere. The place is good and easy to find too.

Victor was an absolute savior for me Friday! I got there to pick up a trailer and low and behold, he hooked up the trailer and I had no lights. He changed cables, tested lines, checked my fuse box, tried a different trailer, and just when I had given up hope and was on the phone cancelling my move for the day, he crawled underneath my truck and found that the connection on my truck was unplugged, plugged it in, and vahlah, back in business! I had chills I was so thrilled. Definitely A+ customer service!

I ordered some moving boxes and supplies online, and I was a little put off that I had to gather my own items myself when I went to pick them up from the store. Then the guy behind the counter was rude and made snarky comments to me when I asked him to help me put my moving boxes in my car. I told him I’ll just carry the rest of it to my car because he made me so uncomfortable, and then he fake-gasps and says in a sarcastic tone “Oh man really?! You sure? I don’t want you to hurt yourself now!” To be fair, I’m sure he was just joking (to some degree), but as a woman, it came off offensive and rude. I really appreciated his help. I just could have done without the misogynistic sarcasm..

When I went to rent a truck there years ago. The shady agent pocketed my cash. And corporate had me as not paying. The good thing is that the manager did right by the issue and checked the cameras and there she saw the agent not placing the money in the register. Instead he placed it in his pocket. She apologized and cleared up the issue with corporate.Sadly, I see they still have a lot of issues there, years later. I only saw the reviews because I need a rental truck and was leery of going there again. So I checked the reviews and unfortunately things are still not doing well there. I’ll just go elsewhere. Not taking any chances.

Moving my Mom This location went ABOVE and BEYOND while assisting me and was able to help me in a time limited situation. Like all places, there are details and fine print. Hanna never failed to inform me of all my options and I had no problems with my reservations. I asked questions and she answered. When I paid the bill, there were no hidden costs or fees. I got what I paid for. I was very happy with their service, and will definitely use them again. Hanna! Your the best! ...

I enjoyed my experience the three ladies at the front were very welcoming and nice I met these three ladies yesterday when I needed a moving truck for a few hours and they were funny and had a good energy about them lol and they made the experience getting a truck very smooth and nice I know they get busy so maybe that’s why it took a little bit for them to do my info but that’s understandable thanks ladies for making my experience great
Do Not use this location! I rented a 26’ truck and drove the truck 11 miles total distance. I refueled the truck with 3.5 gallons of gas and returned it. I was sent the bill that evening with a $49 fuel charge. I called to ask what this was about and was told it took 6 gallons of gas to get back to where it left off. Plus a $30 refueling fee. It’s not even possible to drive 11 miles and use 9 gallons of fuel. It was returned with the same amount of gas. The manager who claimed to also be the owner said she didn’t care, I signed a contract and this is the charge and that was it. Nothing I could do. They are falsely charging people for extra fuel to make more money! Do not use this location, they are crooks!

Chair If youre planning to get a hitch for your car this is the wrong place to go. They gave me the run-around for 4 days and still did not figure out when to install my hitch and wiring nor to figure out if its in stock. I did the scheduling online weeks prior from my installation to see if it was faster, I was wrong. Missed 3 days of work going back-and-forth with this location. On the second day I read all there reviews and its all true. This has been the worst experience Ive had with U-Haul. Very unprofessional and an unorganized. I suggest that yall should read all the reviews first. This location does not even deserve one star. U-Haul Main Headquarters should be looking into this place. It seems that their employees dont want to work and simply dont care about their customers.
Very terrible experience. I made a reservation days in advance for a specific trailer and pick-up time, and yet this location did not have that trailer at all when I attempted to pick it up. They gave me the run around for over an hour trying to find an alternative location with the same trailer. In the end, they directed me to a location that was an hour out of my way, when in fact I was able to find a station within 10 minutes of the address I provided to them by calling other stations myself. They delayed my trip by over 2 hours...
Absolutely one of the worst experiences Ive ever had with a business. I confirmed the rental just hours before picking up the truck only to get there that afternoon and Im told I need to go to a different location, 20 minutes further away from where I need to be. The other location wont answer the phone to confirm that they have the truck I need, so this location agrees to a 20 FOOT TRUCK when all I need is a 10 foot. They had other 10 foots, but they are for around town... WHAT? The whole logistical solution I had for my event was shot down as now the rental was a one-way (they changed it) and I cant bring it back to the location convenient to my office. They sent me an address 45 miles from my office, over 10 miles further away from my house... this really really sucked...Truck had only 18k miles on it, but the steering was hosed.

