I have nothing but great things to say about Daniel! My wedding dress came in 3 months late due to Covid, leaving me with only 3 weeks to get my very full/multi-layered dress altered. While I was turned down by many seamstresses, Daniel not only welcomed me in for a consultation that next day but he took on the project that was my dress, and assured me that getting it altered within that short time frame was more than feasible. He truly made me feel relieved! Even upon the first meeting, I knew he was an expert in his field and that my dress was in the best hands. I will begin with this: If you are online searching for a good tailor right now, stop and give this shop a call. They are the absolute best!My (now) wife and I had an idea of what we wanted our wedding to look like. We went to them with the idea and they RAN with it! The image attached shows how awesome he did. We had a couple of adjustments throughout and he is extremely responsive. Pretty much any time I called, I got a response within the day (typically an hour or two at most).They made my suit (see the guy with the tall hat, its me) FROM SCRATCH! I cannot express how amazing they are!

Daniel is absolutely amazing and SAVED my wedding dress. I had an awful experience at another Alterations place (Sew Beautiful Bridal- do NOT go there) and i was given my dress back a week before my wedding with a hole in it and lots of alterations still needing to be done. A brides nightmare. Daniel took my dress in with no hesitation and said he would have it back to me in 2 days. And sure enough! Fixed and fitted like a glove, my dress was in my hands ready to go 2 days later. I went in a couple months ago to get my wedding dress altered. After trying my dress on I was told it would be $580 for alterations. This seemed excessive to pay, so I told him I was going to shop around. When I didn’t commit, his entire demeanor changed & said nobody was as good as him. Turns out I got my wedding dress altered elsewhere for only $300 & it was flawless. His arrogant personality is what really turned me away.

If you are looking for high quality service look no further. Daniel the owner had to alter an extremely difficult dress for a pageant for my daughter, a job that no other tailor was willing to do due to the difficulty level. It wasnt a simple hem or taking in, not only was he able to do it but did it in less than a week and kept me updated throughout the process. I came here for a blazer and vest alteration. I have lost about a hundred pounds since I bought them and they were way too big. After speaking with the knowledgeable tailor, he said he could alter it to fit me for far cheaper than buying a new blazer and vest, which is what I figured I would have to do. The price he gave me was a good deal, and they fit perfectly just as he promised. I will definitely be back in the future.

The Tailor Shop has quality fabrics at fair prices.  The best quality experience can only be had by having clothes made.  I bought 7 shirts over 5 years ago and they still look and feel new.  If taken care of properly, i.e. dry cleaned in house with mild soap and no starch, the fabric and stitching will last a long time.  $100 for one shirt may seem high but when compared to mass produced men’s dress ware companies, the clothes from The Tailor Shop are a no brainer.  You can get 2 shirts for $75 at other mens dress ware stores.  You will wear the shirts for 6 months and need to replace them.  That’s $150 a year to maintain a 2 shirt wardrobe.  You will spend $100 every 5-10+ years at The Tailor Shop (plus price and frequency of dry cleaning) for a 1 shirt wardrobe.  For dry cleaning I use Oceanside Cleaners, they are across the street from The Tailor Shop and they do Pick Up/Drop Off within a certain radius of each of their 2 locations plus, they are in house dry cleaning.  The final bonus to having clothes made at The Tailor Shop is the clothes will fit properly the first time, barring no major body figure changes. The mass produced men’s dress ware companies clothing can only be altered so much from the generic template used to cut the fabric.  Not to mention how hot those mass produced shirts can get!!!  The Tailor Shop clothes will feel like you are not wearing anything at first, due to the breathability of the fabric.  Once you get used to the breathability, you can never go back to the mass produced clothing, which is tight, hot, humid and low durability.  Remember, this Florida!!! Let me not forget to mention the Annual Tailor Shop Fashion Show, its gets bigger and better every year!!! Its a must attend event if you like fashion and high end events.

The ONLY tailor on Southside that was willing to be flexible with preparing my suit that was due by the weekend! He was highly professional and acted in my best interest. He wasn’t looking for a quick hustle, but was more of an advocate of what fit my body measurements after my suggestions and would help explain the reasoning behind it, too! Definitely a welcoming store and I think I found my new, permanent tailor for my time here in Jax!

