Clean and orderly. Low stock levels on clothing, especially championship gear.
Very nice. Just went for a graduation and my daughter took us by to ck it out. School is looking great!
Past 4 years has been good for my daughter! Graduation was today! Thank you awesome school!
There is a lot of clothing for sure and most of the basic stuff you need. I like the location being in the student center. Convenience
BUYER BEWARE, THEY OVERCHARGE AND DO NOT CORRECT THE ERRORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I purchased 2 sweatshirts and when I got home, I noticed that I was OVERCHARGED. I called to rectify the situation and was told I have to go to the bookstore in person to get a refund. When I explained that I cant take off again to go there, I was told they cant help me over the phone. I asked if I could at least give the lady the item numbers so she can make sure to correct the prices, so this does not happen to anyone else, I was told she cant help me over the phone. Extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled, I expected much more from SHSU.
Slow, books are absurdly expensive, and if you want shsu merch, its cheaper to go to walmart.
Very friendly and helpful finding items
Had an issue concerning a class missing in my digital course materials for almost a week and the problem was not properly taken of. Manager, Robin, never emailed me back after 3 days; sent her 2 emails in total and never responded to my phone calls. No one in Bearkat Bundle had any idea what to do although they did try their best but took a long time (4 days) to handle the issue. Decided to call online textbook services at the bookstore and Jaden took care of the problem within a few minutes... totally confused but disappointed the manager did not reply at all to my emails or phone calls. All staff was friendly and helpful besides the manager.
Very well organized and prices were fair.
There nice and very helpful
Over priced... like way way over priced. 75 dollars for a polo with the school logo, I mean come on guys.
Very nice renovations and practices social distancing well.
Line was long, but moved quickly, & got my book without any trouble
They were quick to figure out the issue and resolve it.
Awesome and a huge campus
Staff was friendly and helpful when I was looking for all my books. They had a nice selection of SH merch. I know it is busy right now with everyone picking up their books for classes, but I feel like I was in and out of there quickly. It is so convenient having them on campus! Keep up the great work! I will return to this store in the future. :)
Bookstore was nice. They just remodeled. The associates are friendly too
Too overpriced
Made a simple purchase online for a polo shirt. Waited a week to email them because I never received confirmation of my order. Email address didnt work. So I called and gave them my order number. I was informed most of the items online are not available. So why have them available for purchase online. Yall need to fix that.
Get your books anywhere else! These books are way way way overpriced! Don’t sell them back here either you get no money back. Sell online buy online. Save money. This place is only out for your money.
I love working here and plan on pursuing my PhD here as well!
I WAS SCAMMED HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS FROM THIS BOOKSTORE. I had 8 books that totaled over $500 that I had purchased from this book store on campus & quite a few of them were not even a year old. They would not even consider taking back 7 of them & than the 8th one that they sold to me damaged for over $100 they would not take back because of the damages that were already on it which for the record was just a black streak on the side of the book. There was no missing pages or any real damage. And it’s funny why people go into debt because of college. You get screwed on the tuition & boarding paying easily over 10k a semester for a piece of paper & than the book store will nickel and dime you along the way. And for the record this scam store bought out all of the book stores in the area to force college student to buy out of town or online. I really don’t like writing reviews like this, but the truth must be heard. So that other people can avoid $500 bonfires with their “worthless” books. Go to 2nd in Charles or literally anywhere besides this bookstore. Renting is also not worth it because of the late fees they charge. Literally buy your books any other place for your own money’s sake!!!
Well, we all know the college textbook business is a racket. No surprise there.Of course this bookstore can pretty much be counted on to have what you need, but it will be overpriced. Some decent workers here sometimes, but expect plenty of little stuckup college kids with no other work experience mixed in.
The staff seems to want to hassle students. Be very careful and save receipts and photos of all books received. They claim books were rented when they were never available for pick up and refused to accept a return based on a books condition, even though my daughter had time stamped photos of the condition the book was in when she received it.
