The owner was super nice! And their mtg bulk is amazing. Not a lot of cards but if you want bulk I recommend, or just to look around.
Awesome place, not as big as selection as CM games but the service is far superior. Corey, hes a manager I think, is super cool.
I visited Knoxville this weekend because I am likely to move here soon, and wanted to get a tour of the 4-5 local game stores. Our conclusion: Level Up isn’t the biggest or most impressive store, but it was the store with the most heart and best attitude. It was the only store in which the owner and employees greeted us and took an interest in both our business and having us in the community. Even the other gamers there were inviting right away, which is another great indication. It’s just a first impression. But if we do move here, we’ll give Level Up the first crack at being our store. It has the goods and the right attitude. And if our experience was typical, it won’t be small for long.
Has always been a great place to grab any card singles you need or just to hangout and talk about anything nerdy! Dont waste your time at somewhere like cm games when you can come here
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great pricing with a wide selection.
Austin was great to work with on my order! I will be back for more in the future!
1st time in this card shop. It was very well organized. If you were looking for a specific card, all you had to do was let them know. They are also competitively priced.Keep up the awesome work!
These are good people, honest people who provide quality services and a positive environment for gamers.
This is a great place to go for games of all varieties.
Excellent customer service! My son made a list of cards he would like for Christmas and the guys at Level Up took care to help gather up all of the cards that would fit within my budget. Will happily recommend and support this small business again!
Good clean store. Great prices also!
Its a very well-stocked store, if you are into miniatures painting or Magic The Gathering cards (stacks of opened boxes of cards in the front window). It also has quite a few 5E publications. But if you are interested in any other facet of RPGs, you should probably look elsewhere (although the proprietor MAY be able/willing to do special orders; I did not ask).As to how to get there . . . no matter from which direction you approach, Google wants to direct you onto the service lane which circles behind the Market Place Mall buildings. I suspect this is a legacy from the beforetimes, intended to avoid traffic during peak shopping periods. If you follow Googles suggested route, you will end up at a row of employee parking spaces between two of the mall buildings. Level Up is in the left building (from this backward perspective) and the second door down. NOTE: Their actual sign is located over the THIRD door down, but that is the entrance to their (still-closed) tabletop gaming room.
Shop owner was friendly and prices were better than other local game stores. Should be your first stop for MTG in knoxville.
Cant get my husband to stop going. They have a Facebook and are generally quick to respond
Great selection of cards and super knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Walked in here after not playing magic for like 10 years. I told the guy at the counter I just started playing about a week and a half ago and he said welcome back. That made my day. Top notch place and really cool people.
Awesome great customer service... definitely worth going to. Good selection. They can get all your geeky stuff.
The prices are amazing. The people are amazing. They know everything about magic. You could never ask for a more personable and flexible staff. They are by far the best store in town and blow CM games out of the freaking water. The owner Steve is amazing. The short guy with the really big beard Cory is amazing. I forgot the other tall guys name with the beard but hes awesome. And then theres this one guy whos just salty cuz faithless looting got banned from modern.
I was greeted by friendly staff that were very knowledgeable and helpful with answering my questions. I felt comfortable and not pressured the way I sometimes do in unfamiliar stores.
Corey and Natasha are the best. We came in from out of town to check the local gaming scene. Corey knows his stuff and made my kids smile. He will even ship games to us in California. They just gained a new customer for life.
I was there about a week ago, stopped by the place with a friend while we were hanging out in there in Knoxvegas lol. Dude named Roderick that worked there gave me the hookup on some MtG.I mentioned that i hadnt played it in years but was wanting to get back into it. I told him what kind of colors i used to play (White/Green/Red) & the kind of decks i used to like playing & he pointed out some things that could be useful and some stuff that i should be on the lookout for. Bought some pre-mades and some boosters.Dude was legit helpful. Definitely will be coming back next time im in the area. Make sure you keep him, hes cool. hahaha
Great guys in this place. Definetly a must see for TCG enthusiasts.
I come here a lot for cards. My boyfriend loves coming here for booster packs and random cards for his decks since the prices end up being so much better than the other stores we look at. The staff are wonderful!
Great local game store. Friendly staff and great products.
I could always find a good game here. Having moved away form the area I miss some of the camaraderie. I now live far away and closer to my new gaming place but the camaraderie is not the same.
Cool card shop. Ample playing room. And their Wednesday Night draft was happening. 16 people were there. And every game was a fine game of Magic.
The staff is very helpful and quick to offer selections. They seem fairly knowledgeable and friendly.
