The packers that came to my house were amazing! Very efficient, friendly, and understanding! Amanda, Kyla, Bianca, Abby, and Betsy are amazing at there jobs! They handled our things with care, didnt over pack and made sure they had everything we wanted shipped! They also were very clean and kept everything neat and organized!! I give them a 5 out of 5!

Bianca Maggie Gunner Brian and Tyler all helped my boyfriend and I move from Peoria, IL to Schaumburg,IL on Friday. They were all very professional. They worked fast and took great care with our items. They asked where would you like items to be placed etc. They were respectful of the fact we had cats and had to move them to another room while they were packing and were patient with us. We are moving my 86 year old mom. Today the packers came by and Betsie, Maggie, and Daisy were so fast at packing and respecting our request for wearing a mask around my mom. Huge shout out to these 3 wonderful women for their hard work and understanding.

I didnt use their moving services but they ripped out my mailbox when their driver took a turn too sharp in our neighborhood. I was amazed that they were cooperative and ready to send me a check once I sent them the invoice. Leaving a review because I got the check after a couple friendly exchanges with one of the representatives.

Our packers did such an amazing job. Not one thing was broken in our move to Pittsburgh. The one employee Abby went above and beyond to make it a easy move.

**SHOULD NOT GET A STAR**This company is an absolute joke. My husband (active duty military) PCS over 2 years ago. Their movers damaged personal property as well as the structure of our home. While the movers immediately acknowledged and took accountability for the damages, the company in itself did nothing but delay, deny, and low ball us on the cost to indemnify our loss. Due to their negligence we are still disputing what their insurer, Midsouth Claims (Hudson Insurance), is trying to offer us to compensate us for the floors.Shur-way initially did not want to take responsibility, then attempted repairs by sending some substandard contractor to our home who only did nothing but caused more damage, then they wanted us to sign a release to accept an insulting offer. Once we refused, they then turned it over to their insurance carrier, Midsouth Claims (Hudson Insurance), who attempted to do the same.We have been forced to retain counsel to resolve this matter and due to personal matters with the attorney have had to release the attorney as we need undivided attention to this matter. Now we are still in dispute with the insurer and have not received any resolve.Shur-way should be removed from the government procurement program as their negligent actions are NOT what the military represent and definitely DO NOT have any customer service qualities whatsoever.As I typed out this review, I still have not been made whole for the mistake due to their employees negligence and I will continue to send this feedback, my experience, to everyone until this matter gets resolved.

Shurway Libertyville complete our home move in Mundelein. Given that we were in transition - short local move of 4 miles and also with 3 young children, it was critical that we work together in phases or several days.Shurway was on time, professional, neat, organized, Patient, and came in at their quoted hours & dollars. Everything was upfront and no hidden charges. Be aware of this industry....we talked to several movers and they have hidden charges and costs buried in their contract....absolutely no DAMAGE or broken items in anything.This included major - very heavy items such as Grand Piano, Sectionals, Solid Oak Bedroom and Office furniture.NOW for the special shout outs for the team that made it happen for our family!ADAM, MARCUS, CASEY, BRIAN, DRESMOD! I called Shur-Way for a local move, very frustrated and disappinted. There were three movers to move a 2 BR condo to a 2 BR townhouse 2 miles away. They put things in completely wrong places (bedroom and diningroom boxes in garage and basement, etc.), despite clear labeling, which is very frustrating when all of your clothes are missing and finally found 2 floors down, in the basement and its bedtime. TThey lost/misplaced shelving hooks and I have screws and assembly pieces but no idea where they belong.I cant even put my shelves back into their places because I cant find the right pieces. One of my display cabinets is broken, the glass was pushed out and wont go back in. One box simply disappeared, it seems. I have checked and rechecked boxes and it simply isnt here. hey also tried to take apart a very special, custom built childs table without permission, broke it, and failed to mention it. They just put it back into the large black bag and said nothing. I moved over two months ago and am still being disappointed as I find more and more things wrong. Id advise you to stay clear of this company.