Jonas is very helpful honest friendly and professional. No complaints doing business with him. Other than that the company randomly increases the rents instead of lowering them. Facility needs to have privacy gating in the back and the sides. Would be better if they picked up nails from the driveways. I got many screws in my tires especially when they were remodeling.
I have never used Uhaul before, and I think after my experience I won’t ever again. Yesterday I was sent all over town for trailers, hitches and equipment that wasn’t there when I got to the location. On top of that this specific location moves slower than a tortoise with its legs cut off. There needs to be more staff available to deal with customers. I’ve been here 2-1/2 hours longer than I’ve wanted to, wasting my time waiting when I should be moving! There’s got to be an easier way, good god I could file an job application, get hired and do it myself in the same time it’s taken me to get this done! If this is how the company as a whole operates then thumbs down 👎👎👎
I rented my uhaul this past weekend with the online option to get it faster. When I got there only one person was working. He was doing a 5 man job. It took way longer than expected to get my reservation. When I got my truck, it smelled like cigarettes and tire rim was bent prior to my reservation. Because of time and long waits, I had to go and do my move. When I return it and got my billing. Got double charged for damages I did not do. I also bought the insurance for protection but it didnt help. I definitely wont be return EVER and watch where you rent. It might look nice but can be shady.
The Uhaul experience was Great, truck clean gas up the rates are low & reasonable. Paige at the front desk was very helpful, polite, & professional excellent customer service

Although this location can get very busy, I have never had a problem with the staff. The manager there is very knowledgeable and friendly. If I ever need a storage unit again, I will definitely be returning to this facility.
If i could leave no stars i would we had a reservation for a trailer for 24 hours or so we thought when we got there to pick it up we were told that it had to be back by 7 am the next day mind you we did not pick up until 5pm. When we called to ask them about it they did nothing to try to fix their screw up will never use this uhaul place again. My advice stay away from this one they are not helpful and they do not try to fix their mistakes
Good availability of trucks. Trying to rent a car dolly and the agent wasnt able to tell me the weight of the dolly, only that her system said the vehicle towing was/wasnt compatible. Fast, same day service though!
This was the worst experience of my life. I have never written a bad review because I think the world has enough complainers, but this is worthy of my time. We stood in line at the 34th street location in Houston for over 1.5 hours. Everyone in front of us had reservations, but had to redo them all because the computers were having problems. When it is my turn (finally) they tell me that the lady that was ahead of us had the same last name as me and our reservations were combined. I was assured they were going to fix it and take care of the issue. That new reservation took approx 30 min. So we were there a total of about 2 hours processing a rental for which I had a reservation. From there, we get the trailer hooked to up to find that one of the back lights didnt work. So we hitched up to another....To find out the lights didnt work...finally hooking up to a third trailer that finally worked. This process took an hour. So we were at the facility from 10:30 am to approx 1 pm. We got a one way rental and dropped off the trailer at the Eastex Frwy location in Beaumont. Where I was assured by the employee, he would take care of the return.Fast forward to Monday. I look at my account to see not only had the trailer not been returned, but I had 2 trailers checked out to me AND the lady that was ahead of me with the same last name was on my account as well and my credit card was linked to her rental. I called the 1-800 number and was on hold the first phone call just a little over 1.5 hours. The representative was very nice, but was ultimately told no one could help me because all the corrections had to be processed at the locations. Keep in mind...you cant call the locations because their number goes straight to the call center.I then called back to get a floor manager, who was incredibly helpful and did her best, but said that the locations had to fix the mistakes. She said she would reach out to the Houston and Beaumont facilities for me and have them call me. No one did.I ended up getting a cell number for the GM of Beaumont who was able to help me. She cleared up the confusion and corrected everything on my account. At the end of the day, this process took 5 hours.So would I recommend UHAUL for my rental needs? Absolutely not, but I can give recommendations of good employees that need to work for a better company with a better system.
I made my reservation online which was simple and easy to do. Later, I realized I needed my Uhaul earlier than what I had booked it for. I called the store and they said that wouldnt be an issue and that I could drop the truck off after hours, no problem.I dropped off the truck at 11PM and put the key/contract in the lock box. By 8AM the following morning I was emailed a copy of the contract with my mileage on it and the final bill.Overall, very easy and clear process! Rebecca and her team were great to work with on the phone and in person. Clean and easy to navigate facility. Very fair prices too. I will be back!
Do not use this location for a trailer hitch installation. Upon arriving on the date indicated in my receipt (March 23, 2017), I was told that my appointment had to be cancelled and that they had tried calling (I received no such call). After rescheduling for the following week, I came once again at my appointed time only to be told that the personnel needed to perform the installation werent there. The woman at the counter was no help, and ended having to call the manager (who wasnt there either). Thats two times I was turned away without so much as a Sorry for wasting your time. The sole saving grace was that the process of calling the store and transferring the order to another U-Haul was relatively quick. Dont waste your time here.
Rented a 6x12 enclosed Uhaul trailer from this location yesterday at 11am. Service at the counter was very slow with just one person working there on a weekend. I finalized my online reservation in advance which was supposed to cut my wait time in half??? I returned my trailer the same evening after hours at 8:17pm. Today, Sunday, I received my close-out bill for twice what it was supposed to cost. When I called, I can not get in contact with the location even though they are open. I was connected to a call center who has forwarded my request to speak to them. I was charged for 2 days of use for no reason. Sloppy work folks. I will take my future Uhaul business elsewhere.
I was told someone would be right with me to fill my propane tank. I waited 20 minutes before I chased another employee down only to find that the only certified employee had stepped into a meeting and would not be available for an unspecified amount of time. No one at this location ever wants to help with propane fills.

