When to look at a Tesla with low miles that they said it was a very nice car. For 70,000 it should be. The car had scratches all around it and the rims were hit on curbs way to many times. They tried waxing/buffing the car out and was a horrible job. I don’t like company’s and/or people wasting my time.
What a horrible experience!!!! Take this to heart. THE WORST POSSIBLE DEALERSHIP EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE AND I AM 50 YEARS OLD!!! Pay more if you have to. But dont do business with these preschoolers. If you come here bring some happy meals and coloring books, to occupy the children that work here. RUN!!! I CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!
This was my First encounter with CarMax. I arrived an hour earlier than they opened for business and they took me right away. No hassle, no haggle, just a test drive and then the paperwork process. All were Very professional employees! At first carmax of mobile was already guestionable because my son had purchased a car from carmax of mobile it was a terrible ordeal. Only after camax head administrative people became involved they ended up sending him to the Honda dealership just to get his second key not because carmax of mobile couldnt do it but because he lost two days being lied to.That being said we decided to try carmax because we didnt want to deal with a car dealership.We ordered a car it came it with damage to paint. They said they would fix it and call usAfter a while of getting no return text no anwserd phone calls . They text us said the paint booth was down. Next week they text saying we were #4 for paint. Then they text telling us to come see car.We drove 2 1/2 hours to see car and the mobile carmax employee told it had not moved from spot it was not even looked at.We then ordered another car and was told we would have both cars to chose from.Two weeks later we was told the first car was gone and they didnt know where.We used or three day option to change financing to our bank. Which because of mobile carmax took 10 days. We would like to know who lied to us about first car and it being fixed when even the sales staff told us it had not been moved. Then cost us 5 hours of driving to see car.Mobile carmax is a terrible place to do business.

I was there to trade my vehicle in for which they offered topped dollar for, which was well above my expectation. She walked me through each step, and reassured me that she had my best interest. It was awful to say the least very unprofessional, and to much on one person. Started the process with one person ending up having to do everything all over again, which was the whole purpose of doing it online . Due to Covid no one want to sit, and wait almost 4 and a half hours . The car I received was a smokers car, blew and turned in the air conditioner, all you could smell was Weed blowing out. The only good thing was the Bathrooms were clean, and that’s about it .If you need something quickly I would recommend here over a Buy here Pay here .

Our experience was GREAT....Until....CarMax has a reasonable policy of collecting sales tax based on the county where the car is purchased rather than ones home county. We were charged a higher rate due having to shop out of our home county (no CarMax in our immediate area) and the county where we shopped has a significantly higher rate than our home county. We were informed they had to collect the higher amount but we could take a paper they provided, have our local tag office fill out the amount for our local office, bring it back in, and they would refund the overage. That is understandable and reasonable and we appreciated the paperwork being provided.After going to the local tag office I made the drive back over to drop off the paperwork and I thought would receive the overage that day. I was informed it would have to be processed by the central office but would be handled within approximately 10 business days. Thirty days after dropping the paperwork off to them I had heard nothing so I called the local office and was informed it should have already been processed, they were sorry, and they would have someone call me within a day or two. Two business days later I called again and was informed the process could take around 3 MONTHS.I am currently waiting to hear from the Central Office in Virginia to find out how long they intend to keep the overage. The site we used did quite well for us in finding the car we were looking for and handling all the paperwork for a cash sale. The local tag office was impressed with how organized the paperwork was. We were quite happy with everything. Until we hit this glitch.
Perfect from start to visit. Completed my appraisal online, got an offer quickly, headed to the local branch to accept it, and was on my way, check in hand, within an hour. The staff, especially Jett, were courteous, knowledgeable, and great to work with.
The sales representative was perfect. However, the only reason Im not giving five starts is because I asked a gentleman (who appeared to be a manager) to remove the Carmax sticker from the back of my car. He advised me, were not allowed to do that. Now...Im 53 years old and have bought a lot of vehicles in my lifetime. Not only CAN you remove the sticker from the back of my car...you HAVE to remove the sticker from my car once it becomes my property. It is illegal to advertise on someones personal property without obtaining their permission!