I did a military move with them! I have missing gym equipment. Broken vases and lamps. Missing an entire wardrobe box. They decided to pack toilet bowl cleaner and plunger in a box with clothes. They decided to pack a tv in a box with kitchen items. All our televisions were just packed with paper and box no bubble wrap. Now I have 3 televisions that don’t work. Our military gifts and decorations were thrown in boxes now they are scratched and damaged. Worst moving company! If the movers feel so comfortable saying that it’s not their stuff so they can do the job. They basically said it’s not their stuff so why does it matter if it’s broken. The owners daughter was the one who was the lead on our pack out. Clearly it shows she doesn’t care if her family’s company has a bad reputation. Will definitely be calling the military company to ensure they are never used again!

Amazing! We just moved from Chicago to Texas and I couldn’t ask for anything better. Shur-Way showed up 4 days after. Very fast! Shoutout to Neil for being great!

Reps totally unresponsive and rude. Still waiting on our stuff. In an empty house with a 6 month old and being told it will be another 2 weeks before our things arrive (3 weeks total). Judging by the other reviews, I fully expect that all of our things will be broken by the time they arrive too. Find someone else.UPDATE: So, I have never done this, but credit where credit is due. We did finally receive our household goods and almost NOTHING was broken. (there were, of course, a few broken items that we are finding as we finish unloading as happens when moving), but overwhelmingly, almost everything appears to be in the same condition as our packout three weeks ago.It seems like the slow packing I was complaining about in my earlier post was actually done in an exceptional manner. Having done several military moves, I am seriously impressed by the with the way Shur-Way handled our stuff. So I am updating my review and apologize to the packers I criticized in my earlier post. They did an amazing job.I do think 20 days is too long to wait for household goods but I will chalk that up to COVD and the current workforce issues. 5 stars.

What a joke. Military move and they didn’t meet the delivery date twice that they scheduled. Still waiting for my stuff almost 3 weeks. They took on a contract knowing very well they had no drivers to bring my stuff. They damaged SEVERAL of my things at pack up and cannot meet a contracted date. DO NOT USE this company.

Local move on very short (1-week) notice. Lou R., Marco P. and Caleb C. were friendly, courteous and efficient. Our move took less time than expected, and the charges were adjusted to reflect the work they actually did. Movers kindly offered to add items to the truck we had planned to move in our own vehicles since there was extra space.

Used them for two different moves and wonderful experience both times.

So many things arrived broken. Things were thrown around upon arrival and it was evident that my belongings were not cared for.

Most of the guys who moved us were nice enough, but they moved at a snails pace and did not handle our boxes with care. We were misquoted the time to move by a huge margin (4hrs to 6.5hrs) and they broke several key things (including one guy dropping an entire container of ornaments down our stairs). I’d recommend you find another mover who will quote you properly that employs movers who are motivated to work quickly and carefully.

These guys were AWESOME!! Brandon, Julian and Jake moved some VERY heavy items for me. They were courteous, respectful and careful moving large items through very tight spaces. I would highly recommend these professionals and will use them again!

I am very VERY displeased with these movers. We had a cross country military move, and it seems only my belongings were damaged. Which is ironic, because my husband specified that if any items were to be packaged with care, it was mine. I own a small business, and i am currently unable to work because so many of my materials are missing and I’ve had to DRASTICALLY downsize due to the fact that my carts & storage bins were broken & misplaced as well. My engagement ring is missing, i have half my jewelry. I am so upset and thanking God we will never do a military move again, we will never move cross country again so we will never ever be using this company again nor will we ever recommend them. I’d give 0 stars if i could, however, the movers who unpacked us did an amazing job & were just as perplexed as we were about the west coast movers job. That is quite literally the only reason this company is getting any praise from me.