So I received a receipt through email about me renting out a truck. Having this not be the case I called to let them know what was going on and was told I had to make a police report saying I had identity theft for them to not hold me liable for this. I had to leave work to file the police report and then I drove to this location where the truck was rented which was about an hour drive! So anyways long story short Hannah the general manager was he one who made the sale but failed to verify the personal information ..she obviously didnt even look at the ID . Thankfully the truck had been returned but while I was there and I was being helped by another employee this general manager didnt even acknowledge me ... didnt even care to apologize for her stupid mistake. I guess it didnt matter since nothing happened to their uhaul. I seriously dont understand how she is even a general manager with that horrible customer service and carelessness. Oh and then they tell me that they cant edit my info so i had to call customer service to try to fix this which they werent any better!
The service at this location was completely unacceptable. Firstly, I was transferred to this location instead of one located off Ella, which added unnecessary mileage (and money since mileage is charged), time and effort to drive out of the way to this location. My pick up time and drop off time was also changed without my permission. I had signed in online prior to arriving the day of my arrival, claiming that this would speed up the check in process. When I arrived, I had to wait an extraordinary amount of time because the location was severely understaffed. During the process of getting the keys to the truck, this location required us to be verified by Uhaul calling *two* contacts before we could even receive the keys. I have NEVER had to do this with any other Uhaul location and find it completely unacceptable and unnecessary for them to require this as a store policy. I am still uncertain why this is even needed as I have already paid and gave them my drivers license information prior online before walking into the Uhaul location. I was very lucky to have my parents available at that time to receive the automated phone call. My dad was at the store with me and my mom was at my new location. A guy in line with me had trouble getting a hold of family/friends because they would not answer a number they did not recognize and the fact that it was early Saturday morning did not help either. This is a very real situation that anyone could be involved with as a large number of people pick up their moving truck in the morning to tackle their move. I even asked if they could use me as his reference number to call, but the manager refused. I am still unsure if the guy ever got the keys to his truck rental. I will never allow anyone I know use this location as it is a complete waste of time and requires unnecessary verification that other locations do not.
Boo. I needed propane for a half-grilled dinner on a Saturday night. I called at 6:00 and asked if they could refill tanks and how late they were open. The woman replied that they would fill it and were open until 7. I arrived at 6:45 and the woman refused to fill my tank as she had already shut it off. She would not turn it back on as she said it took ten minutes to re-pressurize, still five minutes before closing time. That would have been fine if she had TOLD me on the phone that they would shut it off before seven. Surely she could put two and two together and realize I wanted to fill up the tank...
This place sucks so hard.I needed a truck or a trailer to move someone out of an emergency situation on a Saturday, and I hadn’t had any luck finding one on the south side of town. I called this place and they didn’t have any trucks left, but they did have a trailer that would work for what I needed, so I made a reservation over the phone and began the hellish trek over through Houston freeway construction. 45 minutes later I get there, and the woman behind the counter tells me nope, they don’t have my trailer and there’s nothing she can do about it. I went outside and found the guy who’d made my reservation for me, and he went back inside to talk to his coworker. It turns out that the woman I’d spoken to was the “manager”, and she’d canceled my reservation so that she could rent out my trailer to her own customer. She wasted my time, and was rude in the process, and for that U-haul has forever lost my business. Also, it turns out that there’s a Ryder rental place right up the road on Hempstead that has plenty of trucks and much friendlier and more professional staff and I’d recommend them over this POS U-haul any day.
I am concerned about the bad reviews for this location.....Jennifer was delightful to talk to on the phone and she squared me away on my bad ass trailer that I need to move in less than five minutes. Please be honest with reviews and always leave good feedback for this awesome location....ooooooo lordy.
Don’t go to this location or due reservations. I put a reservation at 8 didn’t open until 9. The manger on phone the told us they were going to refund my money back. Didn’t happen.
Useually go here to pick up propaign, but let me warn you...if the older woman is the only one there, just leave. Seriously, she is THE rudest person. I just rang the bell outside to be filled up, and she, in a huff, busted outside literally wagging her figer at me yelling “there’s nobobdy here!!”....Then abruptly ran back inside. I told my father and brother about this and they replied “was it the older woman? Yeah she’s mean”.I just hate feeling of being unwanted at someone’s place of business. My apologies for trying to spend money at your facility
Awful. Dont use Uhaul period. They will screw you every time. From the store not opening when it should for your pickup, to sending you to another location for pickup, to their system being down and not able to do anything for it, theyre awful. And corporate customer service is only out to remove your complaint from the public eye, not to help you in any way. Dont trust them, find something else.
Location hasnt had the ability to fill propane for at least 3 weeks because (according to the new manager) all the previously trained employees quit, yet theres nothing indicated their service is unavailable. Took 3 trips to this place to get this out of them. Terrible customer service and no business awareness.

