While I was at work I ordered from GCS. I ordered a blueberry muffin, with extra butter, and a turkey and bacon club, with no lettuce. The meal was enjoyable. Sadly, the restaurant appeared that they were out of butter, because when my food arrived I found a hand written note in my bag that simply said out of butter :(. Its sad that a customer had to go without when a restaurant located in the middle of the city cant send someone to the many grocery stores around to pick up an item as simple as butter. I resigned my fate and chose to take the blueberry muffin home to eat, rather than go without at work.Next up was the turkey and bacon club. The sandwich was a delight, despite a few flaws. The sandwich was dripping with liquid.. it was either the ranch sauce or bacon grease, and given its light flowing behavior I would hazard a guess that its ranch sauce. Secondly, I received a tomato on one half of my sandwich which should never have even been picked from the farmers fields, much less should it have made it through the selection process of acceptable produce for use in food items for serving a customer. This tomato was greener than Shrek, and just as hard and disgusting! The food was good, but they need to work on their stocking and food prep at the restaurant.
Worst coffee I have ever had. All I wanted was a double shot of espresso.. The girl on bar didnt know what that meant so she asked the guy working and he told her You just hit the 4 shot button they gave me 6 ounces of over extracted garbage. I assumed she was new so I nicely asked if they could pull me a double by hitting the double button instead of the 4 shot button and they didnt understand or know what they meant. The response was I only know what the owner told me. I will never be back. This us a just under halfway filled 12oz cup with there double shot of espresso usually 2 ounces....
My breakfast sandwich was super hot; but the meat was still frozen at the middle and was chilling the rest of the sandwich center. The bagel bottom was hard. The cappuccino tasted like regular drip coffee. The waiting time for seemingly “microwaved food” is unacceptable. The menu board lettering is too small. For the most part, the staff seemed very nice and the place was clean.
First time here, and it was great! I didn’t know what to get and the gentlemen behind the counter recommended me some drinks but my final decision was a caramel macchiato, and it was the perfect balance of coffee and sweet. I came here to study for a little bit and the atmosphere was great for it, not too many distractions, but instead the perfect amount to hold you accountable and stay focused on your work. Will definitely be back, thank you grounds central!
First of all the coffee was good, the store was clean and nice decorated. They definitely have a lot of options from coffee and tea and smoothies and more . The only point I want to mention was the coffee took 20 minutes to get ready bc only one person was working and took all the orders. The seating outside was nice and ppl were out enjoying the coffee, there was parking on the street in front of the store. Definitely going back again soon for coffee.
Went during class, they were really kind, I was offered a free drink ( idk why ) but it was really good, had my order out in less than 10 minutes, great atmosphere will be returning
Terrible service. Took 30 mins to get my drink. They should think about hiring more people. And the girl with the black hair has a attitude problem. Good thing they have another coffee shop in town
Great BLT. A little pricey but isnt everywhere. Great service and they were busy. Highly recommended.
Terrible. I got an egg, sausage, and cheese muffin to go and a bagel. When I got to eating it, it was burnt to a crisp and tasted awful. Further, the bagel was pretty boring. You’re better off getting some from the store. So much potential but it seems like no attention is given.
I ordered a coffee that basically tastes of milk and flavoring. Wheres the coffee? Wouldnt recommend
Good drinks, excellent service. Not getting 5 just because it has more dust than the good, the bad and the ugly behind the counter, the shelves and the floor
Was I on a hidden camera show? Did I get Punkd? This place is horrible.
Need to get better quality ham
Amazing food, friendly and patient staff, has a real family owned and operated kinda feel to it. We had a honeydew melon based boba and it’s was phenomenal. We also got ourselves a bagel. It’s a nice place to get a beverage and a small snack. The location is great. It’s right on Main Street but that also means that parking is a problem. Overall I will be visiting this place when I visit Historic Manassas again.
Stood in the shop for at least 10 minutes before even getting acknowledged. No one else here, just us and a barrista who wont even say Hi or Ill be right with you. Will not be coming back.
Went for a quick bite to take out. Nice enough. Decent lite breakfast menu. I got a breakfast panini. Of course the most expensive breakfast sandwich on the menu board. It was good. No reason to be so expensive though. My fault, I didn’t read the price.
The drink I ordered (Twilight) was good but the customer service was sub par. I might come back for the coffee and because apparently they have a chess board. Its a cute little place but it seems like they need more employees because the girl working there this morning was doing a lot by herself.
