Amazing coffee and ever since I visited over a year ago, I continue to buy the freeze dried instant coffee. It’s perfect for camping and quick cups of coffee. Free shipping is great also. Keep it up!
Delicious!!!!! I tried their signature Velochata and it was love at first sip. You have to try this drink! Barista was super cool and fun to chat with and makes a great drink. This is now my number 1 coffee spot in Marquette. Cant wait to come back. Front door could use a nice bleaching/cleaning however...
Nice place, kinda small. Let me preface this with I am a strong, black coffee person. Decent coffee, not great. They do not have large cups. This is not what I would say is a grab and go coffee location, it is more of a get a cup of coffee and stay for a while.
My typical order would be a cold brew or pour over coffee, but I had a bit of a sweet tooth today and the applejacks latte on the seasonal menu sounded too good to pass up. It was worth the sugar buzz! And honestly, I was pretty excited that I could order such a fun drink since they used an oat milk for the base. Im glad I chose Velodrome over the other coffee shops in the area!
This coffee shop is such a great addition to Marquette. The coffee is amazing. Recently had the decaf pour over. It was great. Love sitting for a minute and relaxing with a cup of hot coffee at velodrome. It’s also a great place to get work done.
Really lovely place, very homely and friendly. Playing 90s music always tops it off for me! Stopped in for a coffee and break from hiking. Had an Iced Vanilla Macchiato with oatmilk and it rocked my socks off. If I ever get to come back to Marquette, I will stop in again! Kudos!
Great coffee and great space!I was visiting from Austin, TX and got some work done for a few hours. Coffee was beautifully roasted and well sourced. I had a macchiato and a pour over, both of which were delicious. The baristas were friendly and knowledgeable. And whoever put together the playlist should be a radio host. I will definitely come back the next time I’m in Marquette.
I order single source beans from many different roasteries to make coffee every day for myself and my coworkers. We were all impressed with Velodromes quality. The owners really care about producing a premium product in every aspect and being able to share that with customers. You can always trust the coffee to be precisely roasted, properly sourced, and delivered fresh. The process is smooth and refreshingly modern as well.Heck even the instant coffee tastes good, which is hard to find. It could really upgrade a backpacking trip!
First time here and let me tell you about this cold cinnamon toast latte! It’s truly amazing! It’s made with oat milk infused with Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Mason taught me about the different speeds of coffee. This place is locally owned from what Mason has shared with me. I really enjoyed our conversation and what she has taught me about the variety of coffee they offer.
Ahhh!!! Fruity pebbles latte was phenomenal. Quite literally made with cereal milk! Such a treat.
I always stop here when Im in town. They have a really unique seasonal menu as well as a quiet and nice environment to hang out in
Eh. Coffee is way over priced (although it is great coffee) and so is everything else they sell. Additionally, it’s disgusting that they are trying to ask for donations so they can expand to Ishpeming. IF YOU DONT HAVE MONEY TO EXPAND THEN DONT DO IT. Every business owner should be able to comprehend this. Ridiculous.
Definitely five stars for the cyclist discount. Great coffee and a very tasty chocolate chip cookie as well!
Cool vibe but the espresso tasted sour
I spent a lot of time here about 8 months ago routinely, coffee excellent, staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, environment clean...Bummed with my last couple visits though lately. Missing about a half-inch of my $6 iced drink, twice now. Not the friendliest of service. Just kind of a meh experience.
Cool place and great coffee! I stop every time I come through.
No food, good coffee. Music was a tad loud for studying. Very clean tho. Bike shop is legit. Always thought it would be cool to have a little coffee shop attached to a little bike repair area.
Very cute & local coffee shop. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. It’s a very cozy shop and a great place to start the morning with a good cup of coffee.
I tried the seasonal cardamom and thyme latte which was really good, not too sweet. Husband had the sweet latte but didnt find it overly sweet (in a positive way as he enjoys a sweet drink). Very minimalist look to the place, would be fun to sit and relax but we took our coffee to go. Great customer service, fair prices.
The coffee was great. But felt a little out of place, like we were unwanted. Maybe it was a bad day, just as a visitor it felt a different vibe than the rest of town.
Friendly service and great coffee! Warm and simple interior. We tried the seasonal lattes - basil lavender and fruity pebble. Both we fantastic, but the fruity pebble was unreal. Will stop in every time we’re in Marquette!
Very friendly baristas with wonderful recommendations. Always smiling and outgoing. Love their drink specials. Especially the fruity pebble, unique but very tasty. Always stop when I visit Marquette.
Amazing latte! Service and people are awesome. Got a little doggy treat for my lab too!