Im gonna give them three stars, and heres why. It was a rough transaction. I had a new( but very sweet) sales boy. However, there was an issue with the price being different than when I had it transferred in. There was a bit of pressure on me to purchase the car the day I walked in if I wanted the lower price. I was disappointed with the sales tactics so I walked out.However, the manager did call me and made it right. I came back and worked with the very same sweet salesman and I ended up with a great car for a great price. All in all I would probably use them again because it was still better than traditional car lots.A couple of lessons learned: if you have your own financing do not go on the weekend. They will insist on you using their financing which means youll get another hit on your credit. If you transfer a car in, and it comes in on the weekend, wait till Monday if your not getting your loan through them. Also, they may try to raise the price on you so be prepared.
The initial purchase was great but that is the best I can say. Once I drove off the lot any semblance of customer service disappeared. We live in Florida and purchased a car in Mobile, AL; it has been over 4 weeks and I am unable to register/tag/title my car in the state of Florida due to a cascade of errors on the part of Carmax. I am endlessly on hold waiting for the next person to pass me off to someone else. Would not recommend and will not return.

I dont think I will buy a car anywhere else. The experience was great from beginning to end. The staff was welcoming and guided us along the way. NO HASSLE. Be sure that you have all info. to register your car and get your tag before you leave. Papers were shipped and the package was missing one form. They quickly resolved the issue and all was fine.

The sale man was really friendly it was late and they were about to close for the day but he welcome me in anyways. I ended up buying a car from him that night or late evening he was so patient while I was doing my paper work for my car they were locking the doors. I was there about 45 min to an hour later than their hours . When I went to get in my car to head home they had put a BIG yellow bow on it for me it was so special .
Me and my daughter went just to look. They said we needed an appointment so we made a appointment for the next day. We get there and sit 45 minutes. Told them we was leaving they could have cared less. Called and told the manager. She said they have been busy the last few days. I made another appointment to go back. This time 30 more minutes of wasted time. Its just not worth it. And a lot of the cars are on hold or not available. Dont waste your time.
My appointment was at 7:30 and I had a check in my hand by 8:00. The sales representative was very helpful and knowledgeable. Best experience I had selling a car.
All of the salespeople were great. I got friendly service and a reasonable car at a reasonable price. The trouble started when I got home, and the car started having issues same day. I brought it to the service department at Carmax and they said they would fix it in a month. After arguing, I was able to get a loaner for free because the car was broken when I bought it. They have had the vehicle over a month and will not return my calls. I would not recommend purchasing from here, unless you want a broken car with no updates. The sales employees were very nice however. Management at the Mobile store claimed they were understaffed after I called the customer relations representatives and told them the situation.Understaffed shouldn’t prevent a 30 second call back for an update about the vehicle when the customer service line was called 8 days in a row.I’m typically not the type to complain on these types of forums, but the service was absolutely ridiculous and I wouldn’t recommend a single person buy a vehicle here.