Decent coffee but poor, poor customer service. Everyone working there looks miserable and it takes forever to get your order. Also skip the paninis. Low quality ingredients and no flavor.
Not COVID-friendly, from my initial experience. Would expect more from a local, small business. Old style door pulls, requiring a full hands turn; no hand sanitizer easily -- or at all -- placed in view near door. Still shared coffee supplies (sugar, etc.), and almost everything is open air -- I sure wouldnt purchase any cookie from the selection. They require masks, so they have that going for them -- which is nice.
Well brewed and not too strong like Starbucks.
Cute place, great sandwiches, okay service. Two baristas were working when my friend and I arrived at 1:00 pm on a Sunday. The cashier was not friendly. She almost seemed annoyed by my questions. I asked if they sold bottled water, instead of her replying, she immediately rang me up for one. The other barista wasn’t friendly either. I said thank you for my sandwich upon receiving it with no response. Although the food and coffee were great, I will not return. Customer service is still important, just not for everyone, I guess. I’ll take my money elsewhere.
I usually enjoy their Bubble Iced Tea on a weekday early evening. However today’s visit was not a great experience. It was my first time going on a weekend. I got to the register behind a gentleman and when it was my turn no one told me to give them a moment or anything. I was ignored for almost 5 whole minutes until the panini guy finally asked me if my order had been taken. He finally took my order and then I waited only for my order to be put behind the person who ordered a good few minutes after me. My panini was great. But the chai was the worst I’ve ever tasted. Made only after I walked over to another side of the cafe for them to see that I’m waiting for an order. This whole time I was wearing my baby who couldn’t wear a mask being so small. My order took longer than it should have. The two ladies had no excuse to provide better customer service. On weekdays when I come and only one person is working i get better service than I did today when 3 people were working and it was the same level of busy.Thank you. This used to be my favorite cafe, but now I must find comfort elsewhere. I was going to give only one start but I added a star only because my bubble teas are usually great on a weekday and the panini guy today was the one who noticed me waiting and took my order when he wasn’t even the main register person. Thank you panini guy :)
Went into grounds central today to get something to drink. The person behind the counter was VERY RUDE. Did not even acknowledge me or ask if I was ready to order. She just ignored me and kept working on other things. I will NEVER visit this place again. The same thing happened the first time I went in, so I thought maybe it would be better. NOPE. Sad thing is that they were not even busy. I was the only one in the place. Wish I could give negative stars.
Very nice for a local coffee shop! Delicious cookies!
Nice cashier and yummy mocha iced coffee thanks.
Absolutely love this place! Matt is a very friendly business owner and makes very tasty products. I highly recommend this place!
Always a great experience Grounds Central. Best Coffee!
This urban coffee shop is cute! The food is great, and so is the hot chocolate. 🙂
My experience was terrible. I ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches, a bacon egg and cheese and a sausage egg and cheese. When I picked up the bagels I stated “are these the bacon egg and cheese and the sausage egg and cheese?” the cashier said “yes”. When I arrived back home I open the sandwiches to find NOTHING on them. When I tried to callback to express that they forgot everything on the sandwich, it took 7 callbacks to get a hold of someone. When the cashier who I talked too when I received my order picked up and I explained what had happened she blamed it on “the DoorDash driver picking up my order” then I had to explained to her “no, I picked it up and I spoke to you confirming my order.”If you do go here, I would recommend not to only check if you have your sandwich’s, but also to check if they actually put the proper ingredients on them.
This is one of the best coffee shops Ive been to across the US. They know their stuff and have amazing quality. We are so lucky to have them here in Manassas!
Great staff. Enormous choice of drinks. Ambience is genuine. Excellent location.
I’ve been making my own espresso at home for almost 2 years now using my Brevell barista express. I’ve tried many coffees for espresso and found GCS to be my favorite for whole bean coffee. By far, my favorite coffee roaster in the area! Additionally, customer service is excellent. They go out of their way to provide excellent service.
Mocha tastes more like cookies and cream, so that threw me off. That was all I went for. Its good, but not quite what I was expecting.
I always enjoy this place. Great people working there. A great connection to the arts in the area. And great coffee. I like the Mounds latte.
My favorite coffee shop in Manassas. Has a great vibe, the coffee is great, and the staff is very friendly!
