Great food, great staff, clean restraint, all around enjoyable experience
Waited over an hour for my food to be delivered only for the order to be cancelled because they’re closed. Their times listed say they should be open for several more hours :/ Do the hours need to be updated online?
Ive been here twice and Ive tried the churros and the little colorful sandwiches (cant think of the word right now 😂). Both were basic in my opinion but the shop is cute and the employees have all been very nice and helpful!
We ordered six macarons for our friends birthday from Crave on Doordash for a relatively exorbitant price but we figured, Crave is a nice place, were paying for the convenience and delivery (we dont live in the same town), ok fine. But when it arrived, our very sweet and generous friend commented on our group chat that its so cute, it was packaged like it was homemade! The six macarons were delivered in two Ziploc bags contained in a generic Christmas (its January now) paper bag. One of the plastic bags had a sharpie hand written Nutella on it. No box to make sure they werent crushed or anything. It seemed super unprofessional, and was really disappointing for us sending our friend a birthday surprise, especially given the price. Makes me wonder how its packaged if you buy it in store-- they probably just tell you to say ahh and they toss it in your mouth.
Went by yesterday and it was pretty busy but still experienced some of the best customer service ever! To the young man in glasses who patiently talked with us about the menu and got our dessert out quickly and efficiently thank you!
I’m really not one to ever leave a review (which I should do more of! shame on me) but after seeing a post from a lady in Lubbock today I feel it’s really important for anyone reading this to know crave is one of the best dessert cafes in Lubbock!!!! I can’t tell you how many times this place has turned my bad days right around, really on more than one occasion they have whipped me up special crepes or shakes just depending on my mood or what I feel like. This is the beauty of eating local!! I guarantee you you’re not going to go into a chain and have the owner or cashier listen to what a bad morning you had and whip you up a special signature crepe just for you!!! This business is run with LOVE! Now I’m not saying this place is always rainbows and butterflies every time you go in sometimes they are extremely busy, sometimes they’re out of some thing you want, but that’s just because they’re sooooo good, I’m sure it can be hard to keep up with the crazy demand!!! Please don’t let any negative reviews stop you from trying this place!!! You deserve to have a little sweetness in your life and Crave will deliverer!!
Macaroons were good. But they need to put them in something else beside a paperbag. Very oily.
Employee was great, French macaron was, meh...for $3.50 I was expecting something out of this world, and that isn’t what I got. Was it OK? Yes.Was it worth it? No.I will say, they had “cereal bars” think rice crispy treat, s’mores creation with Graham crackers, etc. that looked delicious.Pass on the French macarons, especially for the price.
Rating of 3 based on the lack of staff support. Only 2 people working at the time. Food was satisfying. Suggestions would be:For a dessert specialty eatery. The whole package needs to be priority. Knowledgeable staff (willing to share detail of menu with enthusiasm).Time to prepare the specialized desserts (even when busy).Size of cafe and number of lines for ordering should be increased as well as staff.Great venue setting and food, just need to ramp up and be ready to cater to thus crowd. Most are spending some money for a dessert so make it worth it!
Beautiful set up, but would like the person selling the product to know something about what they are selling. I asked what different desserts were and the man behind the counter said I dont have any idea so I settled for a brownie, I believe it was a chocolate chip cookie brownie, since he couldnt really tell me what it was. Then he asked if Id like it heated up. Yes, please. So, he nooks the brownie on a plastic plate for probably 30 seconds and just when I was about to tell him that was long enough, he takes it out of the microwave and placed it on the counter. He did not warn me the plate was hot. I grabbed the plate and quickly had to drop it. He looked at me like I was rude. I grabbed some napkins and placed then on my hand and set the hot plate on top of the napkins and went to my lovely table. I had to let the brownie cool down for a while but it was delish. If they cared about their customers as much as their desserts, I would have given them a 5. Poor customer service.
Presentation was beautiful but the taste wasnt so great. We spent $20 on a slice of cake, lemon bars, and a macaroon and the only really edible thing was the macaroon.
I absolutely loved this establishment. I was greeted by a young fellow that goes by the name “Ryan”.This employee was extremely helpful, thoughtful, handsome, and all around a joy to be around. He made me the most excellent crepe, and got me a coke out of the fridge. I will definitely be back just because of the service I received from this young Man.
