I deal with a lot of mechanics with my job managing a fleet of 25. I recently used fifth gear for my personal vehicle. I can clearly see a strong leadership with this team. In my countless experiences with other mechanics, I have never seen a team so thorough with their check in and inspection process. They provided me with pictures and details on how things should look compared to how they currently looked. They provided me with an estimate on when I need to check on certain things. They also confirmed the diagnosis from another mechanic and slightly beat the price (which I didnt even need to negotiate). They took care of some of my transportation needs while it was in the shop. And conveniently dropped it off in my driveway! On top of that, it actually appears that the problem on my wifes car! I will definitely use them again and if they continue to treat me like their only customer, then they will have a customer for as long as the current owners are there, because they know how to treat a customer! Good work Fifth Gear.

After trying for over a month to bring my 2012 Volvo to Park place - they kept canceling my 3 appointments - I asked a friend Kevin where he would recommend and he said 5th Gear - he point blank said they won’t do anything unnecessary and they stand behind their work ! My mind was completely put to ease when Adam was willing to work with me since I had a budget - and only fix what I could afford then my sister offered up a credit card and said let them fix everything! I have taken my 95 993 in a few times and Fifth Gear has been awesome to work with. Matt is always on top of the issue with the car and is clear and concise on what the issue is and explains everything perfectly in what needs to be done, the cost to do so and how long it will take. Best part is, they are always willing to drive the car back to my house so I dont have to figure out how to get there. Great place and will continue to go back here.

If you have a BMW or another high end car, this shop may work for you. However, if you have an economy car like Honda, then you better go to your dealer service. Their prices are close or higher than your Honda dealer service.Also, I forgot my discount coupon in my car which was in the shop and paid the full amount. Later I texted a picture of my coupon to get a discount after the fact but I did not get a discount.

Tim and the shop staff are great! When I’ve had work done over the last couple years I’ve always been more than satisfied with the conveniences they offer and the quality of their work.

Adam grated me professionally at my appointment timeand they took my 2002 Ford 7.3 Diesel 4 X 4 directly back to the shop to replace my locking hub on the drivers side of my truck that had failed. They contacted me when it was ready and when I got to the shop they had my reasonable invoice ready at the exact total they had given me when they set up the appointment. Matt, the shop manager was there and I told him I was very happy with the work and the price. I paid the bill and they gave me my keys with a goody bag to take home. When I walked to my truck I found that they had given me a free truck wash. This was my first visit there. I WILL BE GOING BACK FOR ANY OF MY NEEDED REPAIRS !!!

While I have had great experiences in the past, this time was the exact opposite. Our Tahoe was experiencing transmission slippage. Fifth Gear saw that there were no codes in our cars system and their only recommendation was to replace the whole transmission at the tune of $6,800. I took it elsewhere and the actual issue was a damaged check ball in the valve body part of the transmission. The cost to fix was way less. I felt as Fifth Gear did nothing more than hook our car up to a computer and decided that it was an internal issue so that meant full replacement.

I’ve been very happy with the quality of the work and the response of the staff, especially Jeff. I have 3 older vehicles and they have some repairs that need to be done and others that can wait. I appreciate that there’s never pressure to get it all fixed.

My 2002 Tahoe has 230k plus miles on it, hail damage, some other minor body damage, and a very worn interior. It’s not a show car by any means. But it runs great! It recently developed a few leaks and looking at it one might believe it is time for retirement. Jeff and team did the diagnostics for me and clearly laid out the repairs needed and the costs broken down by item. I’ll admit that it is a lot to spend on a car as described but it runs great. How could I put down a fully functioning machine just because of a few leaks and scars and bruises. We’re fixing it a piece at a time and Jeff and the Fifth Gear team are great partners helping me out. I am a very happy customer and friend.

Getting my oil changed at fifth gear automotive was a very pleasant experience! All the workers were kind and helpful and they had a comfortable waiting lounge I could sit at and wait for my car. The folks at Fifth gear went above and beyond to guarantee that our first experience was exceptional. The were extremely nice to the point of providing cold sodas for my son on a very hot day (not to mention giving him som car show swag to keep him occupied while we discussed what I needed.I am from out of town (Georgia out of town) and so not familiar with prices here, but, Fifth gear beat prices in GA by a lot. Even if they didnt have the best prices around, there service would more that make up for it. DID I mention the free clean and sanitize, would not get that in GA.

Very impressed with customer service and repair. The staff arranged a ride for me to get home upon dropping my car off for a battery change, and they dropped my car off at home when the job was finished. Given my schedule it was a huge time saver not having to arrange transportation to and from.

Despite having never written a business review before, I now feel obligated to do so after the exceptional service I received from Fifth Gear today.My jeeps battery died a few days ago, and so I sought to have it replaced with a new one I recently purchased. Apparently, however, replacing a jeep battery with aftermarket accessories (light bar, winch, etc.) connected to it is too much to handle for some places, because two different shops refused to assist me. Fortunately, this wasnt a problem in the slightest for the wonderful folks at Fifth Gear; not only did they have my new battery installed within about 20 minutes, but to my astonishment, they graciously decided not to even charge me for the service! As far as my future auto needs are concerned, Fifth Gear can absolutely count on my return.

