Drove from Indiana the day before my sons wedding in Madison. Started hearing a rubbing noise in the back of the van when I got off the interstate. The next morning I took it to Midas, and Mark was already there with the coffee brewing. I needed the van before 2pm, and Mark was able to lend me a car to get back to the hotel. Mark and his team was able to diagnose the issue with the rear brakes, and fix it by just after Noon. Drove that van to the wedding with no issues. Also drove it around for another 600 miles since and no noises. Excellent job.
Good guys and fast, fair service. Have had several oil changes and a tire issue and have been very happy with the honest and helpful customer service. They know what theyre doing.
Awesome experience. They went above and beyond. Took care of my needs.
Got around an $800 quote for front brake repairs, not only did Midas stand behind beating the price quote, but also found I only needed a typical brake job. So instead of $800+ down the street I was taken care of for around $400 instead. Go here first folks!!!
I had a t/c light on. they charged me $119 to hook up a handheld thing that costs $39.99 at Walmart to instantly diagnose the problem. that fee set them far more expensive than most places that i called later because i wanted to prepare myself for future problems. most places wouldve charged $400 (they dont charge diagnostic fees) for what midas charged me $760 (it was a wheel bearing that needed to be replaced). dont go here if you need to diagnose anything
BEWARE! Recently went here for a diagnosis for exhaust issues. The car was getting loud and losing power so I figured it was a flex pipe issue. Left it for these guys to figure out whats going on and they gave the news about the flex pipe and resonator, offering to fix it for $1.3k. I felt like it was a bit much to say the least so I took it to another shop and to my surprise, they gave a completely different diagnosis that was literally 10xs cheaper. Had he other shop fix the issue and my car is as quiet and powerful as the day it came off the showroom floor. I cant believe how much this place was attempting to overcharge me. BE WARY OF THEIR SHADY PRACTICES! THEY WILL OVER ESTIMATE THE ISSUE AND GAUGE PRICESS ASTRONOMICALLY!
They ripped me off Im gonna sue you guys if I dont get my money back
Originally quoted $330, then it went up to $900+ When they realized I needed new calipers. Got a loaner car that I was told had an issue with the fuel cell and that the gas gauge was stuck on E and the low fuel light was on. They ordered wrong part, so repairs took an extra 2 days. the car stopped working on the beltline. Midas told me to get it towed thru their guy, and I got a ride back to the shop. After leaving with my fixed car, I got a call telling me the gas was empty and that I owed over $100 for the full tank and the tow. Other shops will do complete brake jobs for cheaper, and will likely give you a loaner car that won’t fail. All in all, they did fix the car and I did need a loaner- which they had..... edited since all they did was send a link to the “contact us” portion of their website and have not replied. After arguing with the “manager” I received a bill in the mail for over $116. Called to make payment, but it was managers day off so nobody could help. If something is actually done on their part to help, I may edit the review but this is garbage service.
Fast and professional qork highly recommend them in a quick bind call to set an appointment ahead of time to make sure they can get you in quickly
Made an appointment to get 4 new tires put on. Got there got right in. They said it would take about 45 minutes and timing was right on. My warning light for low tire pressure was on and that still is on. Dont know why that didnt go off.
I had to get my oil changed 3 separate times because they kept using the wrong gasket. I drive a Toyota, hardly a unique car. The folks are nice, but steer clear and go elsewhere.Update: Car still leaked oil. So I went to a reputable mechanic who confirmed they damaged the oil pan.
Extremely expensive...$129/hr... but get the job done. The amount of hours seems high too.Originally this review was 3 stars. But when I followed up with them per the comment below, they havent responded. If they eventually respond in some meaningful way, Ill edit this review.
