I wanted to have some “me time” during my break between Summer and Fall semester of medical school. I am a very organic & green person. I dislike the idea of sitting in a chemical smell environment. No fumes for me! Paint Nail Bar is not only beautifully decorated, the air smells clean & the staff goes over and above to make customer’s happy! I did the lickety split mani/pedi and Grace did a wonderful job! She’s a sweet girl. I enjoyed my little self care break. I highly recommend this nail bar.

Nicole, and her team, are - as Tina Turner would put it - simply the best. I had just moved to the area from Pennsylvania, knew no one and of nothing, and was eloping to add to the everyday stress of moving. Wanting to still have all the perks of a wedding day, but somewhat stressed of figuring out how all the pieces would fit together, Nicole immediately jumped at the chance to be a connector, a helpful hand, and did so with kindness and grace. She connected me with hair and makeup people, offered to do whatever she could to help make it possible for me to coordinate all my appointments on my wedding day. Then of course, on my wedding day, not much went right that morning and although we were late, Nicole and her team were still able to accommodate all the services needed and did so with so much energy and kindness that my aunt and I just wanted to stay and hang out. I cannot say enough kind words about Nicole, her team, and her absolutely gorgeous salon. In another life I owned a nail bar and while my place was pretty stinking nice, Nicoles place is absolutely amazing. I cannot thank her and her team enough for helping to make my day so special. Looking forward to my next service!

I absolutely LOVE this place. I have been a client here for over a year now and every single time I go the customer service is absolutely amazing!! everyone is kind and happy and I believe they really enjoy the work they do. It is refreshing to go somewhere and not only have your expectations met but have them exceeded!! In addition to their customer service I always feel beautiful when leaving with my nails on point!! I have never had a bad experience here!!

So i was walking in Birkdale Village and so this nail salon, from outside i fell in love, i wanted to go and see if they do really good like how it looked, people this is my spot, i always was hoping for something in the area, i had gel manicure and pedicure it is the best i had in years, i kept asking if they have someone can do arts on my nails they said yes and it’s beautiful done by Lee, and pedicure amazing done by GraceThen last i was like I’m gonna go grab coffee from Starbucks, they said we have that too, i mean really?!!I feel I’m spoiled, thank you Nicole for the coffee and for being super nice

Very sweet people. But not good work.I booked an appointment online and the total was $70 for mani and pedi, I get to the counter to pay, and it’s $120.My nails are thick. Clumpy. And unprofessional

Worth the drive from SouthEnd to Lake Norman because the quality, professionalism, and cleanliness, are the best, bar none. Nicole (PAINT - Lake Normans Owner) always puts the Customer first. My girl, Melyssa, should be considered a Master Nail Technician for Gel-X (Extensions) and is always up on the latest Nail Trends! I love the Non-Toxic approach, and never feel as though I am in a Salon.

Highly recommend - once you come here you won’t go anywhere else. Extremely clean, professional, and the service is great. Shaunasie is my go-to person but I have never had a bad experience with any of the technicians.

I got a gel manicure w/ tips. The service was great, and it was very sanitary, my problem is with the quality vs. price. I paid about $80 +tip for a full set and they werent filed down evenly, and 2 nails popped off within a week. I never get my nails done so I was super excited, but now almost $100 is down the drain.

I love the team at Pain Nail Bar! Its such a nice, relaxing environment . The staff are professional and Angie did a great job on my nails. I would highly recommend and will be returning.

I was not impressed by the customer service of such a high end, luxury spa. Due to Covid there are strict requirements on how many people can be in the salon at once, which is understandable. We booked an appointment for 6, for a special birthday celebration, and because we were all family wanted to be together. We booked far in advance and they said they could accommodate us. 4/6 of the party had to wait outside until their next appointment slots, then 2/6 were left waiting outside an additional 45 minutes until time for the pedicures. Right after our pedicures were done, the owner told us the 4 pm appointments were there and we would need to exit because of capacity. Our nails were still wet, we literally had just finished, and our 3pm nails didn’t even start on time. For $75 with tip for just my pedicure, just was a very abrupt end to what should’ve been a fun celebratory spa day. She was not polite about it, and let another woman sit in there with her friend as she finished when she was at capacity. Just seemed like our party of 6 was not a priority though we spent plenty of money. She was very defensive anytime things were not going according to plan and very curt about our services. It almost seemed like we weren’t the clientele type that got a priority. But she didn’t mind for her other guests who were in groups.The nail technician was very nice, and did a good job. But unfortunately due to the cost, I wouldn’t say worth it when compiled with our experience with the front desk.I personally am pregnant and waited outside an hour before being allowed in. We all were doing this celebration together, and yet weren’t even together for half the services. When doing pedicures, couldn’t really talk with masks on being spaced apart in the chairs. Just overall a disappointment in the facilities customer service and will let corporate know about our experience as well.

