I’ve been going here for about 2 years. Bought my bike there and all my accessories from shoes, helmet, gloves(warm weather and cold), and service. Always knowledgeable, professional, and each time I come away with something that makes my riding experience more enjoyable.
Went to them for my tire to be aired up as well. They over aired up the tire and the tire blew up. I called BGI OF Indy who replaced my tire and fixed the lining all for $20 where as Gray Goat representative could not air my tire up in one day I had to leave it over night. When I tried to ride the bike after 3 peddles the tire blew out. They charged me $21.09 to PUT AIR IN A TIRE THAT THEY AIRED UP INCORRECTLY AND CAUSED IT TO BLOW OUT. I will NEVER RECOMMEND YOU ALL. Take your bike here: Bicycle Garage Indy & BGI Fitness for customer service!!!!
First off the shop is really nice they even have a bar upstairs where you can drink and watch your technician do work on your bike. All the staff are friendly and awesome but Brian made installing new tires with tubes on a wheel look effortlessly. If you are in the market for a new bike or need service on your current bike I highly recommend you check them out!!
Went to get a tire inner tube replaced on my stand-up electric scooter. This is pretty much the only place we could find that even did this kind of service, and we were not disappointed! The staff clearly knew what they were doing, and they did a great job changing the tire. Despite being a bike shop, would definitely recommend for anyone having scooter problems.
Gray Goat made it easy and knowledgeable. Looking forward to the next upgrade.
Matt was helpful, efficient, and friendly when we brought our bike in today. He got the tube fixed quickly so that we could ride our bike again! He also offered sound advice and recommendations when we asked his opinion about some things on our bikes.
Worked with Larry to get my kids bikes fixed that I bought at Walmart. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and explained things perfectly. Bones are back up and running and better than ever. Was inexpensive as well.
Responsive to all needs in all the right ways in an absolutely gone-wrong world of manufacturing and shipping deficiencies known to end such businesses overnight. Its hard to feel served by a business that falls short of pre-Covid-19 expectations. Thats because you havent been served. However, since that is the unavoidable reality in the world of bicycle shops, you will have to adjust those expectations if you want any substantive interaction with it.Heres what you should know to make that eventually happen:Gray Goat fails in no wise to understand the hardship in that for you, and it shows. For example: If a bike you want isnt available due to a manufacturing or shipping delay beyond their control, they can tell you why with a specificity akin to an IRS audit. They can say where your bike is made, where and how is it shipped and stored, in some cases, down to the production schedule, storage depot and transportation route. Insodoing, they ground your expectations in detailed reality, never once shrugging their shoulders in a your-guess-is-as-good-as-mine fashion.Of course, that changes nothing until it changes something, and your assessment of the futility of that is right-on. Even still, you should fail in no-wise to see just how important their business is to them. Regardless of their motivation — whether it be for the love of money or the love of you — their demonstration of a desperate desire to keep going evidences an absence of and aversion to the prevalence of disinterest that now pervades most businesses that have succumbed to their impending doom. Unless you have already succumbed to same, youll find their attitude a boost against same.Thats nothing now, Ill admit; but its something later if God be true. A passion for business, which is a passion for people, becomes a habit when it endures. Even though Gray Goat suffers like everyone else, Im confident a difference will reveal itself in the end.
The folks at Gray Goat are impressive! They are always very helpful and pay attention to the details. I really appreciate that.
Today, my wife and I had great service from friendly/knowledgeable staff. What a great, new location too! Thanks for the awesome experience!
Purchased my Specialized Tarmac here and had an awesome fitting done. Super friendly staff and they know their stuff. Very satisfied with the quality and service. Thanks again Brian!
Visited new Southport road location. They got my bike riding better than when I first bought it.I got the tuneup and a spoke replacement. Super easy, just dropped it off and picked it up about a week later. Thanks.
A lot of items and parts available to the public. Impressed with the quality of brands and merchandise, wasnt able to find anything from Kona though. With great quality comes a great price though! Looking forward to trying their services out in the future.
Excellent experience everytime. If they dont have something in stock they will find it at another location or order it for you. Someone is always there to make sure you have been helped. They are very knowledgeable and willing to help.