Went there for an issue with an oil leak. Got a call a couple days later and was told that it was a hose replacement, I asked the price, he told me specifically 286$, which I immediately told my wife in a text because I was really hoping it wouldnt be costly. When the job was done he told me $615 and said I mustve misheard heard the price quote. Im pretty sure when its my money being spent on a repair that I would be paying close enough attention not completely misunderstand a number to something completely different that doesnt even sound close to the same. Worst part, my car is now worse than it was when I took it in. I wouldnt doubt if they messed with something because of me not being happy with the misquote. Or hoping for me to have to come back. Thats an obvious paranoia of mechanics but this is the first time Ive felt it was true. I will never return and id think twice before going there. Im also 90% the person who was arguing and being unprofessional was the Manager Justin. So if thats coming from the Manager theres no avoiding it. Do not waste your money
I have gone here for over 10 years and this was my last time. I went to get a valve stem replaced, an oil change and ac repaired. $376 later valve replaced and oil change. Nothing fixed on ac!! They tripled the price of the same parts I could get them and then you pay to get in!!! This location has been getting worse over the last few years and now they are down right scammers!!! Stay away from there many other places to fix your car that done try to scam!!!
The people at Midas were very friendly and knowledgeable. The worker I spoke with, and I apologize for forgetting his name, was honest with the whole process. The price was also more reasonable than other places I have went to before.
Just made the switch from Goodyear to Midas (literally as I just got home from my appointment) and so glad I did. David was great- he helped me understand exactly what was going on with my car and gave great recommendations. Cost was completely reasonable for the work that needed to be done.Since moving to Madison I’ve been looking for a shop I can trust and have a good feeling I found it.
Very helpful. I’m a new driver and they don’t try to rip me off or anything so I appreciate that. Very detailed and quick work, Would recommend. Will be my mechanics for the foreseeable future 👍
What an excellent experience with the staff here at Midas. Work was efficient and approached with care. I had asked the staff to help me put on my new license plates and the process was a bit tricky given the frozen screws on the plates themselves. The team did a phenomenal job in ensuring the old plates were removed and the new ones put in place. The crew stayed a bit later to accommodate my request and I greatly appreciate that!I look forward to coming back for future additional repairs. Greatly appreciate the positive and professional attitude of the staff, very welcoming!
Got a tire change. Great prices & great customer service.
Very helpful
David and his crew on East Wash are trustworthy and reliable. They gave us several discounts and did a great job. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a mechanic they can trust!
I ran over an exacto knife blade on my way to the grocery. I stopped at this Midas, which is nearby, and everyone was so nice and they looked at my tire right away.I would definitely recommend these people.
Went in thinking I needed front Nd rear brakes done and they said only rear needed replacement
Everyone is super friendly and knowledgeable! The waiting area is super comfortable, clean, free coffee and plenty of reading material. I usually have bad experiences with mechanics but, they actually treat you like a human here. Definitely will be my regular mechanic.
I brought my car in for a couple different issues. The manager Dave and his staff were very knowledgeable, nice, and fast. I felt at ease here knowing they were taking care of me. I will definitely refer my friends and family here.
These guys were AMAZING! Their schedule was open and I got an appt with the next day. It did take a whole hour after arriving to get my car in garage but it looked like only two mechanics were doing their thing so its understandable. Due to time constraints on my part I had to ask them to skip the oil change with the guy was just about to start and just change my brakes. Not a single time did he gripe or grumble. He shifted gears and got my brakes down in less than an hour. The employees here are super polite, friendly, and patient. HIGHLY recommend giving these people your hard earned money for their service.
Ive had tires done here, oil changes and minor muffler repair. Ive always been satisfied with the quality of the work and the reasonable prices. The manager at this location is super friendly and pleasant to work with. Ill keep bringing my car here. Always a good experience!
My wife and I were stuck in Madison driving from Indiana to Minneapolis when our alternator went out. We were at Good Year and they kept telling us different times. We then went over to Midas to talk to Dave. They were very helpful letting us know that they could do the repair and were helping us get a rental so we could make it in time for the Rehearsal Dinner. As we were trying to set up a rental Dave came to us and said they could get it done for us and get us to the dinner on time. They then let us use a car to go get food and the mall while we waited. They were done in no time and we made it in time for our dinner. Could not thank the crew enough for their work. Always trust the Midas touch.
Excellent
My car had a terrible grinding on the weekend with both my kids in the back seat. They had an appointment for me within the hour and provided a loaner car at no extra cost. The whole issue was fixed within 2 hours and very affordable.
They fixed my car just big on price
Called the store and got Manager Dave who got me in an hour and a half before they closed on a Saturday to patch a tire! Only took 45 mins, he even made sure all my tires had the correct pressure. Great customer service! I would definitely go back.