My experience was amazing from the time I started my search online, down to getting pre approved. I drove 2 hours to pick my car up from Mobile, Alabama and with dealing with other car companies was very worried about not being able to leave with my car the same day. CarMax took all that worry away I was in and out within 2 hours and back on the road home in my brand new Car. The service was amazing from the time I walked through the doors. I had the car I bought shipped from Texas. When I went to test drive and drive it, I noticed a small square indention on the passenger side back bumper. It was agreed that they would replace the bumper if I bought the car. They did have the bumper replaced at a reputable body shop and also had to replace the blind spot monitor which was the square I saw on the bumper. Even though it took a couple weeks, the bumper came out great. Be sure to carefully look over any car that was shipped as the shipping company tends to bump cars around a bit.I really like the car and the cost of fixing the bumper and blind spot monitor was over $3000 which CarMax paid in full.
Carmax is the first place to visit if you have a car to sell! The process was easy and the staff is very efficient and professional. There was no pressure and no hassle whatsoever. Lastly, there is no FEE!!! #CarmamxIsTheMAXX!!!
My experience inside the store was wonderful. It wasnt until it was time to register the car that I realized the true lack of customer service. It has been months and Carmax has yet to produce a title to the car. Whenever you call them, they give you the run around or will continue to pass you off to someone else. You have to keep calling 3 or 4 times before something is done. I would not recommend ever buying from this location as they are literally the slowest car dealership I have ever dealt with.
If I could give zero stars I absolutely would. I bought the car in January from the Pensacola location and it came with one key I was told they would give me a second key for no charge because I live in mobile they made arrangements for me to get the key made there. I took the car to my appointment in mobile and dropped it off and picked it up the next day I was told the person who made the keys didn’t have the one they needed for me and that they would call me once he finished. Over a month later I had received no call back so I stopped by and they had no idea what I was talking about they got my information and said they would call me again they never did. I called the Pensacola store to see if there was an issue and talked to a manager he said he would email me a new repair order I never received it. I stopped by mobile yet again with the copy of my original repair order and they said they would make me a new appointment to get the key made which they knew beforehand I would not be able to attend I was told they would talk to their service manager and try to make arrangements because I had already left the car once and could not miss work to bring my car in again. Once again I never got a call back the day before my appointment I made a phone call to see if they had figured anything out and was told the girl I had talked to wasn’t working today and that they would look into it and call me back. Not once did I receive any kind of phone call or email the entire 4 months I have been trying to get this situation taken care of.
Love that I can shop online. Have them reserve a car for me to go look at and test drive. Get preapproved on their site as well. Just a get experience. THANKS

The experience of buying the car was great. However we had an engine light come on on the way home thst turned out to be an oxygen sensor. Getting that repair done was a pain in the butt.

I will not recommend them to anyone. I paid to have my car shipped, had to wait 7 days after it arrived to see it. I scheduled an appointment and when I got there they couldn’t find the car. When they did locate it, it had been out in a muddy back lot. It wasn’t washed or detailed and there was mud in the wheel rims. I bought the car in spite of the filth because I had already owned one, they rinsed it off with a hose to give it to me. The ‘glue’ from the info on the windows was still there.I was told that no one had time. Really? They had it for 7 days. I am very disappointed and will not use them again
My experience with CarMax in Mobile, AL was very positive. I was looking for a specific car (Genesis G70, manual transmission) and I traveled from Huntsville, AL to look at it. I called before making the trip and the car was reserved. In addition, the saleswoman, Tchana reached out to me on the way down to make sure that I had everything I needed for the transaction. Since it was New Years Day, I had to wait a day for my lender to be open, but I was still able to test drive the vehicle. It only had about 2400 miles on it and the price was fair; much better than what other dealerships were charging. The process took a while, but it went very smooth. I received a good price for my trade-in and CarMax gave me a full tank of gas for my trip back to Huntsville. This car has turned heads and it was a pleasure to work with Tchana at CarMax.
Once they make that sale, they don’t care about you. I dropped my fiancé’s truck off for a transmission problem on 4/6 and it is now 4/19 and I have heard NOTHING. Well accept when I called corporate and got transferred after waiting a week and hearing nothing, and he told me my transmission needed replacing. Carmax does not answer there phones when you call, or they just hang up. They will not call you with updates on your vehicle. If I’m paying $500 a month on a vehicle from them, I expect to be driving it. I’ve also called around to the dealerships they’d have sent it to to be repaired and no one has it or has seen it. So where is it!!!!

The only place we were totally disappointed in was the we had our vehicle transferred from Naples fl to mobile al and it took way to long(14 days). We were having to rent a car as mine got totaled and really needed it here sooner. We bought this car sight unseen and was absolutely delighted with our choice. Will definitely be using carmax again

