I called to speak with the shop prior to bringing my vehicle in and I spoke with Phillip whom originally came off as nice and helpful, he urged me to get my vehicle in as soon as possible so they can look at it and told me hes there til 6pm, so to get it in as soon as possible.. Sent the truck in and had to wait days before he was even able to look at it and was told there were other cars...from that point everything he said was a lie...I called and spoke with him today after having the vehicle towed to different auto shop and receiving different information he told me look you only paid 69.00 which is nothing so what do you want...I asked to speak with the owner of the shop he said there was no phone number and I could not, he slammed the phone down in my face and hung up on me....please do not do business here that is not how you treat customers

Unbelievably rude customer service. Definitely won’t be taking my car there. Called for a quote and the guy who answered had a smart mouth and was rude for literally no reason. I wouldn’t recommend these guys at ALL if you value good customer service. I was shocked how rude the guy was. He didn’t want to look up the car to give me a quote to rebuild my transmission and he made slick mouth comments. Unbelievable!

Just wanted to add an update in 2019 as these guys continue to amaze me with there ability and amazing service. We have done a new clutch and new transmission and if you havent owned an 88 wrangler, well then you dont know the complexity of these but WOW! My jeep is on a whole new lever thanks to T&K Auto! Thanks, Guys!!!!-- from 2018Brian, Phil and team are amazing! I have an 88 YJ Wrangle that has a lot of custom work and they have it running like never before! Have owned it for 12 years and been fighting a vapor locking problem so they help trouble shoot it and did a conversion to a circular fuel solution with a high pressure fuel pump. I have just spend 2 weeks driving it around in the Dallas hear and it is truly fixed!!!! I absolutely recommend these guys for whatever you need!!

Phill is a great guy, Im new to the are was looking for a new mechanic that I can trust he has been honest about work that does or doesnt need to be done price is fair I am very happy with his work I absolutely would recommend this shop.

I agree with Greg Cox. Personally came over to visit the place and some guy came up to talk to me. I asked him how much to repair a VW jetta transmission as I know the transmission mechanically is fine but possibly just need to replace some electronic parts on it. He immediately gave me ridiculous price that is more than the transmission replacement cost! I also have a bad front differential on my Durango and ask how much to fix that and was quoted over $2500. It was a quick word of mouth quote. Did not even check the books or anything. From our conversation, I can tell this guy did not want my business so I assume that is why he quickly blurred out that ridiculous quotes at me. I do not recommend anyone to come to this place with this kind of attitude.

My brake lights suddenly went out and almost got rearended on LBJ yesterday. T&K came highly recommended by Valvoline guys who helped check the brake light fuse.It was after 2 pm today but Mr Scott worked my car onto the schedule to check it out. I am so grateful he did. I thought it would be electrical wiring with a huuuggge bill $$$ but it turned out to be my brake switch! So, instead of shopping for another vehicle, I can drive my little 2006 Mercury Milan for a little while longer! Yay!

Experienced professionals and on top of it gems of a people. I would like to name out specifically Phil and Allen, they help you make right decisions and offer great suggestions which is best for your vehicle. Very patient in listening your query and answering best to their ability. And the service they offer is top notch. I had transmission issues in my car and they guided me to get the right transmission. I am definitely going back there again whenever I run into issue with my car.

My camaro started making noises from the transmission after taking it to autocross. Thinking it would be an expensive repair but turned out to just be broken shielding under the car which they let me know and had it repaired within 2 days. Would reccomemend this place!

Allen over at T&K Automotive at the Los Colinas location took very good care of me. My trucks transmission went out, and needed a repair. Allen kept me informed through every step of the process, what they were going to do, and how they were going to fix it. He made several calls to me to inform me on what they found, and what next steps they were going to take to get the transmission fixed - again, keeping me informed and i felt assured. From someone who uses customer service best practices in my own professional work, Allens customer service along with the rest of T&K is second to none. My experience with T&K was great. Ill be going back for any future needs.