Coffee and Food was AMAZING! had the Tuna Melt and it did not disappoint
Amazing coffee, great location, friendly staff! Seriously, you need to try their twilight latte (it smells amazing!) or the mounds mocha (hot or iced, its delicious and always my favorite!). Their sandwiches are very good and quick for lunch!
The baristas here are some of the best. Theyre always kind and ready to give me the same exact coffee that I order several days a week, and I love them all dearly.
Finally! This is it. A great neighborhood coffee shop with good coffee and a quiet comfortable ambience for those who telecommute and if you just want to meet up with a friend or two. Its small, but cozy. Also, I highly recommend their Chai Lattes!
I ordered a mocha today and found the milk was mostly foam and the shots tasted burnt. The quality of the coffee here has plummeted since they started roasting their own beans in house. On a side note while I was in there today I found the staff to be very unpleasant and not as welcome as they have been in the past. I won’t be returning until major changes occur at this place.
The staff is super friendly. Their peanut butter coffee smoothie was so delicious!
Quaint little coffee chop with a cozy atmosphere and delicious drinks. Ordered a hot chocolate and the barista recommended the peppermint hot chocolate. Great choice! Best hot chocolate ever!
Quirky coffee shop. Love it.
Perfect coffeeVery friendlyGreat value for a cheep price
A nice environment, awesome chess board and cozy feel. However, coffee was about as good as Dunkin Donuts...in no small part due to their system of adding your cream/half&half FOR YOU. Really outrageous for anyone who loves drink coffee and has a particular taste for their coffee. My drink was incredibly light, so i asked them to pour half of it out and refill it with black coffee. This didn’t help much so I went ahead and sat down. Over the next 20 minutes I watched another two or three guests try to communicate and explain what they wanted in their coffee to the barista. Really silly. Make more space for coffee prep and let people do their own cream, at the least.
Inviting and friendly service. Food was plain and nasty. Iced tea wasnt sweet. I did enjoy my raspberry white mocha iced coffee.
This is a nice little Cafe, with great coffee and Chi Tea. They also have some nice things to eat. The young folks behind the counter bust their chops, trying to serve everyone, and do it accurately. Its the better of the two Coffee houses in Manassas City.
Loved the service. The guy was busy but super nice and quick.I think the place need a little fix up and more personality.
One of the few places that offers peppermint hot chocolate on the menu. A conveniently located coffee shop with a few parking spots near by if you can time it just right. The menu offers a plethora of different beverages to include any type of coffee mixture and/or additives you enjoy. As of lately, there has been just one barista so there might be a slight wait. No one seems to complain at all. Everyone pleasantly waits as the coffee and treats are definitely worth it.
Got a tuna melt and green tea bubble tea. Both were delicious and brought right to where I was sitting!
I love their drinks and I used to get breakfast there too because I helped out at BRUU nextdoor on Sundays.
Amazing Iced Decaf Mocha - best I have ever tasted. Service was quick and friendly. Enjoyable first experience
Pretty awesome coffee and excellent service-love the breakfast sammies and paninis. The atmosphere is fun and artsy. The only downside is because its so popular the eating areas are a bit dingy. Still, definitely worth a try. Wish there were easier parking, but its a great alternative to boring old starbucks.
Nice place. Spacious and clean with a few comfy chairs close to the VRE train station. They actually have a triple espresso in coffee ON THE MENU! Scary, but I respect the courage. Coffee falls somewhere between fair and good - decent roast, but mine was brewed a bit light, and this is coming from someone who takes it strong and black. Worth a stop if you get to the station early or find yourself waiting for an afternoon pickup.
Good coffee. Got the Mounds coffee which tasted just like the candy dipped in coffee. Exactly what I wanted when I ordered.
I love this place... it always feels like home.... there is always great art to look at on the walls and great coffee drinks that can be made vegan... the people here are great
Cramped inside without many outlets, weird food choices.Varied beverages including bubble teas/smoothies.
Very well organized place. The barista knows exactly how to pull a strong shot of espresso. Great variety of world coffees and teas. The outside sitting is relaxed and comfortable. Perfect place for grabbing a wonderful coffee and a quick bite.
3 of us came in today, ordered 3 sandwiches and on came out every 5 minutes. I ordered a toasted bagel also and that was the last thing to come out. My friends had to sit and wait for me to eat. We were the only 3 customers in the place. Food was still good but service is awful
I love this place! It is nicely decorated and had a fun, easy atmosphere. I got an almond milk Earl Grey latte which was yummy, though it did take a while for them to make it. I got some writing done and will definitely come back here to study and hang out!