Carmax let me down on this one, big time. I arrived 15min early for an appointment and was told to wait by a gentleman, No biggie I had driven 4 hours from out of state, but Im a pretty patient guy. I waited 40 minutes, (25 min AFTER my appointment, only to be helped by the gentleman that greeted me, who hadnt been helping anyone for the whole 40 minutes I sat there. Both minor issues, but in the light of the experience add to the frustration. They list the vehicle as a Toyota Tacoma SR5. At the time I wasnt aware of how to tell the subtle differences between an SR and an SR5...now I do and I feel a bit cheated. I dont understand how that mistake can happen. I noticed it when I put my Vin to register with Toyota. I have the window sticker right here.....Secondly, they did a real bate and switch on me with the financing. I needed the truck for work and decided to try and work with he other finance company directly after the purchase. And Finally they didnt issue me a temporary tag, but some 3 day pass. This shouldnt have been a problem, but they didnt get me my paperwork to register the vehicle for 11 days. I got pulled over and was issued a ticket. The ticket will be thrown out but it is still a hassle to bring my registration to court to prove I did it and take the time out of my day to do it. Very unprofessional from start to finish. This was my second Carmax purchase, but will probably be my last.
My mom and I came in for a car. She was going to buy it for me and the lady at the desk told me she couldn’t. And when I asked what do parents do when they buy kids cars. She’s said well they are minors like it was an issue my mom was buying me a car. Then my mom said she would just buy the car and she told her no CarMax has a policy and now that she knows she is buying it for me she can’t allow it? So I guess if you are buying your child a car don’t come here because you are a criminals breaking some sort of law.

I purchased a car from CarMax in Mobile Al in 2018 and had an amazing experience. It was completely different than traditional car dealers. The customer service rep was excellent and there was absolutely no pressure to buy a car.I went back recently to purchase another car and have had a completely different experience. The customer service rep is horrible, we have been misinformed several times and no one seems care. Customer service is nonexistent at this store and I will not be back. To top it off I transfered a SiriusXM subscription from the car I traded to the truck that I purchased. Someone from Carmax got in touch with SiriusXM and told them that I did not have either vehicle and my entire subscription was canceled. The incompetence is infuriating.
Had a wonderful experience purchasing my vehicle from this dealership. Had one transferred here from Virginia and everyone I spoke to was very helpful. Try your best to reach the local agents by stopping in and getting their extension but even the call center you get directed to gives you a lot of assistance. Ordered a vehicle that was in on April 9th, car is still sitting on the lot on May 18th because they cant get the title situated. Its been a miserable experience.
The car that they had showed on the Internet in person look pretty good however I feel that for a 3 or 4-year-old car even though the mileage was fairly low $29,000 was a little too much and feel they are overpriced. After all you can get brand new cars now thats price for that are under.
I bought my car here a few weeks ago and this is how it went.I used carmax.com and the carmax app to pick out a car, after someone at the store recommended the make and model to me (Mattie) based on what I was looking for. Unfortunately, she is wasn’t the same person to help us with purchasing the vehicle. For that we were assigned someone else.She seemed to work a little slower than the other salespeople, but it wasn’t too bad. It was only a little frustrating because I didn’t expect it to take two hours. Before we showed up for the test drive appointment, I already had as much as I could completed online, the loan was already prepped through another bank, and I even had the insurance quote ready.Then the very next day we were having some issues with the radio. I called, scheduled an appointment, and proceeded to wait another 1.5 hours after my appointment time for my car to be taken out of the parking lot to get looked at. After about 15 minutes, they agreed that there was an issue and said that they would have to call me back to schedule the installation after they order and receive a new radio. It’s been 10 days. No one called. I found a work around for the issue and am not interested in calling them again. I’m honestly worried that they could mess it up more and don’t want to risk it. I can’t say that I trust their service.Then the bank called almost two weeks after purchasing the car. They told us that had been trying to get a hold of carmax, but that they’ve been ignoring them. They called and faxed them on two occasions. I’m sure they emailed as well, but I don’t know that for sure. They called us because they were in need of the paperwork to process the loan and asked us to try and contact carmax ourselves. I was a little frustrated then because I assumed that the initial purchasing process took that long because the girl wanted to make sure it was done properly. Now I’m left wondering what exactly she was doing the whole time. My husband called carmax, and I can’t exactly state what was said, but they assured us that they would take care of it. Then the bank called again a FEW DAYS after we called carmax to let us know that they finally got a hold of them and are hopeful to receive the paperwork within the next 24-48 hours..In theory, the carmax car buying process should be super smooth and simple. We are (mostly) satisfied with the car, but I can’t say that the service met our expectations.