5/14- WARNING: This shop will lie to you and take you for all you have. Took my car back to T&K after last post b/c it still wasnt fixed. Was told the service engine light came b/c my gas cap wasnt secured. Ive owned this car for 3 years & never had that problem before. I test drove the car for about 100 miles, seemed fine. Was out of town for two weeks… Come back, start the car and Service Engine Soon light comes right back on. It still shifts hard between 1st and 2nd & there is a hard clunk when I go from reverse to drive. Charged over $4000 and my car STILL ISNT FIXED. Lied to and cheated. Assured up and down the car was fixed. Do not use T&K.4/19 - This didnt start out as a bad review - Initially, I felt that I was in good hands with T&K Transmission. Phil, and to a lesser degree Brian, reassured me that they could find and diagnose my cars transmission issues. Things fell apart after I agreed to let them work on my car, after diagnosing the problem. In total, they had my car for 3 weeks.High level:- Total lack of transparency about timelines and communication- They broke my car more while they had it (went in for a transmission repair and an oil leak fix --lower intake manifold gasket-- they broke a push rod in the process)- Had no concept or seemed to care about how not having a car was impacting me- Left my car absolutely filthy (pen marks on the seat, oily hand prints all over the car - literally all over, sides, hood, doors, inside the drivers door) and didn’t leave an oil mileage sticker in the windowI gave them my car on a Monday and was up front that I would be out of town the following week. Shortly after dropping the car off they diagnosed the issues in the transmission and I agreed to let them begin working on it. After not hearing an update for several days, I called back during the middle of the second week and had many assurances from Phil that they were putting it back together. It would be ready for me to pick up the following Monday, the start of the third week.Then the complications began. He called me back shortly after and said there were issues with putting the motor back together and that in the process, a push rod had bent. There was no additional cost to me to fix this but they had to take parts out and get them machined.The third week I was back in town and needed my car. I called Monday and he said they were still putting it back together and on and on it went. On Thursday, I had complete assurances that it would be ready by Friday. I explained my predicament, that I needed my car and Phil hurried me off the phone. On Friday, I called 5 times. Phil answered twice, said it looked like my car would be done around 4 and he would call me back. He never did. I spoke with Brian as well and he said that Phil was busy or hed call me back. On Friday, end of week 3, I had no update on where my car was or when it would be ready.On Monday Brian called me back and said he knew I was anxious to get my car back and they were doing a final test drive I could pick it up around lunch. The audacity and total inability to take responsibility of the fact that itd be 3 weeks and no one could transparently tell me when my car would be ready was never addressed. Instead, when I went to pick up my car, Brian sat in the room with Phil who sheepishly walked me through my itemized receipt and what I was paying for. I was given assurances that the car runs great, they had wiped it all day and it was ready to go.

They were very helpful and knowledgeable. They fixed the oil pressure sensor and cut off the check engine light. They completed in one hour.

These guys are Professionals! My Nissan Xterra was a crank no start and after they ran various tests they found out the problem was that my distributor was loose (most likely from another shop taking things off and not putting it back on incorrectly) they fixed the problem and that was it! No upselling or checking fluids I did not ask them to check. They got it done quick and car runs better than it has in a year. Thank yall!!! Keep up the good work!

Make sure you get quotes from other places. I got a quote here and it was nearly double the average of the others. They were efficient and knowledgeable in providing the quote which is why I gave more than one star. Even if you dont know what is wrong, just ask for a quote on a specific part replacement on your car. That will tell you whether they are higher than the rest.

