Stopped by one morning for breakfast at Metro Diner. I had heard good things about the location that was previously on Butlers campus, but hadnt made it to the location in Castleton. I had the eggs benedict and a coffee. The food was really quite good and the coffee was always kept full. Overall a very good breakfast. I might recommend just a little less of the hollandaise sauce, but it was easy enough to move aside the extra.

Had dinner which is a completely different experience than in the past! They are trying a new laid-back approach with candlelight and complimentary mini corn muffins. Lights were dimmer and everything!Wife had the apple strudel stuffed waffles (which weren’t stuffed with anything) and I had the Shepherd’s Pie which was good, but I’ve never had celery in it before. Not a fan. Not used to having shepherd’s pie be crunchy. Weird.Overall the experience was fine. Service was good abut then we got the bill. They must be suffering from COVID since they charged us for the drink refills. It added another $5 to our bill! No warning. The portions have been dwindling and with the added refill charge makes it hard for us to go back.

The fried chicken benediction were amazing!! Great food, worth the 45 minute wait

One of the cheapest places for breakfast Ive seen in a while. Food is good, portions are good, staff is friendly and helpful. They tend to get packed so if you go during busy times (brunch on weekends) you will probably wait for a bit.

I got the Mango Habanero Chicken (with home fries and steamed green beans). I was super excited about the mango habanero chicken, but was let down by the moistness of the chicken or lack there of. It was very dried out. But I did like the mango habanero sauce, it was delicious! The green beans were too crunchy and definitely needed cooked longer. The home fries were delicious, cooked nice and tender, and maintained their warmth throughout the meal.My husband got the Western Omelet (hash browns and gluten-free toast). He was satisfied with the temperature and taste of his food.My 4 year old son got the Two Egg Breakfast (scrambled eggs, fruit, bacon, and 2 full slices gluten-free toast cut into 4 triangles). It filled him up nicely with only two triangle slices of toast to go. He said his food was yummy!This visit for me was a huge let down and quite disappointing. Not what any of our past experiences have been at this establishment, but then again this was our first visit to this location (Clearwater Crossing Indianapolis, IN location). Our previous wonderful experiences were at the Fort Wayne, IN location which sadly closed a couple years ago. Not sure well be traveling the 2 hours one way again to eat at the Clearwater Crossing location. Obviously cant expect the same experience at all locations.

The food was soooo delicious 😋. The hostess told us 30 minutes to wait at first then we decided to sit at the bar so was seated expeditiously and placed our order the food was out to us within 15 minutes

Very good customer service. Fast paced environment. We actually were seated at the bar area which was nice. For it to be Fathers day, food came hot and fast.

This location is so busy yet worth the wait. The food was delicious and the mimosa was a bit tart but otherwise on point. Our waitress, Beth was attentive and fun. Thanx for the awesome service girl!!! Most definitely will go again and wait again if necessary.

I visit Metro Diner on 82nd Street every Sunday morning. I do have my favorite server, but all the staff there are great. Eric is the manager there, and he runs a great crew! I havent had a bad experience there yet.

Been to a few Metros in other states. Great food and generous portions. The Metro Diner is a great place to eat. Enjoy!

Great story with this one....my wife and I were in Indy and we took a clothes washer back to the store we bought it from. We stopped at another store to shop for another washer. Asking questions, researching, comparing and not wanting to make the same mistake. Come to find out they dont stock washers....we were tired, hungry and moderately irritated from the expirence. My wife saw the sign for Metro Diner, she said that looks good. We stopped and had a wonderful meal in a great atmosphere super fast and very reasonably priced. Exactly what we needed at that time. My wife had fish and fries and I had a breakfast meal. 😋 Well be back and well bring friends.

I’ve only been to metro dinner twice. My first time was at the location in Greenwood and my second and last time was the castleton location. I order 2 orders of the sticky chicken and waffles. When I tell y’all there was so many feathers on my chicken I couldn’t even eat it. This location needs to make sure they properly clean there chicken before serving it to customers. I’m pretty sure the cooks seen all those feathers because there was so many but they didn’t care they served the food to me anyway. Also 1 out of 2 of my meals the chicken was over cooked and dry and one had sauce and the other didn’t. Very disappointed with metro diner the castleton location to be exact. Not sure if I feel comfortable going back idk what they will serve me next time.

So tasty! I had the chicken parmesan sandwich. Excellent service, with reasonable prices.

The chicken was so tender it fell off the bone and it was fried chicken never seen that before everything was perfect if you go to this place definitely will go again it was an awesome experience the Belgian waffles was so fluffy and Light it was like perfect I had the chicken and waffles

Went here for the first time and had a pretty good meal. The service was friendly and professional. The food quality was good and they have traditional breakfast foods along with some more modern takes on breakfast.

Food is good and breakfast service is generally fast.Disappointed that they were out of gluten-free bread with no alternatives. I visit because of the gluten-free menu items. There were also no corn tortillas or other suggestions for substituting with fruit or tomato slices.