We have used Shur-way 2 times with a local move and had a good experience. So when my son was moving out of state we called again andeach step of the way was easy and professional. They kept us informed, always showed up on time, at both packing and at delivery. Vince Alamo was my sons driver and was terrific. He made the whole experience comfortable and stress free! Very stressful experience. Very expensive. Broken Dishes. Damaged furniture.The 30 min travel fee to yard and back, was waived since I lived 4 miles from Shur Way yard. But this was not communicated to the movers at the time of payment. Costs: min 3 hrs for Sat moves (minus travel time) = $652. Moved a one bedroom apt to a ranch home, 10 min away.....needing no assembly of furniture. The move took 3 1/2 hours = $761.....(plus $100 tip) .Most importantly, Im finding damaged furniture and broken dishes as I unpack the next dayMovers showed up 10 min early while I was unloading boxes at new home. I didnt need bed bags (not free)-yet they brought in residence anyway and left until I returned the unopened.There are cheaper and more professional services in Lake county..

Just did another military move and had a driver from this company that was hired by another company to move our household goods. The driver tried to lie about our weight and said we had 2,000 pounds more than we actually did. This isnt the first time weve had to deal with this kind of situation and knew we had to get another weight before our stuff was delivered and what a surprise, somehow we lost 2,000 pounds.... ALWAYS ask to get your stuff reweighed before delivery and as soon as the truck is empty. I cant believe drivers actually do this kind of thing and it happens all the time.This was just one issue of many but would of been a very expensive problem and the others were just very bad organization skills.

Terrible!Broken items, damaged wall. Misquoted. After the move was done they padded an extra $500 to the bill because one of the movers sat in the van. Disappointing

Crew was super nice. Efficient and careful. Seemed to be having fun together as well as working hard. I have been unpacking for a week and have found nothing damaged or broken from the move. If anything could be improved upon it would be to stress that a final walk through with the crew should be made before they leave the house. Both inside and out to insure that nothing gets left behind. And a little more time on reviewing contracts. Other than that all good!

Sureway was recommended to us by somebody who has used them a couple times with great results. Our crew consisted of Lou,Tim,Miguel and Michael. I was surprised to learn that all of them have been with Shurway movers for a number of years. Very efficient, hard workers. Treated our belongings with respect and we had nothing damaged in our local move. Great attitudes from the team, polite, and gave 110% the entire time. They werent the low cost option, but they did get the job done 1hr earlier and with 1 fewer worker than originally planned. We were really pleased with the quality of work!

Great service. 2000 mile move. Packed and moved 3BR household on time and with no breakage including crystal chandelier and antique figurines. Their pricing was at the bottom of all the estimates. Our price was actually lowered because the actual weight was less than the estimated one! Everyone was pleasant and professional! We recommend them with no reservations.

We hired Shur-Way for our local move/downsizing which required 75% of our items to go to a local storage facility and the remaining items to go to our apartment. Given the size of the home we moved from, our sales rep Ryan suggested a 5 person crew and 2 trucks.While the 5 person crew came at the highest hourly rate among options presented, we liked the idea of the gained efficiency and expediency of having 5 people. Really glad we went that route! We were very pleased with the service we received and how smooth the whole process went.Our 5 person crew was the best we ever had and weve moved 5 times. The guys worked super hard, were very nice, professional and took very good care of our items with absolutely NOTHING damaged.Kudos to Ryan our sales rep and the crew of some really great guys who did as noted, but also had great sense of humor and made the long/stressful day humorous and fun. I have had several moving experiences over the years and I hired different moving companies each time because I was never comfortable with one or the other. I never knew what I was going to get when the movers showed up or even if the movers showed up. Shur-Way by far was the most professional and responsive moving company that I have ever worked with. Everyone from the back office staff to the guys that came out were very friendly and respectful. My move was during the peak of COVID19 and they wore masks and gloves putting our minds at ease during this stressful time. I highly recommend Shur-Way for your move.

Had such a positive experience with Shurway, from picking up my free boxes before packing to unloading at the new house. The movers we had were great (Alvaro and Dave are the names coming to mind). We had a terrible experience with this company, however my parents used the same company and had a great experience. The more we unpack and settle in the more of our property we found that was broken during our move (which was only 10 miles). It has been 6 months and we are still finding stuff that was broken. The customer service staff was rude and non-responsive until I involved his manager. They refused to pay for the full damages that they caused to our property.

