Very nice place with a small outside area to sit when its nice. The way its split into a coffee side and beer side is a great setup for college students who arent old enough for beer but need a good place to study or hang out with friends. Coffee and beer both are great from here also!

Very friendly and good people great atmosphere inside outside dining prices are good. But the downside is that they only have a 16 oz hot drink not a 20 or 24 which I liked to do. A really good selection of danishes and breakfast items.

The first of all-the quiche was just divine!!!All of their food is amazing and home made flavorful. The tea selection is superb (comes with one free refill which is really good- you can even purchase it for home brewing as well). The staff is very helpful and courteous. Definitely a must stop for dining.

We were on our first visit to Laramie. The coffee shop atmosphere was inviting and the person taking our order was friendly. The general feeling was that the shop was a gathering place, which is good. We ordered double espressos which were satisfying. The only issue was that we waited for our espressos for over 30 minutes. They diffently need more help. That seems to be everywhere though. I wish them the best.

Good brewed coffee. Cool collectible coffee cups. A little bit of odd feel/service. Will go back though when we end up in Laramie.

Great WiFi. Got a ton of work done while here. Lots of college kids, as youd expect. Good coffee, decent beer. Pretty decent brownies too.

We were very impressed with the beer and the coffee here. We only had a pretzel as an appetizer, but it was delicious. We will definitely be back when in town!

Coal Creek, in downtown Laramie is a great place to meet friends or just relax. At the right times, its a good place to work, at others its too busy to really focus. Coffee is fabulous. They have a bar and an outdoor patio thats great for people watching.

High quality beans make the best coffee, and John uses the highway quality! I recommend the mocha! Their cookies are also fantastic, you cant go wrong with peanut butter!

I wanted to hate this place. I had meet the owner at a beer festival in Cheyenne a few years back and was not impressed. The beer was good. Good location. Friendly staff.

Best place to get some work done and the wifi is super fast. Has a very calm environment and the baked goods are great. The french toast isnt the best but they make up for it with the french buttered muffins (so good!!). The coffee is great there too. The staff are super kind unlike the other coal creek.

Great place! Stated on the coffee shop side to do a bit of work, good wifi and cool relaxing vibe inside. Later moved to the bar side and had some really good beers. The Scottish ale was my favorite!

They have an amazing atmosphere, fantastic food, and great coffee but unfortunately the last few times have taken over an hour to get a coffee and a sandwich and so I’ve had to leave without my things. The staff look stressed and avoid speaking with waiting customers which I definitely understand but I’ve wasted a lot of money on food I’ve never gotten. I hope they can get things handled a little better because it’s a really great place but know there’s going to be a long wait.

Really good coffee but pricey for the area. Only gripe is that the only dark roast available was French, which is the most extreme dark. A more measured dark option would be a plus. But a great place, especially in the morning.

Every single time I order a food item, it has been messed up. Forgot the egg, the pesto, the tomato, etc. No consistency at all in food prep. The staff seems to care more about chatting with each other than preparing correct food orders. Cold brew is good, thats about it.

A comfortable place downtown for a hot chocolate. The staff was helpful and the drinks were good. There was plenty of parking nearby and good bicycle parking right in front. I have to admit that I was a little disappointed that a place advertising itself as a home to malcontents and revolutionaries mandated mask conformity. Oh well.

Obviously their coffee is great and their food is also pretty good. Awesome place to hang out with friends or catch up on reading. If youre goal is to study here I dont know if its my favorite coffee shop in laramie for that but its certainly not a bad option by any means

Solid coffee, beer, and food. Wifi is speedy, plenty of indoor/outdoor seating, and they allow dogs on the patio. There really isnt much to complain about, its just a nice spot!

Such a cute spot for coffee. The coffee was amazing, I got a lavender honey latte and cranberry croissant and my husband got black coffee. Such friendly and down to earth staff!!

Actually the coffee shop was closed for remodeling, but we were there to purchase some beer. I have not found a brew that was not good. Excellent craft beer.