We were traveling and looking for a good place to have breakfast. Metro Diner was the best choice ever! We were very impressed with the ambiance of the diner, and the breakfast was superb. We were delighted with a dish as simple as cheese grits coming out so perfect! The menu choices were excellent, and we each left glad that we had found the diner. We will be back whenever we are in Indy.

My husband and I had our breakfast to go. The staff was very friendly and one. The food that I ordered was a bit subpar. I ordered a chicken and waffles and felt like I would have been better off going to Kroger for the big chicken and going to a local hotel to get waffles from the waffle maker. The Belgium waffle was not special in any way shape or form. The chicken that was fried was dry and with lackluster. The description stated that the chicken was a bit spicy. I was expecting more than just salt and pepper on this fried chicken. My husband ordered this southwestern press. He said that it was okay. But knowing my husband something that is okay is probably good. If I come back to eat here again, wish I wont since I live in texas. I will not get my favorite food items from this location. Im better off ordering something that they specialize in thats different than what I can get everywhere else.

We have ordered from here 6 times in the last two weeks as my 15 yr old daughter was hospitalized and all she wanted was the oatmeal. They have gone above and beyond in terms of customer service and our orders have been perfect every time. They are getting my first ever google review in years and it’s well deserved. Thank you!

Caesar salad and fresh green beans were wonderful. Meatloaf was tasteless. Staff was very friendly. Good place to eat just avoid the meatloaf.

WOWWW!! Where do I began with My experience here at Metro Diner. This spot is EVERYTHING!! I had the best chicken & waffles. And Ive had Roscoes in Long Beach before. The Staff were a Lively & Loveable Crew. The restaurant was cleaned and the atmosphere was so pleasant. I discovered this diner from FOOD NETWORKS DINERS,DRIVE-INS & DIVES WITH GUY FIERA. PLEASE TRY THIS RESTAURANT IF UR IN THE AREA. BEST CHICKEN & WAFFLES EVER!!!

Quick to be seated at around 1130am. Quant little place with a cute environment! The menu is decent but could have more options along with some lower calorie options (salads were more than my chicken sandwhich). Food was decent, the spicy honey buttermilk chicken sandwhich was good but not spicy and their onion rings were yummy too. Pricing was fair. Would go back but not my favorite place. Not a must visit.

Poor quality! I ordered the Strawberry Chicken Avocado salad and It was mostly huge chunks of white lettuce with no nutritional value and just a couple nuts and strawberries. Feta was missing as well. If you charge over $10 for a salad then it should have abundant ingredients and real greens.

Chicken and Waffles were good. We got bone in, which was alot of chicken... Food came out quick!

Quick service, good food. Ordered the vanilla cream flavored coffee with the protein breakfast. The bf ordered the croissant french toast with a side of bacon. The food came out so quick I barely drank my coffee! We were starving so we appreciated the quick service. This little gem is now on our list for brunch places.

Theres hardly anything on the breakfast menu, and I got to the last bite of grits and chewed a decent amount of butter wrapper. Overall the steak bowl was about the best thing I felt they had. Excuse my overdue nails. Alecia ( not sure I spelled it right or not) served GREAT vibes. This review is only reviewing a 3 because I loved her customer service skills. She was really sweet. Need more ppl like her!

TERRIBLE breakfast food!!! The biscuits and gravy I just got was the most BLAND food Ive ever eaten in my whole life. And Im not exaggerating. Gordan Ramsay would have a field day tearing up this kitchen🤣

My Son and I usually have a brkfst date her occasionally because this his his favorite spot😅We order the same order every time and today the chicken tasted a little off so I let our waitress know and the manager(Bill) let us know we would be getting fresh chicken so Bill not only gave us fresh chicken and silverware, but more waffles than my belly could handle lol!!! Wonderful customer service at its finest! Thank you Bill and staff for having such a comfortable awesome place to visit

The food was good and reasonably priced. The portions were healthy and the service was ideal. My family and I had the opportunity to eat breakfast there and everything was more than satisfactory. The staff was polite and helpful during our visit. The chicken and waffles looked great, but there was little to no seasoning on the chicken. Other than that it was good and I would recommend this place for breakfast or lunch to anyone.

Metro Diner has a fun atmosphere and it’s a busy place which I believe says a lot about the place. I got the San Francisco eggs Benedict, which was mediocre at best. It looks delicious, but taste-wise, I’ve had far better eggs Benedict. My brother got the protein plate, which he enjoyed, but was fairly simple and probably not worth the money. It smells amazing in the diner, but next time I go I’ll definitely get something else, like perhaps the pancakes or Belgian waffles. Overall, the experience was mediocre.