This place was amazing! Cinnamon Roll Cheesecake! Need I say more? Very friendly staff, lots of super delicious treats. A great place to stop after shopping to enjoy a wonderful dessert and the air conditioning. ...or sit outside, if you prefer.
We enjoyed Crave. Crepes have a Euro/South American flavor which is typically less sweet.than the American style pancakes. Theres always room for improvement... service was good.
Everybody was so nice and took their time on our desserts not to mention the strawberry nutella crepes are the best!
Customer service was non-existent. The two guys working just stared at me and my husband not offering to help to see what we had in mind. The wording on the glass for each item was very hard to see, almost unnoticeable. Finally with still the uncomfortable staring, we chose 2 slices of cake/cheesecake for $15. Price wouldnt have bothered me so much if we would have had better service mind you we were the only ones there.
The worst customer service- I placed an order via Door Dash and they immediately called me to let me know that they didn’t have the items I ordered. No big deal really but when I tried to ask for possible substitutes, they said they had nothing else and that I needed to just cancel the order. She just said “we really have nothing else.” I said I would have paid more and I didn’t mind if the substitutes items were less than what I had already paid. It was a surprise Valentine’s treat and really anything would have been fine but she was clearly not interested in being helpful.
First time coming here, and never coming again. No other customers in the store when my girlfriend and I went in, however for some reason still takes forever for someone to take your order. She got helped and asked for a coffee along with her crepe. One of the guys behind the counter proceeded to try and make coffee for 10 minutes, looked me in the eye while I waited at the tablet to order for myself. He then avoided making eye contact with me as he still tried to learn how to use a coffee maker. Eventually I had to speak up and ask if I could order, he looked at me with a blank face and asked if I wanted a Coke from the fridge. His name is Ryan and should not be making anything or taking orders. When we got the crepes, they were under done, soggy, and tasteless. Waste money and a total disappointment. Shouldnt be in West End or in Lubbock.
Went in for a fun Saturday treat. Wasnt greeted or even acknowledged. When I asked I question I received a short somewhat rude response. My slice of cake was good, but I wont be returning.
My son and I went to Crave Friday night for a special treat. Our waitress was Taylor and she was awesome! Service was fast and friendly and the food was Amazing! Taylors sweet smile was infectious! Will definitely be going back!
I’ve given this place a lot of chances and it keeps getting worse. At one point I was even in communication with the owners about a pretty bad service experience and assured I would be sent a gift card to come back and try again. Never received it. Service is slow, not personal, and they seem to do as they please at their own pace. Instead of trying to be fancy with flown in desserts like macarons, take the extra time to make them and not only cut costs but provide a more FRESH selection. I will never return.
Nice variety of offerings! Atmosphere was unique and mostly clean. Staff was basically friendly. Water would be a nice thing to add. I was somewhat put off by the forced tipping process. I couldnt sign the receipt screen until I chose what percentage tip I was going to leave. We are very generous tippers when someone is attending to our needs. We stood at the register to order, waited for said order, and carried our order to the table. No water glasses to refill, no one came by to see if we needed anything. We didnt have any interaction with anyone after the initial sale. I was expected to leave a tip before even tasting the product...a bit presumptuous to me.
Changed the name to Roz And Rallins. This is a great store for gals of any shape or size from pencil to bowling ball. You will find something you like that is affordable. Go try some on! Its a fun places.
So I was super excited to try this place but it was a let down. We came in and no one greeted us. Then the cashier asked if we were new. I said yes. She said we have cake and crepes. Very short responses. We got a piece of chocolate cake $8 we also got a macaroon $3.40. Highly over priced. The cake tasted old and the macaroon was extremely Chewy. We might have tried it again but when we were leaving no one acknowledged us or even say thank you.
You really should not advertise that your drive-thru is open when i had to wait at the drive thru window for over 5 minutes and no one came to help or take our order just to go park and see that your lobby is closed and your employee is hanging out in the back.
