The service was great, staff was nice and had my order ready right away. The only reason Im giving three stars is that the baked goods I had (looked great) were dry and tough. I may have gotten goods on an off day. The fan favorites like filled croissants and other goods were all sold out before I placed my order.During this Pandemic (COVID 19), gotta order online or phone (quick turn around online)
Sunday staple. Most delicious pastries, friendly staff, and generally immaculate vibes. Perfect way to start a cute date day.
Amazing place. I really appreciated the selection of local goods that could be purchased in the marketplace. Everything tasted delicious and we liked the outdoor area to sit and enjoy our coffee and baked-goods. Go here. Support the amazing things local entrepreneurs are up to!
Honey and Rye has a great mix of classic bakery selections and unique offers! I have very much appreciated how they have changed in the wake of pandemic to keep their customers and staff safe. I love their filled croissants (almond and chocolate is my favorite!) And you have to try the Monkey Bread Latte. The parking can be a bit hit or miss depending on how busy they are but they are very popular for a reason! Definitely worth it every time I go!
Great pastries. My favorite cinnamon roll, ever! Oh, the staff are great!
They were out of a lot of items when we visited, so we only tried a coffee and morning buns. Only reason for the 4 stars is because the breakfast sandwich’s they offer only come cold, due to a reason involving COVID-19 I cannot remember exactly. But who wants to pay for a cold breakfast sandwich. Will return next time when COVID is more lax and earlier in the morning.
Great cannoli with many flavors of filling. The apple tart is fabulous, just as others have mentioned. I have also purchased a custom cake from the shop and I couldn’t have been happier with it.
This place has amazing iced coffee and delicious baked goods and breads. We ordered Moms bread for the week and seriously upgraded our lunch experience. Delightful gem in SLP.
Love this bakery. Everyone does such a wonderful job. You are all appreciated!
Best Bakery in MN! Great service, delicious, and friendly staff. My personal favorite is the London Fog Tea Latte and the Oatmeal Cookie Sandwich. I choose Honey and Rye as my go to over any other coffee shop/ bakery! It is the best.
This is my favorite of all local bakeries. And… feel free to argue… my favorite pain au chocolat (chocolate croissant). Amazing pies, wonderful service, great sandwiches too! Even though you can go inside now, the order ahead system is perfected.
Honey and Rye has delicious baked goods and and interesting collection of local products to browse. The raspberry pistachio pastry is my favorite!
This is our family’s favorite bakery. My favorites are the chocolate orange scones and the savory bread pudding. The coffee is always hot and fresh. Definitely something for everyone.
Excellent baked goods and excellent coffee. Our favorite is the monkey bread latte! They also just started offering some danishes that are absolutely delicious but they sell out fast!
What a great place for a quite sit down coffee and bread. Lots of choices for pastries but not overwhelming either. I got the zucchini bread and I asked them if they could warm it up for me. I was so pleased to know that they didn’t just stick it in a microwave. No! They said, “it will be a couple minutes because we will warm it up in the oven for you.” Wow! How nice!! Yes please. Too bad I’m only here on vacation tho. Will definitely return when I’m in town again. PS: the Cowgirl cookie is also spectacular!
Best scones I’ve ever had. So good, all other scones will disappoint.
Cutest coffee shop around, staff is incredibly friendly and I love all of the local goodies stocked inside!
No idea how it took us so long to stop by this place! The shop is very cute and in a great location. The pastries are freshly baked and taste fantastic. We got an almond croissant that was perfect. They also have cute mugs and merchandise available if you enjoy picking up souvenirs! My only problem with the shop is the size. If you go in here on a weekend morning, there might be a line out the door, which is fine in summer, but less so in the Minnesota winter. I see they have another shop at Graze in the North Loop. I hope theyre able to expand even more!
Best Lemon Bars on the planet!Friendly service, attention to detail is impeccable, flavors are out of this world!Lemon Bars are bright orange with the perfect tangy, zesty balance. The crust is flaky and sweet. The texture melts in your mouth. It really is going to be a thought every morning and hard to resist eating it every day!The baguette we split was ham, gruyere, and butter. We added a little mustard seed spread because the ham pairing and again, amazing! Bread was crunchy and soft, perfection.Flavorful coffeehouse too! The smell alone is intoxicating.Great job Honey and Rye Bakehouse! We will definitely be back!