Visited the book store the other day as we were visiting the campus along with a friend who will study there. It kinda follows the generaI norms as all university book stores do, overpriced goods. I really dont know why this is the case when the target audience is usually students who cant really afford the extra prices. Hope it gets better, other than that its all good.
Everything is pretty much overpriced compared to other sellers. They do price matching on books but it doesnt always work. Other than prices, its a good store.
My daughter has always liked BN. Wherever they are, she can always get what she wants or needs. If they dont have it. They make it so easy to order/find.
Not a bad place. Just overly priced. Checkout lines are designed to positively slow down shoplifting but clog up the checkout lines making forUnnecessary lines for the honest student to run in and purchase a neccessary book or scan- tron between classes. I graduated in Fall 88 and the issues still have not been addressed. Despite this employees and Manager excipute a excellent customer customer experience 5 stars for Manager and employees .
Make sure you call ahead and actually make sure they are open. Drove about 70 miles to get some Sam Houston merchandise. The hours on google maps showed open until 2 on saturdays. The managers need to work on that.
This bookstore sold me an Instructors Edition that was clearly labeled NOT FOR SALE! And they hid it with a used book stickers, as well the place where it was labeled Instrcutors Edition. They labeled the book with a student edition ISBN but when I tried to sell it to an off campus book store it was identified. When I took it campus bookstore they offered me $50 bucks! The original store had offered me $130! When I asked the bookstore to provide me with a student edition, which is what I paid for, they were rude and would not! Nor would they offer me a competitive buy back amount. They acted like I had no option, which at that point I didnt. Bunch of crooks! Never will I buy on campus again!! Sad because this was my first semester at SHSU, I expected more.
This is the only Barnes and Noble Ive ever seen that didnt have a single book on the floor. There was a textbook section, but it was closed. Theyre not a mainstay for anything, unless you count merch for the local college team.
They are always super helpful and I have never not found what I went in to get.
Ramen sells for $1.98😶... The greatest deals ever!
They need a far better system for buying your books at the start of the semester. Lines and lines for as far as the eye can see.
Convenient place on campus to get textbooks (with option for online ordering) plus supplies such as scantrons, etc.
Went in to return a textbook i rented last semester and the woman working was very rude to me. She wouldnt explain to me where the line was and when i asked her about book returns she informed me in a very rude tone that i needed the poriginal recipt which no one informed me i would be needing when i rented textbooks. Still have no idea what to do and will never be going here again for textbooks.
The staff is good. The prices are nothing shy of comical. If you enjoy getting ripped off, this is the place to shop.
Bought a hat, they sent the wrong hat, informed them of this and they said they would call me back. They never did so I call them. They tell me they dont have the hat and cant say when they will have it again. I ask for a refund and they say they need the hat back first. They are more than happy to take your money first before sending you the wrong item and ignore their mistake but they wont refund until they get the item back. Terrible customer service, do what you can to avoid using them.
Nice, employees are helpful-ish, but a little pricy, when you could get similar if not the same merchandise at Walmart for like half the price
I always enjoy visiting this Barnes & Noble and browsing books. The smell of books when you walk in will always beat shopping online.
Most of the prices are good but the price of calculator is too much..
Nice store but things are over priced.
Literally can not get anyone to answer the phone. I’ve been calling for a week now.
Its a college book store.
Bought a defective phone charger from our campus bookstore. They wouldn’t give me the option to exchange or refund even though the charger broke after it’s intial use (within the exchange period)
Great continuing education classes
This is a classic B&N. Be warned that SHSU is very hilly. Be prepared to walk.
It seems like every semester they dont have enough books available for students or they arent getting their shipments in on time.
This is your go to Sam Houston University Bearkat Store.👍👍👍
This is my schools book store around 11 or 12 they are packed
Staff is short. Out of most items I like to order
Large selection of items from books, supplies, backpacks to shirts, mugs, and accessories.
Items posted online are not always available. The turnaround for online orders is entirely too long. The store is run by students who are not very professional and know very little about customer service.
A larger variety of thungs for SHSU Students
Way too expensive!
Ok for a campus bookstore
Over priced!
It was littttttttttttttt
Lots to choose from
Like it !