Best ever. Weve been buying our bikes from Gray Goat since 1995. Always the best service! ♥️
Avoid this store at all costs. after buying headlight i tried to return it less than an hour later. told they dont take head lights back as the sign says. trouble is that is not what the sign said. then was told well that is on our web page. if it is, you cannot see it. if could give them zero stars i would. they dont care about their customers
Cory, Brian, and the guys are the best to work with. I have purchased a lot from them and had them do a lot of work on my bikes. The new shop is a big improvement! Thanks fellas!
Friendly, responsive, great selection, and quality mechanic work! I have been buying bikes at Gray Goat since 2003 and will continue to do so for myself and my family.
They over aired up my bike and caused it to go flat- now I have to buy a whole new tire. Thanks fir nothing.
Friendly knowledgeable and efficient staff.Excellent service!
Had bought a bike online, had trouble with the cables. Gray goat replace the shifter cable, working great. Two days later the chain broke, took it back to have that fixed. That put a new link in the same time. Very happy to have great service.
Charged me $20 to air my bike up and caused the tire to blow out. Go to BGI instead - they will air your bike up for free!!!!!!
The staff is incredibly kind and extremely helpful. I truly appreciate them taking the time to walk me through several items. That’s what you get when you shop local.
New location is awesome, and so is the staff if you need a bike it bike help check them out!
We called to get 3 bicycles serviced. The guy who answered the phone was friendly and helpful. We arrived at the Southport Road location, and the staff was anything but friendly. My 13 year old son committed, Dad, The guys at Columbus Cycle are a lot nicer. Lets go there next time. We have several Giants and this experience made us appreciate Columbus Cycle. Note: I appreciate the response and will try them again.
This a wonderful place to purchase a bike Larry is very knowledgeable with his bicycles and equipment
Excellent spot with a caring and fair staff. They are great.
Editing my review to add a star because this bike was stolen recently and their extra step to register it (referenced below) helped it get returned today! No other bike shop I’ve ever bought from has gone the extra step to do that, and it really paid off!Happy with the bike, fair price. The sales experience included some typical bike shop snobbery but the bike is well put together and they registered it with a stolen bike registry which is cool.
Not knowledgeable at all. Went in to see about ordering a bike that they carry and the kid didn’t know what I was talking about and just said we have bikes in order.
I went in looking for some answers on a few questions I had. The gentleman that helped me went above and beyond what I was expecting. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. I like working with him so much that this store has now become my bike store.
Cool, knowledgeable, helpful, I highly recommend.
The staff wasnt friendly at all. Almost like they didnt even want my service
What a great shop! I got the quarantine desire to get a bike and had been looking/researching but still wasn’t quite sure what I wanted.Rick was so patient and kind, explaining lots of different things I needed to know to make decision. I came away with this red beauty and Gray Goat is coming away with a life long customer in me.Thanks so much Rick!! :)
Excellent product and service.
I highly recommend Gray Goat Bicycle Co. on Meridian Street! They have ordered and built 3 bikes for me now, and each time has been a flawless and kind experience. Each employee treats me extremely well whenever I am in the store and I look forward to bringing my business to their shop in the future!
Great people to work with and very helpful!!!
Incredibly helpful and genuinely nice ppl working there. Highly recommend theyre services!
Even during the busy season, I have had very little wait before I was greeted by someone ready to help. Their pricing is competitive and with several locations in Indy, there’s a large stock in town. Also, had a tune-up and everything worked very well. Most of my experiences have been at the north store.
Great overall experience everytime i have been in. Even fixed my bike on the fly after a short trail ride so i could go back out. Just bought a few helmets for me and the kids and the staff was great. Thanks!
Bought a bike from Gray Goat in late May. The bike was creaking and shifting poorly after a few rides. Brought the bike in and was told shifting was fine and that I am wrong about the noise.I had to drive a few hours to get here and very disappointed in the staff customer service and their rude demeanor. Will definitely not recommend shopping here.
Brought my bike in for a quick safety check and chain work. They had me in and out within 20 minutes. I had all of my questions answered and I left satisfied. I will definitely come back in for future maintenance. The staff are very professional, definitely felt valued as a customer.