Worst $18 I ever spent. We got 4 burnt chocolate chip cookies, two flavorless lemon cookies, and two Cinnamon Toast Crunch cookies (the only reason for a star). I spent 20 mins in the drive thru with only one customer in front of me. The store was out of lemon bars and brownies.
I am always willing to give places more then one chance, but today was our 4th or 5th trip to Crave and every time I am disappointed. They use to have a Chicago crepe that was delicious, every time we went in after the first time I ordered it they would say “we don’t have stuff to make that” (they’ve since taken it off the menu.) Every single visit when I have ordered I have had to change my order because they “don’t have the stuff to make it”. Today was no different, ordered a crepe “we don’t have the stuff for that one”, ordered a different kind “we don’t have the stuff for that one either”. I said ok tell me what you DO have. They literally say they are out of everything for all of their crepes but bananas. How can a place be called a “creperie” yet never have the needed ingredients for their menu?! Just doesn’t make since. Especially when they are located right next to Costco, where you could buy strawberries for all your crepes in bulk! I see they have a new location on Indiana, which I don’t understand how a place stays open or has a new location with the way it’s ran. We won’t be back again.
Quite expensive for mediocre shakes...have had better and other places.
I stumbled accross this place on accident, and i have been too hundreds of dessert bars and none compare to this locally owned and operated company. Family Ran, they have created a very inviting place that i would love to bring a date or my family to. The desserts are amazing. The cheesecakes were incredible. Prices were great!!!! Food was good!!! No complaints about this facility i give it a 5 Star rating!!!
Overpriced. Never noticed this cute little shop before. Went in amd saw a beautiful arrangement of cakes, macaroons, and ice cream. Everything looks beautiful. I did think the macaroons were $$$$ at $4 each. A scoop of ice cream is a similar price. Ice cream flavors are not anything special or original- your basic chocolate, rocky road, vanilla fudge, etc. You are not missing out on anything you cant easily get from Market Street for less.
Had smores brownie and the cereal treat (cinnamon toast crunch) both were excellent and tasted fresh despite being pulled from the window will return to try other treats
Long ago when they first opened I got a tiramisu here and it was amazing. Then recently I got a stale piece of cheesecake, definitely not worth the almost ten bucks I paid for it. Better desserts can be found elsewhere in town.
Went there to get macaroons. Walked in and the atmosphere was wonderful. After I got my macaroons home for my daughter and I to share I realized thats when I wouldnt go back. They were chewy! They didnt have that nice crunch, when you bit into them all the filling squeezed out the sides. Definately NOT worth the $3.25 a piece. I probably would have paid .75 cents for those. Ive had far better macaroons for a lot less money. I didnt try any of the other desserts but what I did have was awful.
Heard about the place went in to try very pleased with customer service and the desserts everything was good we have been to just about every restaurant in town and believe this is some of the best dessert. I believe prices and portions are what your should expect. It is NOT some drive thru window with everything made in a different area code or previously frozen
Great food, awful service. They took 10 minutes to get my order with no line and an extra 5 to get my boyfriend’s order after turning around, noticing us standing there and proceeding to ignore us for another 5 minutes. I had to ask for my money back because one was only making crepes and they didn’t even start on my order until I asked when it was going to be out after leaving to get on their cell phone. Whoever was working tonight doesn’t need to be there they were unprofessional, untimely and unreliable. There was one other person there waiting for their order and 4 others who walked out after also being ignored.
I ordered the red velvet and cheesecake gelato... both delicious! Joel was friendly, prompt, and funny. One star off for being a bit pricey.
The dessert is amazing. Ive had the gelato, milk chocolate fondue, and cheesecake. Ive given this place 3 tries and each time the service has just been awful... First time, the server was not very personal or talkative, I didnt feel welcome in the store. Second time, my waiter took at least 10 minutes to get to us just to take our drink order... then she pointed out that she knew me from somewhere and rudely made it clear she didnt like my boyfriend (who wasnt at the store with me). Third time, the two girls hardly spoke, didnt know where anything was, had to go to the back kitchen at least two times, and ended up putting a dish into our to-go box without us knowing and let us leave with it. Im not sure if thats the way the rules are, but it made us highly uncomfortable when we realized what had happened. This place seems full of high school girls who arent receiving the right training or discipline. I absolutely love the dessert but feeling unwelcome surely isnt worth the food.