Dave is always helpful, informative and very transparent when discussing my needs. He makes sure he is very thorough when explaining what my car needs and what can wait until my next visit. I appreciate, not only what they do for my car, but also being considerate what I can and cant afford at the time. Thanks!
GREAT PLACE!! Had a tire blow out and only had 2 hours before my shift. Walked in and received the best customer service. Was in and out in less than an hour with an oil change as well! Thank you guys so much!!
Seriously never going anywhere else for my car! Dave and his team were not only kind and had GREAT customer service but they made some amazing recommendations and kept my budget in mind. I had a flat that they fixed, within hours and at a great price. They didnt take advantage of me or try upselling me on things I didnt need, either which I find always happens at many other shops. Their interactions with me felt real and sincere with my best interest at top. David is AMAZING and his team is too, I wish I knew of them earlier. Im getting my winter tires and all other needs done by only them moving forward!
Went into this Midas location to figure out what was clunking in the front end of my car, and for a quick oil change. The employees and manager there were extremely helpful, they got me in and had the issue solved and taken care of in a very timely manner as I was only able to get there on my lunch break. I highly recommend them!
I cant describe enough how thankful I am for Dave and his team at Midas. I brought my car in without an appointment because my brakes were acting up. I needed to drive home 3+ hours the next day and wanted to make sure the car was safe to make the trip. He squeezed me in right away, talked me through what the problem was, and found the cheapest possible option for me. He was kind and considerate, and got my car back in just over an hour. Great service and great people!
The mechanics were very friendly, direct, and obviously had passion in the work they were doing. They clarified anything that needed work and asked for my preference without being pushy. Great people and shop.
Really great service! Very speedy and reliable staff. If You have a problem with your car I recommend taking it to Midas On East Washington. These guys know what there doing two thumbs up!!!
I go here for all my car repair and maintenance needs now. The manager and all the employees are very friendly and knowledgeable and will go the extra mile for you. I have been coming here for many years and totally trust them.
Good service and prices. Quality work
Set up an appointment for an oil change and a tire rotation. They took about an hour to work on my car. When they finally finished they told me they couldnt take my tires off so they didnt end up rotating the tires. And to add onto all of that they charge me $40 for a simple oil change that took at least 45minutes
So, I had just finished up at work, when I noticed that my truck tire was flat. I had just enough air left to drive it over to Midas. When I came in they were busy, but offered to help. I explained that it was my sons 2nd Birthday and I was in a Hurry! They got my truck in right away and were able to repair the tire, instead of having to buy a new one! The repair price was very reasonable. A big THANKS to David @ Midas!I really appreciate it! Excellent customer service!
I am from Georgia and was passing through Madison, WI on June 8, 2017. While on the interstate, my tire pressure sensor came on. I immediately took the next exit and and went into a store parking lot and found a slow leak in my tire. I searched the internet from my phone and found a tire store (a national chain)close by and went there to have the tire patched. I was promptly told that they were booked with appointments and I would have to come back the next day. He offered no assistance. He told me I could try another store close by. I went down the street and pulled into the Midas and went in and explained my situation. I spoke with David Key and Marc Johnson and they were both happy to help. They checked the tire and found that it couldnt be patched and explained why. They offered to take my spare off and put it on to get me back home. Everyone at the store understood my situation and all were very helpful. We even traded a few friendly jabs about the Falcons and Packers (Go Falcons!) They got me back on my way and wished me well. Thank you all for turning a bad situation into a pleasant experience!
Great Service and great people.
Ive gone to these guys a couple of times and have been impressed with their friendliness. I know jack about cars, admittedly, but Ive shopped around and tend to compare the advice Im given between shops. Theyve thus far been consistent. Theyve never given me a reason not to trust them. Theyre up front with their charges and there havent been any surprises.
I decided to buy a used car. Went to a dealership and found a car truly liked. Someone told me I should bring it to Midas to have it looked at first and boy am I glad I did. They found issues right off the bat one of which was unfixable. Because of the professional, knowledgeable staff at this location, I was saved from buying a car that was not worth the money. Somewhat heartbroken because I wanted that car, I found another car and brought that one for them to look at as well. They found a few minor issues that the dealership agreed to fix. Thanks to Midas I have peace of mind. They have made a life long Customer out of me.