The best coffee shop in town! Such amazing coffee and atmosphere. They always have a delicious seasonal menu.
Modern aesthetic, friendly service, and fantastic coffee. We stumbled upon this hip spot on our way through Marquette on a road trip, and made a special trip to come back on our way home. Try the big chocolate chip cookies with your coffee!
Im not even into lattes and other coffee drinks much. Except the ones at Velodrome. Best coffee, top notch baristas= best concoctions. Beyond-Excellent coffee beans from Papua New Guinea and central America. Brice does indeed know the growers of each one, in person, in the origin countries. Very very good place to be.
The best coffee in Marquette! My favorite coffee ever!
Quick service even when very busy. Friendly. Great coffee (and cookie).
The barista was friendly, my espresso was perfect. Lattes are great here, best cup in the U.P., in my opinion.
Velodrome has fantastic coffee. You cant go wrong and youre guaranteed a quick trip. The only suggestion I would give to them is to maybe post a more detailed menu, and Im really reaching for a suggestion, as they do so much right. Seriously, keep it up guys, we love having you in Marquette.
Best spot to grab a coffee and get some work done in Marquette. Coffee is great, atmosphere is great, plenty of places to sit and plug-in, and the WiFi cup it overfloweth. Wouldnt change a thing.
Always exceptional Coffee!
Fresh little coffee shop in a great part of Marquette. I ordered a black coffee to go, and my fruity and flavorful coffee from Nicaragua was well worth the $3.18 price. There is ample seating throughout with little nooks and tables to study at or meet with friends and colleagues. They have a simple yet well-rounded menu, and the baristas were very friendly. I didn’t see any cinnamon rolls to comment on their aesthetics, but the other baked goods looked delicious.
The best decaf oat milk macchiato!
Its so aesthetic! They will give you a shot of espresso in an actual espresso cup, unlike a lot of coffee shops. Also theyll give you a small cup of sparking water with it. They also play really good music here, not cringey country music like a lot of places Ive been to in Marquette. 10/10. Come here and do homework.
Coming from a barista, I had the perfect shot this morning (7/5/20). Super sweet, but also wildly tangy with a pleasant acidity, and a perfect finish! props to the barista (i forgot your name)! will always come back to this shop when im in town!
Great stop for coffee. Parking in back is limited. Grab a spot on the street.
Had the night rider. Excellent brew and done right. I am so tired of places passing off cheap brewed coffee at premium prices. Velodrome is absolutely nothing like that. Amazing quality products and attention to the craft of coffee. I am very happy to wait a couple minutes to have a quality cup made just for me. Very clean progressive atmosphere that was welcoming. Thanks
Some of the best coffee on the North Coast! Looking for a fall classic? The 9 Spice Latte is just the ticket for when the Gales of November come early.
Velodrome is hands down the best coffee shop in Marquette. A must visit if youre visiting! If youre town, they usually have great community events as well. Every employee is incredibly friendly and every drink is delicious (whether youre a coffee person or not).
There is absolutely no reason to go anywhere else for a perfect cup of coffee (hot or iced). Disappointed with the weak hotel coffee we were delighted to find Velodrome. Also tried their private label instant — It is my secret weapon to jazz up the hotel breakfast coffee. This is my first visit to Marquette and happy to have found Velodrome. Also, great design and renovation of their space.
Great coffee and the blueberry muffin was delicious. Great place.
I love their business vision and staff! They have beautiful natural light and a really peaceful, tranquil atmosphere. They are seriously committed to good coffee and it shows!
Velodromes staff is just as bold and smooth as the coffee they serve.
Best coffee Ive ever had. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff
Excellent coffee. Great service. Relaxing atmosphere. Definitely will frequent as often as I can get up here!
So far my best cup of coffee in MarquetteStarbucks PSL has NOTHING on their World Spice latte. Smooth and amazing.
By far my favorite shop in town. I love that the syrups are handmade in house and that the baristas know exactly how I like my drinks. Cozy atmosphere and nice sleek design. Parking behind the building is handy as well as being right on the bike path for mid-ride caffeine stops.
First of all, this is the BEST coffee shop in the UP. The staff is ..... top notch. I’m mostly greeted with a smile and fun greeting. Everytime I come in it’s a unique experience. Although sometimes it’s very cold.. temperature wise. Overall, would recommend to friends, family’s, enemies... everyone with a pulse.
