Reed and his crew are old school professional people who simply know how to get the job done. I normally bring my car to the dealer but have found that Reed can get the job done for a much better price and on top of that is simply a nice person. I highly recommend Aquidneck Motors!Scott Nanfelt/Owner -Delken Companies & Del Nero Corp
Cracked my valve cover on my 1968 Mercedes Benz 200D.. completely destroyed my car and I paid to have injector nozzle tips put in $200 bucks.. now the job is being redone and we are questioning if he even put in the 4 nozzles. Injectors are really bad and in need of complete rebuild.. thanks for absolutely nothing.. now ignoring me and my calls. Also flipped out on me when I asked to keep my original valve cover he cracked and welded without my permission, after noticing this on my own, after paying my bill, I went back and made him replaced it with a used part but he got very angry when I asked for original part and would not give me a receipt for the work done at his shop.. Maybe because he did none? Now will not answer calls and is always out of the shop when I call! Thanks
I have to laugh when people accuse Reed of selling a scam car or of not working with them when something goes sideways, which can happen working on anything old, houses and older European cars in particular. If you want perfect, buy and drive a new, expensive, and more often than not these days, boring car.If you want to drive a nice car after someone else has driven the lions share of the depreciation out of it, understand that the car will not be perfect, but it can be perfect to drive if you are willing to fix problems as they arise and do the preventative maintenance, and that is where Reed comes in whether you buy the car from him or not.Cars are inherently complex beasts. Add time and wear and figuring out the problem often requires disassembly and knowing where to look.Reed knows more about how old Mercedes, BMWs, Audis, Saabs, Land Rovers, and VWs (you name it) age and break than anyone Ive met, and I am a car guy who has brought old cars to mechanics in 4 states.
Only place on the island to fix my AC. Great people here.
I have been bringing my cars to Reed at Aquidneck Motors for more than a year now and have been impressed with his ability to diagnose and repair even the most challenging problems. I own a previously salvaged VW Eurovan that came with a laundry list of reasons why it couldnt pass the RI State safety inspection. He got everything taken care of and it passed inspection. The best part is it didnt cost an arm and a leg. Most recently, I had an illusive vacuum leak and the cracked breather hose was no longer available. He was able to repair the old part and now Im back on the road.
This place is a scam offers good deals on cars that have major issues and say they have a warranty but it has to go through them.
Trustworthy and knowledgable!