I had the Shepherds pie and usually I love it but this was too salty and had a bad aftertaste. Not good at all 😭

When we arrived (a party of 4 elderly women) we were told a twenty minute wait time. I asked if we could sit in their lobby, I was told it was not permitted. By the time I got to my car, which was in a handicap spot right in front of the door. I received a text the table was ready. We were shown to our table. As we were waiting to place our drink order, I looked up and then were people (10 people, young children & adults) sitting in the lobby!? I wonder why they were permitted to wait there & we were not!?! Service at the table & food was great! Even my mimosa was good! BUT OBSERVING SOCIAL DISTANCING WAS A BUST!!!!!

I normally LOVE Metro, but today the eggs were runny. Not just mine (over easy) but my husbands scrambled eggs too. I didnt ruin breakfast, but it was disappointing. Maybe theres a new cook?

Visiting from Ohio and wanted a diner for breakfast. Our waitress LeChelle was phenomenal! She showed us the specials on the blackboard and was attentive to our request. Huge portions for a great price. We order the 2 & 3 egg platters. Definitely will visit again!

Didnt have to wait to long to get seated which was nice for a Satirday. Mimosas were really good, and only $2.99! I do think the price for the food doesnt match up. The scrambled eggs I got were really runny and my toast wasnt even toasted.

The Metro Diner is a bustling, Sunday brunch spot.SEATING & SETTINGThere was a waitlist for a table of two where we left a phone number and they were able to text us when they were ready to seat us. Additionally, we were able to track our place on the waitlist on our phones.The diner has a time period feel, which is exactly what we expected, but the place was well maintained, clean and vibrant.COVID MEASURESMasks are mandatory. They are also doing every other table for seating for help with social distancing. The tables are also wiped down with disinfectant between diners.SERVICEOur waitress was fantastic. She was helpful and full of energy and had a good sense of humor. She checked up on us a few times to make sure we didnt need anything.Food was also served timely.FOOD & DRINKGet their mimosas! Its not just OJ, and you can taste the champagne. I ordered one of their specials: stuffing waffle with chicken and vegetables. It tasted like Thanksgiving, rich and well seasoned!

I was thoroughly surprised!I wasnt expecting much of this place. This was my first visit. Each meal on the menu could easily feed two people. Service was friendly, quick to seat us. Helpful with the menu. And quick to get food to us. The food was awesome.

Simple American menu with good variety. Prices are typical for a diner. $10 and you a decent selection for breakfast and lunch. Atmosphere was busy but not overly noisy. Fortunately, this restaurant appears to be doing business. I heard another MD across town shut its doors for good.

Food and service were good but their were gnats at our table once the food was brought out.

My friends had been recovering I come here. I have some great friends! The food is very fresh and delicious. The chicken and waffles with strawberry butter are the most popular for a good reason. The coffee is ground here and above average.They serve breakfast all day but have other things. I was tempted by a great looking burger.

The food is very good chicken and waffles yes the cook did it’s job but when ordering to go I ordered two chicken and waffles and a kids meal for my daughter the waitress going to tell me it’s for kids under 10 and I’m like ok my daughter is 3 and I ask if they had apple juice the waitress going to tell me oh we stop giving away to go drinks for kids meals drinks to go only dine in so I had to speak with the manager waitress shouldn’t be making up there own rules

Stopped by to tryout the fish fry Friday special and it was delicious. Service by Molly was good but the real star was the fish.

I had a big take out order and the staff was excellent with preparing the food! Kyle was working as a host and stepped in to help his team bag up several to-go orders - while still greeting and thanking every sit-in guest! I was very impressed by their teamwork and excellent customer service.

Great diner with fast service, fresh and tasty food and fantastic pricing. For the portions, quality, and pricing this place cant be beat. We sat at the diner and loved watching the flawless and stress free cooking that they perform. Amazing how quick the food was prepared and how good it tasted. Had the corned beef hash, which is home made and appeared to be pulled on site. Coffee was good. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We will be back when in the area.

Overhyped/overrated. Got the steak breakfast bowl and my partner got cinnamon roll pancakes. Hollandaise tasted like nothing and the steak was weirdly sweet. Cinnamon roll pancakes were undercooked and not hot enough to melt the butter plopped on top. Nothing tasted like it was seasoned. It will keep you from starving to death, but definitely not worth a special trip and no one should ever wait in line to eat there.

Visiting Indy and stopped here, twice! The Mango Ice Tea was just incredibly delicious. The mashed potatoes were so thick and the Pot Roast was to die for. Will most definitely come back when visiting in the future.

What a great experience! We showed up for lunch and we told them it was our first time. Our waitress explained the menu and was fantastic. Shortly after our arrival, there was a water main break near by and they could not supply us water. No issue, but the Manager came by and told us that our experience was less than perfect so he would not be charging us for our lunch. He explained to please come back and give him another try in the future. The food was great and the people were amazing. They went over and above for us. We will be back!

Amazing food, fast and sweet service, and a quaint diner atmosphere. Was visited by Guy Fieri, and I can totally understand why-- its truly TV worthy! I had the famous chicken & waffles with strawberry butter and their syrup mixed with hot sauce. My plate is missing one breast (which they brought out soon after)-- they give you a HALF CHICKEN. Come hungry!
