THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!Left work to find one tire had low pressure - 9psi. After stopping by closest gas station to find air was out of order, I headed to find next gas station when I came by Lentz. I stopped to see if they might be able to put air in my tire so I could get to St Johns Budget Tire to get it checked out. They had me pull right up to a door to put air in the tire. No waiting either. Was enough to get me to tire place to get nail out and hole plugged.Very impressed with the fast friendly help. I want to thank you guys so much for helping me.Thanks again!!

I went in with grinding brakes an hour from close. They brought it right in - told me I wont let anyone drive on bad brakes. Quoted a fair price, got me new brakes & back on the road within an hour. Thanks, guys!

Ive been going to Lentz for as long as Ive been driving a car. Rick is awesome! Even when he has bad news regarding my vehicle, he still makes me laugh and makes a bad day a little lighter. Several years ago I requested some extensive muffler work and he told me it wasnt worth it. He said my vehicle is a junker and I should save my money for a new vehicle. He was right! My junker died its final death several months later and Im glad I didnt spend all that extra money on services I really didnt need. Nobody ever looks forward to vehicle repairs, but I know Lentz will take good care of me when I need them.

My exhaust broke while driving to work yesterday. I was able to get in and out in an hour. I was expecting to be there a few hours so I was impressed. As a women, I worry about staff being pushy and trying to up-sell services. They did not do this at all and made me feel comfortable the whole time.

Unsatisfied Customer- Lentz Auto Repair. I had been hearing an annoying warping noise coming from the rear of my vehicle. It sounded like riding a bike with a bent rim. I took it it Lentz Auto Repair on Larch St for a diagnosis. Needless to say I received a laundry list of things that SUPPOSEDLY needed to be repaired. Thinking the repairs would resolve the problem and noise I was hearing, I went ahead an agreed to the repairs. Well $950 later and not even getting one block from Letz, the noise is still there. I called immediately while going home (I didn’t have time to turn around and take it back). I explained to the shop manager, Rick, that I was still hearing the same noise. He asked that I bring it back, I did the very next day and again a third time. The third time Mike diagnosed my vehicle and even drove with me so that I could point out the noise I was hearing. Mike heard the noise almost immediately and said he would take yet another look. I get a call and they claimed they took everything apart that was initially repaired and they could not identify the noise. By this time I did some online research on my own and figured it was the wheel bearing. My husband had been saying this as well and I told both Rick and Mike, they both claimed they checked the wheel bearings and couldn’t find anything loose or making noise. They suggested I take my vehicle to a tire shop because the rim was slightly bent and that could be causing the noise. I took it to Belle Tire by Frandor, explained the noise. A couple hours later they called and told me my wheel bearings needed to be replaced, another $356. I agreed to the repairs. After the repair the noise was gone. I drove my vehicle for 3 more days to be sure the noise was gone, and sure enough it was. I called Lentz and told them it was the wheel bearings and I had to spend additional money for a problem I paid them to repair. Rick couldn’t understand how Belle Tire was able to diagnose the problem that he supposedly checked out and confirmed it wasn’t the problem. He offered me an apology and a $80 synthetic oil change. $80! ARE YOU SERIOUS! Ideclined and told them that obviously they are not trained to properly diagnose vehicles and I will not be returning to them and I will be doing a review every place I can.

I give them 5 stars there has been several times I needed help and they were there fir me.. Not only helped me out but were friendly. They were concerned with if I could afford it... They didnt try to get me to buy something to be done I didnt need to be done... Try them Im sure you will find the same .. Found them through my son that he wanted someplace he could trust to put his mother in their hands to take care of my car. Im happy that I went .. Thank you Lentz

Always bring my cars here when I have one.. I always reccomend my friends and family to bring their cars here :) the people are great, Mike and Rick really make you feel informed and do excellent work clearly based off of their many many many many many many years of experience. The grey in there beards really lets you know what they are doing (or else they’d be black from all the oil they’d dump on themselves) mike will hang the straightest exhaust you’ve seen since your high school football teams shower room.

Prices were higher than I had hoped but a small discount was offered. Glad to be noise free with my new muffler! Thank you.

I have used this shop for years. The manager has always been fair and honest. They have done and oil change and checked out other things on my car and Told me I may need this or that but if I cant afford to fix it thats my problem. What some people do not understand is you not only pay for parts but for labor when you get something fixed. Looking around for the best deal is not a crime but charging for quality work done by a professional isnt either. If you want quality work done go to Lentz, if you dont want to spend that much go find yourself another shop/mechanic so they can fix it improperly that way you can spend more money to fix the same problem a few weeks later.

VERY impressed! My childrens car was making a squeaking noise...thought we might need new brake pads. They performed a free brake inspection, and told us that the pads were in great shape. I appreciate their honesty. I will certainly be contacting Lentz for all future repairs of cars!