Love it!! We never had a MTG community until moving to the Knoxville area. My husband and I have gotten into draft and league over the last month thanks to Level Up. I love that its fun and casual, and no one takes anything too seriously outside of big time events. Everyone loves to help you learn how to play better and make the experience fun. Prices are great. Staff are cool and knowledge. Players are respectful and friendly. 👌 If you enjoy MTG, hands down the best value weve found in the area.
This is what a LGS is supposed to be. The staff is friendly, engaging, and most importantly helpful. They are a small shop, so they wont always have what you are looking for (specific MTG singles), but they do have a good selection of standard and modern staples. Their RPG and board game selection is good as well. They have plenty of supplemental supplies as well (deck protector, card sleeves, play mats, dice, miniature, etc.). I dont even live in the same city anymore, but Im willing to drive here for my gaming supplies.
Good inventory, fair prices and great staff!
Had a great experience here. The employees and the patrons were all very friendly and the store was so well stocked I could hardly take it all in. I highly recommend stopping by if you have a chance.
Hands down my favorite game store. Everyone who works here has always been super friendly to me and are always willing to help! I really appreciate the atmosphere as well. While visiting some game stores patrons have made me feel uncomfortable, but I have never had that problem here!
Very friendly staff and found everything we wanted.
Good selection of tabletop games and supplies. The adjacent space to the shop also provides plenty of room for Magic games or D&D tables (depending on the schedule of Magic tournaments and such).
Nice store. I got some good dnd stuff here. Liked the fella working but I didnt get his name. Ill be back.
Walked into the store with my bf a couple of days ago to buy board games. The prices were a little high and the employee with the glasses wasnt helpful . Normally I would give my experience a 1 star, but what made the trip worthwhile was Steven makes the best parfaits Ive ever had. Totally made my visit amazing
Awesome place. Everything you need for your nerdy hobbies like D&D, MTG, table top games even video games. The staff is nice and helpful. Only wish they had a bigger selection for D&D and video games, seems like they mostly deal with magic. But that is a small complaint compared to how pleased I was with my experience here.
Did not correct their own mistakes, cost me more money I did not have to spend. Wont be buying again here.
Im not very familiar with this type of shop so I cant compare, but I rate five stars from that context: where one might imagine a stereotypical Comic Book Guy who deigns to help you out if youre not already an expert on these games and such, the store workers were very friendly when I said I was a total newbie looking to buy something for my kids. Friendly, courteous, seemingly well-stocked, works for me.
The name of this store and its focus is kind of askewed: The is little to no Dungeon & Dragon or Pathfinder product or accessories. And the only other theme a player would level up from is video games, which is just as bad of selection. There are a few demo tabletop & card games to try out in the room next door... only to find out vital pieces & cards were missing from Pixel Fight & Bang! Most of this store focuses in profit of Magic: The Gathering cards. More troubling is the fact that if you know the exact name of any card from that franchise, they have to look it up... even if it right underneath their glass counter. I am surprised they dont inventory their stock. I am disappointed.
Loved coming here. The gamers are great and friendly. The staff are awesome. They even stream a game or two during the week! I loved coming here and will definitely come again
Love coming here for Cards!! The staff is always patient and helpful. Its always nice to come here to browse too!
I spend far too much time and money at the store, but Level Up is a great place to be. I play Magic: The Gathering and the community for the store is decently large. In addition to Magic, I see several other groups that come to play such as Force of Will, Pathfinder, and other board games. The owner, players, and staff are all great, and I would recommend this store to anybody.
Good location for DnD and trading cards. Staff little pushy to recommend products when you are a beginner. Overall good experience though.
This review is from a Magic: The Gathering perspective. This is a great local gaming store for Magic. They have appealing features for whatever style of Magic you play, competitive or casual or a mix of both. The staff as well as the community is very helpful and friendly, unlike other local gaming stores that I have played at nearby. I would strongly encourage any Magic player to check out their daily events and come by sometime.
*Update - I received my bonus last week. Was going to buy 2 cases of Ikoria (12 boxes,) to celebrate. I wont be supporting my local LGS in Knoxville. Storefronts scamming customers out of promos is one of the reasons why people hate storefronts. Hopefully this will help another collector not make the same mistake I did.I came at noon on release day of Theros, Beyond death, purchased 681$ worth of merchandise and they will not give me buy a box promos. We ran out, at noon, on release day. Sounds to me like they are keeping them to sell as singles, but that is just speculation. I will not shop here again.*Note added after the stores response: If your store is going to hold back on 80$ worth of merchandise, merchandise that should be included with a purchase, you should notify the customer before they make a NON REFUNDABLE $700 PURCHASE. I have notified Wizards of the Coast about your stores behavior. They probably wont care, but I let them know. It was release day. You are acting like the store in the mall, I tried to buy an overpriced $500 box of UMA, when the clerk opens the booster box and takes the box topper out. I will not spend my money at your establishment.
