I needed a three dollar part for my Fugi. I drove 12 miles to seek advice from the best. I got it. I hope people like these are able to survive in our economy. I have been here a few times the last couple of months. I wouldn’t call the staff friendly, but we get what we need less than 10 minutes from home. My son and I went in there today originally for one $5 item but wound up getting 5 items and spending $65. A staff member complained to my son about making him go to the stockroom again for additional parts. When he came back, I corrected him, saying the requests were mine and not my son’s. I told him there wasn’t a good reason to be rude. I had decided to get parts for another bike while we were there. Another staff member came over and said this guy’s cantankerous but has a heart of gold. I get having a bad day, but treating customers rudely and making excuses doesn’t make sense. The staff directed a rude comment at my son and didn’t apologize. I don’t appreciate him targeting his comments at my minor son, who was innocent in the matter.

Very nice bike shop. The owner and employees are very friendly, great service. I was surprised that this shop will even price match which is cool so you don’t have to drive all over town for the best price on an item. There is a large parking area in the same plaza big enough for a semi truck, even though there are signs that say no semi truck parking, I went and parked long enough to get what I needed anyway.

Great shop!Bought 2 bikes from here. They have a good selection of bikes of various prices. Some COST, some are affordable. I bought a bike from Target costing more than what i paid for 1 bike in the shop. BOIs bike is significantly lighter and smoother!Not all shops are expensive.If you dont have a bike. Go in and check them out.

I purchased a cheap bike from Walmart that was pre-assembled incorrectly, and had some bent pieces causing shifting problems. I brought the bike here and for a very good price they adjusted and/or replaced/repaired parts to get the bike working correctly. The manager even came out while I was loading the bike up to give it another test ride to make sure all was good before I drove off. Great customer service. Thank you.

My gf and I paid a visit to BOI on our lunch break from riding at Southwest Way. We are fairly new to MTBs and are picking up gear as we need it. Our visit was honestly one of my favorite parts of our day.We picked up some things we needed, got a few recommendations on products and trails, and learned a few valuable riding tips.To say the staff is friendly is and understatement. I dont think Ive ever felt more welcome in a retail establishment.BOI is highly recommended and is where Ill be going when Im in the Indy area.

Despite the love that many have for this place, I cannot describe How uncomfortable it is to purchase something that you cannot return. ----Wanted to purchase a Kinetic Bike Trainer and the owner refused to give me the option to return it for whatever reason (even if the product was defective)- No RETURNS. I felt treated as a distrustful customer. Someone without sense of integrity.I wish the owner would know how much he is hurting his business thinking that he is helping it.Visiting this place twice was a waste of my time.Do not recommend due to the owners attitude.

Have been shopping here for years. I find the staff very knowledgeable and helpful. As well as buying parts and accessories I have had my bike serviced there several time and was pleased with job they do.

After years of cycling, wife reached a point she needed to go with a trike. Ordered one online and closest shop I could have it shipped to was BOI Indy. Contacted them prior to ordering and they welcomed the chance to receive and assemble it and kept me informed of when it was received and assembled and ready for pick up.When we arrived for pick up, we were met by owner John and Eric on his staff. They patiently walked my wife through trike’s setup and were very knowledgeable of not only her trike, but bicycles and riding in general.We were both very impressed with BOI and were very pleased with dealing with them. Would highly recommend that anyone wanting to purchase a bike or needing service contact them. Believe you will find them as friendly, helpful and professional as we did. First rate operation.

Zero stars is still too high of a rating...Absolutely and positively the worst retail experience I have had in forty years of life. Incompetent staff, obnoxious management, and atrocious customer service... I have received better treatment from disgruntled McDonald’s employees for $5 purchases and I had intended on spending over $3000 at BOI.Don’t shop here, period.And to the staff personnel who respond to Google ratings, don’t bother... there will be not be an opportunity for rectification or apology.

Was an immensely useful place. It was very convenient they were open on Sunday, as most other places were closed.The selection was vast and varied, though the prices are a bit up there, yet the staff (who are the nicest and most sociable people you ever met) were willing to be honest about everything and explain bike markets so it made perfect sense: theyre not selling too high; other places sell too low. They chop prices because of lower quality products. BOI is worth it.

I received the BEST service from BOI. Eric at the shop is very knowledgeable, nice and honest. I took my bike in for service and he found a crack in the frame. Instead of just pushing me to a new bike, he gave me my options so that I could think about it. I trust him completely.Let me add, I will tell EVERYONE I know about BOI and their wonderful service. I already have started that word of mouth. I wont shop for bike supplies anywhere else.

Stopped in at BOI and spoke with Tom about a GT Performer in September. Tom was very helpful, knowledgeable and took time to answer any questions I had that day. Didn’t buy the the GT that day. However, I returned a week later and purchased the GT with a very seem less transaction. Thanks Tom and BOI.BOI will be my place for future bikes as well.