An overall frustrating experience, the reviews below by my sisters Kelsey and Tonya are accurate, the response by the owner to Kelsey is absolutely untrue, the owner did know that we had just finished our services as we told her and her response literally was “sorry, were at capacity”. My toes are messed up as I was forced to put on my shoes too soon because it was freezing outside. My nail tech was amazing, I just didn’t appreciate the way we were treated my the owner and the girl at the front desk. When we booked the appointment I asked for tips but that was somehow not booked and I had to leave with just a mani and pedi vs what I actually wanted.

Everyone is very attentive and friendly. You can tell they love their jobs and take pride in their work. The owner is great too. The salon is very clean. You need to visit PAINT! I drive 45 minutes so you know it’s good!!

I went to Paint a year go based on a friends recommendation and I wont go anywhere else now. It is so clean, organic and the manicures last so long! I even bring my two young girls to get manis and pedis here and have complete confidence in the cleanliness and precautions they take.

Let me start by saying we booked our appointment for a party of 6 exactly 2 weeks in advance. When the appointment was booked we clarified it was for 2 12 year old girls celebrating a birthday, we wanted to make the day special for them. We also had 4 adults, when booking we were asked if we were all family, which we are, I assumed this was due to COVID so we could all be together. Our appointments were scattered, the first one starting at 1:45 and the last one at 3. This meant that we had to leave our 12 year olds in the facility and wait outside which we were not comfortable with as the building was locked. The next 2 people were called in for their appointments leaving the last 2 outside waiting in the cold, one of whom as pregnant. While I understand the COVID restrictions I would assume with our reservations, far in advance, that someone would have taken this time into consideration. We were allowed to come into the building about 10 min before our appointment, we picked out a polish color and sat in the sofa. We were called back to our chairs at about 3:10ish. The pedicure was nice but 2 of us were next to each other and the other 2 across from us one chair apart. They were finishing my daughters nails and my niece was completely finished when we sat down. The pedicure was nice and just as the tech finished painting my nails and walked away the owner approached and said our party needed to depart as they were at capacity. I then said I literally just got done and my nails aren’t dry, she said sorry but we’re at capacity. So me and my pregnant sister got up and I went across to the girls and my other sister and said we need to go, they’re at capacity. My sister then said are they kicking us out to where I said yes, the owner then said well I didn’t say it that way and I said but it’s what you mean. Then we go to check out and I look at the clock and it’s 4pm on the dot. We all got the 60 minute pedicure which was really a 50 min pedicure. Mind you my mom was still getting her pedi and we all sat about the same time. We paid and the woman ringing us out kept saying “your total was” like we got some type of discount which was confusing as my sister and I each paid almost $200 each. The 5 of us then waited outside in the cold while our Mother finished getting her pedi again coming out in the cold with flip flops and wet nails. I was not bothered by the price and understood when we booked that it was a luxury salon, I was highly upset at how we were treated while being pushed out the door. Again I understand COVID but I don’t understand why dry time isn’t calculated into your appointment as it should be. My sisters toes are messed up since they couldn’t dry. This luxury birthday turned out to be a huge disappointment, if they couldn’t accommodate our party they should have told us at booking, it’s just that simple. We obviously weren’t their normal high end clientele and that showed in their behavior towards us.

As the owner of Top Notch Glass Nail Files it’s a privilege to write this rave review about a nail salon that is going above and beyond the minimum health & safety standards to provide an exceptionally clean, sanitized and safe mani-pedi experience. All of the tools used on each client are thoroughly sanitized after each use and tools that cannot be sanitized like an Emory board are discarded after a single use. Yay!Clients wash their hands before the start of their service and there are multiple cleaning steps that happen throughout the manicure service as well.The salon is super clean and very stylish in a modern design. Big comfortable chairs line the wall for pedicures where again steps are taken to assure a hygienic and safe service is delivered.The owner visits with clients, beverages from coffee to water and Prosecco are offered and the staff is very friendly and hospitable. You are well looked after.If you want custom artwork done that is available as well & all products used are the highest of quality being free of harsh chemicals. The price is very reasonable for the high quality of products and customer service.This is only the 2nd nail salon in 15 years that I have given a 5 star review to. I highly recommend this nail bar! It is my understanding this is a Franchise so hopefully more Painted Nail Salons will be opening to provide more people with safe and healthy service s and excellent customer service!

Such an amazing experience!! I brought my 3 year old daughter here for her very first pedicure. She had a wonderful time and everyone working was so friendly and engaging. I love that the polish is safer and didn’t have a strong smell and my pedicure was perfect! Everything was immaculately clean and the decor is beautiful. I was prepared for it to be much more expensive than a traditional nail salon, but the prices were very reasonable! We will be back again soon!