We got into the place 30 minutes before they closed. The gentleman working there was so nice to us and let us try all of the different stuff on tap. Their nitro teas and cold brew were amazing! Will always go back when in town.
Hands down my favorite coffee shop in Manassas. Great coffee from a local roasting business. Friendly staff and a homey atmosphere.A few of my go to drinks are their Twilight Late (Lavender & Vanilla Syrup), Shenandoah Blue (loose leaf) Tea, or a regular cup of coffee.
Service was pretty slow and the food average. Eggs were microwaved in a foam cup so I could do without that. Drip coffee was pretty good. Go for the coffee. Find other food.
A great no frills spot to meet a friend for coffee or get some reading done. Very reasonable prices. I tend to get a sausage and egg breakfast sandwich--made fresh with real eggs!
What I like best about them is the quality of customer service. There is always someone to attend to you so you won’t have to wait long. And the service is always fast. And the staff are pleasant people.
Really great coffee. Love walking here for an afternoon pick-me-up.
Very friendly staff. Excellent fresh ground coffee. Scrambled egg sausage panni very good start to your morning. Comfortable coffee shop setting including local art n leather barrel style chairs.
Coffee was solid. The scone was tasty. The employees friendly. A nice, pleasant stop for coffee.
Great breakfast and coffee at a reasonable price from a very friendly and attentive staff.
They have freshly roasted beans from the local roasters which is great. Coffee is one of those things that you really have to get locally to get the best coffee. Their pour over is very good.
Very nice and helpful staff. Helped me find the exact beans I wanted for home. Also, the dark cherry mocha is AMAZING.
This little place truly has one of the biggest hearts n Old Town Manassas, if not the world. Great new drinks and sandwiches, nice people who truly care about you. Cannot recommend it enough.
Good options. Friendly atmosphere. Right in old town Manassas.
This place is a fantastic, locally owned business. Great coffee and wonderful food!
Very chill place and warm environment. Staff pe are friendly. Enjoyed drinking fresh brewed hot chocolate. They have various blends of coffee.
Great chai tea, great people, great sandwiches, great place to read or write. ❤
Lovely local coffee shop. Staff are kind and friendly. Daughter loves their unique peppermint-coconut blended bubble tea - super refreshing flavor combination and the bursting honey bubbles were yummy too.
This is a fantastic little coffee shop. They have amazing nitro cold brew coffee, including nitro cold brew teas! They are completely full service and the staff is kind and friendly. This is definitely a great spot. They are also open until 9pm.
Great plcae. Very nice people love supporting a local joint that makes really good stuff. Quite a wide variety of drinks for such a small place. A must if you are in the Old Town Manassas area for sure.
This place has gone strength to strength well done to the owner
This is an adorable little quaint and cozy coffee stop. My coffee drink was amazing! I urge you to stop in and give it a try for yourself. You will not be disappointed!Update! Thank you thank you thank you for being on door dash!!!!! Parking my truck is so hard in Manassas. Its a huge dually! I can still enjoy my favorite Cafe without the hassle of parking in old town Manassas!
We got a first timer over here great first impression, great frozen coffee and food.
Excellent atmosphere. Open mic night with a great band. Great coffee. Fancy or just excellent straight up brew.
Love their mocha frozen coffee
Love this place. Its very local and small but the coffee is fantastic, the food is great and the owner is a super nice guy!
Matt is awesome!!!!!! I LOVE his shop and intend to show support to a beautiful family and a great coffee place!!! Love love love. This place makes my day the flowers outside next door are amazing to sit and drink my delicious dirty chai lattes!!!
I like visiting this coffee shop because of its great location, friendly service, and options for food and drink. What does not keep me coming back, however, is the taste of the coffee. I have tried out several different drinks including their drip coffee and espresso drinks and am consistently unimpressed. A good place for people who are okay with a mediocre cup of coffee, in my opinion.
Matt, Sabrina, Nicole, Kylee...the staff here is amazing! They get your order right the first time, process your request and get you served as quickly as possible. The prices are very reasonable and the food is always delicious! Great place to visit when youre in Old Town Manassas!
Offers food as well as bakeries! We tried blackberries scone and it was delicious! Not too sweet. Coffee was good and so was customer service. There is free Wi-Fi here.