I went to the tailor shop to have four custom shirts made. As a bodybuilder its hard to fit my physique. I met Daniel and he was very nice and measured me. We picked four colors and he committed to me that it would be done within 4 to 5 weeks. The first time I went back and the sleeves were 4 inches Too Short. The second time I went back which was 7 weeks, he told me all the shirts were ready. When I got there he tried to convince me to accept one shirt that was too tight and wasnt even the right color. He tried to sell me the color that was wrong. When I had him bring out the bill he confirmed that the color I chose was different than that shirt he made. He also told me that the fourth shirt wasnt ready yet because of fabric hadnt come in and we had already been waiting 7 weeks. I only purchased two shirts and had him refund me the other amount. As much as Daniel is a nice guy, I find him to be somewhat unreliable. You will have to make your decision whether you want to take a chance on having him make you shirts.

My fiancé and I went to The Tailor Shop to have a custom suit made for our upcoming wedding. Daniel was extremely helpful in our decision on both the material and design of the suit. Every concern or question we had he was able to provide a valuable answer and provide quality service. The suit fits wonderfully, looks incredible, and we can’t recommend Daniel and his business enough!

After being turned down by two alteration shops and a leather repair shop I looked for a alteration shop close to me and found this place and brought in my mermaid tail. Needed a few stitching in a couple of places and it was done in a day!!! I’m so happy and pleased with the work. I’m not one who needs things tailored so I can’t speak for anything else like clothes. But my tail fabric is diver knit material. Loved this place!!

Daniel did a wonderful job on my wedding dress. It was a very detailed dress that needed a lot of the hem taken off. He took off all of the appliqués, hemmed the dress and reapplied each appliqué so delicately you could never tell. The dress was stunning and fit perfectly due to all of his little fixes. He also did an exceptional bustle that was easy to do and stayed in place all night. I loved how the bustle did not take away from the dress and the overall shape and look of the dress was maintained all through the night. I was also an out of town bride, I live in Indiana but bought my dress and was getting married in Jacksonville, and Daniel was very accommodating working with me to schedule fittings when I was in Jacksonville.

This guy is great but be prepared to spend. This is not for the average suit. This is for people who need something very particular and are willing to pay for it.

Im full of regret. Got a really nice suit and wanted to get it fitted - the guy says he wants to shorten the sleeves, but to preserve the style theyd need to from the top. Acted like it was no big deal, an easy fix - just a little more expensive. When I got it back, I didnt think anything was wrong, and he seemed okay with the result. But once I took it home, I realized the joint of the suits shoulders were completely ruined. With just a little research, I realized I was a complete fool - never mess with the shoulders of a suit. Ever. I got played hard. He did a fine job with pants, and Im sure minor alterations are okay. But dont trust him.

My daughter received a Cozy Plush cat when she was a baby, she is now 7 years old. You put it in the microwave to warm up. Well for some reason my daughter stuck a hair pin in it. We did not know, so when we placed it in the microwave, it caught on fire. So anyway. I brought it to the Taylor Shot and they fixed it. Looks great and he did not charge me. The tailor shop I use to go to closed down so I had to goggle a location for another one. I came across THE TAILOR SHOP on Southside Blvd. It was Thursday afternoon and I needed 3 Jeans shortened. I asked if I could get them done before Monday. They said that they would be done by Saturday and possibly Friday. I dont think it was more than 2 hours later that I was told that they were ready. I was very impressed with the business, service and the price. I would recommend to anyone and will take all my tailoring needs to them.

Great workmanship! His prices are higher than other shops around town, but you pay for his work. He does a fantastic job tailoring suits, he listens to what you want altered and it comes out better than expected. I tried a different tailor in town, it was cheaper than The Tailor Shop, however, the hem (simple plain bottom hem) was not performed well, you could see the stitching on the outside of the pant leg. The jacket was suppose to be taken in, in the mid-section and it was not taken in at all.