I haven’t even been there yet but noticed they are opening a new location near my home on Indiana, but to be honest after reading the reviews on service and the owners response to people I’m skeptical now if will even try. I’m a big fan of Crepes and Scones so I’m torn. We may give it one shot after they open and I’ll update my review but I’m concerned that the owners sound like they’re absentee. You can have the best tasting food on earth but if service is terrible the entire experience is terrible. I’ve eaten $1.00 hotdogs and had a blast because of the employee and I’ve eaten $100 steaks and been disgusted by lousy service.Anyone who owns a business should know if a customer has bad service they will tell 10-20 people face to face about it within 1 week and 5-10 of the people they told will tell 1-5 people about it. Now that study was done in 1996, with the advent of the internet when I have lousy service I tell Just on Facebook alone my 5000 friends and then they share my experience many times you get the hint, treat people right. Now add in Instagram and Twitter and wowWhat a loss of sales, hint kiss the customers butt to get them to come in andYou the owner Make Sure they have a great experience.
Great place to get some really good deserts. My favorites are the bread pudding and the Tres Leches cake. I have also had the bananas foster fondue and it was excellent
The desserts were delicious and the young lady working tonight was super helpful. Ill be stopping by again the next time my sweet tooth starts calling.
Food is good but its not worthy for the portion size we got. Crepe as shows on picture is $8, and Gelato is around $5. However, their stuff were very nice and friendly, and its a cute place for girls hangout.
A delicious dessert bar that will leave you wanting more and more. A fun atmosphere and delicious treats! Good coffee too, this place will get you hooked.
I went to Crave for the first time a couple of days ago. My server Taylor was very friendly and quite helpful. She suggested the brown cow cheesecake it was delicious.
Joel was so helpful and friendly. It was my first time here. He explained the menu selections to me and I had an enjoyable experience
Extremely expensive and looks like most items came from the grocery store. Might have been good at one point in the past but looks like its been let go. Girls working seem to have nothing to do but socialize with each other. For $30 on dessert, I was not impressed!
Go in and get a strawberry and Nutella crepe right now! Trust me, you won’t regret it. AMAZING!!
Went in on a Thursday evening with my 4 daughters so it was not very crowed. Was not greeted by anyone but was asked if they could help. I asked if they had any gluten free deserts and was told the only thing they had gf was the macaroons. So we decided to try them. First I was taken aback that they cost $3.75 per macaroon, I mean these things are tiny. Anyway, we got the box of six which cost $23. We needed to get home so we ate them in the car and even my kids said they weren’t the best macaroons they had had. They were chewy and the matcha green tea was tasteless. It tasted like paste. Aweful! We won’t be back based on the fact that 1. Service was sub par, not very friendly 2.The prices are high 3. Product was not great. For the cost I expected much more.
I enjoyed visiting this place... great desserts and the service is great. Friendly server Taylor was a very respectful.
Went to get a cut, color and highlights. Went with Angela. She was awsome, did exactly what I asked. Extremely satisfied with the entire experience and the staff was friendly, place was up beat. Will be back.
Was a bit skeptical after reading other reviews. Service was great and our desserts tasted great. Coffee was good too.
Joel was in charge of a small graduation party on 5/21/17. He did a phenomenal job and catered to everything for us. Amazing service and attitude!!
The cookies I ordered were horrible. I ordered 5 cookies to give to some friends as a surprise, they were smushed, hard, and just thrown in a tiny bag on top of each other. Also ordered 5 macaroons and they did not taste very fresh. It was$30 total so I was not happy.
Sadly, the service was very poor...I mean really poor. And the desserts here less than good. We tried the bread pudding and the carrot cake. The bread pudding was hard and near impossible of eat and the carrot cake was obviously frozen and definitely not worth $8.We were so sad that this experience was so bad...we really wanted to like it. I should have listened to other reviewsites.
Pretty average. They dont make the vase majority of their desserts in house. Ie. Store bought cheesecakes. The prices are high and the crepes are not even that great. We were disappointed although the atmosphere is nice, the flavor just isnt there...
