Even though they were not able to fix my vehicle, they did not charge anything even though they bought an expensive part and spent at least several hours working on it. They recommended I take it to a dealership. Very honest and treated more than fairly.

Fast service! Affordable. Interesting men to work with though. Don’t get lost in conversations with Kevin, funny guy but man… he’ll rip the political system to shreds if he notices a bumper sticker that supports anything .. and I mean anything.

I come from a family of mechanics, so this was my first venture going to a shop thats not my family (needed a starter asap and didnt want to tow the car an hour away). Would recommend Nakoma Plaza Auto to anyone and everyone. I have been a customer since I could drive and attribute the fact that my car has almost 300,000 miles on it to the great care that I have been given here. Had an appt. for Tuesday, brought my van in on Monday. . I got a call a couple hours later telling me my vehicle was finished. WOW!! First time here, I highly recommend this place. Friendly, fast and courteous.

Had electrical issues and came here for service, asking as well for a general inspection to make sure there were no other immediate problems. The electrical issues were fixed (at a rate higher than Id expect) and I was given an all-clear on other things. A week later I have a fuel leak and another shop tells me its so badly rusted and worn down underneath that its not worth the cost to fix it, 2+ grand. Evidently all it took was a visual inspection to tell me this, so I doubt it was ever done at this shop at all. Paid $400 for work on a car I now have to scrap a couple weeks later.Also I dont appreciate the attitude and looks I was given when discussing how long the car was sitting and potential problems it had. Not everyone knows (or has to know) cars, some of us specialize in other fields, and if its been sitting for awhile its probably because people didnt have the means to get it fixed.

Overall had a really good experience at Nakoma. They are not likely the cheapest option out there, but they got me in quick for diagnosis, were honest about what the issues were, got me in for repairs with in a day, and had my car back to me the same day. Time will tell on the quality of repair, but all initial indicators are positive. As with anything, the goal should be to get what you pay for, and I feel like I did with Nakoma, which is all you can ask these days.

So glad I found a place that doesnt charge to look at whats wrong with my carlabor rates can be expensive but to get a battery and a starter installed on my 1987 Chrysler Fifth Avenue including towing only cost $538really isnt too badalso they dont charge for storage fees if you are making payments on work they did which is really nice

By far the most unprofessional disorganized car repair shop Ive ever been to. Made an appointment 6 days ago for today to get a minor repair done, sat around for 15 minutes plus before I was even acknowledged. They were behind and couldnt get me in right away. Then after about 30 minutes found out they didnt even order the part for the repair I was supposed to get done. They were completely Unapologetic about their mistake and not being able to keep my appointment time. When I tried to discuss it with the owner he practically walked away. I was also planning on having them give me a quote for replacing a cam seal which is a big labor job, now I am going elsewhere for the work to be done. Their disorganization and unprofessionalism just cost them almost $1,000 in labor.

Have gone here for several years. I have always appreciated Dan making recommendations on what needed to be addressed right away, and things that didnt need to be done at that time. On two occasions I went in for brakes, my Windstar and my Tundra. On both occasions only the fronts were immediately needed to be done, with the Windstar he told me I could get through the winter and possibly spring with the rear brakes if I wanted. I appreciated that he didnt just say all brakes needed to be done. He also referred me to someone else when I went in to them for an issue with my Windstar transmission, as the issue I was having he was not able to address comfortably. Once again I appreciated his honesty. You hear so much about needing to find a honest mechanic, I feel that I have found that in Dan and Nakoma Auto.