I come here off and on over the last 10 years. Im thankful they were able to squeeze me in on a Saturday for a headlight bulb. They are usually busy so I wouldnt do a walk in. Call ahead for an appointment. The waiting room has comfortable seats and television. Theres a public restroom as well. I havent had any problems with their work. Customer communication really varies with each person though. Sometimes you feel appreciated and sometimes you get hung up on.
Knowledgeable staff and great customer service! Satisfied with work Ive gotten done every time! Thank you Dave, Justin, Daron and crew for your great work!
Did not plug my abs brakes back in went right back replaced bearings in the original wheel was complaining of problems with. However they didnt tighten the lug nuts on the wheel after. Thankfully took to dealership and they took care of. Midas did reimberse for dealership repairs. Still have big bill to pay Midas for work they may or maynot have done. Believe that more damage was done to front end due to their incompetence. Would not recommend Midas to anyone.
Ive been a long time Midas customer in Minnesota and was not as happy with my experience here at the East Washington Midas. I went in for a muffler replacement. Expensive and customer service lacking.
Went in today for an oil change and inspection for an upcoming trip. Fast, thorough, courteous. The happiest I have ever been taking my truck to a shop
I have gone to Midas twice in the last couple weeks to get my car ready for winter. The manager Dave and the staff were friendly, professional and timely. I will definitely go back and tell people to go here! Thank you!
Dave and his crew here at Midas are truly top notch!!! They repair what’s needed and let you know what will be needed. Prices are very reasonable, and the staff is super professional. I thank them for all the work they have done!!!
Gud place for ur car care
Excellent Service! I went in for an oil change, they noticed a fuse to my taillights was blown, and replaced for only the cost of the fuse. Good looking out Midas!
Had gotten new tie rods so I needed to get an alignment and this time of year everyone is busy getting tires and service done and gave them a called book an appt., meanwhile replaced my old battery as well Was in and out within an hour their service was excellent and prices are reasonable
Lost heat in truck passing through Madison, temps were -21 below. Had to stay the night came in Midas first thing sat morning. Worried about a nightmare visit but they were fair and upfront, actually said it might be as simple as the radiator cap, it wasnt but shows they look at the easiest fix first. A couple hundred dollars later and the family is on to the next adventure. Thanks for the help guys.
I went in today (4/11/17) to see what was making the noise in the front end of my car. I thought it might be something in the suspension and it turned out that it was. It was a broken sway bar pin, a set of these will cost you about $25 (Brand name like AC Delco) yet their price was $93.98 plus another $81.60 for labor for about a 1/2 hour job with the right tools like they have. I asked about the high price for the parts and was told by the manager We dont stay in business unless we sell the parts at full retail. I understand all that but why would it cost almost 400% more than the parts would be at an auto parts store? Gouged, definitely!! Although my concern was about a noise in the suspension, they pulled out the CABIN AIR FILTER and tried to get me to pay them $35 for a new one ($9 or less for an AC Delco filter at a parts store). Why they were messing around pulling out air filters when that definitely had NOTHING to do with what I went in there?? (Trying to build a higher invoice of course!) Their service/price chart on the wall about the service counter shows Courtesy Inspection = FREE but they tried to charge me $22 for that!!!I needed the suspension fixed TODAY or I would have done it myself; its simply remove/replace two long bolts with rubber bushings on each end. If you go to this shop be prepared to be price gouged on parts and charged more shop time than reasonable and watch out for their attempts to sell you things you didnt go there for. Stay alert, they will try to charge you for things that they advertise as FREE (Courtesy Inspection) and try to sell you things you didnt go there for like cabin air filters that you can easily change yourself.
We are from GA and had traveled all the way to Montana and was on our way home when we had a problem with a tire. Stoppped at Tires Plus, they told us, sorry were booked, come back tomorrow. Went here and folks were SUPER NICE!! Got us back on the road in just a little while. Man said they were booked too but we dont turn away a stranded traveler. Super super nice!! 5* all the way!!
Customer oriented staff, great quick service.Very satisfying experience.