Great place! The Nutella pie and the fondue are my favorites. My server is usually Taylor, shes awesome and willing to answer questions about anything!
Good dessert and clean shop everytime we go. The crepes made right in front of you nice and hot great fun place for dates. Prices range from $5-$8 but honestly youre not paying less in a restaurant and these taste way better than anything Ive gotten in LBK
The most unexpected great place Ive been in Lubbock
Went with a few of my friends a couple of days ago and had a very horrible experience. We ordered a two glass of their sweeest wine and was given the most bitter wine Ive ever tasted. While my dish came out 15 minutes after we sat down the second dish took a whole 25 minutes later to come out. And then the last dish took another 20 minutes to come out! So none of us were able to enjoy our dessert together because waiting would have made the dish cold and melted the whipped topping. Food is very pricey and just not that good enough to back. Especially because of how long they took to make.
Sweet surprise; service with a smile & love the atmosphere
We were looking for something sweet and ended up here. My husband and I got one slice of carrot cake and a medium cup of gelato(the size was more like a small) and we we walked out paying 15 bucks. Pretty pricy to me. The cake was pretty good so if your willing to spend the buck go for it :)
Good dessert.
My friends and I wanted to visit Crave. We have talked about going for weeks. Today we stopped in and got a slice of your 3 Layer Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Syrup and Whipped Cream. We got the order to go and we went back to our office. My friends and I split the cake into 3 slices and we all dug into our cake. Bummer! The cake was not moist, very dry and seemed several days old. We are all very disappointed! I cannot believe that I spent $8.66 on a very disappointing slice of chocolate cake.
This place is great! I used to work here and it was a wonderful job. But I came in recently and they had one girl working all by her self and it was so busy! I asked her why she hasnt called anyone in and she said her manager wouldnt let her!....what? And then she said she was closing by herself....shes 17! She was obviously super busy and had people getting mad because she had all these orders and no one to help her and on top of that shes a 17 year old girl having to close by her self so she would be getting out of there around midnight and that means she will be alone because no other store stays open that late and world of beer is right there so that means the possibility of drunk men coming out around that time. To me its all sketchy.
My husband and I came to Crave for dessert after dinner... we waited 7 minutes for someone to even come to our table to take our order. At that time we order a crepe to split for desert... 20 minutes later they hadnt even started to make the crepe... which is likely because they fullfilled the orders of 3 other tables that came in after us, and ordered after us! Ohhhhh, and the one gentlemen who makes the crepes was busy busting tables!!!... Wish I could tell you if it was any good or not, but we left. ? ? ? ? ?
I ordered a Nutella and banana crepe, and it was fabulous!! I love crepes and this one was perfect.
First of it was very hot in the bldg. Bread pudding good. But all is way, way over priced!
Went last night as an after date snack. There were 3 workers behind the case, we were not greeted by any. We asked a few questions about what some of the desserts were and each worker had to ask another worker, they dont even know their own menu! The case was near empty and most of the gelato gone as well. We ordered an 8$ slice of cheesecake (that looked store bought) it came with mwhipped cream, we asked for fruit too. There were three groups of people dining in the store, and every table but two were dirty and filled with plates/cups, the coffee pot was empty. Funny considering two of the three workers were scrolling on their phones? Its clear there is not much pride of ownership here. We wont return and I wouldnt recommend.
Simply amazing! The gelato and cake were so delicious, and as soon as Im not pregnant I will be adding a glass of champagne to my order!
Delicious keto & sugar free options! Owner was very accommodating.
Great desserts but a bit too pricey.
Helpful staff, they recommended not only the cake I chose, but I got a glass of wine for their 20% happy hour. Big smiles and happy taste buds all around for this group.
Gotten red velvet cake, taylor and cotton were amazing! definitely will come back
Quaint and relaxing dessert shop! You cant go wrong with any of the choices here at Crave!
Got the creme brulee and it was delicious!
Didnt even get to try anything. Only one employee working who didnt even bother to acknowledge that we were there. Waited 10 minutes with one couple in front of us and finally just left.
The desserts are good but way too expensive. The staff are alright but slow and inconsiderate. It took forever to get our order and not a single person seemed to know what was going on.