Wow wow wow I can’t say enough about this place. I’m new to Dallas and didn’t know who to trust with my vehicle and after a check engine light cam on I was referred here. Alan picked up the phone with his kind demeanor and walked me through the process. We decided I would drop my car off during lunch. I pull up and meet Phil, such a kind soul, who checks the vehicle. He speaks to me about his love for Dallas, makes some recommendations, and I’m the end it was just a check engine for gas cap and they didn’t even charge for the diagnostic. Do not trust this automotive repair shop with your vehicle. If I could below 1 star, I would. The only reason this shop has high star reviews is because they promise you a free oil change after you pay for your 1st vehicle oil change and write a 5 star review.Dont buy into this. I brought my vehicle here and they told me my hoses needed to be replaced because they were dry rotted, sequentially they cut the whose. In actuality the hoses were replace 2 years prior. They the replaced the radiator which needed to be replaced, but even that was questionable because it was leaking the next day when I drove it to work. I took it back by there and the desk assistant stated it needed a CAP. Really, the quality and value is too questionable because they are supposed have certifications. To charge a person a house payment for those things are unacceptable.

I went there to get my brakes changed and the service was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. I’m usually nervous when going to new mechanics, but they were able to ease my nerves by showing me what my brakes looked like before and after they changed it. As well as what to look for next time so they don’t get as bad as they were. I was very satisfied with the service I got.

T & K Auto Repair did a great job fixing the transmission in my 2015 Dodge Caravan. I recommend them for their honesty and quality transmission repair. This is the shop I’ll use if I need any other transmission work, A+ all the way. Their staff gave excellent customer service and were very knowledgeable in the field. My engine blew on the highway.-they let my vehicle stay in the lot for upwards of a week-worked with a separate company of my choosing to see if repairs were worth the cost-didnt try to make an extra buck by giving unnecessary charges-was completely upfront with me from the start about the vehicle even on the fact that it might not be worth repairing

T&K Transmission and Automotive Specialists:A couple of years ago I had been referred to T&K (from a national auto repair chain) for a possible transmission issue. I went to T&K, expecting bad news. I was surprised that they in fact said there was nothing wrong with my transmission. WOW! What a relief! I did have some other things I needed to have repaired on my car, and they performed the work on time and with excellent results! I drive a 2005 Chrysler 300, and T&K is a big part of why my car is still on the road, with over 325,000 miles on it! Philippe is GREAT to work with, is experienced and very honest. Had coolant leakage in my vehicle, They fixed it and the vehicle is running good since, Have an Audi q5 with many miles on it, They made sure nothing else broke with this work and the job was done with precision. Overall the cost looked on the higher side to me, may be thats how the way it is for German cars. I recommend this place for honest and precise work. Good customer service.

Havent dealt with these guys personally... but I went and picked up a vehicle from the Irving location for a friend of mine after he received a 9000... yes 9000 dollar quote to repair the vehicle... he ended up giving me the vehicle and was going to buy a new one... I looked at the invoice... stating metal in the oil... Theres no metal in the oil... Ive changed it... claimed oil pan and Trans pan were dropped and inspected... the bolts havent even been touched... claimed metal in the Trans fluid... the metal in the fluid was about what you would expect from a 200k mile vehicle... claimed had timing issues and no test drive possible... Ive seen this before.... Motor was running really rough... I dropped the exhaust pipes from the manifolds... runs like brand new... a simple 300 dollar set of catalytic converters... fixes the problem...FOR ANYONE HAVING A VEHICLE REPAIRED ANYWHERE.... ALWAYS GET A 2ND AND 3RD OPINION! IF THE MECHANIC HAS A PROBLEM WITH YOU GETTING A 2ND AND 3RD OPINION DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM... my friend would have been out 9k dollars for a 300 dollar fix plus labor....

