Very courteous & Professional. I highly recommend this office for eye care needs.

I took my daughter to see Dr. Petrou. Essentially she suggested blue-screen, anti-glare glasses to help with her eye strain, caused by increased iPad use in virtual school. However, what she said to me, the parent, was Your childs focus system is having problems. I pressed and asked, Are these glasses for correcting her vision? and she was so dismissive, in saying Of course, theyre prescription lenses. The glasses, through her office, were ~$270. I did not purchase them. I felt like she was hood-winking me by making me believe my daughter had a much worse problem that needed to be solved with VERY specific lenses that only her office sells.

Dr. Petrou was gaet spending lots of time evaluating the health f my vision capabilities. Her advanced, up to date equipment gave me a very thorough report which was so helpful to have.

I had a great first experience at Petrou Eye Care. Dr Petrou does a wonderful job explaining what she does and why she does it. She takes her time to teach you about your eyes, and most importantly, preventative strategies to keep them healthy. Her team is kind, considerate, and so helpful. I will definitely continue my care there.

The good: Dr. Petrou did an excellent job examining my 4 year old.The bad: We picked Dr. Petrou due to her good reviews and the fact that she is covered by our insurance (in network). We scheduled a basic checkup, and Dr. Petrou determined that she wanted to check our sons eyes further, but had run out of the eye drops to do the dilation, so asked us to make a follow up appointment. After the follow up appointment her staff gave us a bill for both visits. We were never warned that the services rendered were outside of a normal visit, and upon asking about the charges, were were told that the services were a medical code that wasnt covered by our insurance. They were inflexible on the charges and didnt provide further information to justify why our basic appointment fell into this category. I have had my eyes dilated by optometrists before and have never been charged for this type of appointment.TLDR: Good with kids, not transparent about billing. They didnt seem to understand that not warning people about services being outside of insurance coverage is a problem.

The doctor was very enthusiastic about what she does and obviously is invested in patient care to the highest degree of integrity! Highly recommend!

Dr Petrou did a very thorough eye exam and has the most up to date equipment. She spent a lot of time explaining everything. I have new insurance so i was able to see Dr Petrou and the office is near my home and open late two days to accommodate peoples work schedules. My prior insurance optometrist did a very quick eye exam and i saw different optometrists over the years. I was able to make appointment and get in immediately. I arrived 20 minutes late and I was still able to see the doctor unlike at Ascension where you cannot be more than 5 minutes late. I recommend getting a complete medical eye exam here.

Dr. Petrou and her staff are the best of the best. I have worn glasses or contacts all my life so getting really good vision care matters to me. They consistently have the best frames available in the entire Milwaukee area, and the staff is friendly and eager to help you find a pair. I dont have my husband sending me selfies from his eye appointment to help him narrow his selections down because the staff is on trend and they can take care of it. Dr. Petrou is also extremely thorough, friendly, and helps explain things in a way that makes sense to patients. I recently had to go in for a series of appointments, and Dr. Petrou was great at explaining things to me in a way that was honest but also didnt freak me out. I dont think well ever go anywhere else, even though its a 25 minute drive for us. Worth it!

I went over twenty years with an undiagnosed eye issue. Because Dr. Petrou took the time to exam beyond the basic health of my eyes, my quality of life improved dramatically. To boot she has excellent interpersonal skills and is clearly compassionate.

Friendly service, great selection of frames. My first experience with a true eye exam and Dr. Petrou took the time to answer all of my curiosities of the exam. In my lifetime, I have had 3 concussions. Dr. Petrou took that into consideration and recommended lenses that would help relieve some side effects I have had from them.. HOW COOL IS THAT???? Came here for the first time this week for a routine eye exam and contact fitting. The entire staff was kind, patient and super accommodating. It had been a while since Id had an eye exam and I didnt budget enough time for a follow up appointment, but Christina went out of her way to make sure I could get what I needed in one appointment. Not to mention, they have a great selection of glasses, much more modern than what I can usually find in person. Would recommend to anyone!

Awful experience. Performed and charged me for tests that I did not want. I did not want an exam for contacts- only wanted glasses. Never told me that certain exams were to fit me for contacts. Then charged me for these exams. When I asked to not be charged for this, the previously kind worker turned nasty. After several months and many many phone calls, several with very rude people, the charges were finally removed. It was an exhausting experience.Unfortunately your response is also just wrong. I never asked for contacts “and changed my mind.” I knew very well that I didn’t want or need contacts. And the refund took MANY MANY phone calls and finally going in person to your place of business- over the course of months.

Dr. Christina Petrou and her staff have been the absolute best in providing eye care for myself and my daughter. Dr. Petrou is as professional and knowledgeable as it gets, but also is warm, caring and shows real concern for your vision (eyes) and for you as a person overall. Shes top of the charts and one of the best around!

I couldn’t ask for a better eye doctor. I had a very scary situation with one of my eyes and Dr. Petrou helped me through the entire process. I now see her every 6 months for follow up and she always makes me feel extremely comfortable and well cared for. I never feel rushed and she always takes the time to answer my questions and make sure I understand everything that is going on. She is very skilled and experienced. Amazing staff and service! Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Dr. Petrou gives a very comprehensive exam explaining each step of the way. If you want a drive-thru experience, this is not the place for you. Your eyes deserve the best care and this is where to get that service. Dr. Petrou specializes in low-vision and is always up on the latest treatments and options for clients. She lets you know what to do for good eye health. You will not be disappointed. If you do need glasses, you dont just pick them up, you have an appointment to make sure fit is perfect. They do an outstanding job and have taken excellent care of me and my family!