I had several issues with my truck rental/reservation as well as my storage reservation. Moving is never an easy task and while U-Haul is supposed to ease the task in turn made it worse. Upon arriving at the facility, 2 hours prior to closing, I was informed by Hanna that my reservation was essentially void as they didnt have any climate-controlled storage facilities nor did they have the size storage I reserved. Imagine moving across state lines with all of your belongings and not having a storage to secure your belongings in! I phoned the General Manager, Rebecca, and left a voicemail. After visiting another U-Haul, which was approximately 25 minutes away and learning that the storage would not be able to accommodate my belongings. I was left without a storage and a U-Haul truck that was due to be returned the next day. Also, Hanna changed my drop off location without my approval. Exactly an hour later, I received a phone call from the General Manager who informed me this hadnt happened before and would phone me once she obtained a list of facilities that would accommodate me. I estimate receiving a follow-up call an hour and a half later. Rebecca informed me I would still receive the free month of storage (included in a one-way truck rental) as well as a $75 VIP ticket to use at U-Haul, and an additional complimentary day for the U-Haul truck. I was agreeable because I honestly had no other choice. I also had to take an additional day off of work. I knew I should have used another company for my storage needs, but still used U-Haul (non-climate-controlled and a smaller storage than originally booked). To my surprise, corporate tells Rebecca she is unable to issue both the VIP card and the first month free after Ive signed the contract and moved my belongings in! Once I have move my belongings out, I do not have any intention of using U-Haul again! I phoned reservations, U-Haul traffic control, and left a message from the manager of storage, which was never returned. I also left a compliant, which was never followed up on. Do yourself a favor and avoid the headache. Pay a little more for better customer service and professionalism. They have the worst customer service ever!

The service at this location was awful and ended with me being overcharged for my rental. I rented a truck to move, returned it at the scheduled time (after closing) on the same day. The next day I received an email with my bill that charged me for an extra day - even though by that statement the truck was scanned in less than 24 hours from the checkout time. When I went to the location the person at the counter stared at the computer for fifteen minutes, acting like he couldnt find the record, before telling me he wasnt authorized to give refunds (why not say that up front) and not offering any other option.

GM Hanna wouldnt fill propane tanks today. Hanna made an excuse saying its against the law. We pulled up the law and showed her that she is wrong and we fill at haul daily. This location has the laziest people known to man. Hanna never wants to do her JOB. The fact that last year we spent 57k in propane with Uhaul they will never have our business again!!!!!!! You can thank Hanna!!!!

These people are so deceptive, they way under quote you. Then make threats against you when you dispute. Also I filled my tank back to 7/8 as indicated on my contract and was still charged for gas. I am currently fighting that with corporate. Avoid this place at all cost to avoid a headache. Go to the Penske down the road on Hempstead Hwy. I used them 2 years ago and no problems, I wish I had just went back to them.

We rent trailers here several times a year for various projects. They always have inventory just sometimes takes awhile to get the paperwork done and to get back out on the road.
I was charged twice for a truck rental..I paitiently waited a few days for the charge to reverse and nope..both charges went through..I wont be visiting this place again.
Standard UHaul location. They have trucks and packing supplies, etc. Sometimes they get busy and are understaffed and you have to wait a while. I do everything online before I come in to save time.
I called the local number to find out if they had propane and they gave me a price 3.?? a gallon. When I got there they were out. Lousy customer service. I would have given them no stars if it was possible!
They claim to fill propane tanks 7 days a week, but there was no one on site who was certified so they could not do it. Sadly, when I tried to call around to find an alternate location, it kept rolling over to a central customer service number, and they have no idea which sites have certified people available. Go to Tractor Supply for your propane.

Do not use! This place is storage for thieves to enter to steal your things inside where it is supposedly safe not to rent in this place if they do not want to lose their valuables. They are only warehouses for thieves to choose what suits them best and call where you call for help you get these people from u haul know they dont answer for anything, you pay them your monthly payments and wait to see what day they put you on their calendar to leave you with nothing.
