My husband and I came in here about 2 weeks ago and the 2 women who worked here were so nice and extremely helpful. We ended up getting the 3 room group. They explained everything thoroughly. The prices were great. Customer service outstanding. I would definitely recommend friends and family to shop here.
Well, Im not really sure how I should rate this store but my phone asked me too for Google so going to give this a shot. First let me say my low rating IS NOT because of the staff but more for the store itself. My aunt got some really pretty furniture here a couple of months ago and said their prices were good. I need to get a new living room set before some family comes in this weekend so I stopped by there today. When I went in a young tall girl came and greeted me. Now Im not someone who even pays attention to appearances much I couldnt help that this poor girl looked SO hot and literally had sweat dripping down the sides of her face. It hadnt dawned on me yet that I felt absolutely NO difference in temperature from the outside to when I walked into the store but it sure did within a matter of minutes. It was about 90 degrees in this place! I asked the girl if they even have air conditioning and she apologized for the heat and told me that the air conditioners run but do not cool the store - OBVIOUSLY. I felt like I was at an outside furniture market, and if I wanted to deal with this heat thats exactly where I would be. I asked when it was getting fixed because I would just come back and get my things then; assuming it would logically be in the next day or two with the heat like this. I mean, who in the world would leave their store this freaking hot on purpose, right?! THE OWNER OF ROOMZ FURNITURE. She said that she had worked there for five years and it had been like this nearly the entire time, but just keeps getting worse, if thats even possible. When I asked to speak with the owner she said he owns Major Furniture and primarily spends his time there. Probably not 90 in there. The girl just apologized again and asked if there was something I would like to see and offered to show me around but I was completely honest - there was no chance of me staying in that store and buying anything with the heat that way. I dont know who would and its a real shame because the stuff actually looked cute from what I saw and obviously their staff is friendly and attentive. I just couldnt last in there another minute though. I dont know what kind of employer has their people work in these conditions, but its not a very good one. Its not even humane. He should consider himself lucky that someone even stayed with him that long if thats how he treats them. I wont be coming back and most definitely wont be going to Majors!
Im sorry to say that I would love to give this a negative number of stars, but seeing as how this is impossible, I will have to settle for just 1 star.We walked into Roomz the day after Christmas, after having left 3 other furniture stores. The associates at these other places were far too pushy, so it was a relief to walk in to a kind hello and a let me know if theres anything you need. We picked our furniture, paid, and it was delivered next day.Unfortunately, from the bedroom set we ordered (headboard, 1 nightstand, dresser and mirror) everything except for the mirror was damaged. We immediately called the lady and told her, and she said she would re-order the furniture ASAP.We were told it would take 6-8 weeks for our furniture to come in, so we waited. after 9 weeks, I called them and we received an excuse saying they didnt get our furniture due to the ice and to call back in 2 weeks.I did, and got an I forgot, Ill do it now and call you back when I found out when it will be here2 weeks later still no call. From the day we received our broken furniture, we waited about SIX MONTHS to receive our set.I finally called about 3 weeks ago and was told they would order it asap, and was supposed to receive the furniture last week. I got a call the day of saying that, rather than put it in the back where other furniture could possibly bump into it, they put it on the floor where passersby could mess with it. And someone did. Someone had apparently carved a heart into the dresser, and so, since she didnt want to send me broken furniture again, she called to get a re-order.I got my furniture to, finally, and upon inspection, found that once again, we received broken furniture. The nightstand has a scratch on the top drawer, and the headboard is bowed and coming apart.I will never recommend this place to another person until the woman in charge right now is out of the management position.
Dont go in here if you actually want help. My husband and I went in here twice last week to look for a new bedroom set (2nd time I was alone). At first it seemed okay enough. There was a young girl who greeted us right away even though she was with a customer and it looked like maybe helping some men who worked there @ the same time. So we walked around and got to the back of the store only to find another woman behind her desk sound asleep! (Old with brown hair and kind of on the heavy side in case more people work there). We walked by her twice and she had no idea we were even there! If not for the other girl we couldve walked right out with the furniture we wanted, not that I EVER would. So anyway we looked around and left. THEN I come back alone a second time the same week. The young girl wasnt there this time but the old lady was behind her desk again this time but on a cell phone. After I had already been in there for quite some time she kind of shouted hello from her desk across the store instead of getting up and said shed be right there, and then instead just stayed on her phone. I got so tired of waiting that I just left and went to someone who actually wanted to sell me some furniture. And it made me mad because I actually did like one of the bedrooms. Figuring with the age difference between the two workers that the old lady is the manager but I they may want to rethink that because it looks like without the girl there youd just get ignored. My advice to Roomz - promote the kid. My advice to customers - just go to Furniture Fair.