Came in with noise in rear of my car when braking. They came up with a solution that fit my budget. Also gave me some recommendations that will save me money down the road. Dave and his crew were great.
I went to Midas due to some issues I was having with my car. They were very courteous and professional. I was very pleased with the service and will be returning.
We had a problem with our tire pressure being low. We stopped by and John was super helpful. He checked the tire pressure on all our tires and made sure there was nothing wrong with them!!! Will definitely do buisness there again!!
The service I had was very good. Thank you. Good job
Professional staff, quality work, fast and efficient. I wont take my cars anywhere else. Its the kind of shop you can trust not to add unneeded work.
The manager of the company was really nice and courteous. He did a great job. Super satisfied with services rendered
Thank you so much to Dave at East Washington Midas! My car was low on coolant and he got me right in and checked it for me and added some right away. I had tried Firestone and Auto zone and had received TERRIBLE customer service! Im from out of town and am on business and was feeling panicked on what to do. Midas was a lifesaver. Thank you so so much! I will be sure to recommend to my family and friends.
I have been here a few times in the last two years, mostly because it is convenient. Each time I got terrible service, very high quotes, and was treated rudely. I would highly recommend trying a different place.
Wanted to use $19.95 coupon offered on website for oil change and tire rotation. They said don’t honor that but would do it for $29.95. I said ok I will pay the extra $10. After i left noticed that tires were probably not rotated. Call back and they said no they weren’t. I said that is why I paid extra. They said come back in they would do it for free....free it’s what i paid for and only reason I didn’t go to woodmans like I usually do for $20 oil change. I wanted tires rotated. Don’t understand why the have coupons online and they don’t honor them either. I will rotate them myself.
We received great service! Dave is very knowledgeable and honest! He and his team are awesome!
Strongly recommended. The manager was great and the staff was quick and reliable. Great service.
4 minutes off highway 90. They fit me in at 4pm for a new brake line while on a business trip. Great service!
Great customer service from David! Helped me get back on the road with four new tires at a great deal.
These guys are great. They always get me in and out quickly, and are very good at explaining everything to me. Would reccomend to others.
Went to Midas to have the oil changed on my truck before I moved to Saint Paul, Mn. When taking with the technician I informed him I was moving and he suggested I get the oil change deal buy 2 oil changes for 70$. The technician said I was able to use the 2nd oil change at any Midas. Today I go in for my free oil change in Saint Paul and the technician says it is only valid at the Midas in Madison. I call the Midas in Madison to explain my situation and Alex the assistant manager says I am out of luck and their is nothing he can do. No transfer, no credit back, nothing. Pretty disappointed because I was lied to and I spent exactly 78.27$ on ONE oil change. I dont think Ill ever go back.
Always quick with my oil changes and super friendly! Never had them go over either a time or money estimate, and they communicate well with any changes that may arise.
I went to midas last week to have some work done on my brakes and to get tires and my experience was great..very friendly manager and staff. fast and reasonably priced. thanks midas.
These guys will charge you an arm and a leg, but they are open on the weekend and able to get the work done, so...
Great work and timely visit. Friendly staff.
I took my toyota prius in to get two new rear tires and an oil change before a trip to visit family in ohio two days later I get in the car turn it on the tire pressure light was on go take a look both rear tires are nearly flat being in another state I call the store and they said bring it in when you can so today I take it in and the beads are leaking on both rear tires i was charged another $80 to fix what they should have done when they installed the tires to begin with the attitude of the assistant manger was completely rude and snarky putting it politely I have never seen anyone or been treated this badly in 20+ years of customer service I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy save yourself the hassle and take your vehicles somewhere they will treat you right or least properly install your tires not to leak we spent a total of $535 + the $80 to have leaking tires be treated like its all your fault and leave the place feeling like unwanted garbage and like you pretty much got scammed. DONT TAKE YOU CARS HERE!