I love this place! It has the love-crafted appeal that you come to desire when you see a small business like it. Its a women-owned and operated one, too, which is a welcome sight any day.The baked goods are amazing. Made fresh every day, around the clock. So far Ive had three items: The Chocolate almond croissant, the banana bread, and the blueberry-lemon scone. All three have defied my expectations that Ive come to have from going to chain places like Starbucks or grocery store cases. The bread was soft and buttery, the croissant buttery, flaky and sweet, and the scone was a perfect buttery crunch on the outside with a soft, gooey interior. Id recommend anything on the menu, honestly though, because thats 3/3.They serve coffee, too! I found St. Louis Park has a distinctive lack of artisan-style shops like youd find in Minneapolis and St. Paul, with Caribou and Starbucks being the highest bidders; that is til I came here. The coffee is pretty good, with locally-grown coffee from Tiny Footprint. So far Ive ordered 3 drinks: Espresso macchiato, cappuccino, and Cold Press. The espresso is pretty good, however its only natural youre not going to get as good as somewhere like Dogwood. The espresso can be on a bit of a surextraction side at times, but so far its been pretty solid. The cold press though has always been AMAZING. Tiny footprint is a good roaster, and at Honey and Rye, they make it on-site, daily. I hope to try all of their coffees to see what best fits the espresso theyre using or the roast they use for batch brewing. Either way, I always look forward to it.If youre ever in St. Louis Park, and want that eclectic coffee shop feel, but with more individual fair than a Starbucks can supply, with sweets that will make you sad you had to eat them: This is it.
I love this place, and they really care about their community! The first time I came in after they re-opened post-Covid, one of their front of house staff greeted me and remembered my regular order from pre-pandemic days. And their updated patio is gorgeous and a great gathering spot!
Food is amazing and always fresh. Such a cute cafe. To go orders are very quick!
What a lovely and delicious 😋 place! Everything is thoughtful and rich with all the right ingredients- butter, sugar, spices. Breakfast scone with egg, cheese and ham was hearty and just right. My fave cookie is the ginger snap which is dark, crispy and chewy. Want to try the ‘so called Twix bars’ next time.I drink macchiatos and they do it really right.
So cute! Great selection of pastries and bread and the coffee was excellent.
A fun bakery with delicious treats. There are only five tables, so not a plethora of room if you are planning to stay a while, but I’ve never had trouble. Also there is a large outdoor area so I’m looking forward to warmer weather! I got the Yerba Mate latte which I was a bit worried about, but I ended up liking it a lot the sweetness cut down on the typical Yerba bitterness. The cheddar jalapeño scone was sooo bomb. I’m usually not a scone person, but it was perfect. We also got an oatmeal cookie sandwich which was also delicious (I always go savory though). All and all a good experience if you are looking to pick up some goodies.
Great selection of pastries and breads, and excellent espresso drinks!
This is one of my favorite bakeries in the area. Theyve adapted well even in the pandemic. the coffee is great, and this is my favorite chai tea place!
You know that place you drive by for years and years and never stop in because youre always running late? Well, I was finally ahead of schedule today and swung the scooter into Honey & Ryes parking lot. I cant believe Ive missed out on this scrumptiousness for all these years. I got a quick snack of a ham and gruyere croissant and quickly realized I now have a favorite quick bite. The croissant was flaky and light and the ham and cheese were rolled into the croissant and not just plopped into the middle. It was the perfect proportion of cheese, ham and crispy goodness. I cant wait to try more at Honey & Rye and will probably do so on the way home.
I tried Honey and Rye when I moved to St. Louis Park and I keep coming back for more! All the baked goods Ive tried have been great!
Amazing would go every day
Great place!!! Good customer service.
I was in the neighborhood and wanted to find a cozy spot to enjoy a coffee. Im so glad Honey & Rye was just down the block from the yoga studio I was coming from. I decided on monkey bread and a breve, and since the seating was limited I decided to take it to go. By the time I got my drink (just a few minutes), a table opened up so I changed my mind and stayed a bit! They kindly gave me a plate and I sat down for maybe 30 minutes. As I was leaving, a group of 3 claimed my table. The only thing I would change is the amount of seating and extending the wifi. Im always looking fod spots to work from, but this spot may just be a coffee to go kind of place. Thanks for the welcoming experience!