I have traveled all over the west and the espresso here is quite literally the best Ive ever had. Wonderful atmosphere, excellent staff and their COVID protocols made me feel very comfortable! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Great coffee and local atmosphere. A true Laramie original. I come here often... But terribly slow service. It should not take 15 minutes to get a latte when I am one of 5 customers and there are 4 staff milling about.

Yall, our family is super patient and understanding - and we will wait however long we need to for good food. However, when it seems like a rather high likelihood that our order has been forgotten - and then I am treated like im rude for calmly and quietly asking about our order - that is a problem. If it normally takes an hour for a cheese bread appetizer - my bad. Also - if an order has been missed, or there has been a delay for any reason....its absolutely no problem if that is communicated. Things happen! But no explanation, along with decidedly condescending service is just not the way go, guys. Coffee on its own garners 2 stars - but it was a wholly disappointing experience.

Another company that fell for the mask mandate lunacy. She asked if I had a mask, I replied, No. She then asked if I wanted a mask and again, I replied No. As she reached for the masks, telling me that I have to have one in order to be served, she didnt notice that she touched the mask with her barehand, and expected me to place it on my face. The mask does nothing but cover your face. If she had any virus or germ, it would have immediately been transferred to me. A physician can recommend anything, but cannot under any circumstance force you to comply. This would be unconstitutional and therefore, completely illegal. How can a government do the same? They cant. Bad rating all around.

Ordered two coffees, one bagel sandwich, and one cookie. With no acknowledgment of a potential delay or apology, food took 40 minutes to come out for no apparent reason. I tried to support a local restaurant, but the service was beyond disappointing.

The Best Place to have a quiet lunch and the crescents where huge buttery filled with almonds and cinnamon...the Turkey Pesto Sandwich with mushroom so delicious on this cool fall day plus the MPAC Art Work Beautiful...Ih dont forget the pretzel with queso dip..

I was ordered out of the coffee shop due to a medical disability.January in Laramie... 6 to 8 individuals sitting in the coffee shop, drinking coffee, eating, without a mask on. I wanted to order a coffee standing behind a sheet of plexiglass, standing without a mask on. As people sit without a mask on. But I was ordered out of the store because a proved medical disability obtained in 2016. I showed the employee my medical wrist band.I handed my unused gift card to a kind looking couple, so they can tap into some free drinks. Kindly and quietly advised the employee that I refuse any further assistance, and walked out. Never again will I support or buy any products from any shop that sells Coal Creek Coffee. I believe the Turtle Rock Cafe in town serves it, they lose too. They had good food. It has always been my last option, now it is not an option.If you think discrimination is only against color or sex, you better open your eyes.

So many good things to say...First, there’s the reason you’re there, which is the coffee. If you like dark roast, try the French Kiss. Trust me.Second, the bagel sandwiches are SO GOOD.Last, but crucial, is the service. Loved the young guy that helped us. Super cool, friendly, funny. Solid place!

Absolutely wonderful place. Popped in for an iced Irish coffee while waiting for a few things to be done downtown. The atmosphere was wonderful and the people were friendly. Im not exactly this type of places average customer by any means and I certainly got a couple looks walking in but Ill certainly be back! Place reminds me of this old coffee shop/bar I used to frequent back in the days of being a cab driver in the big city.

Cute coffee shop but was very disappointed. My wife had a medical condition that makes wearing a mask unsafe for her and we were refused service unless she wore one even after informing them about it. We walked out and will never be back.

I loved my chai latte with pumpkin spice, but my friend didnt really care for her chai tasted to much like brewed tea and the sizes seem really small.

All I can say about this place was SLOW, SLOW, SLOW, and SLOW!! Only come here if you want to wait 30 minutes for a coffee. I will not be back.

Tasty coffee but often so busy that you wait 20 minutes for a small latte. Great vibe and great place to study or have meetings, I just wish they could make more than one shot of espresso at a time when they are lined out the door.

