This was my first time visiting. The flags on the main road caught my attention. Friendly and quick service. Very reasonable prices. I have already recommended it to family!!!
Excellent service!! Reasonable prices. Quick and efficient.
Between my wife, my kids and myself I have four cars to keep running. I found Harding Auto Repair out of necessity when Huntsville Automotive Inc. was booked for over a week and I couldnt get a timely appointment for them to diagnose/fix one of my cars. I called Harding Auto and took my car to them. I was pleased with the timeliness of the service and the value, and decided that they had won my business for all my car repair needs. I told several friends about my experience and encouraged them to use Harding if they had any auto problems. I used them several more times after that and was always pleased... until now. My latest problem was a fuel pump, which I knew when I took it in because it was throwing a P0087 code, which is low pressure to the fuel rail. This is almost always a fuel pump. I dropped my car off, expecting to be as pleased as all the times before. I was not. I got a quote to replace the fuel pump just shy of $1,000. I told them I felt like that was a little high... to which they said there was a lot of work involved because the exhaust has to be removed to remove the fuel tank. I got off the phone and quickly did an internet search on how to replace the fuel pump on a 2013 Ford Fusion. There were two very detailed videos that showed the whole process... Did either have to remove the exhaust? NO! Watching the video, unless you are just totally non-mechanically inclined, I would estimate a total time of less than 4 hours and the exhaust didnt have to be removed. I quickly called them back (within 10 minutes) and told them to not work on it, I would come get it and pay the diagnostic fee (which they have posted in their office as $55 whether they fix your car or not - which is fair). I showed up to get my car and was charged $172.35 - the receipt says no charge for checking the code and getting LOW SIDE FUEL PRESSURE LOW. CHECKED FUEL PRESSURE, AND ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT, NEEDS LOW PRESSURE PUMP. But then it shows a charge of 1.4 hours for checking the fuel injection system, which includes Visual inspection, Fuel pressure test and Electronic Control System test. Now Im no genius, obviously, but that check does NOT take 1.4 hours. I couldve done that at home in about 30 minutes. Plus, the code had already told them the problem, why are they checking my fuel injection system? Unless they were trying to find more problems to charge me more for repair.Well, I purchased the fuel pump on-line for $150.00 and dont expect the work to take more than 4 hours (and thats with laying on the ground doing the repair because I dont even have a lift like they do). Their estimate comes to a labor charge of $200 per hour after $150 for parts. Now, I expect that rate at a dealership, but I was under the impression that Harding was the working mans fair and affordable option. If I want to pay $200 per hour for car repair Ill take my car to the dealer and get dealer trained, specialist repair work backed by a dealer guarantee.I thought I had found my preferred working mans repair shop for the foreseeable future. I guess its time to reconsider and head back to Huntsville Automotive Inc. I will say it was nice while it lasted, I thought I had found a place that wanted my business... but I guess I was wrong. I gave them two stars in my review because of my past experience. But I wont be using them in the future, and I would advise others not to as well.UPDATE: My repairs are finished. It took me 3.5 hours and that’s with doing my repair laying on the ground with my back wheels up on ramps. The longest amount of time was spent trying to siphon the gas out of the tank. I saved a LOT of money doing it myself and can only imagine it would’ve taken me just an hour or two if I had access to the type of equipment that A repair shop has. Glad I decided to forego the $1,000 repair they quoted me.
Took my truck there for a problem to be fixed and they charged me $168. The problem still wasn’t fixed, so I took it back to them. They found the actual problem and then wanted to charge me again for them to fix it. As if that wasn’t bad enough, they were going to try and charge me two hours of labor for a job that I ended up fixing myself in less than thirty minutes. They are polite guys, but wolves in sheep’s clothing. And they’ve only increased my distrust in mechanics everywhere.
Very knowledgeable good prices
Jim and his crew are fantastic humans, Ive been very pleased with their service for all my familys cars for years and years. Trustworthy, nice people - highly recommended!
If you need your car fixed the right way this is the place to go! And its wheelchair-accsessable.
Mr. Harding is a good guy and I think he goes a little out of his way to spot future problems with the vehicles he works on. I wa
This is the only shop I go to if I need any work done on my car. They are honest and very professional. Ive always had a great experience and I would highly recommend them.
I have been here multiple time for a variety of repairs - some were routine maintenance stuff, other were more complex repairs (air pump). Jim & his crew do a great job & I trust their work. They are also great about fitting you in for a repair that works with your schedule. If they tell you that the repair will be done by the end of the day, they mean it. I havent ever had a problem with a repair taking longer than I was told it would. They charge a fair price for the work they do.
We are highly satisfied with the services received from Harding Auto Repair! Jim is very honest, trustworthy and efficient! He doesnt overcharge his customers (many times he helped us with computer diagnostics or fixed minor issues for free) and he really knows his way around cars. Thank you, Jim! Youre the best and we are extremely happy we found you!
Great service. Very friendly. This guy wont screw you over, he was very honest and trustworthy. You dont have to worry about him trying to convince you something needs fixing that doesnt just to make more money. Only problem was he doesnt take appointments so make sure you get there by 10am because he gets a lot of business.
Very friendly, honest and trustworthy business with good pricing. Fixed what was wrong with my daughters truck for a very fair price. I asked about another issue and instead of gouging me to fix it, I was told it was not even an issue and not to worry about, with a good explanation of why. Highly recommended!
Great service, was told it would be a couple day wait at other places. But he worked me in and fixed my air conditioner fast. Would definitely recommend.
I have been using Jim Harding for my car upkeep and repair for several years. I have always found him to be honest and fair cost wise. He is very good at diagnosing problems and fixing them. I will and have recommend him to anyone.
Was initially quoted $130 to put on an alternator I had bought. After 3 days they called me and said that it was done but the price had changed to $390 because they realized it was a V6 and not a 4 cylinder and they had also bought a new belt for it. They never called me to ask about the price change or if I was even ok with it. Or if I wanted to buy a new belt for it. They just did it anyways. They did not stay true to their initial quote and that is terrible business and terrible communication. Would not recommend to anyone.
My repair was done and I was on the road in around an hour. They are very honest and kind.
They did an awesome job on my mother-in laws car.
Great Service!! I have been coming here for years and value an honest mechanic (yes they do exist). He was nice enough to answer the phone on a Sunday night when my moms car broke down so I could leave it there overnight to be fixed Monday morning. It was fixed by lunch the next day. He never tried to sell us any other services. He just fixes what you ask him to look at. I took my car in one day and got radiator flushed, new spark plugs and wires, fluids checked, oil change, and a tune up for a fraction of what it would cost anywhere else and received prompt and courteous service!!
Best auto place to go get a repair
Its the best auto shop in North Alabama by far.
GREAT service, fair prices and completely trustworthy. I would not take my truck anywhere else.
I went there for a light on my cars instrument panel. The guys there were friendly and told me to come back the day after early morning because at that moment they were very busy. The day after they find the problem through electric testing which they managed to solve in like 10 minutes. For my limited experience, I totally trust these guys.
Jim is the only one well trust our work vehicles with. He is extremely knowledgeable, trustworthy, and time efficient.
Ive used this mechanic for 17 years, he gets me in and out quickly, calls and gives a quote on cost of repairs and solves the problem.
Very knowlegable folks!
Good honest mechanic shop
Fair prices and good prices
Nice and clean
Awesome shop.