Not friendly, over staffed in my opinion. The desserts are extremely over priced for what you get. Never going again.
Joel was fantastic!!! Wonderful service for our private party! Amazing food and service!! Thank you so so much Joel and the Crave staff!!
Received via UberEatz. The cheesecakes tasted like they had been sitting out all day. The coke was flat. The fried smores we ordered were forgotten, the 2 banana pudding we ordered had to be decreased to 1 because they were out. I called 6 times to this restraunt once I receieved my order, and no one picked up the phone. The moment I called using another phone number, they picked up. If this is the way they conduct business, I give them less than 30 days. AWFUL FOOD.
This place is so much fun. Delicious dessert and great atmosphere.
Ive never had gelato or whatever it was. working wasnt helpful into informing me even though I was referring to it as ice cream. Me and my son got these over sized cookies and spent 10.00! Way to expensive will not go back.
Delicious desserts. A little pricey, but yummy.
An absolute must for dessert. Great dessert, good atmosphere, and amazing service.
Very friendly business woman, loves the time spent there
Joel was a great server. Great vibes and yummy food!
My wife loves this place. Its fun to watch her and company play with the steno cookers. The selection of treats seems cute but they are chinchy with their fondue chocolate. Im not a sweets person so i get a beer and watch the theatrics. Unfortunately their beer selection is wildly inconsistent as it consists of a small cooler with about 10 beers in it. They also have wine but its not a subject im versed in. World of beer is not open yet but in the future ill just head over there while others come to crave to play with their snacks.
Super friendly staff and will definitely come back!
We wanted to try this place when it first opened, but we ended up walking out due to the lack of friendliness. Nobody even acknowledged we were there...We decided to try it again after several months of them being open, and Im sad to report that nothing has changed. 4 employees, 2 tables, my husband and I at the counter (we were ordering to go) and not a single employee said a word to us. When we were ready to order, still nothing. The fact that these people get paid between $10.50-12/hour is a joke.On top of the lack of service, the price was too high for the quality of the desserts.Im all about giving places a second chance, and Im glad we did. But we for sure wont be returning.
Great cookies and cream gelato. Hazelnut cheesecake is delicious.
Joel was great!!! He had patience with all of our questions since it was our first time at Crave....it was delicious!!!
Went into Crave with a friend and was a little disappointed. First off is the prices: 4 dollars for a cold macaron (they arent meant to be cold for those of you wondering) and 8 dollars for a single piece of cheesecake. You would think they outrageous prices would mean extremely good products, but sadly no. My cheesecake was decent by not re-purchase worthy. But heres the kicker: the worst part of my experience was the sanitation. There were Clorox wipes and cleaners on the counter near the food. All of the supplies in their cabinets is visible and disorganized. The cases were dirty and not well managed and the cashiers DID NOT wear gloves when helping the majority of customers. I will probably not be going back.
Always great customer service here! I work next door and I always come get coffee and a small desert and Joel is usually there and always helps me out!
Good but way too expensive!!
Fire didnt work on the fondue...no one came back...no napkins when smores are messy...if you are sitting outside, the back door doesnt open. Atmosphere and ideas were awesome but executing was horrible especially for the price.
My friend and I visited Crave for the first time around 7:30PM on a Friday. We walked in and were greeted by a very unnecessary hostess, she walked us to our table and proceeded to tell us that if we went to the counter to look at gelato and someone asked us what we were doing to just tell them we had a table which was odd.Our server came to our table with water almost immediately, but was unpersonable. We asked her about items on the menu and she proceeded to give no insight. I asked for the wine menu and ordered the Strawberry Frosé which was a waste of $8. Tasted like 3 drops of wine and premade strawberry smoothie mix.My friend got a gelato waffle cone and it was decent. We shared the Grand Central Station crepe which was another $8 mistake. It was made entirely of store bought ingredients. Hersey kissses chocolate sauce, canned whipped cream and poorly crumpled brownie bites.Went to the restroom and got a peak at their back room which was filled with cases of store bought ingredients. Overall it was a waste of money for the below average desserts. I will be surprised if this business makes it past a year.
