Almost 900$ and my car has the same problem it had before I had repair service.

The entire company as a whole is fantastic. From the mechanics to the receptionist, I felt very they were honest, up front and clear about everything. Ive had two very inconvenient problems occur with my vehicle this past year & every time they were quick to help diagnose, quote accurately, and fix my vehicle in a very timely fashion. Being a nanny means I work well before and after business hours, however, they were more than happy to accommodate me.

Honest and professional service, Dean is a great mechanic and the staff always tries to address the customer needs. I strongly recommend them ! This place is owned by two women, their mission is to provide honest professional service, without feeling like you being taken advantage of, if you are a woman, you wont be ripped off, I guarantee that they will take of all your automotive repair needs.Had an oil change done on 6-25 -19, it was done quickly and efficiently, came away satisfied. 🙂🙂👍👍

Ive been bringing my car to Capital City Automotive for over 15yrs. DEAN is the best mechanic Ive ever met, he is efficient and honest in repairing your auto, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and they run their business with integrity and honesty, they not RIP you off with needless repairs, so come visit them, and you will leave a satisfied customer.

I have had them do work on 4 different cars I have owned over the last two years and have had no complaints. They have done a good quality job at a fair price, and I have never had to go back for the same problem a second time. They are friendly and courteous, they do good work and I recommend them to my friends.

Love this place very helpful staff and honest

Very friendly people, a little out of the way and not super easy to find. Gave me a free safety inspection on a truck I bought and an estimate on the repairs needed. The parts prices were almost double what I found them for on Amazon and the total seemed quite high. I dont think they were being dishonest, just a typical repair shop. The are a woman owned business and I would like to support them but I just could not afford the prices. The person gave me a 100 dollar coupon but off nearly three thousand dollars it was not much incentive.

Extremely helpful, timely, kind and affordable. I would honestly trust no one else with my car.

Disappointed the staff. I called for prices for a simple rotor and brake pad job and she gave me the wrong prices. I tried to verify if that was the correct price and she hung up with me. I won’t give her any of my business nor will I suggest her to anyone else.

My first experience here was positive, so second time around I felt like I could trust them to be fair. Only now do I realize how foolish I was when I agreed too quickly to have them work on my car. They took a long time fixing my car because they ordered the wrong parts, and never called to apologize. I had to keep following up with them to get a status on the repair progress. It took them days to replace a muffler. After I got the car home it bothered me how expensive the parts seemed, so I checked out prices for the parts and discovered they charged me 3x markup. I thought I had a mechanic I could trust...Update 2 months later:After being notified of this review the owner called to gain a deeper understanding of my bad review. She could not find any record of the repair, so she requested I fax her a copy. Upon receiving my fax she apologized for the level of service I received, but was adamant that the price was not high. (Which I still dont believe. $130 for a muffler I can see costs $35 at AutoZone?) She argued and argued with me until I accepted her explanations. I dont feel any better, and I am so done with all of this.

Ive been going here for years. I send my family and friends here as well. Lived in lansing for 25 years and i wouldnt take my vechiled anywhere else. Dean is a top notch mechanic.

Capital City Automovtive is one of the most honest, family run organizations I have ever encountered. When I took my car in for a broken headlight, they told me that the housing needed replacing and that the part was very expensive. Rather than just tell me that and expect me to pay it...which I couldnt...they went way out of their way to find me a much cheaper alternative. I came on here to write this today and read the other review. I dont know what happened with that guy but I had THE EXACT OPPOSITE experience. I also think that it shows real concern for customers that the owner was willing to address negatives. They have a customer for life in me.

If I could rate this company with no stars, I would!I had the rear frame redone by this company with assurances from Ann that my rear swaybar linkages would be replaced - we actually discussed it - during the work that they did and that the price quoted to me included that. They had my car for about a month for a job that I was told would take 1 week. But I and my family were patient. We wanted it done right - according to Ann, we didnt want to rush a job like this, we want to make sure its done right. I was informed that the work was being done off hours on the weekend by someone so it wasnt work that fell into their regular hours, which seemed odd. But I decided to trust. When I went to pick up the car after several phone calls asking about the status, I inspected the work and found that the rear swaybar was missing a linkage and that the other linkage was the original and severely rusted. So, I told the mechanic that this was included in the price and that Ann had assured me it was going to be done. He said that theyd order the part and call me when it was in and it was easy to quickly put on. I would just have to drive back up and hed finish the work. I write this on the invoice and pay it. One week goes by, no call. Two weeks go by, no call. Im pretty busy so figured Id get around to calling them soon. I had to drive to New Hampshire recently, and I had a loud whining hum coming from the car. The car was inspected and they found that the rear differential box was nearly empty of fluid and that there was no leak of any kind. They said that it had been drained but not filled up and that its very likely since no one else has serviced my car that the last folks in doing the rear frame replacement work forgot to fill it when he was completed with the job. I had been running on nearly empty for at least a month under duress on a journey to New Hampshire with an almost dry gearbox. Its all damaged. I also had the one missing linkage replaced on my own by this same shop. So I called Capital City Auto finally (3/11/2015) but had to leave a message with someone there about the lack of linkages and the damage from the diff. fluid. No call backs. I have got to say this is the shadiest, lousiest, downright criminal business I have ever dealt with. A bunch of liars and cheats who will take every opportunity to screw you over and take your hard-earned money. Im am still going to pursue whatever further actions I can take legally to see that justice is done.

Had work done on a 95 deville, brake lines re ran, when redoing the abs controller, they unscrewed and damaged an oil line to the radiator which now leaks tons of oil, do not go here for your business. They are expensive and unprofessional.