The Tailor Shop is the best tailor in town! I’ve been going there for around 15 years and am happy every time. From having a suit reconstructed to simply hemming pants, I’ve had the best experience here and will never go anywhere else.

Daniel does a wonderful job, but the cost to alter my jacket ($165) was more than the price for my jacket. I have been to other alteration shops since Daniels and am more than satisfied with the other shops prices (50% less) and work. No need to spend Daniels prices to have a a jacket altered.

Ive gone to Daniel two times for bridesmaid alterations. The first dress was lacey and beaded, the second chiffon. He and or his staff do exceptional work. I feel his pricing is on par with his skill and I would have paid Davids Bridal the same price for alterations. I picked Daniel because hes close to my work and altered my last dress in two days! He did NOT charge me for rush order. I plan to take my casual clothes to him for repairs, and will be taking a third bridesmaid dress to him this spring and have even referred the bride to him. I originally came to the Tailor Shop to get clothes repaired or altered but after a while Daniel Motorca was making all of my custom suits. His eye for originality and master craftsmanship help to make him the finest tailors that you can find anywhere. I highly recommend going in and looking at what he is capable of.

The owner is an expert tailor. However, I have two major concerns. First, he charged $120 to tailor a suit coat. This is very expensive, especially for Jacksonville. I had numerous suit coats tailored in Los Angeles, when I lived there, for under $75. This is nearly double the price in a city where the cost of services such as this should be way less. Second, I have had to go back on two occasions now to get the lining on the inside of the suit coat re-sewn. They didnt sew the liner correctly the first time. He fixed it on the spot for free. Last weekend I went to put it on and it was completely un-stitched again. Im very unhappy that I have to drive over there again. I would expect, after paying $120, that he would make 100% certain that it was done right, and at the very least that the repair was made right if it was brought back.

The owner of this establishment, Daniel, is arrogant and condescending. His mother Flora, who is the true genius in the shop, is kind and delightful. I began going to The Tailor Shop 4 years ago when I first moved to Jacksonville. After my first, terrible, experience with Daniel, I met Flora, who saved the day, and my wardrobe. For the past 4 years I have brought all of my suits (I work in a environment which requires suits) to Flora to have them tailored, as nothing I buy off the rack fits me quite right. Floras work is impeccable! This week I made an appointment to see Flora to alter a suit, dress slacks and a pair of jeans. When I asked to see Flora, I was met at the front desk by Daniel who informed me that Flora was not available. No problem - I will come back when Flora can see me. Thats when Daniel told me that Flora was no longer allowed to measure and fit clients and that she was assigned to the back of the shop. Confused, I asked Daniel, since he is the owner, and I had a long-running working relationship with Flora, if she couldnt be allowed to come to the front of the shop and help me. I was told no, Flora is assigned to the back. She cannot measure/fit you. I picked-up my suit and slacks and left the store.I am now using Deerwood Tailoring, a bit farther south on Southside, where the customer service is excellent!

Very good for my first time eating Thai food.

I brought in a pair of pants to be tailored here, and the owner did a quick measurement. I specifically told him that I wanted to pants tailored so they werent too baggy at the bottom and the tailor said he understood. When I got the pants back, they were WAY too baggy at the bottom, which is the reason you get pants tailored. I told the owner, and he said that this is how people are wearing them, to which I replied that I specifically did not want them tailored that way. He offered to redo them, but I would have needed to pay again, to which I refused.The tailor here is skilled, but hes going to do things his way, which isnt good when you are getting clothes tailored. As someone who paid a hefty amount to get my pants tailored, I did not appreciate this at all. I wouldnt recommend this tailor.

So to be completely honest, I was terrified to take my dress to be altered. I needed a ton of alterations, and my dress was so delicate and detailed. HOLY MOLY!!! The Tailor Shop far exceeded my expectations, and handled my dress with so much care. I was very specific with the alterations, and I needed a ton of them because of my body shape. The quote I received was a little more than some other shops, but it is WELL WORTH the extra money. My dress wouldnt have looked this good if I had taken it elsewhere!