Leaving a 3-star review for this business gives me no pleasure; especially after reading about its wonderful history and stated deep root philosophy, “customer is king”. Purchasing my bicycle was a 5-star moment full of smiles, lighthearted jokes, and informative selling. Frankly, I was there with a friend who was buying a bicycle and I never planned on that large expenditure - the skilled salesman made this deal happen. I was told during our talk that my bicycle would encounter “problems, a lot of problems” as it broke in. He said BOI therefore offered a free tune service and “just bring it back.” Here is where events soured: I did soon have problems. A rear wheel squeak occurred. My shifting gradually slipped and the chain rattled a week in. By second weeks end shifting was becoming hardly rideable. I called to utilize the free tune and was initially met with firm resistance - they weren’t accepting repairs due to being full. What’s more, an odd standoff occurred with the agent after inquiring how I would know when to bring my bicycle in. He basically suggested I drive up to see acceptance times posted on the door. They weren’t calling me with a heads up and me calling daily was an exercise in futility. I pressed how recent my purchase was and what the salesman said about having inevitable problems. I was transferred without empathy to that friendly individual who without qualm said bring it in. Upon arriving before work, I noted a staff member riding up at 08:57. The doors unlocked at 09:05 with customers waiting. Inside, the front line sales person said he’s not accepting my bicycle; I reiterated my conversation. After a fair amount of overt sighs, some fast pacing (if only he moved that fast to open on time), and several attempts to inconvenience me with returning 5-days later, he took it. I inquired about upgrading from a stock saddle while there. His reaction was either disinterest or agitation at having to accept my bicycle - I just left still wanting to talk about alternative tires. In 2 quick days I got a call for pick-up. I later contacted a representative in all seriousness at 16:25 to make sure they weren’t leaving early since opening late. I explained I would arrive at 16:50. The response was they close at 17:00 and “hopefully you’ll make it”. When I entered, there was great hurry to process us 3 customers so staff could lock exactly at closing time. That hurry was such I was not given any indication of what repairs were made other than “it just needed adjusted” and “I couldn’t find the squeak, but tried some grease and hopefully it will work itself out”. My first true test ride when I got home determined clear front derailleur rattling, eased not alleviated slippage, and a 3/4ths lessened rear wheel squeak. I Thankfully purchased a bicycle stand on Amazon and could then YouTube to complete remedy - scenarios needing learned anyway. In conclusion, I believe passion by *some* staff wanes. What work done in my case was 100% not validated; this caused frustration and uncertainty about necessary road training before me. Acquiring emergency or “customer is king” repair space was a chess battle, even when certain matters like having a brand new bicycle that works warrant such courtesy. With those observations, I enjoy shopping the store. However, I currently will do so in a more self-sufficient capacity without dedicated store allegiance. A consistent customer experience that delights equals loyalty. As I become immersed in the cycling family where needing help or supplies may arise, my overarching hope is good contact skills better equalize across the employee spectrum. Also, I worry craft pride in workmanship teeters on mill mentality. At 3-stars, I remain open to what our future business interactions hold.

Went looking for 2 bikes after spending several months looking at places like Target and Walmart and just werent satisfied with the quality of bikes available for purchase there. Loved that we were able to test ride the bikes in the parking lot prior to purchase them. Also loved that the bikes were able to be delivered to our house when they wouldnt fit in our Chevy Spark. Great service, definitely will be back.

Placed and order for 2 Maxxis tires on May 16, 2020 via Amazon which showed items were in-stock at the time; order was accepted and authorization for payment was placed and items showed as shipped with a delivery date of of May 25. Everything looked like a go until item showed late in Amazon, then i get an email 5/26 saying the item was not avaiable! Why did it take so long to let me know item was not available? I wasted time waiting for an item that was never going to be sent. I could have ordered a different item and received it in time for my scheduled bike ride with friends. I dont know if there was issues with seller and Amazon, but either way, a customer got burnt and did not get what i ordered.

I had work done on my mtn bike don here. Completely new shifting system and taken from three cogs to one. My bike has never worked better. No more on the trail maintenance!Also, I read a BS negative review where the company defended their company and explained the situation...awesome!!! Dont write bad reviews when the fault is your own.

Not only was BOI the most competitive in regards to price. But, John was by far the most helpful and personable person I dealt with today. I went to 4 bike shops with a pretty good idea of what I wanted, most of the people just stood and looked at me and showed me the most expensive bike like what I was seeking. John from BOI showed me 3-4 bikes and several sizes, set me up to try them out and adjusted seats on both the bikes I was looking at multiple times. I couldnt have asked for a better experience. I would recommend this spot to anyone looking to make an investment in a bicycle or accessories.

Very impressed overall. I got some tires and tubes when they were having a sale. They did not have the item in stock and offered to upgrade me to a more expensive tire. They shipped fast priority mail even though I am on the other side of the country. Will do business with them again!

I travel all over the Midwest for my job and go to every bike shop I can find cause I like to see the bikes in person instead of pics on the internet and this is by far the best bike shop I have visited. The selection is great, the last two bikes I bought for my son I bought from BOI and its a 2 1/2 hour drive but its worth it. Staff is great and friendly, they dont make you feel stupid for being a novice. Very helpful, they stand behind their products and their work. If they dont have what your looking for they spend the time to try and find exactly what you want. I wouldnt purchase a new bike without visiting them first. Best bike shop I have been too by far and will continue to make the drive when Im in the market for a new bike.