Went in there with my mother in law yesterday (08/07/18) and a sweet older lady named Janice greeted us from her desk with a smile and a warm welcome. We told her we wanted to look around on our own and would let her know if we needed any help. She let us take all the time we needed. When we were ready, she came with us to look at the couch and recliner we wanted (for those complaining here that she didn’t get up to greet you, she had a walker and mentioned she was treating her leg to prevent surgery. That didn’t bother us none, instead, I applaud her for fighting thru and still working!) When I saw that she had a walker, I told her she could sit and I would bring her the furniture stock numbers so she could work from her desk but she insisted that this was her job and was determined to walk with us to show us the reclining features of the set. She gave us an amazing deal at the floor set and before we left we visited the clearance room and she gave us another amazing deal at a daybed and mattress that was too good to pass up! They delivered our future the same day (the delivery gentleman are true professionals and very kind as well!!!) and after we got home we realized that we needed nightstands. We went back today (08/08/18) in the hopes of dealing with Janice again but she wasn’t there, her granddaughter Victoria was. At first we were disappointed Janice wasn’t there but we quickly got over it with Victoria’s professionalism and carisma! She was so professional and very sweet, smiled the entire time and immediately dropped what she was doing and gave us her undivided attention and walked us to the set we wanted, helped us find one within our price range, and yet again gave us another unbeatable deal on the set! Before we left Janice called to speak to her granddaughter and when she told us we were back, she asked to speak to us and greeted us over the phone and thanked us for our business and was so sweet and kind, you cannot make a customer feel more special than this! From now on, we will go to Roomz first before we go anywhere else in Jacksonville. We highly recommend this place, the staff is professional and kind, we shopped around at other stores and NO ONE had the same leather mocha reclining couch set that my mother in law was specifically looking for, and not only that, the prices are unbeatable. Please ignore the bad reviews, these are great people who will really take care of you!!!
I have visited roomz several times and Im from out of state to furnish a home here with Bargin items. I was treated with respect and the store manager in charge was sincere about helping me find the items we needed. Very pleased with services and items that we purchased.
If I could leave negative reviews I absolutely would. The first time i came into the store I spoke with an older lady who was showing me the rooms that were included in the 3 rooms deal. I picked out what I liked, but she wouldnt give me a price because she said she would have to write up official paperwork and since i wasnt buying that day she didnt want to do that. So i came back 3 days later and spoke with Victoria, the young blonde, and she told me that bedroom and living room set I had chosen were in fact not included in the 3 rooms deal. She apologized saying the older lady was her grandma and gave me $100 off of my mattress because of the mix up. So I put the items on layaway and and had my grandpa go to pick them up this weekend. Well we get the furniture to the house and half of the bedroom set was completely wrong and my dining room table was scratched and dented. So i called Victoria and she was making excuses saying that the guys moving my stuff were rushing and that she had been running around to other stores and she said she would either refund me my $154 in taxes or give me store credit. So my husband goes to get our taxes refunded and she only gives him $50 and told him it was because she gave us $100 off on the mattress. So i have been trying to call all day and no one answered my calls so I called from my husbands phone and the older lady answered and said Victoria wasnt there. So a few minutes later Victoria called my husbands phone and I answered and asked her why she only gave us $50, because $100 was taken off of the mattress because of her grandmothers mistake and she said she gave me $100 off to be nice and give good customer service and had gotten yelled at by her boss, the manager of the store. So i asked for the managers number and she refused to give it to me because apparently the manager of the store doesnt deal with customers. So instead of giving me my taxes back she tried giving me store credit and i told her no because I was not going to be going back there. So definitely beware of this location! This is ridiculous!UPDATE:Called Majors Furniture store to see if they would let me talk to the manager since he owns both places, was unable to but Paula helped get the situation resolved and I am being refunded $125 (on top of the $50 already refunded).
BUYER BEWARE...Do NOT purchase from ROOMZ located at 2109 Lejune Blvd.We purchased a table from this store. When getting it home one chair was missing hardware and the table was broke. We went back to the store they gave us the hardware for the chair and took the table back telling us they would order us a new one. In the mean time they let us take the scratched floor model in its place until a new one came in. 2 months later...call after call I kept getting told I would get a call back. Today the sales person who sold it to me - Victoria said they will order the broken part of the damaged table and put it together and we could come pick it up. That was NOT what was agreed on. 2 months and they still did not order the table. So we paid full price for a scratched floor model. Do NOT do business with this company. We should have known this as when we were looking at furnishing the whole house we were given 2 different prices for the same things.
Have shopped in here for a few odds and ends for my place they usually have great prices and the employees are awesome and always helpful.
We havent even paid off our furniture yet and its already chipping! A drawer to our dresser came damaged the day it was delivered and we were told it would be written down and taken care of. We called Roomz, and they didnt even know what we were talking about, and we still havent heard back from them! I do not recommend this place AT ALL!!
I would give a negative review but it wont let me.I walk into the store 20 minutes earlier talk to the lady and was pretty fine. 20 minutes after that I brought my husband with me and she ignored us while on the phone with a personal call talking about how she was going to quit or someone wanted her to quit. While we are trying to walk out of the store she was yelling from the desk saying hello in a very annoying tone so we ended up waiting another 5 to 10 minutes and then ended up leaving tried to call to get to talk to The actual owner of the store and she said we had to go through with her and I told her that my problem was with her and she gave excuse of why she couldnt get off the phone!ridiculous and never will go back!!!
Ive been into Roomz a few times over the last couple of months and the women in there are always so nice and patient with me. I am beyond excited to close on my house and furnish the house with Roomz Furniture!!!
Didn’t buy anything here, but once we walked in we were greeted with rudeness and was “too busy” to help my family out. And when I asked about the financing options, I just got blown off. Don’t go here unless you want to be treated like trash.
We didnt end up getting what we wanted. One of the employees wasnt all there. She was friendly but didnt really understand what was going on.