I truly believe that the Tailor Shop is, BY FAR, the very best there is--period!! I have always been very hard to fit (as well as please); and at over 300 pounds, sometimes I have not given my tailors a whole lot with which to work. Most of the custom” wear I had brought over the years from other shops has come at an extremely high price but never quite measured up to their hype. ...Then along came the Tailor Shop, which I stumbled across one day by accident.I have known Daniel since 1992 but had never used his services until I became serious about the way I wanted to look. It is TRULY RARE to find someone even as remotely honest, caring, forthright, and downright meticulous as he. He showed me some of his work; and at that point, all I needed to do was give him was one try. So I bought six custom shirts from the Tailor Shop, and the rest is history. They fit like a dream! Sometimes, I even want to go to sleep in them. That, of course, led to my buying several pairs of pants, a few vests, AND MORE CUSTOM SHIRTS. Now I am in the process of having a suit made.To make a long story short, I will no longer buy anything custom from anywhere else. His shop embodies perfection in every sense of the word. If you REALLY, REALLY value your hard-earned money, want to look your best, but are tired of giving it away to other shops, stop by and see Daniel. I recently rented an Altered Suit for a friends wedding and the suit was awful! It was baggy and long and made me feel like Tom Hanks from the movie big. The quality was sub par, as the dress shirt was paper thin and straight out of a 30s gangster closet. This was the worst experience I had wearing a suit and will never return.

Brought my uniform here after a horrible job at Deerwood Tailor. Daniel was able the fix my uniform in a short timeframe and it fits perfectly now! Definitely a quality tailor, highly recommend!

I have gone to tailors all around the world and have to say Daniel is the best of any tailor I have worked with. Him and his staff are very professional, polite, and timely with their work and Id highly recommend them to anybody.

Definitely would recommend this place for altercations best Tailor in town Ive been to many shops but none like this one there work is A1. Was skeptical about pricing at first but it was worth every penny for the quality work done on my garments will being doing more bussiness with them in the future.

Excellent workmanship, the fit has been perfect every time Ive needed work ( over the last 15 years).

I used them for a few items until they failed to tailor a jacket I left with them for a wedding. Definitely overpriced, but there arent many good alteration options in the area.

This place is a rip-off. Had some minor work done on a sports coat and then when it came time to pay I felt like I got robbed. After the job was done, I went to a couple of other tailors around town and got quoted half the price of the Tailor shop. I guess if youre rich, it pays to go here but if you are middle class or less - stay away!

I wanted to add some suits, shirts, odd trousers, and odd coats to my wardrobe. I went to The Tailor Shop since I have had alterations satisfactorily done there in the past. I was given space to peruse catalogs of fabrics and various designs on display. The tailor, Daniel Motorca, was great giving me input on designs, cloth types, and colors. I placed an order which is being filled in groups. I have now received fourteen shirts and am pleased with every aspect of each. The cut is perfect. Each shirt is fashioned in a way which allows it to be worn either tucked or untucked, collar buttoned or unbuttoned, sleeves buttoned or unbuttoned; with the ability for the sleeves to be rolled up the wrists. Where appropriate, there is a contrast cloth trim on the inside of the cuff, placket and collar. The buttons are MOP. Some of my shirts are worn strictly as dress shirts. Others are worn in various combinations of the previously described options. This construction allows these shirts to be the most functional and versatile shirts I have ever owned. The colors and cloth were each individually selected and are exceptional. The shirts are reasonably priced, especially considering the fit and quality of material and artisanship. For the price I paid, I feel the shirts are an excellent value. I am an athletic fit (Drop 10) with a slim waist. These shirts fit me nicely and still allow plenty of room for movement. Each was cut with an allowance for minor shrinkage from laundering. I am quite happy with the garments. I will review the other items as I receive them. This review is voluntary, I have not been offered, or received, anything for completing it.

Friendly service, skilfully made garments, awesome business!

The gentleman who seems to run this shop is extremely rude, and although his work is great quality and he was able to do what I needed in very short time, his prices are way out of line with every other tailor out there.

Daniel is rude arrogant. He did not keep his words. Very disappointed
