Kindest staff Ive ever seen at a shop. There are SO many coffees to choose from and the beans are roasted fresh consistently! However, theyre all roasted dark and/or past the second crack (burnt), so wouldnt say the product is to my personal preference.Prices are a steal though ($1.03 for a cup of coffee at a shop?!), $3 for a cappuccino vs $4 at Starbucks or $5 at artisanal locations. All kinds of equipment line the walls, including Chemex brewers and vessels, Toddy cold brew makers, hand grinders, retro grinders, etc. Its honestly impressive when considering that even places like Spyhouse or Dogwood Coffee dont have this amount of stuff.Always feel free to come by. If you enjoy a wide array of dark-roasted coffees and an unorthodox, hole-in-the-wall feel, this place is perfect. The neighborhood is lovely too!

My gf loves tea and we decided to stop by. The place was cute, but the service was awful. The absolute worst customer service Ive ever experienced. The attendant was extremely rude and condescending. We asked about the tea selection and he told us to go to Starbucks instead. I dont care how good their coffee and tea supposedly is, do not go here.

By far the best place in the cities to get your fresh coffee & tea. Staff is kind, knowledgeable, and fun to be around! Theres coffee beans you can get here that you cant get anywhere else in the area. Always fresh and can be ground any way you need!! They also have coffee & tea accessories, like pour overs, steepers, filters, etc.

Best coffee roaster in the Twin Cities. Grew up in on San Francisco/Bay Area coffee, lived in New York City for 20 years, and spent two years drinking espresso in the cafes of Vienna, so you can trust my judgement. Jims Five Star is our daily coffee and we send it as gifts to family on both coasts at the holidays and they love it.

They have tons of varieties of coffee beans and loose leaf teas, from Ethiopian to Hawaiian, Pu-er to Earl Gray. For beans, theyll grind them on the spot to a fineness of your choosing, or they can bag them up whole and seal them in plastic to preserve freshness. All the employees are very nice and extremely knowledgeable about coffee and tea. They arent snobbish in the slightest, and are happy to answer any and all questions you might have. Youre welcome to smell any of the coffee on the shelf, and man does it smell fantastic. Dark and fragrant, this is probably the best coffee Ive hadIf youre looking to ramp up your coffee game, this is the place to go. Theres nowhere else like it.

I have been shopping at Coffee and Tea for about 35 years. No matter where I move to all I have to do is pick up the phone and order my beans!!!Jim has been a joy to work with all these past years and I try to stop into the Linden Hills location whenever Im in the Twin Cities to say Hello.Something about the old roaster that he uses and the smell of freshly roasted beans, the burlap bags from around the world that are full of green coffee beans, the familiarity of the shop I first stopped into back in 1983. Cant say enough about the quality of the coffee that comes out of this small shop!!!

Have been here a couple times while out walking around the area. Coffee was reasonably priced and tasted great. Im not a coffee expert at all. I review things like Andy Bernard... “this art is bad”... but I could tell a difference between this and any big name place. This had FLAVOR, something Im not used to with those big name places.Great stuff you guys!

A hole in the wall, and I absolutely love it. Once you step inside, youre stepping into pre-1980s. They carry some of the best dark roast coffee in the whole Minneapolis. Its dark, burned, oily, and absolutely delicious. If this wont wake you up, I dont know what will.

The coffee in here is amazing. Its high quality and the people who work here are super nice. The one thing I would change is the general messiness of the shop- that sounds a little rude, but if they presented their coffee and tea in a way that was more pleasing to look at and had less clutter, I think a lot more people would be more likely to actually buy a bag of coffee along with their cappuccino.

It smells great and they have fancy coffee, and they’ll grind and brew anything you want by the cup. That’s the end of the good. They treat customers like an inconvenience and are put out by having to describe and distinguish the various coffees, AND they don’t have written descriptions anywhere which I take to mean they don’t want your business unless you are a coffee expert . This is not the place to go if you’re learning. I won’t be back - Dunn Bros is close by and a better choice unless you enjoy interacting with jerks.

I visited this place for the first time today and experienced the most condescending, insulting customer service I can remember. Tyler treated my sister like a complete idiot as she tried to explain the beans she was looking for and he countered everything she said with a sarcastic remark. As two working professionals with jobs that involve dealing with people daily, we looked at each other in complete disbelief and asked to speak to a manager. Jim, the owner, had ZERO concern as my sister explained that she had a problem with the (lack of) service we just received. He got extremely defensive, made excuses, and did not take us seriously. We left feeling completely shook up and insulted. I do not care how good your coffee beans may be - I am of the opinion that a business is ONLY as good as it treats its customers. We will never be back and I will tell everyone I know to take their business elsewhere.