I like it. The Atmosphere always consists of wood, beer, and coffee. You can smell the graphite from the artists pencil sitting in the sunlight wooden colored booth by the window. Glass makes such pretty sounds as an old man stirs his coffee making eyes at his equally aged lover sitting across from him. The life bands always make for a lovely surprise.

I wish I had taken a picture of my coffee because it was awesome! A perfect heart shape in the middle of delicious coffee! What away to start the day!!! Very nice people, delicious cinnamon roll and nice atmosphere! We will be back. Thank you.

Great food and drinks, however not great customer service. I go here for coffee out of convenience as it is close to my office, but I think I will start going to Night Heron where the staff is friendlier. A shame too because Ive met the owner and he seems super great. He just needs to take the time to teach his staff some basic customer service skills.

Coal Creek Cafe is an awesome cafe and bar in Downtown Laramie... excellent place to come and chill and chat to friends... though just before we left Laramie, covid-19 had forced them to have take away only...staff are awesome and the barista’s make a good espresso! Thanks for so many good times!!!!!

Decent coffee, great pastries.I come here every year on a road trip. The coffee could be stronger, but way better than a gas station. The pastries are very good, but avoid the bagels. I tried the bagel Rochelle this year. Veggies were good, but the bagel itself was mushy and not what I would consider a proper bagel.

Editing my review after consistently bad service. The employees always seem to be cranky.I was rudely told today that my to-go coffee was going to be a 15-20 minute wait. I showed up 7 minutes later and my coffee was made and on the counter with no one else in line... If I had waited as long as instructed my coffee would have been cold! Then the employee said well make the bagel when we have time.The actual food and coffee at Coal Creek is delicious. Ill be going to the uptown location from now on with hopes of a better experience.

I am traveling through Laramie from Peoria, Illinois to Olympia, Washington helping my brother & sister-in-law move. We spent the night in Laramie and headed to Coal Creek for our morning coffee. The atmosphere is nice and cozy & the barista who took my order was friendly. I ordered an iced caramel latte with skim milk and an extra pump of caramel along with an iced Americano for my boyfriend. I usually order this at my hometown coffee spot in Illinois. I do have to say that the flavoring and syrups Coal Creek uses are very sweet, so I could have gone without the extra pump of caramel. My recommendation is that if you are ordering flavored lattes, etc, do without any extra pumps because your coffee will most likely come out sweeter than you expect. Besides that, it was a nice little local coffee stop on our way.

Ran in for a quick cup while in town for a meeting. The place was very comfortable. I got a double cap that was great. But what really caught my eye was the monster blueberry scone. So delicious and packed with blueberries. I will be back!

Just your average coffee shop. Nice interior, nice downtown location but just average coffee. Service needs to seriously improve. I was parked in the driveway/alley for about a minute (yes, I was a tourist) and an employee quickly snapped a picture of my license plate. Maybe he thought there was a cause for concern? Not the friendliest place. Again the coffee was average. I have had much much better. Nice seating though. Very modest pastry inventory. I do love danish and cupcakes.

Great atmosphere! This is a coffee shot connected to a bar. The bar has a great selection of local beers and some wines. Food here is delicious! Definitely a nice hang out place.

Nice place to get a coffee (or a chai and apple pie in my case), sit down and chat with a friend or get some work done. The venue on the other half of the building, through a walkway turns into a bar. There is a sense of the wild west here and it seems a genuine gem.

Delicious! House coffee was 👌and the turkey pesto sandwich was delicious. Blazing fast Wi-Fi too! There is a brewery on one side of the building so you can get beer if thats more your speed.

Service is very personal and friendly. I like the decor of decorated wood tables, brick walls and large windows. My Chai tea is strong and not too sweet, with the perfect amount of cinnamon.Its busy this morning but its because of an event going on outside. I can see how this would be the perfect spot to work on my laptop, read poetry or meet a friend.

We just picked up coffee and chai, so we dont feel like we gave this place a full chance. The drinks we got were good, but nothing blew us away. Everything was good quality and we look forward to trying it again next time we were in town.

Delicious, precise lattes and baked goods. Especially delicious after spending seven days backpacking across the Wind River High Route.