Really friendly staff, really good food and coffee
Honey & Rye is a cozy little independent coffee shop and bakery on Excelsior. Its a great place to take a break and enjoy a treat. The coffee and baked goods are excellent, if a little pricey. Service is always prompt and friendly, and the whole shop is always clean. I recommend taking a loaf of bread home!
Every bite tells you they use good, fresh ingredients. Plus you can sit and watch their small kitchen at work. Three people move like a co-ordinate ballet. Loved watching them pan up a huge batch of the very raspberry scone I was eating! So fresh! Check out the little retail racks by the restrooms...fun, unique finds! Definitely going back.
Great pastries, bread and pie (including quiche). Unfortunately our experience with a cake was not as good as the rest but maybe it was a bad day because usually everything is so good.
Mildly overpriced, with some items that are worth it but some that you should avoid. Service is always friendly, and make sure you pre-order online since theyre only doing online ordering due to Covid! Before that, there usually wasnt much seating available as the location is very small, but their takeout system is efficient (and recyclable). The quiche and scones are what keep me coming back; theyre absolutely addictive. The croissants are hit-or-miss; Ive had a couple that were absolutely incredible and some that were dry/overbaked or not very flaky. Ive heard very good things about their monkey break and banana bread, but those are the sort of things I refuse to pay someone for when theyre so easy to make myself. :DDo NOT get their cold press coffee- Ive tried it three times (I forgot, dont judge me), and it was under-extracted and very sour each time. I havent tried their drip coffee, but the lattes Ive had were very good.
I just toured at the Verge and they gave me a give card to here. I ordered online, picked up my coffee a bit later....probably the best latte Ive had in Minnesota. Thanks!
I ordered the Monkey Bread latte and a butter cookie for my son and me, and we ABSOLUTELY LOVED them both!! Will definitely be back!
Everything here is absolutely excellent - the coffee, pastries, breads, pies. I try something new all the time and havent been disappointed!
This is one of my favorite bakeries in the cities. My only con is that I have to fight the urge to go everyday.
Best almond croissant I have ever had
Pretty decent croissants! Not very flaky but still true. Morning Bun and Macaroon both pretty good.Had a Cortado and it tasted pretty weak. Im guessing its a single shot of a lighter espresso.
This is a must if youre in the area.
I wish I ordered my Chai’s here sooner! It is absolutely delicious!
I thought they were joking when they said they wouldnt warm up a breakfast sandwich
Honey & Rye has the friendliest staff and the most delicious pastries and coffee! I try to go there once a week and am always impressed with how consistent the pastries and coffee always are. One of the best places for a good coffee or some tasty pastries in Minneapolis!
Honey & Rye is my happy place! The staff is caring and attentive. I even went there on my birthday this year because I love the atmosphere and the baked goods are top notch of anywhere I have been - keep doing what you do! Thanks for the many delicious baked goods!
Amazing food and really good coffee. Would strongly recommend trying it out
Great scones.
Spotted this place and stopped in on a whim.Oh my god delicious bakery items. We had the lemon ginger scone, Madeleine cookie and coconut cream pie.Warm and quirky atmosphere, felt very welcome there. Will definitely visit again on our next trip to Minneapolis.
Excellent coffee and chocolate croissant. Best foam Ive ever had on an almond milk cappuccino. Croissant was amazingly light and crispy. Indoor seating is extremely limited so dont count on finding a table. More of a to go place. More outdoor seating when weather allows.
The Twin Cities is well known for baked goods which means lots of competition for Honey and Rye. They are our go-to Bakery! They even share a birthday with my husband, lucky for him!Our favorites are the monkey bread and coconut pie 😍😍
The savory scones and delicious!!
So-satisfying baked goods (savory scone alert!) along with delicious drinks and friendly customer service. Love how eco-friendly they are. Whats not to like?
Favorite place to get coffee, thanks ladies for the great coffee and service!
Delicious baked goods!! I splurged (seeing as I spent $18 here for one person 😬 a bit on the pricey side) and bought an almond croissant (favorite I’ve had in the cities), ham and cheese baguette (also delicious!) and a miel. Small shop with about 5 -6 tables inside and a few more outside. Service was really friendly and a free parking lot. I’ll be back!
This is our favorite coffee shop/bakery in the area (and weve visited many!). You should DEFINITELY check it out, especially if you like really fresh croissants, deliciously cinnamony sugary morning buns, perfect sourdough bread, scrumptious oatmeal cream pie cookies, and fantastic coffee. We havent had anything here that we didnt love!! And the its a super cute place to boot!