HANDS DOWN THE WORST AUTO SERVICE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. If you are thinking of taking your car to this place, let me save you a trip. Punch yourself in the crotch a few times & then go slash one of your car tires. You have now had an experience far preferable to actually dealing with these guys. My fiancee got a flat tire this morning on her way to work. Luckily she had recently (within 4 months) purchased the road hazard package on a set of new tires purchased & installed by this location. If you buy this package you are supposed to be covered for a bunch of things, one of which is free tire repair or replacement. So I drove to her work, had her call Midas & let them know what happened, that she had the hazard package etc. and I would be on my way over. I removed the flat, threw it in my car and drove to Midas thinking this would be a simple repair or replacement. Once there, the man at the counter looked at the tire and said the serial number didnt match the numbers of the tires they had put on. Right away he stated that It could have been just a computer input error on their part, but hed need to see the other tires to be sure. So I had to drive back to her work, put the spare tire on and drive back to Midas so they could see the rest of the tires. I pulled up & the guy took one look and knew that they had indeed messed up the serial numbers. He just said Ok and pulled the car in. No apology for the error or for the time I had to waste going back and forth. So I sit there for 20 minutes or so. Finally the other counter guy comes over and says Oh just to let you know, we dont have that tire in stock. We had to send somebody to go pick one up. It doesnt take us this long to change a tire. Awesome! So I sit there. Guy finally shows up with the tire. Then I sit there for another 25 minutes or so. All told, it took these jerks well over an hour to change 1 single tire. Then one of the counter guys comes over and lets me know that The tire is covered for free, but the labor for putting the tire on isnt. So now they get to charge me $33 for something I was going to do myself in the first place! Any company that values customers wouldve just apologized for the hassle and eaten the labor charge to MAYBE save a customer. But these guys arent that smart. Ive actually had them screw other things up before too, but this has been the last straw. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE FOR ANYTHING. Punch yourself in the crotch. Youll thank me later.
Fast, friendly service not a long wait at all the Manager Dave was very knowledgeable & Alex was efficient in explaining what was needed.
Knowledgeable, fast, very helpful. Loaners available if needed.
I brought my car in last night and Dave had it ready for me right away this morning. I cant thank you enough for taking care of my baby. #iamamidasnewcustomer.
They do long as possible to charge hours rate.
Good service and fair prices the manager David very pleasant will be back
Great service
They were kinda rude.
Way too much up-pricing. You go in for a specific job & they try to convince you to have every little thing fixed on your vehicle. Not immediate fixes or relevant fixes to the original issue, mind you. I learned my lesson this time & wont be returning.
Alex has been extremely helpful every time Ive come in. Excellent work, decent prices and top notch service.
Good place to change your oil
I went in to get two tires put on. While sitting in the waiting room I watched the technician that was working on my car drop my rim. When I got my car back I noticed that both rims had a few fresh scratches on them (my rims had scratches previous to this visit.) I showed the manager and he said that since I all ready had scratches, they couldnt do anything about this situation. Also I noticed a grease spot on the hood of my car and a greasy hand print on the pillar in my car. This is completely unacceptable. The technician that worked on my car in a incompetent mechanic and needs to pay attention to detail. Management needs to learn how to cater to the customers. Never again will I take my finely tune automobile to Midas!
Dave almost had me crying! I love this place great customer service and I recommend this place to everyone!!!!!
With the coupon and the original estimate I saved $50.00 from the quote I received from Jon Lancaster. The sales rep was friendly and the two hour estimate for changing my coolant and transmission fluids was right on. I intend to return, once more at least.
They will SCAM you! They quoted my 2-wheel brake repair at $981. Blains Farm and Fleet ended up fixing me up for $177. This is why I dont trust men fixing my car...
Took care of me but I think they made more money on me than what was needed.
Well, go here if you want inconsistent pricing and condescending management. Called the Park St. location to get a quote on brakes and was quoted $150 for the front, $100 for the back. I canceled the appointment to go to this closer location and received a quote of $520 from the manager Kevin after overcharging (to which the owner Jeff Turner admitted). I used a coupon I found online to knock the price down to $470, but was still greatly overcharged on what they considered necessary hardware. Funny thing about this hardware is that it is support accessories that I was charged more than $90 for installing. Im not at all surprised by this after finding out that the auto techs work on commission.Bottom line - the stores dont charge consistently, and after confronting this, I was told that the less expensive store simply got it wrong. After checking around, its clear that Midas of Madison is not only expensive, but it isnt trustworthy.