Went here with my son to check out a certain car that he had them bring down from another lot up north. I think that is cool that they do that for their customers. Pretty fare customer service. Of course all salesman are gonna keep on haggling you to buy this and buy that attitude, just trying to make a living. Other than that, the place has plenty of vehicles and variety of them also. It was very clean and plenty of social distancing space set up.

This was the worst car-buying experience I have had in my entire life! One associate in particular made it nerve wrecking. They were unprofessional when it came to paying off my trade-in, which took over a month and almost messed up my credit. They also did not send me off with the proper paperwork to register the vehicle resulting in over a 2 hr wait for a simple fax/email. I will Never recommend CarMax, especially the Mobile Location!

Very dissatisfied customer. A large piece paint came off the top of my car roof. It’s continuously peeling. I came to the mobile office, of course they were gonna deny they had anything to do with it. I brought two vehicles from here. I was possibly gonna buy a third one. I’ll rather go to new car dealers where the warranty fully covers it.

I had a car transferred from their Maryland location to their Alabama location to buy. I paid $800 to have it transfer at the beginning of April. Today (4/23/21), Mobile, Alabama location called me and said my car was in Mobile, but they cant find the title and it could take months to get it figured out. I will not be buying this car or any other car from CarMax

I had to wait 2 weeks for my vehicle to come in which was perfectly fine with me because I chose a vehicle out of state then the finance company gave me a big run around about my phone number which wasn’t nice if I was paying my money & the guy Pedro kept sending messages saying my phone was on which it really was, he was just dialing the wrong number which was his fault because I had been updated my number with CarMaxx he just wasn’t paying attention to information in the system

I recently bought a car from CarMax Mobile. As soon as I finished signing the paperwork an employee comes to me and tells me there is a problem with my car. She then tells me their car wash malfunctioned and damaged my car. The rear quarter panel was dented in and the back tail light was ripped out. Although I was extremely disappointed, I wasnt angry with anyone as I understand accidents happen. This all happens before I could even drive my car off the lot. I waited 7 days to get my car. About a week later I open the trunk and realize there is primer and over spray everywhere, as you can see in the pictures. This could have been prevented by simply taping it up prior to painting. I called and left a message for the manager two days ago but still havent received a call back. Ive decided I will just take care of the problem on my own. If they cant take the time to tape it up and do a proper job i would rather them not work on my car. Very disappointed that this is how they fixed the damage they caused. I will say there was one employee that seemed to care and his name was Tim.
Wonderful experience form start to finish. A salesman spent 3 hours with me online looking for the perfect car for me. I picked out my car, paid a $99.00 transfer fee to have my car shipped from Florida. My car was delivered in 10 days. I went into the local CarMax, completed the paper work and drove away in my car. I will definitely use CarMax again.
I can never express how much gratitude I have for the folks at Carmax. My husband was in the hospital and my car finally bit the dust, they were so helpful. Rasheed was informed and listened to what I wanted in a used car. He also enlightened me to the newer models of Nissan cars, which were more roomy and more up to date than I ever knew. The seat was just the right height for me to get in comfortably. It was time to close and we just made it out on time. I got a big yellow bow and he programmed my i- phone into the car before we left. Would recommend Carfax to anyone looking for a late model car with low miles. Horrible not recommended. The salesperson who assisted me was in a very rude position. From the beginning he was acting like this. He didnt want to show me the car that I wanted and he also wanted to drive it but he wouldnt let me. Because he told me that I could buy this car that he couldnt afford it and I had the money to pay for the car in cash. Okay then I went to another dealership and bought it very bad experience in carmax he was denigrating me but okay 🙂
Not really a fan of not being able to call directly to my local store and ended up talking with about 10 people all over the country in the process of getting my truck. Once I sat down with a rep at the local store though it was a super easy process! Ended up having the touch screen go out a week after getting my Ranger and they were quick to get it over to the Ford dealership to get it fixed and had me in a rental truck within the hour of calling with issue of my truck!
I loved everything about my experience with this place! My husband and I went to look for a car for him. All of the staff was super friendly. Our salesperson was really cool and like others have said, didnt pressure us into anything. The whole process of buying the car was super quick and easy. Ill definitely be returning soon to buy a car for myself!
Ordered a car in from kharavadana was several days late on delivery cancel my order. Song a car I liked online at carmax went there looking if you cars and decided on the one I saw online price was good the car was in excellent shape and the service was outstanding. Easiest time Ive ever had my in car.