Experienced...knowledgeable. Easy time at a shop. No pressure and wonderful service. Thanks for the sell.
Got a little confused finding the right size mountain tire for the bike the tires are in the back so you must ask it is a expensive but they do have the newest stuff. Disclosure all bike shops are expensive.
I love this place... very friendly and get you what you need!
Got me a set of tubes today last min (right before closing) so I could keep on riding tonight. Super accommodating!! 10/10
Cody at FSQ is extremely skilled and can tune up any bike to perfection! Highly recommended!
I had a really hard time finding a bike rack that would work with my car and my little travel trailer. They did an excellent job of exploring all the options --- and of explaining the pluses and minuses of each one. They were terrific! They also did a wonderful job of installing the bike rack I bought from them. It is completely secure. They are knowledgeable, thoughtful, and a real pleasure to work with. Thank you, Grey Goat!
Brian and crew helped with a fitting and tuneup today, and did a super job. I ride 5000 miles a year and fittings are critical to avoid joint and muscle pain. Gray Goat uses the Retul system for precise fitting. Brian was very thorough, and took the time to explain everything. A great shop!
Thanks for helping me out when I needed tubes at the end of the day today!
Love this bike shop. My husband and I have only been riding a year now and love everything about it, and it wouldnt have been possible without the help of the Gray Goat staff. They really went out of their way to make sure we were getting exactly what we needed to enjoy cycling. They offer clinics, exceptional service and friendly group rides. Cant say enough about how happy we are about our experience
Gray Goat Sports is by far the most welcoming LBS I have ever been in. The two managers are helpful and reassuring when it comes to the purchases I have made in the shop. The owner is warm and welcoming did not even realize it was him when he first assisted me. The rest of the staff is always inviting and knowledgeable, I have bought two bikes from them and almost all my accessories and components for those bike. They even have a beginners ride to cut your teeth on while getting to the cycling world where experienced cyclist work with you and others to form a solid group ride which is no drop (no drop means that you will never be left behind). This team has taught me the love of cycling and I owe them a great thanks for helping develop a true passion in my adult life outside of the 9-5 grind. Thanks Gray Goat and I will see you all on the Road!!!!
Brian sold me my first Mt Bike many years ago when they were at the old location off 31. I felt like i got a good deal and could tell they knew their stuff. The mechanics were great too. Ive only been to the new location a couple times to get some misc stuff but i have no doubt they remain one of if not the best bike shop in Indy. There were many times they got me a fast turnaround on a bike tune or fixed something so i could hit the trail the next day. Not sure about now but they used to sell Hoosier Natnl Forest trail passes here. You can get all your Power Gels and Hammer stuff here too last i checked. Good people here.
Incredible service. Trustworthy and speedy.
The guys at Gray Goat are the best around. If you are looking for top notch customer service as well as a wide variety of products this is the place for you. They are open 7 days a week and always willing to help you no matter your budget is.
Had to get my cycle repaired under warranty and the manufacturer said to take it here. They proceeded to do additional work on it with out getting my approval or even contacting me first. Charged me for said extra work and I found out later they threw away or stole some unusual parts I had on it.Ive only been to two Gray Goat shops once each but Ive had issues every time.
I recently experienced an issue with my mountain bike. The staff and owner of Gray Goat were instrumental in helping me get back on the trail! They took the time to provide and explain the myriad of component options available and which were compatible with my current drivetrain. They then facilitated the ordering, purchase, and installation of. The staff are knowledgeable and dont push a sale (VERY much appreciated!). Highly recommend this shop (both locations).
Very rude owner. If you don’t know about bikes he makes you feel stupid. They are always trying to up sale you on more expensive item you don’t necessarily need. Will never shop here again!
Well stocked with products and bike accessories. Predominantly Specialized Brand. Well layed out merchandise is well displayed. Prices are medium to higher end. I purchase my cycling Gels and small parts from Chris R and Crew.. Knowledgeable staff and full service mechanic shop.
All growing up my family went here for any bike needs to receive great service. I just got an awesome bike last summer from here! There riding groups are very friendly & welcoming (just like the staff). The owners are pretty amazing too - great family !