T&K did a fantastic job with my transmission repair. The associates were extremely professional, very helpful and did a great job on the repair in a timely manner. Although this company has a good reputation, mine was the worst I’ve experienced. T&K are father and son business.Tan being the son whom I dealt with whenever he was around. During my month long experience he was continuously sick. The shop was open wherever he or his two mechanic showed up. Come to find out they were soon closing. I have an older model Land Rover that was in need of a air compressor and a strut. After replacing all with after market parts the function of my car got worse. I took it back 7 times (no kidding) for them to figure out what went wrong and constantly, but kindly got the runaround. During my last visit I was told to bring it back on Monday which I called to make sure Tan, the owner would be there at my time of arrival. Tan answered the phone and told me he was closing shop that day and for me to take my car to their other location and he would call ahead to brief them on the going ons. When I took my car to their Irving location they looked at it briefly and said it only needed calibrating and now it worked fine. Well it did for 30 and the problem as before came right back. I then called back and asked to speak to the father who was never there, so I left a messages to please return my call which he never have. Finally an employee who familiar with my situation told me that the owner would not warranty the problem from his closing location. In short I took my car to Land Rover and they replaced the air compressor with a their LR compressor and it’s worked fine ever since.BTW I truly trusted and had hopes that my situation wouldn’t turn out to be one of those horror stories. But it did, good luck ladies.

I was in a tight spot when my transmission started to stick and fail on the way to DFW airport. When I called, Mr. Scott helped me figure out a solution to my situation and put my mind at ease while I was out of town. Upon my return, I towed my car to T&K and left my jeep there, as all shops were closed on the 4th of July. They looked over my jeep the next morning and quoted me at around $1650 for the transmission work. I called another shop nearby and they gave me a similar estimate, so I authorized the work after some negotiation. The next day, Mr. Scott called me back and told me the work would only cost me $800 because some components didnt need to be replaced after all. They also flexed to allow me to pick up my car on the weekend when they were closed. Overall, I was super impressed with their honesty and professionalism as they helped me work through these issues. Transmission problems are never pleasant, but T&K definitely made a tough situation easier to deal with. Thank you!!!

A recent relocator to the Tx area, we did not have an automotive shop and our car was sick. We googled T&K automotive and it was well worth it. I was from out of town. They test drove my truck and gave me his opinion that I may make it home and suggested I give it a try. After I got on freeway I realized I wouldn’t make it far so I brought it back and had them fix it.

With all the work my Jeep needed, I felt I needed to wait a few months before giving a review, just to make sure...T&K did an excellent job diagnosing and repairing my transmission, as well as fixing a rear differential problem that chrysler has been unable to diagnose for years. Got my transmission, yoke, and drive shaft done after the yoke gave out. At 170,000 miles on it was recommended by service representative to rebuild transmission said tons of metal shaving in the transmission pan, found out clutch and torque converter were bad as well, after the initial shock of the repair costs they were able to get it done fast and right. After 1300 miles the car running with no issues so far, they also provide 12 months warranty

This place is by far the place to go to, i have went around town looking for a shop willing to help me out with my problems with my truck ( 5.4 lariat v8 2007) the issues that i was having was, seems like it was having trouble getting from gear to gear, i have went to many places, they told me it was my transmission over and over again. Will i have a friend that visited T&K, told me that they were fantasic, worked with him and didnt screw him over, i wanted to see for my self so i called and spoke with Brian Goudy the General Manager, i got to say one of the most well educated about vehicles that i have ever talk to, he knows what he is doing, the guys there will walk you step by step ensure that you get your car in tip top condition, and come to find out i didnt need a transmission repair all i needed was a tune up ( spark plug ), my truck is running better then ever i love it, i would give these guys more stars if i could, i will continue to keep going to T&K from here on out all my family and friends are are going here Best place ever thank you Brian and guys from T&K

Brain Goudy is great! I have an older model SRV, which I love and plan to keep for awhile, it is in pretty decent shape but needs a little TLC maintenance. They fixed my broken hatch, and a couple other basic repairs....all at a decent price. Picked me up from my job, when repairs were completed. If I could give them no stars I would. The older manager was always rude when I would call in to check on my truck. When I got my truck back they said it was good to go and had test drove it. When I drove it home there was a obvious issue when shifting from 3 to 4 gear. Would never go back!

*****worst experience **********It was worst experience me here. They didn’t find anything on my car like what was the Issue.I gave to them my car to check what was the issue, they kept my car with them two days and they charged me 70$ without providing any issue.After that I went to another place and they fixed the issue permanently.Please be careful while going to this place.I don’t recommend this place.