From start to finish this was very smooth as hard as moving across the country is. All the people that worked in my house were amazing polite professional and just hard hard workers. Highly recommend and when the truck got to my new house just as smooth. Really great and hard working employees

Best moving experience ever!! Kim was great to schedule us when we needed at short notice. Scott did a remote estimation due to our short timeframe and came up very close to real. The packing and loading was right on time and done very well. Best of all, it arrived on time and not a single item was broken or mishandled . A+

I recently used Shur-Way Movers. They guys were great. On time, super nice and polite. Put down runners to protect carpet and cardboard to protect wood floors. Furniture was wrapped with either shrink wrap or moving pads. I would definitely recommend for your next move.

I wish these guys/gals were national! They were fast, courteous and made us feel good about our move. This has been one of the most professional and efficient movers we have ever had and this is our fourth move in five years so we have had an opportunity to try a few. Oh no. So many problems. They lost pieces of my table so they could not put it back together. After arriving at the new house half of the team stayed in the truck for 20 minutes hanging out. They claimed to have been at my house 45 mins longer than what they were and to top it all off they broke my overhead garage door. They hit a piece off of it that was perfectly intact before the move. It was an awful experience.

Josh is as fantastic. He is responsive and always resolved any issue. The office staff however didn’t return phone calls so I had to call Josh who resolved it.

Not the experience I was hoping for. They texted me and woke me up asking me to leave a review.The crew that loaded my belongings were great. Efficient and did a great job. It went down hill from there. It took them 12 days to deliver my stuff. Imagine living in your new home with nothing for 12 days. When the driver showed up, he had to unload the truck by himself because his crew never showed up. What should have been a 3 hour job instead took 7 hours. 7 hours to unload a 2 bedroom house. 3 and 1/2 hours into unloading the truck, a thin man in his 60s arrived to help my poor driver ( who did an amazing job under the circumstances ). Again, not the experience I was hoping for.

Half good, half bad. The movers who picked up and loaded my items from IL seemed untrained and the proceedings of the day were never explained to me directly - I had to guess and ask many questions to learn how things would be handled that day; timing, car transport, etc. Also, a few pieces of my furniture were damaged upon unloading at the Libertyville location warehouse. The delivery team in AZ provided the opposite experience overall. The driver, Roy, explained everything, asked me a lot of good questions, and the movers were efficient. I saught out (and paid more for) a reputable moving company to receive a professional experience. It cost a lot to feel uninformed and be left with broken furniture. I suppose in every large company you get a different experience based on the individual you work with.

We had a wonderful experience with them from start to finish. Our crew that moved us were pleasant to work with and great with all of our kiddos that were present.

My first experience was so great it was a no brainer to use them for my second move. The company is a family owned company right in Libertyville, they do local and long distance. Both times the crew were very respectful of our items and if in doubt they would ask not just assume. They were on time and the estimate was quite accurate.

A moving experience that far exceeded our expectations. We moved household furnishings from our Chicago area residence to a residence in the mountains of Colorado. From start to finish, the experience with Shur-Way was excellent. Our account rep delivered excellent service in helping us with an exclusive use of truck contract and related issues and was dead-on in his estimate, which was a very attractive estimate for exclusive use of truck. Scheduling went without a hitch. Three terrific and hardworking women packed our items with care and patience. We were not moving everything from the Chicago home, so the packers had to work with my method of labeling what to pack, plus a number of items were going to be stored in our CO homes garage for further transport later in the year to a different place and needed special labeling for unloading in CO. All was done exactly as I requested. The moving van driver was outstanding, professional and easy-going, and his Chicago crew was hardworking. When our driver pulled up in our tricky driveway in CO, he still had his good humor and big smile plus a local crew of helpers from Denver that worked harder than I have ever seen a moving crew work. Unloading went smoothly and rapidly. Nothing, not one single item, was broken. The company accepted a credit card over the phone in advance of delivery to CO, so we had no hassles with cashiers checks or cash. Shur-Way is a family-owned Chicago area company that does cross-country as well as local moves. They get my 100% unqualified recommendation!