I first met with a sales associate Tim who was attentive and courteous. He was able to answer my questions regarding the car I inquired as well as cars similar to the one I reviewed. Several days later I returned and met with Rasheed who was very detailed, polite and responded to many of my questions. My purchase was a truly “no frills” experience. This was a grade A experience.

Personnel were helpful, but the company really needs to handle their business better. We drove from Mississippi to get a truck after waiting for a week on them shipping (which failed). After getting there, we had to wait an additional w hours after paperwork for them to fix the problem in their system as it still showed in transit to Jackson MS (as noted, it never shipped) and would not let them access to sell it. Please note that this is after I called hours in advance to tell them to cancel the movement and have it ready for me (which they cancelled the truck but did not bother updating the system until I had already paid).You would figure that this would net some discount, but I even had to point out the window ticket was cheaper than online to get that cost...
At first, i was disappointed with the CARMAX in Mobile, AL so I provided CarMax Customer Service with the details for my concerns and issues. I wrote them a letter on 26 November 2020 with supporting documentation and to this date have not even received an acknowledgment of the letter. So not only am I disappointed in the service I received at the CarMax in Mobile, AL and not very pleased with CarMax. And, all of this is after I have purchased 3 cars from CarMzx over the years. john
Go somewhere else to purchase your vehicle! Dont waste your time here its gonna be a waste of your day.. my mother in law purchased a car just recently from this fraud business & its already had to go into the shop for repairs! Dont waste your time or hard earned money @ this dump dealership!!
Allen was my salesman and did an outstanding job. However, the service department has been an utter failure. I communicated with Allen regarding two windshield dings that we’re not there when I test drive the vehicle but we’re there upon purchase. Sadly I did not notice this until the ride home. I contacted Allen immediately and he arranged a service appointment for me two weeks-the Monday immediately following my purchase. Initially the service team was good and I was told the repair would be completed at no cost to me. Additionally, I was told to expect a call from the service department that afternoon confirming an appointment with repair company. Two weeks later I had to call only to be told the service representative had lost my number and he would call back by 4:20 PM that afternoon. Three days later no call...... Terribky disappointing.
Make sure you do not look on the lot after hours. Me and a friend was looking at a new car for him; so we proceed to walk onto the lot to look at the cars. Within the next 10 minutes a security guard comes over the intercom and tells us to get of the property very rudely saying we where trespassing and he would call the police. So we complied and went walking back to MY truck in the customer parking lot; he came back on the intercom saying we are not getting off the property so I pointed to MY truck and hit the lock button to flash the light to jester we ARE leaving. He then told us again we are trespassing. That is all we herd because by then we got into the truck and left. I will never even think of looking at a car here again.

I bought my car from here and the sales part was great. The service dept is horrible. I havent even had my car a year and here I am at the Chevy dealership trying to see whats wrong with it because I cant get anyone at Carmax to answer the phone. This place is a joke. I wish I could give a zero
The buying experience was easy and painless. The issues Ive had is I need a lug nut for each tire ( because carmax removed the locking lug nut off each tire ). Im still waiting for them to order them. Ive called and have been up there. Im still waiting and this is my 2nd week with my truck.
My experience was outstanding with my car purchase. Im only having a problem with waiting on my transfer refund! Ive been charged for a transfer that never was shipped. So I decided to get another vehicle that has free shipping. Im still waiting on my refund for the 1st vehicle that was never shipped!! It has been almost a month now!!