Oat cappuccino was delicious ☕Be sure to order ahead!!
A local gem. Highly recommend their breakfast sandwich. Cant go wrong with any of the options. Nice weekly rotation so there are always new things to try. Were regulars now!
Amazing breakfast! Highly recommended! Friendly staff and fast service!
Excellent variety of baked goods. The bread is amazing. Sourdough is top notch.
Delicious and unique coffee, an abundance of pastries, and a welcoming environment. There is limited seating so this might not be somewhere you plan to stay all day, but it is great for a pit stop. I recommend the monkey bread latte!
Absolutely love this place! Wonderful staff, food, outdoor space, and they have biodegradable and recyclable containers if you don’t dine in!
This is one of my favorite local bakeries... its a very nice plus that they have great coffee too! My favorite treats are the ginger cookies and lemon bars when in season. Cant go wrong with their scones or breakfast sandwiches/quiche! Everything Ive tried has been great, really.
Everything Ive tried is delicious (my God, the cinnamon roll)! Love the bottomless coffee, and the staff is always super fun and friendly. Everyone should check it out!
This place actually deserves 5 stars and I will change my review if they simply do one thing:*Get real napkins or paper towels or something larger than flimsy drink napkins. They just don’t work to clean anything up at all! Apologies but it’s the truth. On the other hand this bakery is amazing. The staff is nice, all baked goods ( and I have tried them all) are excellent, and the cappuccino is the best in town!
Great bakery & coffee house. Everything we had was prepared well and tasty. Will got back when in the area. Thank you!
Their monkey bread is amazing!
Quality coffee and pastries. A little small, but the best St. Louis Park seems to have in an independent cafe.
Always great service! Best croissants! Ive tried several others around the twin cities and honey and ryes are the best. Coffee and bakery delicious every time! Thank you honey and rye.
Briefly skimmed the reviews and not sure why no one has bragged on their Cinnamon Buns! Unbelievably fresh, my absolute fav, and only made on Saturday I think! Wish I took a pic!
Delicious fresh pastry, and bread pudding! I warmed mine up for a minute and it was melt-in-your-mouth good!
The best coffee and breakfast for MILES!
Great coffee, amazing croissants, friendly staff. There isn’t a lot of space to sit, but I came at lunch time, so that’s understandable. I’ll be back for sure!
Simply scrumptious baked goods. A true hidden gem of not only St. Louis Park, but of the Twin Cities as a whole. Can’t recommend them enough!
Tasty neighborhood spot for coffee and baked goods. Non dairy milk available for those like me who are dairy free like me. The coconut macaroons are df as well!
Every single thing Ive tried here is simply outstanding. The scones (especially the jalapeno ones), the homemade oatmeal cream pie cookies, the breakfast sandwiches -- all delicious. And my most favorite...the morning buns! Cinnamony sugary flaky goodness, oh my. Its totally worth the 45 minute drive for me. Go early. Things run out, and you will be sad.
What an awesome experience this place is. Friendly helpful staff, excellent flacky thin layered croissant and a lemon bar to rule them all. Seriously that lemon curd cant be beat. They offer classes and have an encouraging coffee menu though neither myself or my partner partook. I will be back.
I found this place by accident was very uncertain what I should stop or not but I did and let me tell you I am so glad I did I have been back here several times since my first visit every time I try something different on their menu let me tell you the food is so delicious different flavors are so explosive, I am a serious as a heart attack when I tell you delicious is an understatement. If I can give them 10 Stars I would
They had this really amazing spinach and cheese scone and it really made my day.
Great pastries and coffee with cheerful, talented staff. My only knock on this St. Louis Park institution are the comparatively high prices and limited seating. Attempting pleasant conversation with a friend over coffee and their AMAZING monkey bread, becomes significantly less enjoyable when fixed with the glower of any subsequent patron in need of seating. Best get your treats to go!
SO GOOD. The staff are amazing, the coffee and pastries are delicious, and the atmosphere is welcoming. Only downside is that theres very little seating, but this problem is alleviated in the summer when they have outside seating.
Great little locally-owned bakery. Everything we have had has been delicious. Our favorites are the scones and quiche. Good coffee and friendly staff.
This is a hidden gem, keylime pie is the best ever, our new favorite place