Although we felt we would be in good hands after meeting the person who quoted our move and picking up our boxes at their very nice facility in Libertyville, our experience was very unpleasant. We were assigned a 4 person crew, but only 3 men showed up initially. The move took longer than quoted even though we had sold several pieces of furniture that had been quoted for the move. Toward the end of our move, we just had the crew dropping things in the garage because we wanted it to be over. The crew used dirty mats to cover the floors of our new home. When they rolled them out, dirt and grime got on our floors. A fourth crew member showed up later in the day and was unprofessional and inappropriate. His behavior made us uncomfortable. He wanted to be tipped even though he had only been on the job an hour. We had damage done to some furniture. Some members of the crew worked very hard and others did not. One member of the crew actually was yelling fowl language while moving a heavy mattress. He was very unprofessional. We had two laptops missing at the other end of the move and they have not been recovered. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Shur-Way.

Terrible service, from moving guys to the claims person. Ive used Shur Way in the past, but they have lost their way in dealing with customers. The moving guys were rude to my daughter whose stuff was moved from storage, they lost a $2,000 chair, damaged our new wood floors in the move, and significantly damaged an inlaid table. After failing to respond to our claim effort for two weeks, the claims guy was condescending and rude. They have now refused to deal with our claim at all once we involved the credit card company in the dispute. Apparently they feel they dont have to try to resolve problems.

I dont know how they got such great reviews. 30 minutes before they were supposed to arrive they called and said they didnt have enough room in the truck to pick up all my stuff. Then they damaged an expensive piece of furniture, lost an armchair in their storage, and scratched the hardwood floors on move- in. After we complained, the manager Joe actually told us: Were movers, we break things. Dont use these movers.

My realtor recommended Shur-Way, and I am so glad that she did! What a super experience! Josh came out and did our estimate, and I was immediately put at ease. He really took his time looking through the house, and he gave a very fair and very accurate estimate. The crew that arrived on moving day was very professional and hard-working. They were great to work with, and I would recommend them to anyone in need of movers. I hope I never need to move again, but if I do, Shur-Way will be my moving company.

I didnt use this company, but they were moving a military family into my building as I was moving out. Hours of interactions with the four men representing Shur-Way left me with nothing but anger and frustration on top of an already stressful move of my own. Shur-Way, these men were a terrible representation of your company and you should know that I will not only never use your company myself but also warn others to avoid as well. These men went from uncooperative after refusing to let us occupy the loading dock we had booked to verbally abusive after stealing back (their words, among others) the freight elevator we had also booked for our move. We attempted to cooperate and share the elevator, but every time we went into the hallway, the guys were sitting down resting. The final straw came when I stumbled on two of your movers rolling around in a box full of furniture pads. When I asked one mover his name, he replied Jose and laughed. In the time that it took us to completely move our 1-bedroom apartment out (about 3 hours with 2 men) your 4-man crew had taken a 1+ hour lunch and unloaded 1/4 of their truck. It became clear that because the military was (I assume) paying, these guys were going to take as long as they wanted and, quite frankly, do whatever they wanted. They threw boxes around in the clients storage unit and let large stacks fall over onto other items. I was appalled by what I witnessed and cant imagine the final bill. Shur-Way, I would be more than happy to provide more details should you choose to follow up on this matter in the best interests of company integrity.

If you decide to stick with them get ready to file a claim on delivery, they were just that careless with my familys household goods. I have nearly 1GB of photos of their carelessness and just stupidity of packing and wrapping of everything. I will be sending all of the photos to the owner himself via certified mail, maybe that will get their attention.