Having been an avid visitor of Marquette my whole life, it has always been a bit perplexing that it didnt really have a coffee shop that really loved coffee, knew where it came from, and knew how to coax out the many delicious flavors. Finally, Velodrome has come to Marquette and my wondering has been answered. Delicious brewed coffee, outstanding espresso, and awesome Chai, what more can you ask for? Oh their selection of fresh roasted beans is great too. I look forward to stopping by whenever Im in town just as I look forward to hitting up Madcap Coffee in Grand Rapids, Intelligentsia in Chicago, or Cartel in Phoenix.
One of the best lattes Ive had in a long time. Excellent service, relaxing atmosphere. So glad to have such a great place here in Marquette!
Its about time Marquette had an excellent coffee shop, and Velodrome is just that. Delicious, roasted with care, and conscientiously sourced coffee in a cozy little shop. If youre looking for the best cup of coffee in town (& probably the UP), give Velodrome a try.
Cute space and really friendly baristas!
Inviting, friendly owners who are passionate about what theyre doing. Fun to be in there. Clean, modern interior with great coffee. Also, my favorite part of the aesthetic is the vintage 60s white fireplace. Marquette is lucky to have this new business.
Best coffee youre going to find in Marquette, if not the whole UP. Highly recommended.
The way coffee shops should be - simple, tasteful, with some European flair.
One of my favorite shops of all kinds in Marquette! Friendly staff and a premium product that they carefully curate. You can really tell how much time and care they put into sourcing their coffee.
I do not recommend this place unless you enjoy gagging while trying to take a drink.Or if you enjoy listening to employees gossip about other local coffee shops. Seriously so unprofessional, never going there again. So don’t waste your money or time here.
Best chai latte I’ve ever had. Quick. Nice atmosphere. WiFi, good lighting, and fun flowers. Clean bathroom and good coffee. Everything is sourced in person and really supports the farmers, which is great!Only complaint: seating. Tables and some seats don’t seem sturdy or comfy.
Best coffee in town, hands down. Wonderful staff as well.
Awesome place in the heart of Marquette, its good coffee so go there!
My absolute favorite place in Marquette to grab a hot beverage and study. Great vibe, great music, great owners. Love that the shop is small and has cozy areas.
The espresso is reliably great. It varies between Good and Please excuse me, Id like to be alone with my mouth for an hour. If you drink espresso, you should try this coffee house.
Super hip, minimalist shop that really impressed me. I got a black tea and wished I had time to sit down and read a book there. Lots of rooms that separated the walk in area from seats so you could sit down and read in quiet.
Extremely helpful! Did not have what I was looking for but was willing to offer other suggestions!
Part community, part coffee shop. Well sourced product and inspirationally minimalist decor. Easy to focus here. Good location just a bonus!
By far the best coffee shop in Marquette, without a doubt. This place has killer vibes and killer espresso to go along with it! Always a good spot to have a hot beverage on a snowy day or to chill out and have an iced coffee on a hot day.
Excellent coffee, the workers are very polite and I would definitely recommend this place for a early brew
Great coffee recommend this place to all coffee lovers, need two registers always real busy
Great coffee! Owners are super sweet and care so much about where the coffee comes from! All around amazing experience there
Its awesome. Great coffee, great espresso, great atmosphere. Specials are well thought out and executed, with new ones every change of season.
Fun atmosphere. Great decaf espresso. You might not care about decaf. However it shows their commitment to quality in the details.
Best coffee in Marquette, hands down. This town has been desperately waiting for something like this - and the owners delivered in SPADES. Amazing coffee, beautiful atmosphere in the shop, everything Ive been wanting for and MORE!
Hands down the best coffee shop so far I have tried in Marquette. I just had their regular coffee with 1 shot of express. Umm the nutty coffee smelled and tasted so good that I got late to my work lol 😂. Will be a daily customer when I come back to Marquette.
The prime location next to the Marquette Co-op plus the fantastic coffee make this a staple place to go! We went in and were greeted by both owners, who work in the shop. I got the honey latte-best latte Ive ever had. Very reminiscent of an Italian cappuccino. My husband had an iced Puerto Rican coffee. For him, iced coffees are hit and miss, but he loved it. Definitely recommending this place to friends and family.
Great tasting & quality coffee served by friendly, enthusiastic owners! The shop is bright and well designed - this has instantly become our favorite coffee shop in Marquette.
Great coffee and really clean inside
Great specialty coffee! Cute location. Even have GF / Vegan treats!
I drove up from Missouri, as a full time coffee snob and former industry guy, I didnt expect much and then found this beautiful shelter from the insane weather. Incredibly good coffee, excellent service and surprising atmosphere
Phenomenal! From the moment you walk in and are greated with warm smiles and bold aroma of coffee to the very last sip. This is true craftsmanship...
