Really took my time to look for a good machine shop around town to have my cylinder head resurfaced and rebuilt. I decided on Auto Block Welders and I cant say that I regret it. The bottom of my head was as smooth as glass and everything worked perfectly when I put it back together, no leaks in the head gasket.

Do not go here!!!!!!! Went in for an inspection for a block and they said it was fine. Then i tried putting in the studs on the block and they wouldnt go in. The bolt holes were NOT inpescted at ALL!! Took it to them to fix it. They said “We torqued all to 80ftlbs”. I went to torque my head and at 50ftlbs it pulled the threads!! Also left metal shavings all over the block including inside the bore. Do not recommend this machine shop at ALL!!

Extremely fast service. Took only two days to machine my engine block and crankshaft. There were metal shavings and metallic residue leftover from the magnafluxing. Also, they dont take much time or communicate well to see what services you want done. Ended up paying for an extra service I didnt need but the prices are reasonable, the service is fast, and the overall quality of the machining seems excellent. Last point, make sure you tell them if theres anything you want to reuse!!! They will throw old parts away (like pistons when overboring and spark plugs if theyre still in the head) if you dont specify to keep them.

Took a couple of aluminum heads to be resurfaced, they did a great fast job and for good price. If I need to anything else like that I will go to them

Absolute worst service I ever received. Two brothers own this place. The shorter bigger one is EXTREMELY confrontational. Took a performance motor to be machined. The polish on the crank was second rate (had another machine shop repolish) and they charged me double for the bore job bc they werent capable of boring the size I needed within one pass. They were caught pressure washing the block out back rather than heat tanking it (block was still dirty.) This isnt the worst part though...I go to check on the progress of my block and saw they do not use torque plates when boring the block out. When I asked him why he didnt use one and if he would run that motor in his car, he said he would not. I asked them to give me my parts and I would go to a capable machine shop. A confrontation occurred when he still requested payment for a job he did not do correctly. The brother became extremely irate and eventually took my block and threw it off of the dolly across the concrete and ruined my motor. It took them weeks to replace the parts they destroyed.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU STAY AWAY FROM THEM! You will not be getting what you paid for and they cut A LOT of corners that will cost YOU thousands to repair down the line. Horrible establishment and horrible (possibly racist. Im African american) human beings.If I could give a negative rating, I would.