Let me tell you the story of two folks leaving their house after 30+ years to move to another home just 7 miles away. After those 30 some years we had little to no idea what to expect in the way of moving services and costs.We searched and researched movers for 40 miles around preferring to use someone “Local”.We had responses of just email price menus with no real estimate. It was pretty much “We will tell you what you owe us when we are done.” We had what were more guesses than estimates. Costs to be added at the end of the move included wardrobe box rental ($8 per box), moving blanket rental, packing tape to secure the moving blankets ($7.00 a roll) travel time (minimum 2 hours for a 30 to 40 minute trip) and since we needed overnight storage an additional charge that almost doubled the “estimate”.Along comes Shur-Way Josh. Walks through the house. Gives us an “estimate” and says up front that he goes high just in case. No hidden tape charges, no blanket charges, wardrobe boxes you can borrow, no $7.00 rolls of tape. Clear cut idea of what we were going to pay and for what.The crew shows up the day before our closing and before we could even walk the crew leader through the house the crew was moving things out to the truck. 4 hours later everything was out of the house and garage and in the truck being sealed for overnight storage. No surprise or outrageous overnight storage fee and added travel charges.Closing day. Closing at 1:00. Hope to be done by 2:00. You know lawyers. 2:00 comes. Crew leader from Day 1 calls. “We are at the house waiting for the GO. 5 minutes later I call back. Keys will be there in 5 minutes.Upon our arrival 20 minutes later the same crew, with a change of one player, were full speed ahead.In about three hours mission accomplished. No damage. No broken stuff. Everything in the places noted on the boxes.Professionalism. Friendliness. Careful with our belongings. Polite. Hard working crew.Now the best part.Final bill not a few dollars under that estimate but several hundred under the bid. The fast efficient work of the crew was a cost cutter.Yup, I would recommend Shur-Way. Josua and Gunner were my movers. They showed up exactly on time and greeted me professionally. I was worried that the storage facility Id rented wouldnt be big enough but after showing them the pieces to move they assured me I had gotten the right size unit. They then went right to work, wrapping the furniture so it wouldnt get damaged and quickly moved it onto the truck. We then left for the storage facility where they efficiently unloaded and arranged the pieces in the storage unit in a logical fashion.They were cheerful and polite and a pleasure to work with. They were careful but fast and the move went much quicker than I expected.Thank you Josua, Gunner and Shurway!

I was very reluctant to use a moving company but after talking with Shur way and finding out they use move the military and all their staff had to of thru an extensive background check to go on base I realized this was the one.They did the move perfectly and clean their staff was amazing and if I ever move again it will be Shur Way

On time. Very friendly. The foreman (supervisor) was very curtious. Only two things that make me not rank 5 stars. The crew took 2 breaks during the move and when using the bathroom in the house did not clean up after themselves. Well see how the delivery goes in a couple days.

When we have big shows they move all our Equiptment, top notch, on time and very careful with our Equiptment.

I just used Shurway to move from Chicago to DC and could not be happier. This is the best move Ive ever had of the 10 spanning 25 years. I interviewed four moving companies and actually had another one in mind before Shurway was recommended by a friend. It all started with Josh who came and did the estimate. He was a straight shooter and was very fair. He was able to tell pretty much exactly how much weight my move would be and gave me a not to exceed/bonded estimate. What sold me the most was the fact Shurway employees would actually be handling all aspects of the move expect for a few helpers the driver would bring for delivery.Come packing day a trio of experienced packers arrived right on schedule and were fantastic. These ladies were on their game and thoroughly packed everything perfect. They spared no expense on the packing material even though I paid a flat rate and not by the box.The loading crew came the next day and loaded everything on the truck expertly and packed everything nice and tight. The delivery also went nice and smooth and the driver hired expert helpers in the DC area to unload everything.Every aspect of the move exceeded my standards and expectations. Shurway not only handled my moved expertly but they worked very hard to accommodate my schedule without charging more. Everything is completely unpacked and there is ZERO damage. Shurway delivered as advertised and everyone I dealt with was great. THANK YOU SHURWAY!