I recently needed maintenance on my vehicle and a friend of mine told me to take it to T & K because he had a great experience there and was treated very well and the work done was top notch. I wasnt looking for the cheapest repairs because there are many repair shops to choose from to go the cheapest route. I was looking for quality work and honesty more than the cheap route. I talked to the Manager Brian Goudy when I arrived and after he went thru the processes of what my problems could be I felt very comfortable with having the work done there. He went thru everything with detail and treated me like I was a special customer. Because of him and the great work done on my vehicle I will definitely tell my family and friends to take their vehicles to T & K!! Great job to Brian and T & K!! You have a customer for life!

One of the best transmission repair places in Fort Worth location

This place is great! I was in need of an oil change on my new car and wasnt sure where to go. I had heard rave reviews about T&K so I called. I spoke with manger, Brian Goudy and he was so helpful. He explained to me the difference and importance of a regular oil change vs. synthetic. His knowledge helped me make an informed decision in the ongoing maintenance of my car and this is extremely important to me as I have purchased used cars before that had severe damage from lack of oil changes. I had a tight schedule and came in on my lunch break and Brian assured me he would get me back to work in time and he did. It was so nice to be able to run out on my lunch break and take care of this vs. waiting 3hrs at a kwik kar on my Saturday. This is now my place of choice for all future ongoing maintenance to my vehicle and my families vehicles. If you are looking for an honest business where the employees care then this is the place. Never again will I put off oil changes in fear of being taken advantage of. Now I know exactly what is needed. My expectations were exceeded and the waiting accommodations were comfortable which is important when you are a girl! Great job Brian Goudy and the T&K staff! Keep up the great work.

This is ABSOLUTELY THE WORST place to go..... The in office staff is full of liars and thieves. I took my car in to have the shifter changed and and was told that my car needed more work. Seeing as it was a restoration project I didnt mind letting them do the work. The car is a 71 Chevelle so i told the officer manager Phil that i wanted the best parts put on my car and i didnt mind paying for it. Well what they did was buy the cheapest parts they can find and charged me for the high priced parts. Before the car was finished i requested a copy of the parts that they purchased and the part numbers and they said they would but after i paid the bill they changed their story. Most of the parts that were purchased were for the suspension but i cant get to those part to see what they are but they did change out my intake with a 300 dollar eddlebrock and charged me $1800 for it. This place is NO GOOD.... THEY WILL CHEAT U ANYWAY THEY CAN. ANYONE WHO SAYS THEY GOT GOOD SERVICE HERE SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO CHECK THEIR INVOICE.PART 2 OF MY REVIEW.......This place just keeps getting worse and worse...... So not only did they lie about the parts that they put on my car. The parts were even new. I took it to another shop (which they (T&K) actually sent me to) to called A.E.S to have some engine work done and once they pulled the engine out they noticed that my power steering pump need to be changed, I told them that T&K had put a new pump on and even checked my receipt to make sure. It was there on the receipt $381 dollar for a new power steering pump. I went to A.E.S and sure enough it wasnt new at all. One of the owners at A.E.S. asked me to bring my receipt from T&K and I did after looking over the receipt he noticed that T&K had double charged me for an alternator to the tune of $651.00 so naturally I call them and make them aware of the issue..... If you are thing about going to T&K PLEASE READ THIS NEXT PART CLOSELY! Like I said they double charged me for the alternator so when I went to get my money back for the over charge they wouldnt even give me a full refund. the part was 651.00 and thats just what they gave me a check for, they refused to pay me back the almost 60 dollars in taxes I paid for the part. When I asked why I was told that they had already paid their taxes so I couldnt get it back..... This place looks really professional on the outside but they are far from professional when it comes to the work and way they treat people on the inside. This place used to be under the AMMCO name until AMMCO pulled their name from under them for ripping people off. It sucks that I had to be the one to experience this but hopefully my experience will help the next person from living thru the nightmare that is T&K auto. Please understand I am not writing this review to bash T&K but to warn the next unsuspecting victim.