Best local bike shop with unmatched service! Competitive prices and high quality products. One of the few locally owned and managed stores that truly loves to just get people on bikes. Serves all needs from the casual neighborhood rider all the way through the professional.
I went in for a bike addition for my 6 month old son. These guys were awesome! Very knowledgeable and super helpful. I ended up buying a bike for myself and they were very set on making sure it was the perfect bike for me. Helped with seat adjustment, making sure I understood gear changes...explained that they would be there in the future with a free first time tune up and free support. Im a dad of 4 and just took my daughters out on a bike ride with my new bike. My bike was everything I hoped it would be and my daughters for once had to catch up to me! This is the only bike shop Ill be using in the future! Great customer service and a definite 5 stars!
They have a nice selection of bicycles whether you are a beginner or expert. Prices are reasonable and competitive. Have purchased three bicycles there in the past two years--one Electra and two Specialized-- and have been very happy with the sales and service aspects of Gray Goat Sports. Highly recommend trying them out.
Thanks Corey!Love it. Brought in a couple of ancient broken down Trekz thinking Id be better off throwing them away. But they took em in and Ill have them back after the weekend! Heck YA!
Stopped by today to get my bike looked at. The rear derailleur had been shifting poorly. Not only was it seen to right then and there, they also took the time to show me how to properly clean my entire bike. Which was explained to be the root cause of my shifting problems. This kind of one-on-one attention from a shop is very much appreciated, and gives the impression that you are more than just a customer to them.
I arranged a bike fit with Brian due to his level of knowledge, experience and level of certification. He was very willing to educate me on the process and the why of it. He was timely with his appointments and great with follow up. I had to have a follow up appointment for my new shoes due to my larger than normal womens foot size, 43. Not only did Brian have the 2 closest sizes and their 2 color choices for the shoes, he price matched them. Lastly, he extends follow up on the set up for future tweaking if needed. Additionally, I purchased other bike related items and will continue to shop there despite living in Bloomington.
They do bad business...mechanics relow. Guality standers.......situation resolved with great results
Great repair and gear spot.
Great!
Gray Goat is the best! Brian and Cory were extremely helpful in picking out and setting up my new Allez. I ordered my bike just before Specialized issued a recall of the fork. Before the details were released on the recall, Specialized stopped shipping their Allez models, so Brian went out of his way to drive to another location to get me my bike. He got me on the list and swapped out the fork as soon as Specialized shipped the new forks. He then worked out the details to get me the $75 gift card from Specialized (due to the recall). After some initial bike set-up I was having some knee and back pain. Brian and Cory worked with me to adjust my saddle and swap out a stem for a slightly shorter one. I highly recommend Gray Goat to anyone as a place to buy a quality bike. I plan on buying a mountain bike from them in the future, and I will also be spending more money at this shop instead of buying stuff on-line. Ill gladly pay a tiny bit more to support them and benefit from their experience. In many cases, their prices are the same as on-line pricing anyway.Just go there and tell them what you want to do on a bike. You wont regret it!
Great shop! Everything you could want or need for both serious and casual cyclists. Staff is extremely helpful. Highly recommend!
I am a first-time caller of Gray Goat Bicycle Co. Indy -- I spoke of that there be another Indiana bicycle retailer with the wording of Indy in its business title.Next, I verify: You sell road bikes.I was told from Gray Goat Bicycle Co. Indy -- Thats right.~I mention of Campagnolo.NEVER HEARD OF IT --- I Was Told.I replied: Its Italian Componentry. THE BEST YOU CAN GET. Better mention it to your other customers.I never had received such a phone reply. from a bike retailer.
Just a great all around bike shop.
Dont return rubber but I was able to luckily.
They were not trying to sell me stuff I didnt need. They explained what I needed to do to get my bike up and running again. They showed me what parts I may need to replace in the future and where they were located in the store. I will be back!
Very helpful and professional
Have purchased bikes from the Franklin store and have been very pleased with the exceptional staff and the services that are offered. Being new to cycling, they have helped me to make sure Im getting what I need to enjoy the sport. I have attended some of the clinics that are offered and benefitted from the greatly. Ive showed up for some of the group rides and havent felt intimidated by being new to the group. If I have had any questions they have always been answered professionally and knowledgably. This shop is awesome and I would and have recommended it to others.