Brought our car here to replace a thermostat. The dealer quoted $800 and Lentz did it for $499. Plus they were super nice and helpful.

Got my vehicle in when promised. Had parts in stock and finished the job at the promised time. First time in years Ive had quick and complete service from an auto repair shop. Price was slightly higher than expected but you get what you pay for. Good experience.

Anywhere else in Lansing is a better choice, period. They work on a bait and switch philosophy that could almost be viewed as criminal. I took my vehicle here for a $69.95 alignment and was told that after looking at it, they would not be able to perform this service because the truck needed additional work. No problem I said, I would have a relative do the other work and would bring it back to be aligned. It was at this point I was told they would not release the truck until I paid for the alignment they were not able to perform. How can I owe for a service they told me they were not able to complete? Rick, the manager does not belong in the customer service industry. His attitude enough is good reason to do business elsewhere. I dont mind paying a fair price for a fair service, but this place is highway robbery. Next time Ill go to Belle Tire where I have never been treated unfairly.

This place is a rip off. They will charge you like crazy if you go here. I hope they can read this. If you want do a business, and you charge more than other places. Do you think the customers will come back or refer a friend to you guys ?? I dont think so. We are willing to pay it they you charge too much, but we will never come back again. Thats why you want to make a good business, dont try to be a rip off when a person is in state or out of state to bring the car here to fix. I never bring my car to this area again in my life. I got bad news on the extensiveness of the repairs needed, but unlike some of the reviews here I am not going to shoot the messenger. Next time I buy a car for $1,800 I will spend an extra $45 and take it here for an examination first,

After being told I was getting A muffler and a tailpipe I discovered they didnt replace tailpipe but still charged me for it. Beware!

Rick has earned my trust and takes time to explain the why of each estimate. The techs are great too. I recommend this shop to all my friends and drive from across town to get my car serviced here.

Ive had 3 successful trips to Lentz. They have tried to convince me I needed more work than necessary, but I wont let it happen. What I come there for is all I will let them fix. Once they actually repaired damage done by another shop, complimentary. I like this place. Unfortunately, I also wish they were cheaper. Call around to make sure youre getting the best for your buck.

This place is not honest. I went here once to do oil change and they told me to change this and that...My car was new...and I bought to the dealer and they told me nothing wrong with the car. This place is not honest at all. I never go here again. If theyre honest then they get the customers..if u want to get money from customer? u get only once but they never come back. Recently took my 08 F-type for servicing since i didnt want to drive to the Detroit area for service. The manager was very fair about the services and explained everything he was having done to tune up my car. Runs just as well as the day i drove it off the lot.

I went here to have my car diagnosed and, he was so upfront and honest im from California he told me that my car had a recall on it so i was able to take it to the Chevrolet dealership and, they fixed it for free thank you so much. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Just Terrible!. I wanted to get my SUV struts checked out, i went to the counter, before i even asked about anything, The bald middle aged guy behind the desk mistook me for a crack cocaine dealer. he asked me if i was here to deliver the $100 rock he ordered, referring to crack. I told him i am not a dealer and that you asked the wrong guy. then he begged me not to tell anybody because he will lose his job. I told him go do your thing, i am out of here.he started freaking out and yelled out something at me but couldnt understand it, i just left repulsed.Just because i am BLACK and drive a suv with nice rims on it, DONT MAKE ME A CRACK DEALER. i never knew you guys hired crack heads. you will NEVER get my service.

Rick is professional and did great work. I also found the pricing very reasonable.

I bought a muffler and tailpipe 2 years ago and my truck was drove less than 15,000 miles. The muffler rusted out and so I took my truck back and,they inspected it and said that the muffler and tailpipe was bad. They would honor the warranty on the muffler but said the tailpipe wasnt coded on their computer properly. I told them it was their mistake and it was but they wouldnt honor the warranty on the tailpipe. In the end I had to pay $110.00 for something that was under warranty. The guy is a crook and they used inferior parts.ill never go back and wont recommend them to anyone.

They talk really good. But super over charge you. They told me its only a $25 diagnostic fee but when they were done they charged me $70 and argued with me that it took them an hour to find out that it was what i thought it was in the first place. So i paid 70 to be reasured that thats what it was. Mind you i have spent over $2000 with them over the past year. I just couldnt believe how they treat their loyal customers. That is the last time i will ever give them my business

I used to come here all the time, but Ill be moving my business to a local shop. I came in for a transmission issue and somehow ended up paying for a new starter as well as a new tranny. The staff was definitely nice and provided helpful information, but they quoted me $1000 more than the Lentz on MLK for the same job, and as my car was no longer driveable I didnt have much of a choice. I have to admit that my previous experiences with the Lentz on MLK was always good, but my one time going to the Larch St. location was not a fun time.

The individual who answered the phone was rude and condescending and wanted to tack on a whole bunch of un needed repaired and argued that it was recommended after I repeatedly told him I could not afford all of the recommendations. I will never do business here.