The doc is great and we have had a great experience with her but we had an experience that was unexpected when the clinic could not oblige for an appointment for our teen son whose glasses broke. He had to be without glasses and miss activities. To make matters worse, the staff was rude. The real test for any business is when they can take care of your needs especially kids needs and go above and beyond the normal ... everyone (mostly) gets the routine right but the ones that go the extra mile are the ones that differentiate ... this clinic is the routine and nothing beyond that. We have now moved to a new eye clinic.

I had the most thorough eye exam with Petrou Eye Care, with all my questions answered right away. The office and staff make you feel immediately comfortable and the service is excellent. I received excellent personalized attention during my exam and while I was picking out my glasses. They also have a great selection of frames, it was impossible for me to pick just one pair! I have been to several optical offices and this was by far the best service, price and overall experience I have ever had.

I recently had an eye exam and was fitted with two pairs of glasses, one for general purpose and one for computer use. I was also fitted with contact lenses and received prescription eye drops for my allergies. I greatly enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of the practice and loved the selection. Everything is there from basic readers to the latest high-style Scandinavian frames.

Easily the most thorough and comprehensive eye exam Ive had in 20 years. My copay is the same here as it is anywhere else, and while they do carry a higher line of frames (which after my deductible I did pay probably $75-$100 more than I would elsewhere) I have never been happier with my glasses. Matt was extremely helpful in picking out frames, and I do not have an issue paying for premium service. It will not be the cheapest option, but I think it is the best in the area.

Very unhappy overall. Was charged twice as much as my previous eye doctor. Receptionist calculated my bill using a calculator and when I returned to pick up my contacts, I asked to have it calculated again and found out he overcharged me (which was still a ripoff compared to my previous eye doctor). Doctor was polite, but again, highly overpriced in my opinion. Will never return again.Thanks for the response, but I am sorry to say that I will never return. Dr. Petrou is very nice and thorough, but I can go to other eye doctors for much cheaper. I thought it was a bit unprofessional as well that Matt didnt explain nor monitor the pre-exam eye tests. I have also never had an eye doctor bill my health insurance company in addition to my eye insurance. I was also told my insurance benefit would be decreased if I did not buy contacts through you, which I have never been told before either. I just feel as though the experience I had did not coincide with the amount of money I spent. Im sure there are plenty other patients (who ironically all wrote an excellent review 1 week after mine was written, after only 1 other review had been written in the past 6 months) who are satisfied and will return, so energy would better be spent focusing on maintaining their satisfaction than trying to gain mine.

This place is an absolute pity. Billed incorrectly, exams performed without permission, conflicting information, let’s not forget to mention the nightmare staff that operate this “little shop of horrors”. I would not recommend and would truly go out of my way to inform others of the disasters we experienced. It is comical to me that you wouldn’t just practice good customer service while my spouse is there, instead you grovel after the fact and then pretend that you’ve “never seen us before”. This childish charade has grown tired, accept your licks and learn from your poor service.

Scheduled appointment online after receiving text and emailed reminders for an annual appointment. Pre-screening questionnaire was completed online before my visit. Check in at the desk was fast. Dr. Petrou was friendly and explained each step of the exam. She recommended a resource for healthier eye living.

Ive had a number of eye problems over the years that various eye doctors had either misdiagnosed or overlooked completely. At Petrou Eye Care I received the most thorough eye exam of my life. Dr. Petrou encouraged me to ask questions about my vision health and provided a wealth of information. I want rushed in and out the door like so many other places. Instead, during my exam I felt like I was her only patient, that she genuinely cared about improving the quality of my vision --and she did. With the contacts and glasses I got from Petrou Eye Care my eyes feel better, and I can see better than I have in years.

I am a person who hates doctors and hate them because I always feel rushed and therefore I dont want to ask questions in fear of keeping them too long. I had my eyes checked at Petrou Eye Care and Dr. Tina had taken the time to explain EVERYTHING and even went over why I never had gotten a good fit or why they were so uncomfortable for years! I learned so much in that ONE visit than I had from different doctors over the last 15 years. Now I have comfortable contacts and no fear of the eye doctor ever again! By far the best experience I have ever had and I would recommend her to all of my friends and family.

I have had massive billing issues with this office. I have tried multiple times to resolve the issues with the office. I checked with them in advance - I had them check my insurance and they assured me that everything would be covered. First they billed my insurance incorrectly. It took them months to re-bill it. But they still sent me another (albeit smaller) bill in the mail. I have made numerous phone calls to them regarding the bills they sent me, but never received a response back. I just found out that they are sending the amount to a collection agency!Definitely not a place that I would recommend due to their incompetence with insurance, billing and customer service.

I visited this clinic last year for routine family eye exams. I then received bills for my 2 sons but not myself. I contacted them and was told to wait until my bill came to pay them all together. I get a call today that the account is being forwarded to a collection agency. Still no bill for me. I contact the insurance to find out that there was a billing inaccuracy which prompted almost $400.00 in services.After contacting the accounting department at Petro Eye care I found out that they billed my sons for medical eye exams and diagnosis and not the routine eye exams we went in for. When I began to question the lack of follow-up appointments for these medical issues I received no answers.Im almost certain theres some form of fraud involved in this inaccurate billing system and will be following up with my insurance provider to find out who I report this fraudulent billing to.Doctors should be held to the Hippocratic oaths they take and not attempt to take advantage of their patients or the insurance companies. I think these underhanded practices are disgusting!

On what planet is it legitimate to dilate a patients eyes, return him to the waiting room to wait for the medicine to have the full effect, and then have a sales associate pounce ( mid-exam) pushing extremely expensive eye glass frames in the blurry interim? Being smart in not the answer to everything! I was captive for hours!