Fair prices and helpful staff. The quality of bikes and accessories are both good.
Expensive like wow expensive
Excellent customer service!
Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean kept store and a great variety of tools and bikes. 10/10
I had been in Gray Goat several times while deciding to make my purchase and I never felt any pressure from the staff. When I did finally purchase my bike, the friendly staff was more than ready to take care of all my concerns and questions. Thank you! Gray Goat Sports!!!!
Staff are invested in assuring customers are heard. There is no interest in up selling-- they want to understand what your needs are and help you select product based on that vs what costs more or has more bells, and whistles.
Great staff. They got me on the right bike and Derek did an awesome job with my bike fit.
Great prices. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Great service and competitive in store pricing. Have purchased several rides for MtB and joy riding around the neighborhood. Always friendly staff and they help with the trail efforts at Southwestway
Dude fixed my sons hand break in less than 7 min. The staff is awesome and so knowledgeable.
Great service and know how. Derek was friendly and informative. Would definitely recommend.
Exceptionally nice staff who only persuaded me towards equipment and bikes that met my needs rather than push the more expensive items.EDIT:Update: Its been a couple of months since I bought my Specialized MTB. It was definitely not a more expensive version but a mid-level hard tail. Since then Ive logged a few hundred miles on it in hot, warm, cold, freezing, rainy and snowy weather. I mostly ride to work or to go shopping for food and other needs because I sold my car long ago. To date it has been a dream to ride and has never failed on me. I did get one flat in that time because I went over a curb too fast. Otherwise its been great. And, yes, there are things I will definitely need to upgrade for better performance (for when I compete this coming season) but as it stands this thing is fantastic. In the time Ive had this bike the Gray Goat team has adjusted the mechanics several times (minor things that all bikes require when they are being broken in) and provided good advice on other times. They even took for adjustment when I was there just to get lights for the bike. Sweet.I dont make much money so when I do buy something I want it to be worthwhile and provide exactly what I need. Again, Gray Goat has not yet steered me in the wrong direction. The stuff I have purchased has worked exactly as they explained. The information they provided allowed me to make a wise choice as later I checked reviews on most of what I have purchased to find their recommendations were in sync with those of professional cyclist. Yay.I actually look forward to being able to get a more capable bike when I have the money saved up and Ive already begun window shopping at their store. Full suspension, baby! This review sounds like a fanboy trying to convince others to also buy his favorite product but I am not blind to my purchase. I did check out the other stores in the area, I actually wanted a different bike (more expensive, harder to find) and wasnt convinced that Gray Goat would be, or would remain, a good choice. They person who initially talked to me months before I bought the bike was an experienced rider both casually and professionally. I gave him my basic needs and rather than the more expensive options he steered me towards the far less expensive, but not cheap, Specialized MTB.After researching it, going back a few times, checking other places I eventually went back and made the purchase. Smooth as butter. Now, two months later, Ive been back there a few times for adjustment or other purchases (each one researched to be certain I was getting what I needed) to improve my bike experience. To reference this review I just cant be happier with my decision to go Gray. I will be back there for my next bike without hesitation.
Very patient with me and my 2 year old daughter. Very knowledgeable and helpful with a small purchase. I will be back for larger ones. Support your small business!
Grayt knowledgable staff, friendly, no worries if you have little or no experience. They sell Specialized. They are local and responsible to the locals. I like the sales staff here, there are no bike snobs here.
Dropped off 2 bikes to be packaged for shipping. Both bikes arrived to the destination poorly packaged. 1 frame scratched and 1 missing a seat collar. Talked with the shop numerous times and in the end took no responsibility for any of it. I would not recommend their service department for any work.
Great store great service. Purchased my sons first bicycle here and the experience was exceptional.
Awesome bike shop!!! Its set up like the other bike shops in Indy, but the people are friendly and most helpful in all facets of purchasing and maintaining your bicycle.
Very professional and very knowledgeable. Help you get a bike that is right for you and un your price range.
Good service, very informed. Great location too!
Always helpful, fast service and fair prices. I will be going back again.