THE place in Knoxville the play either the Magic the Gathering card game or Dungeons and Dragons. Great support for board games and other role playing and card games too.The staff is always super fair with prices... Youd think that should be a given, but this is a very rare second hand card shop that wont rip off a customer.
Stoped in for a draft while visiting Knox. Great LGS good selection of singles.
Great store for magic the gathering and tabletop rpgs. Nice selection of board games and video games as well. Employees are helpful.
Great staff. Seriously. Accomodating and friendly. Great selection if board game, MTG Singles, boosters for TCGs, etc. Their play area has decent space and their special events are worth attendance.
Have played Adventure League here. Staff has always been friendly a nice place to visit. We always enjoy gaming here
Dont be fooled by their website stating We specialize in vintage and new video games. What they really mean is we specialize in Magic the Gathering with a few game selections. I couldnt even view the playstation 1 games because they have them hanging on the wall behind the counter. Not sure about all their prices but they were asking $10 for 2 sports games you can get for $2 anywhere else in Knoxville. If your looking for video games make this your last resort.
Great environment for Magic, D&D, Force of Will, Adventurers League, etc. The store owner comes in often, and everyone remembers my name. Very friendly local game store. Good selection for video games and board games as well.
Great local game store. Has large selection of board and card games, extremely friendly staff, and dedicated ownership.
Good prize support and enough playing room to make it worth it.
Nice little game store. Could have a better selection but it is a nice space with a good crowd.
Good customer.
Best hobby shop around, hands down. Much more competent and friendly staff than other places, and a decent selection for its size.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff are always willing to help when I have questions and make sure I get the best deal.
These guys are great!
Always a great place to game!
Friendly staff and players. I am a MTG player.Recently renovated, like the new look. Great place for casual player.
It was the best store I have ever been too
Went shopping for miniatures and while they didnt have everything I wanted, they had a lot of it and were knowledgeable about my chances of getting them out of the manufacturers lottery boxes they did sell.
Great people, good selection amazing price highly recommend.
Dont go here looking for retro games.Abusively overpriced. Ex: Trying to sell a loose N64 Kirby for $50. Two stars instead of one because I think they just dont know what theyre doing rather than consciously trying to rip folks off.
Great peopl. They always have what I want, or know how to get it.
I love the Tuesday night casual commander play
Limited selection but very friendly and supportive staff. Will price match online offers and are good about distributing promo items.
Great place and love the staff they are so helpful and nice
Natural 20 when rolling for best D and D shop in knoxville.
Great selection of D&D minis at the same prices as anywhere online, usually cheaper if you factor in shipping.
Stephen is the best game and card dealer Ive ever done business with!
Loved it in the beginning but things went down hill from there. Great idea for a store just wished it lived up to the billing.
Helpful staff, a place to play mtg, really good selection on site.... not much more you can ask for from a cardshop
Seemed like a cool place but the customer service was kinda bland.
Best LGS Ive ever been to. Feels like a solid community, and proud to call it my gaming store of choice.
Helpful, knowledgeable staff with decent selection. Very inviting and has an active community of players.
Love the store and what they carry. Unfortunately I went to the Pokemon Pre Release and the the whole thing felt terrible. They did Pack battle that sucked the whole fun out of it. While playing the pre realese and the guy who was running it won so lol he gets all the prize packs, felt really rigged and ripped off. He gave everyone a pack except for my 6 year old son. Really bad experience. Going to the Mall from now on. :(
Friendly people great prices and usually have what Im looking for really like this place
With a fun-loving and knowledgeable staff, coupled with a good community and low prices, Level Up is the only place in Knoxville to get your gaming products while having a great time doing it.
Better prices than cm games.
Friendly, knowledgeable, an assortment of games, and TCG singles, mostly Magic, the Gathering ™.
Great Staff and friendly atmosphere for gaming and other hobbies
I gave Level Up 1 More chance and Got better customer service
Great video game store for retro and modern video games.
Its a small storefront, but they have a separate room set up to play all kinds of tabletop and card games
Cool place, had the game i was looking for.
Great deals and friendly staff.
Ok if you want Magic cards, or to play a tournament. Selection of games was mediocre and small. I would look elsewhere first.
Fun place to place D&D Adventures League
Friendly and helpful staff
If your looking for MTG go no further this is the place!
Love these guys.
Very friendly and helpful.
Store is supposed to open at 12 its now 12:15 and still not open. Made a trip over here for nothing. Hard to take any business serious if they cant even uphold to the hours of operation.
Best Game Store
Very friendly staff. They have expanded since Ive been in last.
Everyone is very nice
Friendly atmosphere