I love going to Paint in Birkdale. I always feel so pampered. But my favorite part is that the air is fresh and clear from toxins and I know that nothing is going on my nails that can harm me. So glad that Paint is nearby in Lake Norman!

I made a reservation based on my neighbors recommendation. As soon as I walked in, I noticed immediately how clean and fresh the place smelled. The lady working behind reception desk informed me that the clean smell comes from not using acrylics. I was impressed with the entire salon and the attention to little details to make the customer experience enjoyable. The lady at reception turned out to be the owner and she gave everyone very personal attention. The nail technicians were very skilled. This is my new go-to place. Make an appointment and give yourself plenty of time to relax and enjoy the experience.

Amazing experience every single time! I recently moved from Chicago and was looking for a dependable nail salon. I most definitely found it! I will not be going anywhere else, only to PAINT! My nails have never been healthier. All of their products are amazing and really healthy for your nails. The salon is beautiful and charming and has no chemical smell like you get in the typical nail salon. Very clean! All of the girls there take great care of you and do a great mani/pedi. The owner is such a sweetheart and really makes you feel welcome. I cannot recommend PAINT enough! It is my go to place and I would recommend to everyone to make it theirs too! You won’t be disappointed.

Best pedicure ever. I had the softest feet since infancy for two week. My pedicure was top notch. I never knew the advantages of vegan nail products. Great staff, all easy to talk to and the decor is clean, trendy and spa-like. This is my new go-to.

So exciting to have this amazing addition in Birkdale. Just had a pedi with Megan (who did an amazing job). Paint is super clean, they use non-toxic products and it’s the cutest nail place ever! They also have a great, little selection of jewelry to browse while you’re waiting. Highly recommend!

I love this place! I took my mom with me for a mani/pedi. Nicole is the owner and makes sure youre taken care of the entire time. Everything is SO clean! They sanitize better than Ive ever seen. The place doesnt smell like a typical nail salon because they do not do acrylic. Angie did my nails and was amazing! She was very personable and did a fantastic job on both my manicure and pedicure. My index finger is messed up from an accident a few years ago, followed by years of biting my nails, she didnt make me feel self conscious and did a great job painting it! Melissa did my moms nails and is absolutely hilarious. She did an amazing job and was very personable. My mom has never been so happy going to a salon with me. We both made return appointments. I cannot wait to go back!

Exceptionally clean, friendly staff, awesome products with a great color selection. Only reason for not giving a five star is that it is rare to get a same day appointment which is often disappointing.

Loved my experience at Paint in Birkdale village! After searching for a non-toxic nail salon in the Charlotte/Lake Norman area, this was the only one I found that was TRULY non-toxic (no fumes, no SNS, no toxic chemicals, etc) and it held up to my high expectations. The owner, Nicole, was super nice and informative, and my nail technician Cheriel did an amazing job!

Paint has amazing service, always with a smile. The staff go way out of their way to make sure youre comfortable and that youre happy with the quality of their work.

Oh man!! This s a great nail salon!! Its soooo clean and stylish, not to mention the ladies are extremely nice AND super talented. I always leave somewhat unhappy from other nail salons and this place was the first place Ive been to where Ive actually been 110% happy with my nails. The owner is super kind and even went out of her way to order a nail polish I fell in love with there for me. The prices are totally affordable for the kind of service you are getting. Honestly, greatly recommended!!!

I would like to warn you all searching for a nail salon to stay clear of this place. Although the nail techs were sweet the end result was terrible. I had a pedicure and manicure which were the worst I have ever had. The head person at the desk which I guess is the owner has a lot to learn as a new business owner. Just saying, dont go there!

This place is really nice and the staff were lovely. However, I was extremely disappointed in my pedicure. My feet are more rough than before I went in, the polish is uneven and on my cuticles (I could’ve done a better job myself), and the foot massage was only about 2 minutes. The service and results did not meet my expectations at all, especially for the price ($50 pedicure).

Things I liked: 1) Clean, chemical free salon.2) Complimentary drink provided during session.3) Cool, modern decor.4) Friendly nail techs.Things I didnt like:1) Being asked by the manager to provide a certain tip amount. A customer should never be expected to give more then what they want to give. It should be the responsibility of the manager to properly compensate her nail techs.2) My mani/pedi barely lasted a week..3) Overpriced sessions.4) Difficulty to do a walk-in. Only appointments required.In your response below..I never wanted to tip 20%.. I was basically pressured, to. You dont need to educate me on anything nor do you need to tell me what I need to tip no matter what my response was for my service. Period.

Amanda did a great job on my feet. Will be my new nail place from now on.