I live in Houston and I was in the area overnight when I saw the check engine light. I was referred to Fifth Gear and very thankful they could help me. I was traveling alone and needed to get home to Houston. I arrived at the repair shop around 10am. By 3pm they had my SLK 280 fixed and ready to go. There was a problem with the thermostat sticking and also the air intake manifold was replaced. They were able to get the necessary parts quickly and get me back on the road. Their facility was neat and clean. The waiting area was comfortable and well stocked with beverages and snacks. They even had a phone charging station with 4 different kinds of connections! The employees were very nice and the people I met in the waiting room were repeat customers who were obviously very pleased with their work so that gave me comfort that God had guided me to just the right place!

Thought their pricing high to fix a horn but the Caesar worked with me on the price. Turns out job entailed more than what they initially thought but kudos to them they stuck with their estimate.

Really a waste of time and money 170$was not even worth it, keys for service did not accommodate a person who works full time and only available on the weekends wait but the shop is closed on Saturday where majority of business is done for people who work I have to tow my own car without a key because they still have it average tow 150$ honestly I could pay a crack head and get better results shame on 5th gear

I took my van in cuz the AC was blowing weak.Turns out it was still under warranty and the 5th Gear guys had presence of mind to service it under the Chevy warranty and it didn’t cost me anything 🙌🏻

I take my Porsche there for service and the service is always done well and the one time I had an issue they took care of it immediately. (replaced a drain plug which was leaking)

Outstanding Service. My Audi required a complex repair that was beyond my capabilities. I had Fifth Gear on my radar for a few years as a independant shop worthy of a shot. I had the car flat bedded in on a Wednesday and was out by Friday afternoon. This was a pleasant surprise as parts needed to be ordered and the labor was in excess of 10 hours. The customer service was outstanding, the repair work was without issue and was performed at a fraction of the price of the stealership. I will use Fifth Gear as my independent shop of choice from this point forward and have recommended it to multiple friends and family.

Okay.... So, first things first. If I am ever in Denton again and need service on my vehicle, I will not even consider going anywhere else but here in Lewisville. Matt helped me with an alignment on my BMW today and this car of mine has been through it, you know what I mean? LOL. Matt did my alignment, replaced some bolts and whatnot (car mechanic lingo stuff with words I dont remember) did everything he could to make my vehicle safe for me to travel in, and he did it all without charging me a dang Penny!! Tom Edward’s and the team at fifth gear worked a miracle on my truck. Long story short, the previous owner had never done an oil change on it, and any other maintenance. The truck has 200k miles on it. I assumed it needed a new motor. The guys replaced the timing chain components, re- timed the motor, and ran a special flush through the motor to clean the sludge out. I didn’t even know that was possible. All in all they saved me big time from having to replace the motor. They even fixed a few little issues that i didn’t tell them about, but they happen to notice. Like my back up camera, and a fuel pump fuse that was on its last leg. This will be my go to shop from now on.

My pregnant granddaughter had a medical emergency with 2 toddlers at home. She was in no medical condition to drive. I had returned 5th Gears loaner car and had an estimated hour to pick up my own. 5th Gear allowed me to take out the loaner car again and drive to Pilot Point from Lewisville to assist her. It took a few hours to return 5th Gears loaner. Thanks to 5th Gear I could assist my granddaughter when she needed me most. My vehicle takes one of 2 possible crank shaft pos sensors per dealer. Wrong one installed at 5th, so had to duplicate time & $$ to go to the dealer to resolve. Jeff called to see if all was satisfactory, when I told him no and why, he said he would look into it, and I never heard back from him...

After 5 years of dealing with a vibration in my vehicle, countless visits to multiple shops and many useless and costly repairs, Matt at 5th gear diagnosed and fixed the vibration in my truck in less time than it took to drive there. Honesty is paramount in the auto repair business and it seems like 5th Gear might be one of the very few truthful shops. This was my first experience with them and I’m very glad I was referred here. I recently purchased a preowned Volvo XC90 and didn’t want to be stuck with taking to dealer for maintenance since the closest dealer is a 30 minute drive. Fifth Gear completed a battery replacement on my car, along with checking to make sure I had no other issues. They took me home during repairs and picked me up the next day from home to pick up my car. It has white leather seats and carpet and they covered my headrest and seats with plastic as well as paper liner over floor mats. It was clean and shiny outside as well. I will always use Fifth Gear for repairs and maintenance on my car.

Derek is excellent. I had an estimate from a different shop. His team told me which repairs had to be immediately taken care of and what could wait.Their experience with and knowledge of old Wranglers is exceptional. They are trustworthy. They are not going to suggest repairs that are not needed.They also really care about their customers. I needed to get tires and could get them right away. They called me the next day to reinforce that I really needed to get some immediately, even if it were not from them.
